Let's Be Royals
Chapter 3: Seeking Advice

Twilight is uncomfortable with the treatment she was receiving. She tries to be polite and accepts the aid of the servants, even though she doesn't need it.
True, she always had Spike to help her around the palace, but he was her assistant, not her servant.
"More water, your majesty?"
"No thank you... I have plenty, really." Twilight says as she tries to avoid making eye contact with the servant.
It is starting to get annoying, the treatment. With every sip Twilight takes from her glass, a servant is at the ready to refill it. Celestia notices the discomfort in Twilight's eyes, the silent call for help.
"That will be all." Celestia says to the servants. "Would you leave us, please?"
The servants quickly collect themselves and give the princesses a short bow.
"Of course, your majesties. Call when you need us." The staff leader says.
With those words hanging in the silent air, the servants retreat into the kitchen, leaving Twilight and Celestia alone at the dining table.
"Are you alright, Twilight?" Celestia asks, breaking the silence. "You seem... upset."
"I'm not, princess, I promise." Twilight says quickly. "I just... Don't you think this is all a bit much? The food, the air ship... I mean, if I didn't know you as well as I do now, I'd say you are trying to impress me."
Celestia stays quiet,
"This... is great. It really is, princess, but I thought this trip would be like the ones we used to take together when you first took me under your wing, just you and me."
Celestia exhales slowly as she prepares herself to speak.
"I... I see your point, Twilight, and I apologize for not seeing it sooner. I simply thought if I could show you the best of what royalty has to offer, you might find adjusting to your royal life to be a bit easier."
"I suppose a life like yours takes a few thousand years to get used to..." Twilight says harshly as she stands up from the table.
The words strike Celestia in a way that makes her chest hurt.
"W-Where are you going, Twilight?" She asks as the purple mare makes for the corridor.
"The room..." Twilight mutters. "I'm going to bed."
Celestia winces as the door slams shut, which causes the plates and forks to shudder. She sits in silence for a few moments, contemplating on what her next move should be. Then, she signals for the servants.
"Yes, your majesty?" The staff leader asks. "What is it you need?"
"I need some ink and parchment." Celestia requests.
Within moments, the items she requests arrive at the table. After a moment of thinking, Celestia begins to write.
*My dear sister, Luna,
I have come a cross a problem in my quest for Twilight Sparkle's heart. I have not told her how I truly feel, but I have made her quite upset with me due to my own actions. I am lost, and I do not know how to regain her favor. What can I do?
Celestia sends the letter, watching as the paper disappears into a thin, green mist. She doesn't have to wait long. A response from Luna arrives just moments after sending the initial letter. It reads:
*My dear sister, Celestia,
Whatever has been done to upset Twilight, I'm sure it can be undone. She looks up to you, more than you may realize. As for your true feelings, do not hide them! You must not hide your intentions any longer. If you truly love Twilight Sparkle, you must tell her. If you do not, she may find another pony to tell her those words. You must tell her, sister. I wish you the best of luck.
Celestia reads Luna's letter over and over again. Her younger sister's command replays in her mind like a broken record.
"You must tell her, Celestia..." The princess mutters to herself. "You... have to tell her... Tell her you love her..."
Celestia crumples the letter as she stands up from the table.
"Go after her, and tell her how you really feel..."
The princess continued to mutter to herself as she trots down the corridor. The royal chambers were at the end of the corridor. The door is slightly open. Celestia reaches for the door, but she hesitates at the last moment.
"You... You can do this..." She mutters as she reaches for the door again.
This time, she successfully manages to tap her hoof against it.
"Twilight?" Celestia asks softly, pushing the door further open. "May... I come in?"
Twilight was laying on her bed with her back facing the door.
"It's your air ship..." Twilight grumbles. "You can go wherever you please..."
"Though it is my ship, I still respect the privacy of my friends..." Celestia says with her motherly tone as she approaches Twilight.
Twilight remains motionless, even as Celestia sits on the edge of the bed.
"Twilight, I must confess something to you..." The princess says, her voice breaking. "I have... lied to you."
This gets Twilight's attention, causing the purple mare to sit upright in the bed.
"Wh-What do you mean?"
Celestia lets out a heaving sigh before continuing.
"When... I told you why I brought you on this ship to journey with me to Manehattan, I was not completely honest. It is true, that I want you to be the best princess you can be, that is not the real reason I orchestrated this trip. The real reason I brought you here... is... so I may tell you something I have always desired to tell you."
"What is it, princess?" Twilight asks.
Celestia bites her lower lip. Twilight's eyes are burning into her own. Though it is not hot, the princess sweats. Celestia finds that she is at a loss for words. She fails to speak.
"Princess?" Twilight asks again.
Celestia tries to speak, but her throat closes, and no words come out. Twilight looks back and forth between her mentor and the bed sheets. The silence is beginning to make her uncomfortable.
"If you have nothing to say, I will be going to bed, and-"
Twilight's sentence is cut off. At first, she does not know why. Then, she begins to feel the warmth on her lips. It feels really warm... and wet. Then, she realizes how close the princess' face is to her own. Her mind finally manages to form the word: kiss.
Celestia falls on top of Twilight, pressing her lips against those of the purple mare. Twilight doesn't resist, and she doesn't protest. After a few moments of locking lips, Twilight's eyes begin to close as the kiss deepens. When Celestia breaks the kiss, a thick strand of saliva connects their lips.
"Wow..." Twilight mutters. "I... I was not expecting that..."
Celestia smiles.
"The real reason I brought you here, was to tell you how I truly feel about you..." Celestia whispers into Twilight's ear. "I love you, Twilight Sparkle."
