Prologue
Prologue
“I laid an egg! An egg! I don’t even have the organs to do that!” cried Scootaloo as she showed the massive egg to her two best friends. When in reality the egg was just a bit smaller than an average Dragon’s egg. “Ugh I’m going to kill Spike when I find him,” she said stroking the egg softly. Despite having caused her so much discomfort she loved her little egg baby.
“Find him? Isn’t he at your house?” Applebloom commented with a grunt as she felt her foal kick once again. Her stomach was round with her first foal. She was married to Pipsqueak the owner of Ponyville Daily. “This little one keeps trying to burst out.”
“He’s out hunting again even though he knows I can’t eat meat,” Scootaloo said rolling her eyes.
“He trying to provide again?” Sweetie Belle snickered. She had a little brown newborn foal around her. She was married to Buttonmash and was the sister-in-law to Applebloom. A few years ago Applejack had confessed she had fallen in love with Rarity. While Rarity didn’t feel the same, she still loved one of her best friends. However, over the course of a few months she had begun to see Applejack in a different light. Now they were married with a son and Rarity was almost ready to pop with their second one.
“Yes. We’re just preserving and keeping the meat because he eats it. More than likely the foal will be a meat eater like he is,” she said softly before grabbing her apple cider. “How’s Rarity doing?”
“She’s doing fine and quite honestly I think she’ll get induced tomorrow. This pregnancy hasn’t been easy on her and she’s ready to just have the foal,” Sweetie Belle said dropping a feeding blanket over her so her foal could feed.
Everything was quiet as the mares ate and drank. “Everypony is growing up aren’t they?” Applebloom said.
Sweetie Belle nodded. “Twilight has Thea, Star, and Swirl. Rarity and Applejack has Bucksworthy and the unborn foal. Rainbow Dash has Skyline, Starbeam, and Thunder Breaker. Pinkie Pie Has Cream Cheese, Honey Pie, and Berry Pie. Fluttershy and the Smooze are still trying for a foal, if she can’t get pregnant they’ll just adopt.”
“Can the Smooze get her pregnant? He’s a blob,” Apple Bloom pointed out.
“If it’s possible for our sisters to have biological foals, it’ll be possible for them,” Sweetie Belle pointed out. “There have been hybrids before. Look at Spike and Scootaloo’s egg.”
“I know it’s just hard to wrap my head around,” Apple Bloom said.
“I know. If all else fails they can always turn to Discord,” Sweetie Belle shrugged. She felt something in her saddle bag buzz. Pulling a phone out she hovered it in front of her reading the message. “Dear Celestia!”
“What?” Apple Bloom and Scootaloo said at the same time.
“Rarity has gone into labor!” Sweetie Belle nearly screamed.
“Really?” Apple Bloom shrieked. “Well what are we waiting for? Lets go!”
After cleaning up and after Sweetie Belle got her little foal attached safely in the harness on her side, they rushed out of the malt shop.
“Oh my gracious! She’s so precious!” Sweetie Belle exclaimed seeing a tiny newborn Unicorn filly curled up beside Rarity. It had taken her most of the night to birth to the little filly since her conception hadn’t been traditional. The tiny filly was white like her birth mother and had blonde hair like her ‘father’s’ hair, except it had a purple streak running through it. “Rarity you did a fantastic job,” she said giving her older sister a gentle hug.
“Thank you dearest,” she said sleepily. “Compared to Bucksworthy she was a breeze to deliver.”
“I know you said Bucksworthy felt like he was going to tear you in half,” Sweetie Belle said. Secretly she thanked the goddess that her own foal had been a breeze to deliver.
“It’s those darned Apple genes he has,” Rarity said laying her head down.
“What’s so bad about the Apple genes?” Applejack said trotting into the room with a three-year-old Bucksworthy on her heels. She came up next to Rarity’s bed and gave her a soft kiss. “Sorry I’m late I had to break up a make out session Bucksworthy was in with his boyfriend.”
Rarity smirked. “He has his mother’s charm already.”
“Too soon,” Applejack said scolding the young colt.
“But Papa, you know I love him,” he complained.
“Yeah? Like the last two boyfriends you had?” Applejack shot him a look which shut him up quickly. “It just ain’t right for a youngin to be in a relationship before they can fully understand the meaning of them.”
“But auntie Sweetie Belle got banged when she was still a teenager. So why can’t—” a smack to his mouth shut him up quickly.
“I told you never to repeat that word!” she said raising her voice. “I outta punish the youngin you learned that from and don’t you ever say that again! Your auntie Sweetie Belle wasn’t banged she—” Rarity clearing her throat cut Applejack off. She looked and found her sister-in-law with tears streaming down her face.
“Bucksworthy please escort auntie to the nurse’s station,” she said calmly.
“Yes ma’am,” he said walking up to his aunt and escorting her out of the room.
When they were gone Rarity fixed Applejack with a cold glare. “That was uncalled for. You know Sweetie was raped and that it is still a touchy subject to this day. Yet you still brought it up and right in front of our son. Bucksworthy is still a child. He does not and will not know about that until he is well into his teenage years. Now I forbid you to ever mention it again unless I say it is okay and as punishment you are not allowed to touch Rose unless I say it is okay. Do I make myself clear?”
“But, Rarity—”
“I said do I make myself clear?” She said with an unwavering glare. After that happened to her younger sister, Rarity had gotten intensely protective over her little sister. So when her wife brought it up it ignited a heated anger in her.
“Yes, dear,” Applejack looked to the grown ashamed.
“Now go tell Sweetie you are sorry,” she pointed a well-manicured hoof at the door.
Walking out the door Applejack hung her head in shame.
“Where’s mama?” a little filly with a dark purple coat asked Coal, one of the royal guards she had known her entire life. “I made something in school today and I wanted to give it to her.”
The dark coated stallion got a scowl on his face. He disliked the Princess of Friendship for her purposeful neglect towards the little filly standing in front of him. He didn’t buy into all the ‘oh I’m just so busy’ or ‘I have royal manners to attend to’ bull she spouts out. He would have quit long ago if it hadn’t had been for the little filly. He had been there standing guard when she had been born, had been there through all her milestones, and been there whenever she needed him. She had become like a daughter to him over the years and he tried to protect and comfort her whenever he could. “She’s in a meeting, sweet heart.”
The little filly’s face fell. “She’s always in a meeting whenever I want to see her.”
Coal took pity on her and scooped her up with a foreleg. “It’s alright. I’ll take you to the candy store after I get done with my shift. Would you like that?”
The little filly’s face brightened up. “Yes I would! Thanks Uncle Coal,” she hugged the guard before he sat her town.
He watched her trot off happily the picture for her mother laying forgotten on the ground. “She’s the Crown Princess, Coal. You won’t always be there for her,” said a young female guard. She had a sharp military mane cut and kept her tail bound in standard military style. She had retired from the Royal Marines several years ago, but she had kept the personality and lifestyle. It was rare to see her without her uniform these days.
“You see how the Princess treats her. If somepony didn’t pay attention to that little filly, she’d be laying forgotten in her room,” Coal said stomping on the picture of Twilight angrily.
“I get it; we all know her royal bitchiness has her privileged little snout up her ass. Thea is the Crown Princess. One day she will inherit the throne, but until then she’ll have to wise up and assume the role of being a Princess. I’ve seen royal politics first hoof, it ain’t pretty and I wish that little filly wasn’t a part of it. Sadly, she is and that’s the role she was born in.”
“Somepony craped in your cornflakes didn’t they?” Coal said throwing her a look.
The mare just shrugged. “It’s reality. Plus, everypony who isn’t stupid can see that Twilight got banged on one of her missions and Thea was the result. Twilight just better count her lucky stars that it wasn’t Prince Blueblood,” Coal raised an eyebrow at her and she sighed. “He cornered me one night when I worked at the Blueblood mansion guarding his ailing mother. Getting me trapped in the corner he proceeded to have his way with me. I fought him every step of the way, but he eventually won out.”
“I am so sorry,” Coal said looking at the young mare.
She snorted. “Ever wonder why he always is wearing something?” Coal shook his head. “I managed to dig my dagger down between two vertebrae in his back. Just enough to get him off me and give him a limb for about three months. I only got away with it because I have blackmail on him.”
“You have blackmail on a royal? That’s impressive,” Coal said.
“He’s actually bisexual and has a preference for buff stallions who can easily overpower him. I use that whenever he tries to sue me ore get me under him again. It always works because he doesn’t want it to be common place for ponies to know he likes taking it in both ends. Why are you laughing?” she said watching Coal laughing openly.
“Because that honestly doesn’t surprise me. I always saw him as a little wimp,” he said drying his eyes with his hoof. “Think I could squeeze some of that money out of him?”
“I didn’t think your barn door swung that way Coal,” she said surprised.
“That’s not what I meant!” he said as his cheeks heated up. “I actually have feelings for a certain orange coated and red maned soldier mare,” he said sheepishly looking at her.
It was her turn to blush. “You…you like me?”
“Have for a while now,” he said leaning over to whisper in her ear. “I have a thing for strong independent mares who can take down massive beasts,” her face was entirely blushed behind her helmet. Coal snickered as she punched his shoulder. “So want to come get some candy with me and the little princess?”
“S-sure.”
“Did I just make the soldier stutter?” he playfully mocked.
“Oh shut the hell up,” she snorted and looked away.
He just snickered again and grinned as he assumed his guard duty.
A week later Fluttershy was waiting nervously in Pinkie Pie’s candy shop when a slimy green pony walked into the room. It was The Smooze, Fluttershy’s husband. After marrying Fluttershy he had taken on the shape of a pony in order to fit into Ponyville more and for convenience reasons. Also for some odd reason his slime had gotten darker and he had developed two front facing green eyes like a pony’s. No pony really knew why he had developed eyes, but Fluttershy just guessed it was because he had spent so much time tine Discord’s chaos dimension.
“Fluttershy!” Discord’s voice made the quite mare jump out of her skin. She turned around to find Discord with disgruntled looking Princess Celestia. “I simply couldn’t wait any longer. What’s the news?”
“You’ll have to wait until everypony is here,” Fluttershy said softly. “Are you alright Princess Celestia?” she said noting her look.
“Yes I am, Discord laid an egg yesterday and we had to leave it in the incubation room,” Celestia said.
“How?” Fluttershy began to ask, but stopped herself. This was Discord, she knew everything wasn’t exactly normal with the Lord of Chaos. She, out of all the Mane 6, was used to Discord’s strange powers and biology. “Is the egg viable?”
“Yep! Should have either another foal here in a few days!” Discord said proudly plopping down on a cushion only to find a brown filly with a head full of curly pink locks. “Why this must be Berry Pie!” he said hovering the filly with a magical aura.
The filly giggled and she twirled around in the magical aura. Once she was hanging upside down her messy pink mane fell down to reveal a horn. “Pinkie Pie has a Unicorn?” Celestia questioned. It had been a few years since she had been to Ponyville because of her duties and raising a half-chaotic son. Being married to the Lord of Chaos wasn’t exactly easy and having a half-chaotic son wasn’t exactly easy either.
Discord and Fluttershy nodded. “She also has an Earth Pony son and an Pegasi daughter,” Fluttershy said.
“How is that possible? I thought Cheese Sandwich was an…” she trailed off seeing their looks. “What?”
“It’s Pinkie Pie, enough said,” Discord said. “She’s able to break the 4th wall so it really isn’t a surprise.”
“What’s the…you know what? Never mind I already have the Lord of Chaos to deal with,” Celestia said going over to sit next to him.
“Oh you love me,” he bent over and kissed her forehead. Turning to look at the filly he found her vanished. “Definitely Pinkie Pie’s daughter.”
A few minutes later the rest of the gang showed up with several of their children in tow. The children ran off up into the apartment above the shop. Several hoot steps could be heard over head as everypony got settled down. Pinkie showed up balancing a platter full of refreshments and food to eat. Sitting them down on the table The Smooze squished into the room and sat next to Fluttershy.
Setting down the food Pinkie shared a grin with Fluttershy. “Hey why are the cookies in the shapes of diapers and rattles…No freaking way!” Rainbow Dash yelled shooting a look at the timid light yellow Pegasi. “Are you pregnant?”
Fluttershy blushed and nodded. “I just found out two days ago I was two and a half months pregnant with twins.”
Everypony squealed and came around to hug her, but The Smooze stopped them. “What?”
Since The Smooze could speak vocally he used Telepathy to speak with them. Since my species is from a different dimension we want to take the utmost caution with Fluttershy’s pregnancy. We aren’t sure our children will even make it to birth, but we want to give them the best possible chance. So Fluttershy and I have agreed she will put herself limited activities, no flying, and anything dangerous. Princess Twilight Sparkle this means she cannot attend you on any dangerous missions. However, if she does go on missions I will go with her and care for her.
“This is understandable,” Rarity said as she cradled her week old daughter. Applejack still sat dejected beside her. She had only held her daughter whenever Rarity had permitted it. “Since the conception of Bucksworthy and Rose wasn’t traditional I took the utmost caution when I carried them. I almost lost Bucksworthy once during the pregnancy, but after that I put myself on strict bedrest. So if you need anything Fluttershy do not hesitate to ask.”
“Thank you Rarity.”
“Not a problem, darling.”
There was a silence in the air for a few minutes before Rainbow Dash broke the silence. “Well what are we waiting for? Let’s celebrate the new generation coming on!” she took an apple cider and took a big swing.
