Sunset Shimmer Goes Ice Skating
Sunset Shimmer texts her friends
The door slammed as sunset shimmer entered her apartment. She flung the bag that was across her chest onto the futon and plopped down beside it, rolling on her back and throwing her feet on her bag. She reached to her right and grabbed her phone from the coffee table. She clicked the button to turn it on and a picture of her and her friends flickered on her screen before settling to the still photo. She smiled as she slid the unlock bar to the right. Her fingers tapped in 4 swift movements as she typed in the passcode. The phone went black before it showed her home screen. The first page of apps included her most used apps, such as the camera, a video app, and one of her favorite games. She looked down at a strip of grey at the bottom of the screen. The apps on this bar consisted of the messaging app, the phone app, the settings, and a music app. She opened up the messaging app and went to the group text her friends and her often used to talk together about both magical and non-magical happenings.
There were texts she had missed while working her weekend shift at the Sugarcube Corner. Mostly from pinkie pie sending gifs, some funny some... not so muchg
“Anyone want 2 go ice skating at around 5ish?”
She waited for a reply. After a few minutes of nothing, she got up off the bed and went into the kitchen. She opened the pantry door and looked on on the shelves. At last she found a sutible snack. As she poured the bag of potato crisps into a small glass bowl she pulled out of one of the aubuorn cabbnents, she glanced at the microwave clock. 4:10. Sunset Shimmer sighed. She walked over to her bed, her bowl of crisps in her hand. Her phone had a notification. She tapped the screen and opened up the messaging app and saw her friends had answered her texts.
Rainbow Dash: Sorry, I can’t. Football practices.
Sunset shimmer made a mental list of the people who could come. Rainbow dash was crossed off.
Pinkie Pie: fluttershy and I are baking dog treats till 7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sunset Shimmer did not have any more texts to read, so she opened up her gem swap app. She swiped gems to make groups of three or more. Only 3 moves left. She carfully strategized her next move when a text popped up at the top of the screen. Sunset clicked on the banner. It was applejack
“Sorry, Applebloom and big mac are out and about and Granny needs help with the fixins."
“I guess I’m alone for tonight” she said aloud. "again."
Sunset Shimmer sat in the quiet. She stared at her reflection in the blank screen of her telivision that sat, hanging on the wall infront of her brown futon. She
Shaking her head,She covered herself with her throw and reached for the TV remote. CLICK! The TV hanging on her wall in front of her bed flickered on.
“But what about me?” a little girl whined on the TV. The sound of laughter followed as the girl waddles towards her dad who was holding a small baby. “Am I still the cutest in the house? Because if I'm not I will-“
Sunset shimmer changed the channel to the nature channel. She liked the nature because it reminded her of equestria. Today the program was talking about sperm whales. The voice was soft spoken and talked with a slight accent.
"An adult sperm whale can weigh up to 32,000 pounds." the narrator said as a large whale jumped backwards out of the water, as graceful as a prima ballerina.
Sunset shimmer sat in deep thought as the tall men ran around the court passing ball to each other. The soft moan of the whale was enough to sooth her to sleep. But she was jolted to full consciousness by the sound of a new text. This was from Twilight.
"Are you still up for going skating?"
As soon as sunset read the text, she jumped up, grabbed her white figure skates and ran to the door. She almost forgot her phone but quickly remembered it and turned off the TV. She quickly replied to Twilight’s text.
“Yeah, should I pick you up?” she asked.
An immediate reply came
“Sure.”
Sunset Shimmer walked outside of her apartment and thumped down the stairs. She opened the door to the outside and headed over to her car, waving to her neighbor as he passed her. She opened the door to her car and got in. She checked the time on her phone. 4:32. she put the key in and turned on her red VW beetle. The small car gave a small sputter before starting up. She turned on the radio and put her car in reverse. She looked in her review mirror and pressed on the gas. She backed up until she was far enough to start driving forward. As she turned to the left to drive to Twilight’s house, she tuned the radio to the Christmas station and sang along as she drove through the quiet road. As she pulled up to the small grey house, she turned the radio down. She slowly came to a stop outside of Twilight’s house and got out of the house. She walked up to the white door and knocked. Twilight’s voice rang from the house. “I got it mom!” she called and she hurriedly opened the door. Twilight stood in front of Sunset Shimmer. She was wearing a purple sweater and black jeans. She had furry brown boots.
“Sorry I do not have skates, do they allow you to rent skates?” she asked
Sunset nodded. “Ready to go?” she asked as she gestured to the car.
Twilight smiled shyly and headed toward the beetle.
