Child Stone: The Full Story
Gaa!" The baby squeaked. She was so happy as she could ever be, smiling and just being herself! Her mother, Mother Stone, was watching her making sure she was nice and healthy! The father, Papa stone, was reading the newspaper.
The title read "Wealthy Business Man Gets Sued For 25,000 Bits."
"Ha! Take that!" The father shouted.
"Some good news my sugar daddy?" The mother questioned.
"Ahh yes well, look what it says in the paper!" The father eagerly replied. The mother read it and then beamed.
"Ohh yes! The rich are getting worse and worse!" She pleasantly said. "That'll certainly teach them to share their wealth right dear?" The mother asked.
"Right." Stated the father. "And soon our little baby will be a true filly. She's almost walking now!"
"Should we try again dear?"
"Of course!" The father said.
They got their baby, Child Stone out of her crib and put her down gently. The baby started crawling on the floor. "Okay dear, now come to mommy!" She started to get up,... But immediately fell down.
"Ohh my... Not again.. Maybe we should-" She was cut off by Papa Stone.
"No... We need cash!"
"Huh?"
"If we could hire someone to train our foal and get a foal sitter, then life would be a lot easier on us!"
"But how would we-"
"don't worry I know exactly what to do!" The mother gasped. He couldn't mean it... Could he?
"Do you mean that we should...?"
"Yes... Now just follow me, and bring the baby!" The mother sighed again and rushed off with the young one in her stroller.
They where in align ready to fight. The father had spoken to the baby, "stay right here" he warned as he stepped into battle. The baby was just wondering what was going on...
The mother looked at the father "code 0015 is ready"
"Let's go." The father replied.
Papa Stone used his unicorn magic to turn them into creatures that looked like they came out of everfree... They started attacking all of ponyville until the sisters stepped in. It didn't take them long before they banished the two parents both to Tartarus. And then the sisters found their baby in their stroller, crying.
"Luna... Is this-"
"Yes sister it's their filly... We really should take her to an orphanage. Those parents are not respo-" Celestia interrupted Luna.
"No sister.. Didn't you see what just happened?! This filly must have some sorta dark magic from her parents... Maybe we should banish her to Tartarus as well..."
"How do you know she has that sorta power?" Luna firmly asked.
"How do you know that she dosent? We can't take any chances."
"I guess your right sister, but Tartarus is too much for a little filly like her..."
"Then where do you think we should send her?"
"Just somewhere where she'll be isolated, Where she won't hurt anypony, where she can't use magic. Like-" Celestia interrupted Luna yet again.
"Like the moon."
The sisters looked at each other and nodded. Then Celestia used her magic to send Child Stone to the moon, forever.
As the years went on... Child Stone got older... She taught herself how to walk, how to talk, and how to be aware, all the while being stuck on the moon. She learned everything she knew from the memories she had of being on earth... She even remembered the fight her parents had with Celestia and Luna and the conversation the two sisters had about her maybe having dark magic, even though she had no magic in her, she knew. It had been almost three decades since her arrival to the moon. And yet, she had no idea how long she'd been up there. She was kicking a moon pebble in frustration.
"Ugh, I'm bored! But then again I'm always bored." She mumbled. She sat down and looked at the equestrian planet that was in front of her.
"Oh sweet Celestia, when can I come home?" She wondered as she hung her head in sadness. Then all of a sudden she heard a poof behind her, could it be? A friend? She turned around and there she was, Nightmare Moon.
Child Stone started bouncing toward Nightmare Moon "Yay! A friend! A friend, a friend, a friend, a friend, a friend, a friend! Hi my names Child Stone And you are?" Child Stone didn't recognized her as Luna, but even if she did she was to excited to think about it, she hasn't talked to anyone in about 30 years! She was so happy to see something other than moon rock! But as for Nightmare Moon she had other opinions. Nightmare Moon shook her head.
"Oh brother, someone to annoy me while I'm here. Well listen up little fool, I'm plotting my revenge against my sister, so, if you don't mind I must get to my buisness." She firmly stated.
"But I just wanted-" Child Stone was cut off.
"Did you not hear me fool, I'm busy, now SCRAM!" Nightmare Moons screaming scared child stone to run off into the distance. She was crying, A LOT.
Then after a few days she decided to try again, and again, and again, and AGAIN. No such luck. After a couple years of trying she gave up. She was crying on the moon looking up at the equestrian planet, crying. "Oh Celestia I had one chance to make a friend and it didn't work out! Why?! Why?!"
She started to think some more, it was her parents. It was all their fault she was miserable. Cold and alone, bored as heck, crying like crazy. She had just wanted to live a normal life, and her parents had to be greedy. She started to punch the moon rock, it hurt, but she didn't care. All she wanted was to be happy, and yet she never was. After about 5 minutes punching the rock her hoof started to bleed. She had asked Nightmare Moon for help but she just yelled at her again. The bleeding eventually did stop but it hurt a lot after. Child Stone never felt more pain in all her life.
Child Stone, being in space for most of her life, does not age past the age of 35. It has something to do with the gravity, or..., something. But she's been up there for 1,032 years. She's been depressed. Looking down, she's seen the equestrian planet. She's been frustrated she can't go down, go to school, live a normal life. She's upset and angry with herself and her parents. At year 638 she tried to commit suicide by banging her head against the moon rock, she gave up, cause it hurt too much.
Then after the long 1,000 years, Child Stone noticed Nightmare Moon doing something. "Nightmare Moon? What's going on?!"
Child Stone loudly asked.
Nightmare Moon laughed and rose up. "Haha! You foolish subject! It's time for me to take over again! The night in Equestria shall last forever! And I will be there to see it all go down! They will love me! They will embrace me! THEY WILL TREAT ME LIKE A GOD! So WATCH OUT CITIZENS! I'm coming back!" She gave an evil laugh as four stars took her off into the distance.
Child Stone just saw the worst thing she had ever seen. She went back to equestria and she was still there. She screamed so loud it almost made the moon shake. She couldn't believe it, she was on the moon for longer than her, how could she not go home? But then she had a thought, what if she was just next? And so she waited, and waited, 3 days later and NOTHING. Child stone was crying.
Child stone has now been up there for a total of 3,582 years. She was starting to think that she would never come home. To her it felt like 100,000,000,000 million years. Because there was nothing, nothing to do as she just sat there and wondered when she got to come home. One day she had a flashback of a time where she was a at park as a baby. She remembered kids playing and laughing with one another on the playground. That thought only made her mad until she had an idea.
She had a giant grin on her face as she took some moon pebbles and started arranging them in a circle. She made the circle as big as she could. The grin got bigger and bigger. "Oh Child Stone, this is the best idea you've had in, well, in forever I guess!"
She started to giggle as she ran around the circle singing a tune.
It went something like, "La La La, LaLaLa, La La La, LaLaLaLaLa," She had never felt so much joy in all her life.
She felt alive jogging around in a circle, singing a tune, prancing as she went. However after 3 hours she got bored and tired of that. So what was a pony to do? She thought of another flashback where she was at a art museum in Canterlot. Of course she couldn't draw anything, or could she? She took a rock that she found and started to use it as a pencil, carving it into the crater. Then after 1 week after the drawing was done she took some moon dust to add some, "spark" to the carving. She was pleased with the flower she made.
It was very hard to do though, and her hoof was tired. But she didn't want to rest, she was having way to much fun! After a decade, she eventually had tons of things to do. Run around, draw, play pretend and even practice her singing and write songs! She even had a friend! Her name was Limestone, Limestone the moon rock. They played pretend together, they had tons of fun, and then all of a sudden a poof had appeared behind her.
Child Stone thought with precaution and the decided to look behind her. It was a piece of paper wrapped up into a scroll. She opened it up. The letter then read,
Dear Whoever is carving into my moon,
STOP CARVING INTO MY MOON. I don't even know who is up there carving into my moon, but at 4:30 PM today I'm coming over there to find out!
~Princess Luna
That letter made child stone feel all kinds of emotions. Happy 'cause she might get to come home, worried if Luna would be to mad at her to let her home, scared of what she might say when she gets their, and angry because SHE put her on the moon, and SHE doesn't even remember. And so she just sat and thought about it for 3 hours, untill she came.
At 4:30, just like the note stated, Princess Luna flew up to the moon and then landed. She was right behind Child Stone, who was afraid to turn around. Princess Luna looked flabbergasted. She had never thought a filly would be the one to mess up her moon. "Excuse me." Princess Luna firmly interrupted.
Child Stone turned around. "Y-yes?" Child Stone stuttered.
"Why are you carving into my moon, and on-top of that how did you get up here?" Child Stone didn't know what to say. She was scared about anything and everything that could go wrong.
"I-I just wanted to occupy myself... That's all."
"But how did you get up here?!? What is your name?" Child Stone paused but then continued.
"Ch-Ch-Child St-St-Stone."
Luna's eyes sparked. She had a flashback to when she had banished her to the moon. She then snapped back to reality and shook her head, realizing she could be a threat. "I'm warning you, if you use your dark magic, then I shall use my magic. Now let's-" She was interrupted by Child Stone.
"But I don't have any!" She screamed. The words slipped out of her mouth like they where sliding down a ramp.
"Oh my Celestia, I am SO sorry. I did not mean for that to come out the way it did." She only apologized to not anger her.
"Wait, what do you mean you don't have any dark magic?"
"My dad never castes dark magic upon me nor was he born with it. He just learned it from school." Luna gasped in sudden realization that she had made a mistake.
"Come with me down to Equestria so we can do a dark magic test on you. We recently have discovered the technology. But to be safe I'm putting a magic lock on your horn and I'm also going to have to put some weight on your back so you can't run away."
"Oh, um, okay..." Internally Child Stone was squealing in delight. She was so excited to be back home! And so they took off, so they can find out the truth.
When Child Stone first landed onto Equestria she was blind. She hadn't seen Celestia's light in forever. But when she got used to it, it was beautiful. She saw trees, animals, and machinery that she had never seen before! "I guess a lot has changed." Commented Child Stone.
"Indeed, I can't recall what year you where sent up there but in the year of 5572 we had a lot of reimagining of what Equestria was like." Child Stone paused and stopped in her tracks.
"It's the year 5572???"
"Um, yes. Why? When where you sent up there? I always forget who and where I banish people too." Child Stone looked down, if her calculations where correct, she had been up there for over 3,000 years.
"How long was I up there?" She started to tear up. Her eyes getting so watery that one tear slipped out. She sat down, realizing everyone she knew had already moved on. Part of her was happy her parents where gone, but then she'd miss her grandparents who where so sweet and kind.
"Child Stone, is everything alright? Have you been left up there for so long that you lost something?"
"Yes, my grandparents. I could never forgive my own parents, though, my grandparents could never forgive them either. I remember them feeding me when I was little. It was nice. But they're gone now, and I couldn't even say goodbye."
Luna sat down next to her. "I know what it's like, to loose someone. You see, I was banished to the moon myself because I was jealous of my sister for being more praised than I. So I rebelled and fought against her, then I was banished. I stayed up there for 1,000 years. Then after that, all of my mortal friends where gone. I felt the same way you do, and nonetheless it could be none of your fault."
"It's not my fault, it's not even yours! It's my parents for misguiding you to believe I was a threat. I just can't believe how much time I spent In oblivion."
"How long was it?"
"Over 3,000 years." Child Stone started to cry but then Luna wrapped her wing around her, truly showing, that she cared.
They got to the doctors office where they check magic for horn problems, Luna asked to be seen soon. They ordered an immediate emergency and they asked them to come this way. Luna then explains the situation to the doctor and asks if it's alright to take off her magic lock just to get samples.
"Sure thing." Luna unlocks it.
"Alright. This is going to hurt for a split second." The doctor warned. He stuck a giant needle into her horn and took samples. Child Stone screamed but then stopped when the needle was out. The doctor put a strong bandage over her horn.
"Alright, good job. Now, let's see if you have dark magic once and for all."
He stuck the paper into the machine. The machine came up with 4 green lights on one side and two red lights on the other. "What's that mean?"
Child Stone asked. "Well, you have basic magic, special stage III magic, and unicorn magic. But you don't have allicorn magic or dark magic. So you are good to go."
Child Stone gasped in delight. She had a huge grin on her face. She couldn't wait to start her life, and now it was finally time. Luna took off the weight from her back and Child Stone was jumping around like a big old jumping bean! She couldn't believe her senses.
"Come with me Child Stone, I'll bring you to somewhere where they'll teach you about everything you need to know."
"Okay! Sure!" Delighted Child Stone. Then she was off, to discover her new life in Canterlot.
After a few days she was already starting to get into the swing of things. New family, new friends, new school. Life was good. At least better than it's ever been. She loved it. Of course there's downsides to being in Equestria. For example the kids in her school tease her for being much older than them, but then that gets outweighed when her foster parents call the school and tell them about the issue. For Child Stone, life isn't easy. However, it sure beats being on the moon for all eternity!
Author's Note
When I first started writing Child Stone, I thought it would be one of my best creations. I first got the idea for Child Stone when I heard Wooden Toaster's song, "Lost On The Moon." It sparked me to ask questions like, how hard was it for Luna? What did she do up there? How did she feel? What kept her sane? And so I put these questions to the test as I was writing this awesome fanfic. Just looking back at what I've created, I can say that this is truly a work of art.
