Thousands of years in the past

Chased by two alicorns wielding the elements of harmony, Discord ran for his life.

“How did today get so bad?” Discord tried to remember.

Discord had just wanted to relax that day, spread some chaos, sing, and take a nap; But Celestia and Luna had other plans. The sisters attempted an ambush as he was taking a shower, but unfortunately for them,  he discerned the plot. He opened with an attack but the two sisters were determined nonetheless to defeat him and return order to Equestria,.

The battle lasted for hours, but the sisters eventually gained the upperhoof

“THOU SHANT ESCAPE US!”  Roared Celestia, as Discord dodged another blast from the elements.

“JUSTICE NEEDS TO BE DEALT UNTO THEE FOR THINE CRIMES AGANST EQUESTRIA!” Bellowed Luna.

“Come on, I was only joking!” Discord yelled as he ran, barely dodging another blast, and another and another.  Eventually one of them made contact with Discord’s leg, slowly turning him to stone. At the last second before he was petrified, the draconequus snapped his fingers and disappeared, leaving only a trace of smoke.

“Sister, did thou see what we hath just witnessed?”  asked Luna.

“Aye.” said Celestia, solemnly.

The two sisters concluded that Discord had escaped  and decided to scour the globe in pursuit of him. They vowed not to give up until he was brought to justice.

After hundreds of years of cat and mouse, they inevitably succeeded; but by then, society had started to rebuild without them.

The present

The two sisters had eventually settled down, and lived together in a small house in one of the quieter towns.  About 200 years ago, Celestia had decided use her many years of experience to become a teacher. Under her guidance, Celestia’s little school house turned into one of the most famous schools in Equestria.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BE-

“Ugh…” groaned Cadence as she hit the alarm and went back to sleep.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BE-

She hit the alarm again.

Suddenly, Luna barged through the doors “Wake up!”

“I don’t want to…” said cadence, hiding under her pillow.

“Come one, rise and shine!” sang Luna, as she opened the curtains

“Five more minutes…” she said as she hid under her pillow.

“Come on, You'll be late."

"I don't care."

"I made waffles!” sang Luna

“Today is going to be a great day” said Luna, in-between bites.

“You’ll see. You’re getting worked up over nothing” she said encouragingly.

“If you say so.” said Cadence as she finished her breakfast.

“Now, I don’t want to hear any more negativity, alright?” said Luna, as she levitated her plate to the sink.

“Alright Auntie, I better get going before I’m late.”

“OK! Take care sweetie!” said Luna,

“Bye, wish me luck, I’m gonna need it” Said Cadence as she rushed out the door.

“Will do!” said Luna from the doorway.  As she closed the door, she noticed a brown bag on the table. “Wait you forgot your lunch!” She called out, as she ran back to the door.

This was it, Cadence’s first Year at “Celestia’s Solar Sun High School”. It was bad enough changing schools at the senior year, but what made it worse was going to one the most prestigious high schools in Equestria. Her parents had gotten a job that required them to be on the move almost constantly, so she had to stay with her aunts:  Celestia and Luna.  She still needed to go to school and Celestia decided to pull some strings to get Cadence into her school.

The walk to School was especially short considering their house was only a 2 blocks from the school. Though she seen the school from a distance many times visiting her aunt, this was the first time she came as a student, as such she didn’t know what to expect. The school was huge, from a distance it looked almost like a castle, the building had large gates and a gold and ivory color scheme with bluish purple accents.

As she walked into the school’s large court yard. In it She saw a large fountain and many interesting statues, including an odd and grotesque one that looked like it was in agony. It was so ugly, she neglected to pay attention as to where she was walking.

“Watch where you’re going loser!” said the voice of an irritated girl.

”sorry, I wasn’t paying attention” Said Cadence as she rubbed her head with her hoof.

She now cast her gaze at the stranger. The girl she bumped into had black fur, a green mane, tattered wings, a crooked horn and Holes just above her hooves.

”Oh-my-gosh! Oh-my-gosh! Are you all right?!” asked Cadence “Come on we need to take you to the nurse!”

She said as she tugged the stranger by her hoof.

“I’m fine! Let go of me, freak!” Snapped the girl, as she got up “Weirdo!” she yelled as she walked away

“I’m Barley here for five minutes, and I’ve already messed up” sighed Cadence as she got up.

“wow, you really got her mad. You alright?” said a friendly voice.

“Yeah, I’m fine.” Said Cadence. “Thanks for asking”.

She turned around to see a friendly looking, purplish mare. The mare had braces, a frizzy pink mane, and legwarmers.

“You’re new here aren’t you?” Said the stranger

“Yes, I Am. Is it really that obvious?” said Cadence.

“Yep, most ponies here know well enough to stay away from ‘queen’ Chrysalis.”

“Is that who that was? I’m sorry”.Said Cadence

“Don’t be” said the stranger. “She may be the most popular girl in school, but I don’t think anypony here really likes her”

“Well, that makes me feel a bit better. I’m Cadence by the way.”

“I’m Cherilee”

“Thanks, I guess I’ll be going now” said Cadence.

“You sure you don’t need a guide? After all, this place is pretty big, I got lost a few times when I first got here.”

“Uh, sure. I’d like that.” said Cadence

“ OK then, just stick with me and I’ll show you around!” Said Cherilee.

“Thanks!”

“No problem, I was new here once myself” said Cherilee”I know what it’s like. So, do you know what classes you’re taking?” she asked.

“Umm, yeah” said Cadence, as she said as she levitated a sheet out of her saddle bags

“Alright then, it looks like you’re sharing most of your classes with me, and a few with some of my friends”

The bell rang, signaling the students to get to class.

“Come on, Follow me!” said Cherilee.
