Chapters Chapter1:The beginning of a wonderful year
A whistle sounded at the Dash household. Prism woke up lazily and looked over at the calendar.
"It's the first day of school."Prism bounced out of bed and did her hair. She just put it in a simple braid seeing as she wasn't much for beauty.
"Mama,daddy it's the first day of school," Prism said as her older brother and sister fought over a cookie for what had to be the hundredth time.
"You pig,at least I have the decency to limit myself to one cookie and you go and eat half the jar," Lightning said as she pursued Thunder in the air.
"Well I don't see your name on it so come and get it prissy princess,"he teased as he was chased around the room by Lightning.
"Oh you're gonna pay." Rainbow walked in to see her children flying around like crazy. She growled,
"STOP SETTING A BAD EXAMPLE FOR YOUR LITTLE SISTERS!!!,"this caught the twins attention,"now Thunder give Lightning her cookie, and stop eating them behind my back. Prism, Cumulus go wake up your lazy father and make sure you have everything you need." Rainbow was tired of all the fighting. She heard a scream coming from Midnight,
"I told you not to put pencils in my horn!" Typical. Her daughters and her husband walk into the room. The changeling had a pencil stuck in his horn. He walked over to Rainbow and gave her a look that said help me .
"Mom! I can't find my-hey! Give my book back Cumulus," Prism yelled.
"But it's mine,it's in Braill-oh it IS yours,"said Cumulus as she handed Prism her book back. Prism opened her bag, and a bad smell came out.
"Um what's that smell," Rainbow Dash said as she checked the kitchen.
"Mom the smell is coming from my bag." Rainbow walked over to Prism and looked through her saddlebags. Rainbow cringed as she pulled out a stink bomb. Lightning and Thunder snickered.
"Thunder,Lightning! Drop and give me twenty!" Rainbow commanded. Midnight sighed as he saw the twins do twenty push ups.
"Mom we're going to be late for school!" Prism yelled as she ran out the door.
"Woah, Prism you know that you can't fly. Hey same for you Cumulus!"
"I don't fly because you won't let me but I can fly!"
"Well what do you expect when I'm overprotective and you're blind!"
"Um can't we just go to school,"
"Well if we're talking about flying might as well bring up that RAINBOW DASH the best flyer in all of equestria, won't let her daughter get an inch off the ground!!!"
"Um guys we're going to be late."
"Oh so now it's disrespect."
"WHY CAN'T WE JUST GO TO SCHOOL." This caught everyone's attention.
"She's right,both of you get on my back."
"Actually can I carry Prism." Rainbow smiled and pushed Prism towards her father. Prism gladly got on Midnights back and within a second the family was in the air.
"Hey Lightning can you clear the eastern edge of Ponyville."
"Sure can Thunderlane." With that said a clap of thunder sounded in the distance. Lightning rolled her eyes and flew over to the eastern side of Ponyville.
"Hey Lightning," Screwball said while floating around a rain cloud. Lightning made a squeak as Screwball changed her coat color. Thunder came flying out of nowhere and started laughing hysterically when he saw Lightning's cyan coat changed to pink. Groaning, Lightning continued busting clouds.
Prism gulped as she got off of her dad's back. Rainbow knew that she was nervous and helped her balance when she touched the ground.
"Everything will be fine. Also please take care of your sister, you know how she gets when some pony comments about her eyes. Love you, bye have a good day at school." Prism took Cumulus by the hoof and dragged her to the steps of the school.
"I'm still wondering how we have kids without a messed up horn or something, I get the green eyes but they aren't like a changelings eyes," Midnight commented as he watched them go.
"I guess we just got lucky and they took mostly after me. I'm glad that they won't be picked on because of their looks." With that Midnight and Rainbow took off to the eastern bit of Ponyville.
"Um miss Cheerilee um Cumulus is sensitive about comments on her eyes," Prism said.
"Don't worry I know." Prism nodded and dragged Cumulus inside with her. She found two empty seats in the back of the room and walked towards them. She made Cumulus take the corner seat and took the seat next to her.
"Okay class turn to the pony next to you and introduce yourself." All the foals in the room did as they were told. Cumulus turned to Prism and introduced herself. Prism rolled her eyes and did the same. Turning to the right Prism found an indigo colt with a black mane and tail and blue eyes.
"Hi I'm Prism and my aunt Scootaloo is a dancer." The colt stared for a bit than said,
"I'm Winter Wind and my mom is a snowflake maker in the Cloudsdale weather factory, also your wings are smaller than mine." As he said this Prism lowered her head in shame. He was about to apologize when miss Cheerilee told everyone to stop talking and listen,
"Okay everypony, we will start with the little filly in the back corner. Now wait for a second and let me do mine first. Hi everypony, my name is Miss Cheerilee and I'm a happy teacher here at the schoolhouse, now you may come up and state your name and something interesting about yourself or your family."
"Hello my name is Cumulus and my mom,my sister and I love to ice skate every winter." With that Prism got up and Cumulus sat down.
"M-my n-n-nam-me is-s Pr-pris-sm and m-my aunt Sc-Scootaloo is-s and-danc-cer." Prism sat down and Winter wind came up. This continued for awhile but Prism didn't pay attention to the rest of the introductions. When they were finished Miss Cheerilee started the lesson. Prism did her work quietly and occasionally helped Cumulus with hers. When the lunch and recess bell rang and Prism made sure that she and Cumulus were the last ones out. When they were walking out a bucket of red paint spilled on Prism's head. She looked around and saw Winter Wind smirking. She quietly ate her lunch and plotted about how to get him back.
"Um can I go play," Cumulus asked as they finished their lunch.
"Sure, just wait for me real quick." Prism packed up her lunch and put it in her saddle bags. As soon as she was done she asked Cumulus where she wanted to go. When she said swings she saw that only one was available so she lead Cumulus over to it. Cumulus sat down and asked for a tiny push. Prism smiled and got up to push her when a rock hit her leg.
"Hey who threw that!" she asked
"Who threw what."
"Nothing Cumulus." Prism got on her hind legs to push Cumulus. She continued to sit and push Cumulus until the bell rang to signal that recess was over. She stopped Cumulus and got her off the swing. Miss Cheerilee continued the lesson. Prism kept feeling pricks of paper poking her side. She didn't lash out or get irritated, she just continued her work until the day was done. Prism once again made sure that they were the last to leave, not because she was scared, but she wanted to watch the prank that she set up. SPLASH! A bucket of orange paint came crashing down on Winter Wind. Prism snickered as did Cumulus. Prism dragged Cumulus out the door and saw Rainbow and Midnight standing there laughing their heads off. Prism walked up to them, Cumulus still in tow. Whe Rainbow saw Prism she gasped.
"Honey what happened? Why are you covered in red paint?" Prism simply pointed to Winter. Rainbow snickered as she figured out how that bucket of paint came crashing down on the colt. Midnight sighed as he crouched to let Prism on his back. They took off and once again a rock hit Prism.
"Ow." Midnight looked at her when they landed. Rainbow opened the door to see, exhausted Lightning and Thunder. She smiled as they walked in. Thunder looked up,
"What happened to your mane Prism?" He got his answer when she sat down and told them everything that happened that day. When she finished Thunder and Lightning were in hysterics.
"Come on Prism lets wash that paint out," Rainbow said as she lead Prism upstairs. Cumulus asked about the twins day. The twins looked at each other and groaned.
"Come on Prism get in the shower I'll help wash it out!" Rainbow yelled as she tried forcing Prism in the tub. Prism gave in and got in the shower. After hours of scrubbing they got the paint out.
"Geez, I would have been happy if you got dumped when you were leaving. How long did you say that was in there?"
"Three and a half hours." Prism's stomach growled. Rainbow lead them downstairs to see everyone eating.
"Finally, what were you scrubbing in there?!" Thunder exclaimed as he saw them coming down. Rainbow rolled her eyes and sat down. Prism hesitated knowing that she would have to tell them everything that happened that day. After a few seconds she sat down.
"So you care to tell what you did at school Prism?" Midnight asked as she sat down.
"Well I got a bucket of paint spilled on me,a rock thrown at me and an annoying neighbor who won't stop poking me." Prism saw Cumulus's face and quickly added," don't worry it was Winter Wind not you Cumulus." Cumulus sighed in relief.
Chapter 2:Pranks and powers
Prism had been woken up by something shaking her. She looked up and saw her slightly older sister, Cumulus.
"What's wrong Cue?" Prism got up and yawned.
"I heard something coming from the living room," Cumulus replied rather slowly.
"Honestly, why are you still scared of this? It's probably just an open window, come on let's check it out and prove that its nothing." Prism grabbed her sister and went down the stairs. Seeing nothing at first, Prism was about to brag, then something scurried passed her tiny figure. Prism froze, alerting Cumulus.
"Sis, what's wrong," her answer came as something grabbed Prism.
"AHHHHHHHHH!!! MAMAAAAAA!!!." Rushing down the stairs Rainbow saw something grabbing Prism and was about to fight when she noticed them snickering quietly. Rolling her eyes she flipped a light switch. Thunder and Lightning were pulling Prism's hind legs. She saw Prism's tear streaked face and smacked both Lightning and Thunder.
"Do you two realize what could've happened to you had I not saw you two snickering, one things for sure, YOU COULD BE IN THE HOSPITAL RIGHT NOW!!!" Midnight came down and saw the scene. Rainbow glared at him,
"Well it took you long enough to get down here," Rainbow yelled.
"Let's just go to bed and not worry about punishments 'till morning,"he yawned. As the twins and Cumulus followed the orders, Rainbow was still holding a terrified Prism in her arms. Still shaking, Prism walked upstairs. When Prism was tucked back in for the night she tried to sleep but she couldn't. Seeing that she was getting nowhere with trying to sleep she decided to figure out a prank for revenge. She didn't know if Cumulus was in on it so she decided just to prank the twins.
After a few hours of planning Prism was satisfied with the prank. Looking over at her clock she saw that it was 2:04 in the morning. Deciding to set up the prank that night she gathered all the materials and set to work in front of the twins door. Prism was glad to see that the prank was finished. She went back to her room to see the sunrise through her window. Prism brushed her long hair and stuck a blue bow in it. Brushing her teeth she wondered if using string instead of rope was a good idea. When she finished she found the whistle that she got for her fourth birthday and ran out of her bedroom. As she opened her parents room she blew the whistle as loud as she could. Rainbow woke up and fell out of the bed, Midnight on the other hoof just sat up. Prism chuckled and didn't notice her mother's glare.
"You're gonna pay for that!" Prism ran out the door on instinct and ran into one of the guest rooms,which was conveniently located in front of the twins bedroom. She heard them arguing about who was going to use the bathroom. Of course Lightning won. When she heard hoofsteps closing in on the door she made it so that the door was opened only a crack. The twins stepped out and slipped on a few marbles causing them to crash into a target. The target triggered a few baseball bats that barely missed the twins heads. When they thought they were safe and stood up, a bucket of glue poured on their heads and shortly afterwards a bucket of pink glitter was dumped on their heads. Unfortunately the glue was quick to dry and they were already late for work.
"Bye mom, bye dad! Me and Lightning are going to work!"
"Okay have a good day sweeties!" They sighed and walked out the door. What they didn't notice while they were being pranked, was that they were being filmed. Prism chuckled and went to help Cumulus find her stuff. Rainbow and Midnight walked downstairs to see both their daughters eating cereal. They looked up and hugged their parents.
"Prism, you still know that I'm going to get you back for scaring me, right?" At that Prism shoved her mom and hopped on her dad's back yelling at him to move. Midnight rolled his eyes and flew down to the schoolhouse, Rainbow following slowly after with Cumulus on her back. Surprisingly they were the first to arrive. Cumulus and Prism waved goodbye to their parents and approached Miss Cheerilee. Before they went inside Prism showed Miss Cheerilee the film that she recorded of the prank. She chuckled and told them to go inside. Prism grinned as she dragged Cumulus to their seats. Prism and Cumulus sat down. Cumulus lifted her ear as she heard the familiar sound of cutting. She looked over at Prism and asked,
"Whatcha doin." Prism sighed as she told her that she was making Rainbow Dash a present for her birthday. Cumulus gasped,
"I completely forgot!" She set to work on a messy looking, paper cut-out. Compared to the present that she was making, Cumulus's present looked bad. The bell rang and a cluster of foals came piling in. Quickly Prism and Cumulus hid their presents in their saddlebags. Once again, Prism was dumped with a bucket of paint but this time it was purple. Prepared she pulled a string and Winter Wind had a bucket of glue poured on him and shortly after a bucket of heart-shaped pink glitter. Prism pulled the string off of her hoof and threw it quietly to the front of the room. Miss Cheerilee saw a string connected to Winter's hoof and said,
"Winter Wind did you do this to Prism?" He gulped and slowly nodded.
"Which one of you pulled the prank on Winter then?" she followed the other string to Grapefruit's desk,"Grapefruit did you do this?" Grapefruit quickly shook her head. Cherilee sighed and told her to stay after school.
"Hahahaha!" Thunderlane was laughing his head off when he saw the twins. Screwball joined in shortly after. Lightning continued to place the rainclouds throughout Ponyville. Thunder was one laugh away from pounding them when his parents came. Rainbow just stay their in the air mouth agape in shock and Midnight brushed it off and snapped her out of it. Rainbow laughed along with Screwball and Thunderlane.
"I'm going to kill Prism!" That caught the attention of many ponies in the area,especially Rainbow Dash.
"She did this! Wow she is good." Screwball curiously made a window to the past and watched it along with Rainbow, Midnight, the twins and Thunderlane. When the film finished Rainbow said,
"The poor thing got no sleep BECAUSE YOU TWO SCARED HER TOO MUCH AND TO THE POINT TO WHERE THE ONLY THING SHE COULD DO WAS SIT ON HER BED AWAKE IN FEAR OF SOMETHING HAPPENING!!! I'm kinda proud that she didn't go as far as I would've and you two deserve to be humiliated in public!" and just like that Rainbow flew to the other side of town in a blur. Midnight was kind of upset as well but didn't start to yell like his wife.
Prism and Cumulus once again were last to the recess field.
"Hey half-ling, bat come over here!" Winter Wind yelled, catching the attention of many students,"you two are descendants of a changeling, so why don't you go ahead and change form huh?"
"Leave my sister out of this! Anything you would do to her you will instead do to me!" Prism yelled.
"Okay,b-I mean Cumulus! Get out of this!" Prism couldn't believe it, they actually listened to her.
"Okay so answer my question you dumb half-ling! Why don't you change form and suck the love and power out of us! Go ahead! We're waiting!" Prism was about to say that she couldn't when she accidentally changed into his mother. She looked around and saw everyone's mouth agape,except for Winter's his was in a smirk.
"Oh hi mother, I thought that you were dead. Ahh you're a zombie. Ahhahahaha." He lay on the ground in laughter. Prism changed back when the bell rang.
The last bell of the day rang signaling the students to leave. Miss Cheerilee kept Grapefruit inside with her and asked her mother to stay as well.
"Hey half-ling! I dare you to change into my mother again!" Winter Wind said this while Rainbow Aand Midnight were standing their causing them to be wide eyed. Cumulus went straight to Rainbow and Prism did as she was dared. Rainbow fainted while Midnight ran over to Prism.
"How did you do that,"he asked
"Um duh because she's a half-ling! Hahahahahaha!" Winter Wind trotted off with his father. Midnight started crying and hugged his daughter, it was just then when he noticed his wife had fainted and that Prism was covered in purple paint. He shook his wife. Rainbow shot up questioning what had just happened. They flew home in shock (well mostly) and we're now considering testing all the children when they got home. Landing on the clouds they opened the door seeing a now clean Lightning and Thunder sitting at the table.
"Okay Lightning stand up and imagine that you're changing into your mother," Lightning did as told and nothing happened,"Thunder do the same just try turning into me," once again nothing. They tried this on Cumulus, same result. They tried this on Prism as well just to make sure it wasn't an illusion.
"Okay Prism try turning into your mother." She did as told and succeeded. The twins gasped. Cumulus and Rainbow cried.
"Why is it just you," asked Midnight as if he would get an answer. Prism sniffled,
"Because I'm a half-ling!" she shouted and ran upstairs. The family was shocked to see her shout.
"You know, I still don't feel sorry for her,"Lightning whispered to Thunder, he silently agreed.

Chapter 3:Sticks and stones may break my bones
Prism woke up and did her usual routine, just without the happiness element added. Lazily she braided her hair again and put a black and green how on. She slowly walked downstairs not waiting for her moms morning whistle. She sat down and changed into tank (the turtle) when the whistle blew signaling the start of the day. Rainbow walked downstairs and saw tank she grabbed him only to be greeted by him changing into Prism. Rainbow was reminded of the day before. She made some pancakes and sat down with Prism to eat when the others came down (the twins were happy). Midnight sat down next to Prism and ate at his normal pace. He noticed that she was eating slower than usual. When she finished she put her plate in the sink and put on her saddlebags. Midnight put her on his back and waited for Rainbow Dash and Cumulus. They flew out the door and landed at the schoolhouse. Saying their byes the girls walked inside.
"Rainbow I noticed a slight change in mood for our family."
"No kidding! Prism barely speaks and hasn't smiled all day, Cumulus is more concerned and the twins are happier." This made Midnight frown. He loved his daughter and seeing her like this was worse than her being hurt. At least wounds heal but feelings never completely heal. He let a single tear escape his eye.
Prism slowly walked inside to the point where Cumulus was already at her seat. This confused the class almost as much as the frown and black and green bow. Prism hated to wear that color. Winter Wind smiled. He saw her sit down,
"Hey half-ling," he whispered," you look ugly." Not a falter in movement or a twitch. He was concerned now,what have I done. I can't ruin my new reputation. Hopefully Cumulus or a friend can snap her out of it , he thought.
Throughout the day Prism didn't even speak, much to the confusion of the class and Miss Cheerilee. A magenta pony in the front of the class whispered to the blue pony next to her,
"Hey Blueberry, at recess do you think we can cheer that Prism girl up?"
"Maybe, Rasberry what if it's permanent and we can't fix it."
"Well let's just try our best," said the red one on the other side of Rasberry. They all agreed and waited for the recess bell to ring.
All the foals ran outside excluding Prism. The mini pinkie pies went over to her.
"Hey you okay,"asked Blueberry.
No response
"Can we be your friends," asked the red one.
Ears perked up
"I'm Raspberry."
"I'm Blueberry."
"I'm Cherry."
"And we are the tri-pies,"they said in unison.
"I'm Prism"
"Sorry I didn't hear you," said blueberry
"Prism," said Cumulus from behind,"are you alright."
"Hey half-ling, go ahead and change form, go on change," said Winter Wind. Prism burst into tears and ran outside as soon as the bell rang, surprising Miss Cheerilee.
"Sis wait," Cumulus called as she attempted to follow after Prism but was held back by Miss Cheerilee.
The bell rang and Miss Cheerilee and Cumulus ran out to find Rainbow Dash and Midnight Wonder. Spotting them Miss Cheerilee ran over still dragging Cumulus.
"Mr and Mrs.Dash do you by any chance have Prism at home or behind you?"
"What are you talking about?"
"She ran off when the bell rang signaling that recess was over. She ran of crying right after being called a half-ling," explained Miss Cheerilee.
"Oh no! She was a little over emotional after what happened yesterday I should have let her stay home," said Midnight sobbing. Rainbow was tearing up. Miss Cheerilee suggested telling Twilight and Rainbow gladly agreed.
"But it's we need to get the twins." With that said Rainbow took off, returning a few seconds later dragging an unamused Lightning and an irritated Thunder along with her. The twins weren't told the issue.
"What's the big deal mom!"
"Yeah why did you drag us over here." Rainbow explained the situation. When she finished the expression on the twins faces hadn't changed. She groaned. Midnight teleported them to Twilight's house causing a surprised look on Cheerilee's face. Rainbow stepped up and knocked rapidly. Twilight opened the door,
"Hi Rainbow what can I...."
"It's Prism! She ran off during class and we don't know we're she went!" Rainbow started crying.
"Don't worry we'll help you, SPIKE COME DOWN HERE!!!"
"Right here," he said when he saw Rainbow he added,"what happened to her?" Twilight face-hoofed and told him the problem. He sent a letter to all of the towns residents and zecora explaining the problem
Prism kept running with her eyes closed when she felt a drop of rain. It burned, not rain, acid rain. She ran using her wings to guide her through what she felt to be a forest. She ran into something. Opening her eyes she looked up and saw a timber wolf. She let out a scream and ran around it. Lightning struck a tree causing it to fire up. She kept running when a tree fell on her hind leg. Not really caring she pushed it off and ran as best she could on three legs. The timber wolf chased her and wouldn't slow down. She ran and saw Zecora's hut and knocked rapidly. No pony answered. She gulped and looked behind her and saw the timber wolf. She ran around it surprising the wolf. She came up with an idea she changed into a timber wolf and pretended to try and run out of the forest.
"Hey which way's out." She was surprised and said back,
"I forgot, I'll go this way and you go that way."
"Got it." He ran, so did she. She ran as fast as she could and got to a clearing. She settled down and changed back to herself. She got back up seeing the castle of the two sisters. Not even thinking about the bridge she seeked shelter. The bridge snapped. She fell. She landed on her two hind hooves and her right fore hoof. She had only one good hoof. She tried moving and felt a pain in her wing. Looking back she saw it. She nearly puked. She did the only thing that she knew,
"SOMEPONY PLEASE HELP ME!!!"
Midnight heard a scream coming from Prism.
"She's in the forest!" Rainbow gasped and flew over the flaming forest when she heard it,
"SOMEPONY PLEASE HELP ME!!!" She flew to where the sound came from. Seeing the castle and the broken bridge which she swore that she fixed. She went down in the ditch and saw her baby coughing and choking on the smoke. She pushed a flaming tree off of her daughter and grabbed her. She screamed in pain. Rainbow tried to be delicate and sped off towards the hospital. She pushed open the door and screamed for a doctor. When Dr.Stable came and put Prism on a stretcher, Rainbow was on the ground sobbing. Her friends and family came in to comfort her. She cried,
"This is all his fault! If that stupid colt hadn't called her a half-ling then none of this would've happened!" Midnight hugged her and said,
"I'll talk to Cheerilee and see if we can hold a meeting with his parents." Rainbow got up and sat down.
"Hey where's half-ling! She gonna change into my dead mother again? Hahahaha." Rainbow fumed,
"No she's not because of YOU she may not even live through this! Because of you she has at the very least, three broken hooves, a broken wing, at least one dislocated shoulder and maybe just maybe a new allergy or asthma problems. You are a selfish jerk who put my daughters life in danger! You better watch out cuz we ARE going to get even! So shut it and get out of here!" Rainbow was about to kill Winter Wind when the doctor walked up to her and shook his head. Rainbow twitched in anger.
"Prism is not stabilized and can barely breathe. Her heart rate is dangerously low and we can't block all the blood that threatens to spill. It's going to be hard to heal her and she will need a wheelchair if she gets out of the hospital." Rainbow glared daggers at Winter. He got the message and ran out of the hospital as quickly as he could. She nodded and sat down with her friends.
Chapter 4:road to recovery
Prism woke up on a hospital bed. She looked around and saw her mother asleep on the chair beside her bed. Prism was thinking about waking her up to ask about what happened when the doctor trotted in. He smiled,
"Well I see that you've waken up." Rainbow shot up and looked over to Prism. She smiled and carefully hugged Prism.
"I'm so sorry, Prism," sobbed Rainbow," I never meant for this to happen." Prim hugged her mom. She needed to stay in the hospital for tonight just in case she isn't completely stabilized.
"I brought you an arts and crafts kit to pass the time,"said Rainbow as she held a box out to Prism.
"Although I'm not going anywhere I thought that just sitting here would be boring." Rainbow nuzzled her little filly.
"Somepony here named Prism?" Rainbow pointed to Prism," special delivery from....um doesn't say." The mailpony said as he handed Prism her package. She waited until he was gone to open it. Inside was an art kit, sketch pad, a stuffed bear and a note which read:
Dear Prism,
I will pound whoever did this to you. I'm glad you're alive and can't wait for you to come back to school. I will give no clues indicating who I am. I love you.
Prism had wide eyes as she read it.
"Prism what did it say?" Prism quickly hid the note and blushed. Rainbow glared and held out her hoof. Prism sighed and hesitantly handed over the note. Rainbow read the note her eyes going wide.
"Do you know who this might be."
"No, it may be a prank, you never know." Rainbow rolled her eyes and sat down.
After everypony was asleep Prism took out her art kit and started to make a second present for her mother. She brought her sewing kit out to finish her first present. Satisfied she made some wrapping for her presents. She patterned the wrapping with lightning bolts and clouds. She wrapped the present and hid it in the stash of the get well presents she got. Drifting off to sleep she dreamt about who that present was from.
Everypony woke up to the doctor saying that Prism could go home. They smiled and got all of Prisms stuff and headed out the door. Prism felt really awkward being in a wheelchair, she was being pushed out the door by her mother, she hated not being able to walk or stand up on her own. Although she couldn't walk or stand she was still able to prank. Her parents and siblings were unaware of this and wouldn't blame her for any of the pranks that were pulled on them.
Though Midnight was suspicious he didn't argue. Prism was pushed in her wheelchair to their cloud house when Prism spotted a black tail protruding from the bushes. Not thinking of it she looked at the scenery. Her mother brought her to the patch of land under the cloud house. Rainbow picked up the small wheelchair and flew up to the cloud and landed. Prism was afraid that she would sink through the clouds, but she didn't. Her mother smiled and opened the door.
Lightning and Thunder were hoof-wrestling in the living room. When Rainbow walked in she saw them and immediately tore the two apart. Seeing Prism, they groaned as she tried to figure out how to move the wheelchair with one hoof. When she figured it out she moved forward and greeted the twins. They smiled, but Prism new it was a fake one due to the shape of the eyes and mouth. Asking about how she would be able to go upstairs, Prism got her answer when her mom told her that a charm was put on the chair making it suitable for a pegasus who lives in the clouds. Prism smiled as she tried it. Rainbow saw Cumulus glaring at the chair for some reason. Going over she patted Cumulus on the head. Sighing Cumulus went to hug Prism. She rolled over to the window and smiled, home at last. I missed this place, I can't wait to go back to school and show all my friends the new wheelchair. Prism stole a glance at the clock and realized that she had school tomorrow.
"Mama, I'm going to bed."
"Okay see you in a bit. Just gotta talk to these two about their day." Prism nodded and made her wheelchair float up the stairs. Rainbow looked over at the twins and glared.
"Why are you two always so mean to your little sister," she asked sourly
"We're nice to Cumulus," Thunder defended.
"Not Cumulus, Prism. You scare her at nights, you didn't even show up at the hospital when she was hurt, and to top it off you had no sympathy for her when she found out about her changeling powers."
"First of all, aren't siblings supposed to have fun with each other, secondly, the weather team couldn't have all of the Dash's slacking off at work and last, we already knew," Lightning defended.
"Oh really, when's her birthday?" This caught the twins off guard. Pacing they started guessing,
"April 20th."
"December 2nd."
"July 17th."
"February 27th." Rainbow face-hoofed and told them,
"April 8th." The twins blanked. Cumulus wandered down stairs and saw them. She laughed as she heard the twins voices throwing out random dates and decided to go back upstairs. Rainbow looked at them angrily and said,
"Be nicer to Prism, okay." The twins nodded. Rainbow went upstairs as she was followed shortly after by the twins.
"Okay so let's be nicer to her around mom, dad and Cumulus but not change our act when it's just her. With or without her friends." Thunder nodded at his sisters suggestion. She smiled and slowly crept out the door and gestured for her brother to follow. Looking through the hallway they stepped out and walked over to Prism's room. Lightning quietly opened the door and crept in. Thunder did the same and closed the door behind him.
Lightning went over to Prism and shook her awake. Prism woke and expected it to be Cumulus, but was surprised when she saw the twins.
"Okay we're here to make a deal okay." Prism nodded.
"Okay, we be nice to you around mom, dad and any other family including our aunts. Only catch is that we won't change our actions when you are alone or with a friend that isn't considered a cousin. Got it?" Prism thought the deal over, if she was alone they would be snotty and mean, but she is normally around other ponies so they would be nice to her most of the time.
"Deal." With that the twins walked out the door and softly closed it. Prism smiled satisfied with her choice. She hadn't thought over the one catch, she was alone at night. She went to sleep hoping that she wouldn't wake up in the middle of the night because of a prank.

Chapter 5:Birthday bashes and party crashers
Prism woke up at 4:30 and looked over at the calendar. Saturday, not just any Saturday, it was Rainbow Dash's birthday. Prism shot up and went over to the restroom, she brushed her teeth. Opening her closet she put on a little dress and went over to her mirror and adjusted her dress a little bit and brushed her hair. She put her hair in a down style similar to Luna's after she was freed from her Nightmare Moon self except that Prism's hair was longer and flowed a little more. She stuck a purple bow in her hair and went to wake the others up.
Rolling into her parents room, she quietly went in and shook her father. When he woke up she whispered what the day was. He nodded and carefully got up. He pushed Prism out of the room and quietly got ready.
Moving on to the twins room she opened the door. She shook both of them awake.
"Lay off I'm awake. Prism what's going on."
"Mama's birthday." Lightning eyes went wide and pushed Prism out of the room.
Prism sighed and moved on to Cumulus's room. She opened the door and told her to wake up quietly. Due to her better hearing Cumulus picked up on the sound quickly. Prism told her what day it was and Cumulus got up and brushed her teeth.
Prism helped her get dressed and do her hair. Cumulus had a head wrap braid that she thought would've been great for special occasions. Cumulus and Prism walked out of the room and went downstairs. Prism decided to help Midnight cook breakfast for Rainbow Dash. They planned to give her breakfast in bed so she wouldn't have to get up. Prism finished making the pancakes and put the on a plate. Midnight finished making a smoothie and put it down. Prism and Midnight finished the breakfast and put it on a tray. Looking at the time, Prism poked Midnight. He nodded and hurried up the stairs and opened the bedroom door.
"SURPRISE!!!" Rainbow smiled as she heard their voices.
"You really didn't have to."
"Yes we did mom. Happy birthday," Prism said as she rolled her wheelchair over to Rainbow and hugged her. After Rainbow ate her breakfast she was brought downstairs. Lightning, Thunder and Cumulus had put all the presents in one area. All of her friends were there. Rainbow opened presents and thanked her friends and kids.
"Mama, I have two last presents for you," Prism said as she handed Rainbow her presents. Rainbow opened the small one and saw a beautiful sterling silver necklace with a small heart gem that said,
I love you mama, I will always be your little foal,
Love your youngest daughter,
Prism
Rainbow teared up and hugged her daughter.
"Where did you get this," she asked.
"I made it."
"I'm so proud of you," Rainbow cried hugging her little filly tighter.
"You have one more," Prism said through her mothers arms. Rainbow unleashed Prism from her grip and looked at the last present. She opened it and saw a beautiful purple and blue swirled dress which was lined with a soft white fabric.
"I was going to make the necklace gold, but when I thought about the dress I made it silver." Rainbow teared up and asked,
"You made this too." Prism nodded. Rainbow hugged her tighter this time.
"I thought that you could wear it to the bash tonight." Rainbow smiled.
"Well I think it's time that you kids go outside and get some fresh air," Twilight said as she opened the door. All of the kids in the room went outside.
Prism helped the tri-pies and Gemstone get to the ground while the twins helped Cumulus. Once on the ground, Prism went back up to get Cinnamon Roll. Lightning helped Cinnamon Stick and Thunder helped Apple Blossom. Screwball, Zany, Mothball, Scootaloo and Dawn flew down to the ground. When everypony was on the ground excluding the adults, Prism, Gemstone and the tri-pies went off somewhere Dawn went after them, seeing to it that they don't get hurt. That left the rest of the older children messing around.
Dawn was older but he didn't think that they needed too much supervision.
"Guys a little help," Dawn yelped as he tried to catch Blueberry. Scootaloo rolled her eyes as she went over. Raspberry had just made the catch all the harder. She made it a game. Prism and Gem just stayed under the cloud house. Cherry had just jumped into the Ponyville fountain. After finally catching the tri-pies Scootaloo said,
"No more tag, pleeeeaaaase." Dawn agreed. Prism laughed,
"I think that there is going to be more tag soon."
"Why?"
"Because they just ran off again." Scootaloo groaned and Dawn frowned.
"I think we'll just catch 'em," Prism said. Cumulus, Gemstone and Prism calmed them down easily. The tri-pies were excited for the party that was to be held that night.
Prism smiled and said that she wanted to look at the scenery for a little bit. The tri-pies accompanied her. Prism was dumped with a pile of leaves. She smiled devilishly and started dropping piles of leaves on them. The tri-pies made it a full on war.
After a few hours of messing around, Rarity called everypony to Carousel Boutique to get ready. Dawn helped get the boys ready while Rarity did the girls. Prism didn't object to Rarity messing with her hair. By the time the girls were done getting ready, the boys were waiting in the front room.
The girls came out in order from oldest to youngest, leaving Prism last. The boys all gawked as their result sweethearts came out.
When it was time for Prism to come out she was nervous to see her family's reaction to her looks. She hesitantly stepped into the overly occupied room. Midnight saw her appearance and hugged her.
"You look beautiful." Prism smiled. She wore a blue, purple, and black dress. It was swirled, much like the dress she had made for her mother. The dress was lined with an off white lace that circled her dress. Around her neck was a diamond necklace that was in the shape of a heart. Prisms hair was in a tiny bun that was held on the back of her head. Pinkie lead them to an empty field that she had decorated for her friend. She invited all of Ponyville. Prism and the rest of the children were separated from the adults. Prism parted from the group after a little bit,
"Hey half-ling!" Winter Wind yelled as he walked up to Prism. She turned around and he was at the loss for words.
"Y-you are bea-" he was cut off by his father leading him away. Prism rolled her eyes and continued to walk around. Somepony pulled her aside.
"Stay away from him."
"Who?"
"Winter Wind, stay away or you'll get it."
"He's all yours." With satisfaction the pony pushed her away. Prism didn't know what was worse, the fact that somepony actually threatened her, or that they threatened her over Winter Wind. She shrugged it off and rolled away. The tri-pies were having so much fun that they accidentally knocked down the table full of treats onto Pinkie Pie. Pinkie froze.
"Girls please go home and I will talk to you there." Rarity gasped and fainted. Prism frowned and followed them home.
"Not you Prism," Pinkie said as she saw Prism following her daughters. Prism nodded and reluctantly went back to the party. Prism saw a small figure in the corner of her eye following her, she turned around and saw nothing.
"Okay everypony, cake time!" Pinkie rolled the cake over to Rainbow Dash. They did the usual rituals and served the cake. Prism got her slice and ate it slowly but gratefully. Prism once again saw the figure in the corner of her eye and thought nothing of it.
When the party finished Pinkie cleaned up and went home to chew out her daughters. Prism floated of the ground in her wheelchair and followed her family home.
Chapter 6:Cooking and bonding
Prism woke up to her mother shaking her.
"I'm awake mom."
"It's the day that your casts come off." This caught Prism's attention. She shot up and got into her wheelchair. She rolled over to the bathroom and brushed her teeth. Prism finished and followed her mother out the door. Floating down to the ground she and her mother started to talk.
"Do you think it'll hurt."
"No, believe me I've been in more casts than you can count." Prism was reassured. Reaching the hospital they asked for Dr.Stable. He came over to them and lead them to the room that was going to be used to take Prism's casts off.
Dr.Stable asked for Prism to sit down on the bed. She did as told and after a few minutes the casts were off.
"Hey my hooves work, so does my wing. Yay!" Prism was glad to be able to walk around again. She hugged Dr.Stable and her mother.
Walking out of the hospital Prism needed a little help trying to balance, but Rainbow was more than glad to help. Prism couldn't wait to show her friends at school. School.
"Mama, I'm going to be late for school!" Prism said as she was about to dart.
"Hold it there little filly. Did you not notice the time we woke up. And the fact that it's not even sunrise. You've an hour or so to get ready." Prism relaxed and strolled along the the grassy fields with her mother. Prism decided to get playful and slowly backed up. She changed into Tank and floated in front of Dash. Rainbow Dash was confused and poked Tank. He slowly turned to the house. Rainbow gasped and grabbed him, only for him to turn back into Prism. She giggled and tackled Prism. They played for a half hour or so and then started walking towards the cloud house again.
Reaching the building, Prism looked at her mom. Rainbow got the message and crouched down. Prism hopped on her back and they flew up to the door. Prism jumped off her back and went inside. Going back upstairs she brushed her hair and got her saddle bags ready. Rainbow looked at the clock and ran upstairs. She blew the whistle signaling for everyone to get up. The twins lazily floated down the stairs. Cumulus followed shortly after. Prism handed Cumulus her saddle bags. Cumulus looked at her for a second then gratefully took the saddlebags. They all sat down and waited for breakfast. Deciding that they were taking too long, Prism decided to make breakfast. Standing up, she got everything she needed to make blueberry pancakes.
"Um Prism, what are you doing," Lightning asked as she carefully approached her sister.
"Making breakfast," Prism replied simply. Lightning stepped back and nodded.
After a bit the pancakes were ready and Prism served them to her siblings and sat down. Reluctantly, Thunder took a bite, his eyes widened and he gobbled down his three pancakes. Following the suit, Lightning and Cumulus ate their plate. Prism was satisfied with her cooking. Rainbow Dash and Midnight came downstairs to see their children eating pancakes. Confused they sat down and were quickly met with their own plates.
"Who made these?" Rainbow asked.
"Prism," the children replied in unison. Rainbow looked at Prism, who smiled. She pushed a bottle of syrup towards them.
"Go on, try it." Hesitantly Rainbow took a bite and smiled.
"This is delicious." Midnight gobbled his down in less than a half second. Rainbow laughed and followed, though she ate a little slower.
"Can you cook dinner to," Lightning asked, Prism looked at her mother who nodded in approval.
"Well what do you want."
"Chipotle asparagus quesadillas!" The whole family shouted. Prism nodded and said
"I'll make them." The family got up and cleaned off their dishes.
Rainbow put Cumulus on her back and Midnight did the same with Prism. Landing at the schoolhouse the girls jumped off.
"Hey Thunder you looking forward to dinner."
"Uh, duh! Chipotle asparagus quesadillas are the best. The pancakes Prism made were awesome and I don't even like blueberries," Thunder replied. Lightning nodded and continued her job.
"Hey half-ling! What's with Cumulus talking about breakfast. She said that you made the best pancakes in the world."
"She's still talking about that. Geez if she's still talking about breakfast, she'll be talking for months about the dinner I'm making." Winter paused and looked oddly at Prism.
"You can cook?"
"Uh yeah."
"Cool." Prism backed away slowly, not used to him looking at her that way. The bell rang. Prism sighed in relief and walked in. She sat down.
"Okay little ones. I heard about the great breakfast that Prism made and I think she should make lunch for us tomorrow. What will it be?" Oh boy. Now Miss Cheerilee wants to test my cooking.
"Oooh I want coconut curry." The class agreed.
"Well Prism tomorrow you will follow me to the kitchen so you can cook the curry." Miss Cheerilee started a new lesson leaving Prism to worry about the dish she had to make.
After the last bell rang Prism got her stuff and made sure that Cumulus had all of hers. Walking out the door she noticed that Miss Cheerilee was smiling widely at her. Prism smiled back and trotted out the door. Finding their parents Prism rushed over to them, she didnt tell them what happened so she just hugged them and they went home.
Arriving at the cloud house, Prism immediately went to the kitchen so she could cook the quesadillas. When she finished the family ate happily and talked about their days. When Prism told them about the lunch she had to make, Rainbow was quick to react,
"Did they even ask if you wanted to do it." Prism shook her head.
"I can always put that hypnosis spell on Miss Cheerilee and your class to make them forget the request." The family looked at Midnight in fear,
"You didn't know. Me being the older Royal brother of Mothball, know the spells that Chrysalis knows." Prism smiled and changed into Queen Chrysalis. Midnight yelped.
"I've been feeding off your love ever since I found your youngest child." Midnight was shivering in fear.
"You my son WILL be the king of the changelings. I've had enough with my children betraying me." By then she was sure that Midnight was going to pee himself. She changed back and laughed so hard that she stopped breathing for a few seconds.
"That was so funny. Hahahahaha." Midnight glared and stood up,
"Do not scare me like that again young lady! Go to your room! NOW!!!" Prism yelped and ran up the stairs. Rainbow put a hoof on Midnight's shoulder and said,
"Don't you think that was a little harsh. She's just a kid."
"But I nearly made a yellow spot in the cloud."
"That's no reason to yell at her. If you pay more attention to detail, her wings and horn were a lighter shade than they should've been. Go apologize to her." Midnight sighed.
Midnight opened the door to Prisms room. He heard crying. He opened it further to see his daughter hugging her pillow crying. He walked inside and sat beside her on the bed. He hugged her and stroked her mane.
"I'm so s-sor-ry daddy. I did-dnt mean i-it."
"Shhh. It's okay. Nopony got hurt did they?"
"No-o." Midnight hugged his daughter for a little longer before saying,
"I'm sorry too. I overreacted." Prism nuzzled deeper into her dad's embrace. Prism fell asleep after awhile. Midnight smiled and tucked her in.
"Goodnight Prism," he said closing the door.
The bell for lunch rang, Miss Cheerilee lead Prism to the kitchen so she could make the coconut curry. Prism knew exactly how to make the curry. Once lead to the kitchen she started to cook.
After a little bit she finished the curry. The class ate it with joy. Prism smiled with satisfaction.
Chapter 7:Winter miracles
Prism woke up early as always. Looking at the calendar she realized that the day before had been the last day of school for two weeks. Prism got out of bed and brushed her teeth. She cautiously opened her door. She changed into her mother and flew down to the ground. Changing back to herself she felt something icy cold beneath her hooves. Looking down she saw a fluffy white substance, snow. She smiled and started making snowponies. She had a snowball thrown at her. Turning she saw the tri-pies. Smirking she threw one at each of their heads.
"Snowball fight!" They yelled. After about thirty minutes Blueberry got hit in the face by a snowball that was not thrown by Prism. Looking behind her she saw Lightning and Thunder.
"Kid, you, me and Thunder versus the pies?" Lightning asked. Prism nodded frantically. Thunder started throwing like crazy. Prism was slow, but then she got an idea, an awful idea, she got a wonderful, awful idea. Prism snuck behind a snowpile and changed into Dawn she stood up and opened his wings. With a powerful flap she sent a huge pile of snow towards the tri-pies. They squeaked in surprise and were dumped in snow. Lightning and Thunder looked at Prism changing back to herself.
"That was awesome!"
"Prism Midnight Dash! You come up here right now!" yelled Rainbow Dash. Prism groaned and turned into Winter Wind. She flew up to the house and changed back to herself. Before they went inside Rainbow raised an eyebrow and asked,
"Who did you just change into?"
"I thought it was you."
"Nope, it was a colt about your age. He was indigo, black mane and blue eyes. Who is it?" Prism went pale, she in fact knew who this colt was.
"Um, no doesn't ring any bells lets go inside." Rainbow suspected something about that colt, she knew that she had seen him somewhere, she couldn't put her hoof on it. She shrugged it off and walked inside.
Prism immediately saw a scarf, earmuffs and fur boots. Prism rolled her eyes thinking that she already had them on, but looking at her body she realized that it was bare. How stupid. Walking out to temperatures below zero without warmth, even Pinkie knew better.
Rainbow looked at her, Prism new that look, it told her to put it on. She did so and immediately felt warmer. Rainbow smiled in satisfaction and told Prism not to change and just to get on her back. Doing as told, Rainbow floated down to the ground and let Prism off. Prism smirked and threw a snowball at her mother. Rainbow yelped in surprise but quickly started throwing snowballs at her kids and the tri-pies.
Midnight looked down at them through a window as he drank some hot chocolate. He wasn't very fond of the cold. He smiled down at his secretly favorite child, Prism. She got pelted with a snowball. Prism got back by repeatedly throwing snow at the tri-pies with her wings, a benefit of having small wings was that they were a very hard target, especially when they're fast. He laughed as a pile of snow missed and pelted the window. He used his horn to wipe it off. Smiling he went to the kitchen to get more hot chocolate.
"How can those wretched animals be outside in this weather," said Frostbite, father of Winter Wind as he looked out the window and saw the Dash family and the tri-pies playing in the snow. Winter laughed when he saw Prism turn into a black stallion and pelted the tri-pies with snow. He was surprised though when she turned into him to fly back up to her house. Could she possibly, he blushed at the thought, no she couldn't . He asked if he could go out, his dad rolled his eyes and said yes with an added," only if you want to freeze to death." Happily Winter gathered his coat and hat, he shot out the door and approached Prism.
"Hey can I join you." Seeing her mother watching, she quickly replied,
"Of course who's team."
"Um maybe yours," replied shyly.
"Okay Lightning, you wouldn't mind switching teams would you?"
"Nope I'm good," said Lightning as she switched sides. Winter smiled. When Rainbow blew the whistle he pelted the tri-pies like crazy. Prism smiled and looked at him.
"Hey half-ling, you gonna start pelting." Prism blushed and looked away. The unnaturally soft tone he said that in was enough for her to lose her focus. She started throwing snowballs at the other team.
"Hey Prism," Winter said, when Prism looked he continued," I'm sorry about all the things I've said and I really do want to be your friend, can we start over?" Prism thought this over and after a few minutes she spoke,
"We can start over but l do have one question, do you want my friends to know or not." Winter shook his head. That made it official, she was friends with a bully, she smiled though knowing that she had done the right thing.

Chapter 9:Surprise for a friend and a family.
Winter sneaked back into the hospital room with a wrapped box in his tail. He put the box quietly with all the others. His wasn't labeled so Prism wouldn't be upset with him if she didn't like the gift. He glided slowly over to an empty spot on the floor next to Midnight, perfect spot because it was a corner that he easily fit into. Putting himself in the corner he lowered his body and dozed off to sleep.
The next morning came too quickly for Winter and soon he was pushed out the door with the rest of the ponies and wandered home.
"Hey traitor!" Somepony yelled. Winter turned as his friend, Morph, came up," why did you abandon us for that," she said pointing disgustedly at Prism. Winter glared at Morph when she did that.
"What? She is a half-ling," she defended
"Yes but she's also my friend. Unlike you, she actually stayed loyal to me and didn't object to me doing anything. Unlike you, she actually tried to be kind to me and everypony else. And unlike you, she actually protects and helps ponies with disabilities or problems that they can't work through," Winter said this calmly but through gritted teeth. Shrugging it off, Morph just assumed it was a mistakenly said comment and would apologize later.
"Fine I'll get out of your hair.....for now." With that said Morph walked off. Winter sighed in relief, he really wanted to leave. Walking over to his house he felt like something was missing. Shaken out of his thoughts by something speeding past him, he sighed. Scared of his father's reaction to him coming home at noon from the hospital. Opening the door he walked in slowly trying not to make a sound.
"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!!! YOU ARE GOING TO BE PUNISHED SEVERELY YOUNG MAN!!!" Busted, crap. Winter hung his head in shame,
"Sorry dad."
"You better be. Now before your punishment starts, I want to now where you were."
"Okay. I was at the hospital because my friend was hurt in the fire."
"Who was this friend?"
"Um. Prism th-the half-f-l-ling."
"YOU TRAITOR TO CELESTIA!!! YOU DISGRACE,GET YOUR STUFF AND LEAVE!!! DONT COME BACK EITHER!!!" Winter ecspected him to get yelled at but not kicked out. He quickly got all of his stuff then left.
I have no where to stay. Um. I am just going to have to go from house to house asking, it's worth a try . He smiled, speeding toward the last house on the street. On the way he ran in to Rainbow.
"Ouch!" Winter rubbed his forehead.
"Oh. Um Mrs. Dash, I was kicked out of my house because I helped your daughter, and I was hoping if you knew anywhere that I could stay." Rainbow looked at him sympathetically.
"Can you stay right here, I'm going to be back in a minute." Just like that she sped towards her house.
Rainbow landed on a cloud in front of the twins.
"Hey do you guys object to having another colt in the house." Confused they both said,
"No."
"Thanks! Bye," and then she just sped off.
"What was that about," Lightning asked.
"Dunno, don't care." Rolling her eyes at Thunder's bluntness, Lightning continued busting clouds.
Flying into her house she stopped just before colliding with a table. Midnight was playing with his daughters when she came in.
"Okay, I'm going to ask a question to you and I want all of you to answer truthfully. Do you object to having another colt in the house?"
"No," Midnight answered.
"Depends," said Cumulus.
"Not really but why do you ask?" Prism replied
"Because Winter Wind was kicked out of his house because he saved you." Hearing this Cumulus quickly replied,
"At that, yes I do mind another colt." Rainbow looked at her daughter in fear. Cumulus said this with a large amount of venom in her voice.
"Really. Just because it's him you don't want another pony in the house," Prism said.
"No. It's because, HE FRICKING BULLIED YOU FOR NEARLY HALF THE YEAR. THEN HE JUST RANDOMLY BECOMES YOUR FRIEND!!! YEAH, I'M PRETTY SURE THAT IS A GOOD REASON TO HATE HIM!!!" Cumulus yelled this at the top of her lungs.
"Cumulus please lower your voice," Midnight snapped. Groaning, Rainbow said,
"Sorry, but if he agrees he's going to live with us." Cumulus started squeezing Prism,
"He won't hurt me Cue," Prism gasped, trying to breath. Releasing her grip, Cumulus moped on over to her mom. Rainbow flew as fast as she could out of there knowing what Cumulus was about to do.
Landing next to Winter, Rainbow said,
"Good news and bad news, good news, you're allowed to stay with us if you want, bad news, Cumulus hates you, so watch out." Winter smiled.
"Yes! Thank you!" he exclaimed hugging Rainbow.
"Kid, you can let go now," Rainbow said after a few minutes. Winter blushed in embarrassment and released his grip. Winter realized that since he had a new care taker he needed to talk to Miss Cheerilee.
"Um Rainbow, we need to tell Miss Cheerilee that I have a new care taker now." Rainbow sped off grabbing Winter. They stopped at a small house and Rainbow knocked on the door. Miss Cheerilee opened the door.
"What can I do for you two," she asked. Rainbow and Winter explained the problem. Cheerilee nodded.
Rainbow flew to her cloud house with Winter by her side. Winter walked inside behind Rainbow. Prism ran up to Winter and hugged him.
"You gave me the album, didn't you?" she asked. He blushed and nodded.
"It's beautiful, thank you." Once again Rainbow cleared her throat. Reluctantly they let go of each other.
"Cumulus, sorry but he agreed to stay," Rainbow said this happily. Cumulus burned holes into Winter's head. He slowly walked back trying to avoid her gaze. Rainbow chuckled and brought him back inside and closed the door.
Chapter 10:Summer vacation
"Bye my little ponies! Have a great summer!" Miss Cheerilee called. Winter, Prism and Cumulus ran up to their parents(although Winter doesn't think of them as parents). Midnight picked Prism up and twirled her in the air.
"Another year gone! My little Prism is growing up so fast," he said this with tears in his eyes. Prism giggled and tackled him. Winter stood by and stared. Rainbow got up and let Cumulus jump on her. Winter flyer around them and thought, this is going to be a long and boring summer . He sighed and followed them home.
"Hey kid," Rainbow said to Winter, she captured his attention,"I need to talk to you when we get home," Winter nodded. Rainbow lead them inside but kept Winter outside.
"Kid, what's on your mind," Rainbow said softly.
"I-I don't know." Rainbow shook her head.
"What do you feel?"
"Well I feel like something's missing, when I'm around your daughters it just dissapears." Rainbow nodded knowingly.
"Who is the one that makes the feeling go away?"
"I think it might be Prism. But why did you pull me aside?"
"Because I-I wanted to know what's been happening."
"What do you mean?"
"Well I.....just, I needed to know how you felt towards the family is all," she stuttered and partly lied.
"Okay. I thank the fact that you care. I'm sorry but I still don't think of you as a real family."
"Hey kid, it's fine. You don't ever have to. Please enjoy your stay with us," Rainbow said this with truth.
"Okay, but can I be alone for a bit?"
"Of course. Call me if you need anything." With all that said, Rainbow headed inside.
Winter sighed and opened up his wings. Taking to the sky, he searched the ground for something. He found it and zoomed down toward it. It was a gravestone which read,

Snowflake,
A loving mother and willing wife,
Snowflake maker at cloudsdale weather factory,
Died protecting equestria,
Aged-34
Winter let a tear escape his eye. He sat down and said,
"Mother I need help." A blue spirit escaped the gravestone and landed next to Winter. The spirit formed into a beautiful mare.
"Yes Winter." Winter sighed,
"I was kicked out of the house because I helped the Dash's daughter. They thought that I could stay with them and I agreed. Now, I don't know what is happening anymore." He started crying and leaned into the spirit. She put a hoof around him and replied,
"I will haunt your father for the rest of his life. Anyway about the Dash family, do you have any weird feelings?"
"Yes actually, I always feel like something's missing when I'm not around their daughter, Prism, she's the one that I saved from the school fire a few weeks back."
"And why did you save her?" The mare asked this in a knowing manner, much like Rainbow when she started asking questions.
"Because, she.....I don't know anymore! Am I going insane mama."
"No, but I must tell you, follow what you think is right, don't trust your heart in almost any situation, it will mislead you. Follow what you know is right. Don't ever and I mean EVER, trust your heart, especially in dire situation. Follow your knowledge, and if you really don't know, open this locket," she said this seriously and handed over a silver snowflake shaped locket. Winter put it around his neck. He smiled and hugged his mother.
"I love you mom."
"I love you too Winter." All things said, Snowflake got up and floated back into her grave. Winter smiled and took back to the sky.
"-and then Thunder ran into a storm cloud," Lightning finished her story and finished dusting. Winter walked inside right then. Rainbow looked curiously at the locker he was wearing but didn't voice it.
"Welcome back. I'm surprised that you came back so early." Winter raised an eyebrow but shrugged it off.
"Winter wake up." Prism whispered while shaking him.
"Why?" Prism got on the bed and bucked him off the bed.
"Ow."
"Follow me." Winter rolled his eyes and followed her out of the house. She lead him to the Everfree Forest. They walked through the forest to the castle of the two sisters. They walked inside and Prism lead them into a dark tunnel. At the end was a small room.
They walked up to a purple rimmed, horseshoe shaped, mirror that was placed in the middle of the room. Winter looked at it confused. He reached out his hoof, attempting to touch it but it went straight through the glass.
"Huh?" Prism didn't look surprised,
"Yeah, it might be a portal, but I don't know yet."
"We should probably leave." Prism looked at him surprised. She took his face in her hoof and turned it towards the entrance. They couldn't get out because the tunnel sealed itself.
"Darn," he said disappointed.
"The castle clearly wants us to go in. For what reason, I've no idea." Prism happily dragged Winter to the portal launched him through. After a bit she followed.
Cumulus ran to her parent's room. She toppled over and hit her head on the side of the bed. Rainbow woke up in alarm and looked around.
"Mama, Prism's gone." Rainbow looked at her daughter wide eyed. The little filly shook her father awake.
"Daddy, Prism's gone." Midnight shot up and ran to Prism's room.
Rainbow opened the door to her daughter's room. She saw Midnight over the bed sobbing. He looked at his wife in fear and distress.
"Where is she? Prism knows that school has been out for a week, she also wouldn't have been able to leave the house without injuring-"
"Daddy," Midnight looked over to his daughter," Winter Wind is gone too." Midnight groaned.
"I take that back, they can leave the house." Rainbow sat down in disbelief. She tried comforting Midnight, but he just kept crying. Rainbow thought, please don't be hurt Prism .
Winter landed on his face when something light but hard hit his back. Prism goaned and got up.
"Woah," she tried to balance but had to lean on a statue to help her balance. Winter laughed and she kicked him causing her to fall on top of him.
"Where are we?" Winter asked. He was a tall boy with a plain blue shirt and plain tan shorts. He had the same colors as his pony self.
"Dunno," Prism said. She was much shorter than Winter. She looked down and saw herself wearing a yellow, orange and red top, and a purple, blue and green skirt. She was a very light and pale blue with the same water colored Rainbow hair.
The two looked I front of them and saw a small group of friends. It was the mane six. Rainbow had been the first to spot them by the portal,
"Hey kids get over here!" she yelled. Prism reluctantly stood up and tried walking over but Winter tripped her. Boiling with anger she dropped a bucket of paint on him. It dripped into his mouth,
"Blech! That was disgusting!" He yelled and Prism smirked with satisfaction. She headed over to the adults and saw Rainbow rolling in the grass shaking with laughter.
"Howdy," came a voice that sounded like AJ," I'm Applejack, your are?"
"Prism Sunlight Dash. Pleased to make your acquaintance." Rarity stepped up,
"Why darling, I love your manners. Unlike Rainbow Dash who is rolling in the grass instead of welcoming our guests. Darling I think I misheard you, but did you say that your last name was Dash?" Prism nodded awkwardly.
"Well, I believe that you should know Rainbow Dash!" This alerted Rainbow out of her fit of laughter.
"Mother?" Prism asked quizzically.
"Uh, no. But I do have a question for you, did you come through that portal?" Prism nodded, but then realized that she had yet to help Winter up. She looked over to him, he was still spitting out paint.
"Um, can I help my friend?" The mane six nodded.
Prism walked over to Winter and laughed. He playfully glared at her. She giggled and helped him up. He splashed paint in her face. She gasped and pushed him. He pushed back. They laughed and walked over to the six people that were waiting on them, Winter still needed help balancing. When they got to their destination Prism said,
"Now get off fatty! Your even heavier than me."
"Considering that your a living skeleton, you bet I'm heavier than you." Rainbow glared at them. Pinkie jumped I between them and yelled,
"MORE EQUESTRIAN PONIES!!!YAY!!!" The two foals covered their ears.
Midnight was going insane trying to find his youngest daughter. He searched everywhere, including the cups and bowls. Rainbow had enough of his craziness.
"MIDNIGHT STORMY WONDER!!! CALM DOWN OR I SHALL KILL YOU AND THE REST OF YOUR REMEMBERANCE ALONGSIDE YOU!!!" Midnight froze, not liking the tone his wife was using. The twins ran downstairs to see what happened. When they saw Midnight's frazzled mane and red eyes they laughed. Rainbow shot a glare at them. They fearfully ran back upstairs.
"That's better. Now let's all take a deep breath and calm down. Okay now Midnight, we will find them."
"W-what I-if w-we do-on't?" Cumulus sobbed coming into the room.
"We will. It'll just take longer than expected." Cumulus nodded. Rainbow sighed in relief and helped look outside.
"So how do we get back home if the portal closed right after we came?" Prism asked Fluttershy.
"Well. I'm sorry to tell you this, but y-you'll have to wait another few months." Prism started crying and Winter rubbed her back and tried comforting her.
"What about school! Where will we stay? What about my mama?!" Prism sobbed.
"Prism, it'll be fine."
"But mom'll think I'm dead! And we have to tell her an excuse."
"I already came up with an excuse," Winter replied.
"Um, you two could stay with me and the animals at my cottage," Fluttershy said. Prism ran up to her and hugged her."
"Thank you Ms. Fluutershy! Thank you!" Prism yelled relieved of some of the pressure.
"But what about school?" Winter asked.
"Well I can always homeschool you," Fluttershy said with glee.
"Hey! Mama!" Cumulus yelled.
"What!" Rainbow yelled back but she sounded like she had just hurled all over the floor. Rainbow quickly tried to clean it up.
"I found a note on Prism's night stand!" Rainbow stopped what she was doing to wake up Midnight. She told him and he immediately shot downstairs. He saw vomit and he carefully stepped beside it. Rainbow continued to clean it up. Cumulus got the twins who looked happy.
"I'll read the Braille to you.
Dear family (but mostly Cumulus because this is in Braille),
I went off to the Castle of the two sisters because I found something. Winter tagged along with me because he didn't want me going alone. I love you all, ecspecially Lightning and Daddy. They've helped me so much. I love you.

Prism Sunlight Dash
Wow I didn't know Lightning, well at least we know that she went to the castle of the two sisters." When Cumulus finished Midnight was in tears and Rainbow went up in flames. Everypony covered their ears as she yelled,
"IF THAT COLT DOES ANYTHING TO MY DAUGHTER I WILL KILL HIM AND HIS FAMILY!!!" Rainbow yelled. Midnight covered his ears.
"Come on, let's get to the castle. Remember I can pull out a spell that shows me the hoof prints of whomever I want." Rainbow smiled.
Fluttershy was giving Prism and Winter homework. They rolled their eyes because they were technically being home schooled. She loved the fact that they accepted it. Prism did it with no problem in math but Winter, got one question right. Prism looked over and was stifling a snicker. Winter rolled his eyes and attempted to fix his mistake but he couldn't move his hand. All of a sudden Prism felt the same thing. She flipped her hand and saw a symbol etched into her skin. A stone behind two swords that made an 'X'. She looked over st Winter and flipped his hand. Nothing. Fluttershy abruptly froze, Prism did the same to her but it had the same results as Winter. She looked at herself and she gasped and moved back. They were out of their trance when she moved back.
"What happened," Winter asked looking at Prism. He saw her fearful expression and asked," was it you?" She nodded,
"Not on purpose though! I don't know what's happening." A knock came to the door. Fluttershy answered,
"Oh Twilight! Hello, what are you doing here."
"Well my pendent sensed a magical imbalance." Fluttershy nodded and let Twilight in. Twilight's pendent floated over to Prism and scanned her. It returned to Twi and it read 'scanning complete. Prism S. Dash is evil.'
"Huh! P-Prism g-get back. I-i don't need to hurt you. Just let me cage you and you'll be fine." Prism backed away slowly and ran out the door. She ran as fast as she could through town. She panted as she passed an alleyway.
Something hit her and knocked her out.
Rainbow was with Midnight looking through the hoof prints from Prism. They got to a tunnel that the hoof prints went through.
"Dead end. Darn it," Midnight exclaimed.
"No it isn't. If you look carefully you'll find that they went through the wall." Midnight realized this and broke the wall with his magic. He saw the hoof prints lead to a mirror.
"No." He heard Rainbow gasp. She ran up to it and saw it closed.
"They're not coming back for another 30 moons," she sobbed. Midnight comforted her. He rubbed her back and looked at the mirror in sadness.
Prism woke up in a dark room. She groaned and rubbed her head. She saw shadowy figures standing there. Judging by their voices, they were females. Prism transformed into a fly and flew away. A lady with huge, poofy, orange and yellow hair, grabbed her in the air and Prism transformed back.
"Well, well, well, what do we have here. A runner. Don't be scared little one. We just want your magic and we'll let you free," said the pink one next to her.
"I'm Adagio."
"I'm Aria."
"I'm Sonata," said a blue one who was lurking in the shadows.
"And we're the Dazzlings!" they said together. Prism backed up a little bit.
"Now give us your magic," said Adagio.
"N-never! I won't give up the powers that were passed down to me and only me from my father! You won't get my powers! Ever!" Prism yelled.
"Then you give us no choice," said Aria. They started singing. She'd heard of this before and interrupted,
"Oh shut your ugly pie holes!" Sonata gasped. They scowled and got close enough for her to punch them. Adagio said,
"You know what, follow us and find out the consequences, little girl." Prism reluctantly followed them. They brought her to a room, more like a dungeon cell to Prism. They threw her in and put magical chains around her legs, arms and neck. The chains prevented her from changing form.
"If you won't give us your powers, you'll just be our slave. Hahaha." They all laughed and closed the cell doors. Oh Prism, what have you done? Well for one you became a slave and ran off. Well it's practically the same as what Ms. Twilight would've done. I guess it'll all be better in the morning , Prism thought this before going to bed, on the mossy floor. She slept peacefully, but uncomfortably.
Midnight twitched in pain. Rainbow looked at him concerned.
"Rainbow I can contact Prism through her mind. Maybe it'll help." Rainbow nodded in relief.
Prism are you there?
Daddy?
Yes honey. What's been happening?
Well let's see, I've been pranked, I've been living with human Fluttershy over here. Winter is probably worried sick.
Why?
Well, I may have run off because human Twilight was trying to cage me up, and ran into a group of girls called 'the Dazzlings'. They asked for my power and I said no. They tried to manipulate me but I interrupted them. They got irritated and locked me up and put chains on me to keep me from changing. I've been enslaved and my work begins tomorrow. I'm so sorry Daddy! I never meant to-
Don't worry Prism. I can try to contact Winter and tell him what happened. It'll all be okay.
I'm still sorry.
I love you, bye. I'll contact you every night, okay?
Yes Daddy, love you too, bye.
Midnight looked up in tears.
"I have to contact Winter as well."
"Why honey, what happened?" asked Rainbow. Midnight spilled out the whole story. By the end, Rainbow was crying her eyes out. Winter told her about contacting Winter. She nodded but insisted for him to wait until they got back home. He nodded.
After a while he contacted Winter,
Winter?
Midnight?
Yes. Now listen carefully, Prism's been kidnapped and I need you to find her.
She was what!!! How?
No time to explain but I tracked her while I chatted with her and she was on Polly street. The zip code is 24773 okay. Remember that. Now I must go but I'll talk to you later.
Okay bye
Midnight cut off with Winter and sighed,I just hope that he can find her before it's too late . He cried a little bit and went upstairs to go to bed.
Chapter 13: Saved and surprise back home
"Hurry up little girl! I want my tea!" Aria yelled as Prism came speeding into the room to give Aria her tea. Adagio rolled her eyes at the sight. She and Sonata had been planning on how to get the girls powers.
Prism heard something, but dismissed it as she was hit by Aria. Prism looked at the puddle of coffee on the ground.
"This is NOT tea! This is coffee!" Prism rolled her eyes and took the coffee back and replaced it with tea. Prism went back to her cell and sat until she was needed again. She saw something dark in the corner of her eye. It reached out to her and showed its face. It was Winter. He reached for her hand. She grabbed his and they quietly headed out the door that Winter left open.
Once outside he dragged her over to the portal.
"I got it working when your dad called and told me. I figured that you would want to go back home." Prism nodded and jumped through. Winter followed shortly after to make sure that they weren't followed. They crashed onto the ground making it shake.
"How was it so easy to get me?"
"Oh well, let's just say that they should really lock their door." Prism chuckled and they walked heartily out of the castle. They wandered home. Winter told Prism to get on his back. She argued about being too heavy when she finally gave in.
She got on his back and he flew up with no difficulties. He opened the door. Rainbow quickly shoved them on the couch, she looked like she gained just a little bit of weight while they were gone.
"Where have you two been?" she asked this and Winter cowered in fear. Prism rolled her eyes and explained.
"Well I guess that's okay. Nothing's changed here," Rainbow said.
"Other than you, no," Prism muttered.
"What was that Prism?" Rainbow asked.
"Oh nothing, just wondering how much Winter ate while I was starving. He is still a fatty." Winter groaned.
"Oh Prism," Rainbow asked," can you come upstairs with me?" Prism nodded and followed her mother upstairs.
"Prism," Rainbow said after she closed the door," I need you to keep a secret until I say, okay?" Prism nodded raising an eyebrow. Looking around Rainbow whispered something in her ear.
Prism froze in shock. After she snapped out of it she hugged her mother. Rainbow smiled and hugged back. Prism finally let go and said,
"This is awesome Mama!"
"Yes it really is Prism," Rainbow replied back. Prism pulled away and bounced out of the room, getting a laugh out of Rainbow. Shaking her head Rainbow stood up and followed her out the door.
"Girl get over here," said Adagio. Meet with nothing she broke into the cell and found nothing. Sonata smiled in secret knowing that Prism was able to escape. She pretended to scowl,
"That dumb girl got away!" she yelled 'angrily' at them. They nodded and ran outside, planning on hunting her down.
Rainbow brushed Cumulus's messy and frazzled hair while she was trying to get her stuff together. Cumulus was late for class because she didn't hear Prism wake her up. Rainbow had tried to tell her to stay still, but it was a lost cause.
When Rainbow finally finished with Cumulus's hair Rainbow raced to the bathroom. Cumulus came out of the room and heard a very sickening sound.
"Mama, are you sure you want to bring me? I can always get Daddy to carry me and Prism to change into you or Uncle Dawn. I really don't think that you're okay."
"I'm alright," Rainbow called from the restroom,"I can still bring you." Cumulus looked really worried. She reluctantly went downstairs and helped her mother when necessary.

Chapter 14: A puzzling situation and tears of realization
I ran turning to the left slightly and reached a dead end. I gulped. As I looked behind myself, I saw the ponies approaching me, not normal ponies though.
They had bones showing throughout their bodies and faces. Parts of their bodies such as eyeballs or teeth were missing. I screamed as they ran at me . I screamed and woke up with a sharp jolt.
Rainbow ran down and opened the door,
"Prism are you okay?" I rubbed my head and said,
"J-just a nightmare." Rainbow looked me and walked back out the door.
Rainbow Dash POV
I closed the door and walked down the hall. I sighed and thought, her dreams are prophecies that are about to come true. A nightmare can't be good though . I felt a strange jolt go through me. I ran to a wall. I pressed the wall in the center and it opened up.
Inside were all kinds of weapons from gernades to snipers, flares to swords. I ignored all the weapons and trotted off to a device on the wall next to the swords and knives. I placed my left hoof on it.
"Scan complete," the device said. I opened the door and saw a beautiful indigo and blue stone. It was vibrating. I looked at it like it was crazy. All of a sudden a green light came out of my chest and I sighed. The stone had found a new protector. Still I smiled in relief and closed the wall.
Walking out of the room I saw a note appear before my eyes.
Picking the note up I read;
I'm so sorry but I did something thing terrible. I didn't mean to, but I did it accidentally. Please be expecting a lot of our friends coming tonight, your house is the only safe place we have. Luckily the ones we run from can't fly, even with wings.

I sighed, why did she need to mess with potions.
"EVERYPONY!!! WAKE UP!!!" I yelled this with fear in my voice.
"What's the matter honey?" sighing I told him,
"Apparently, Twilight was doing one of her experiments when it went wrong and blah. But we are going to organize the new places where everypony's going to sleep." I turned around and heard a knock at the door. Cautiously I looked through the peep hole. Relief flowing through my body I opened the door to Twilight and the rest of my friends.
"Hey Twi." She groaned and walked in saying,
"If we're going out there we'll need weapons. Knowing you, there's a stash somewhere." I laughed and told her to sit down.
"Okay we're going to first discuss where everpony's going to sleep. Prism, Cumulus, Fluttershy, Applejack and Lightning are to be sharing Prism's room." I stopped as another knock came. I saw Spitfire, Soarin, Celestia and Luna. Opening the door I welcomed them in.
"Change of plans, Spitfire, you too are going to sleep in Prism's room, along with Lightning, Prism, Cumulus, Fluttershy and Aj."
"Sound like its gonna be cramped but okay!" Spitfire remarked.
"Nope trust me, she has barely anything in that huge room so, it won't be. Twilight can you conjure up five extra beds in her room?"
"Sure?" Twilight did her work and sat back down.
"Okay, Thunder, Soarin, Midnight-" I didn't get to finish as another knock came, I was surprised to see Derpy there along with her earthpony husband, Doctor, I think, but I'll call him by his nickname Time Turner. Dinky and Sparkler were there too.
"Welcome, okay-" I was interrupted as a poof sounded and Discord, Screwball and Zany appeared. With them was Spike. I smiled and let them in. Spike was angry at Twi for leaving him alone in the middle of the apocalypse. My smile wavered,
"Okay, as I was saying, Thunder, Soarin, Midnight, Dawn, Time Turner, Cheese, Comet, Discord, Zany, Winter and Spike will share the twins room." Lightning grumbled something about not messing up her stuff.
"My goodness that's a lot of ponies. In one room!" Time Turner said this in awe.
"Don't worry, there's an extension charm on that room," I caught Twilight looking at me with confusion," Don't ask how because I know Midnight can't do that," I replied to her unspoken question.
"Luna and Celestia will share the guest room at the end of the hallway on the left." Luna smiled,
"I'm glad to see that you've given us the hospitality of your home." I rolled my eyes, at least she was getting better. I continued,
"Okay Dinky, Screwball, Twi, Rarity, Sparkler, Derpy, Pinkie, Scootaloo, Sweetie, Bloom, the tri-pies and I will be sharing a guest room,but now for weapons, Twi, you never really told me what the problem was here."
"I-um may have accidentally turned Cheerilee into a zombie, and then she bit Lyra and she bit Big Mac and he bit-"
"Okay! Okay! I get the gist! Okay let's see."I opened up the wall again. Everypony in the room gasped.
"Okay adults and teenagers get to pick there weapons," I lifted my wing at pinkie and said," No. I will choose who I can trust with grenades."
"Awww." Pinkie sighed and looked around. Every pony turned toward Prism who was glowing in the same green light that left me. She was being pulled toward the stone. She tried to pull back but couldn't. She was being pulled with aggression. She was crying with, what I thought was, pain and fear.
Prism POV
I was being pulled toward a wall so roughly that it hurt. I was trying to fight back until I started crying. Mama ran up to the wall and placed her hoof on a device. The wall opened up and revealed a beautiful stone resting in a robotic chamber. I was suddenly jerked upward and let out a wimper of surprise. As I floated the stone did as well. The stone turned to smoke and went inside of me. With that, my mane earned a few Blue and Indigo highlights. I was brought slowly to the ground. I looked at my mom and said,
"Mama, what was that. One moment I'm strolling around happily, and the next I'm being jerked painfully towards a hidden stone!" My mother hung her head and approached me.
"I'm sorry, it's normally an older princess who earns the part. Well I was the one protecting the stone, before me was Celestia. And now I'm surprised that it chose the youngest princess in Equestria. Yes in about a year, your sister will wake up with a horn in her head and newly learned wisdom as well. You will need to wait about seven more years to grow yours. I'm surprised to say the least but the stone knows what it's doing." I was confused and asked,
"But what about your horn?" I covered my mouth quickly and my hair somehow turned pink with embarrassment. Mama laughed and answered my question,
"Oh I'll show you my horn!" After she said this a bright light flashed through the room. After my eyes recovered, standing in my mother's place was a beautiful Crystal princess with a brand new cutie mark and all. I was shocked and stepped back. This lady chuckled,
"I know what you're thinking. Midnight almost reacted the same way except he was interested in my cutie mark and almost fell down the stairs!" She laughed with delight and Daddy said,
"I told you that we'd never speak of that again!" He grumbled.
"Sorry to interrupt," I heard Thunder and turned," but I believe that we still have a crisis to deal with." Mother turned back into her disguise and said,
"Okay, okay. But seriously. Okay Prism grab a flare gun, Katanas and the machetes. Oh! And put on these on!" I grabbed what she asked me to and sighed putting on the saddle. As soon as the saddle touched my coat a complete suit of armor covered me. The only thing that was uncovered was my eyes. When I talked the inner of my mouth was exposed, but everything else was covered. I looked at mom and said,
"We're not going into war mom. We just need to kill a few zombies and reach the Castle of the two sisters, find the temple and correct the infection. Also, why just swords and a flare gun?" Mama smiled and replied with optimism,
"Honey, we are technically going into war. Oh and I gave you just swords because I've seen you use one unknowingly. You're great with swords and knives. Oh and I need to set up the others before you keep rambling or if I keep it going," she lowered her voice to a whisper," don't tell Pinkie, but I'm trusting you with the grenades. Don't use them when it isn't necessary because the noise will attract the deceased ponies." I shook my head and smiled knowing that Pinkie definitely wouldn't like that she couldn't have grenades. I snuck over and secretly grabbed a medical kit.
Winter POV
I sat in the corner waiting for Dash to give me my weapons. She finally spotted me and trotted over,
"You are to protect Prism at all costs. I know that seems weird, but she is the spirit stone. You must protect her without her finding out what I told you." I nodded and looked at Prism, she smiled at me and I blushed a little bit.
"Are you okay with the task that I've assigned you?" I nodded happily and she gave me a flare gun, medic kit, another pair of those weird saddlebags, throwing knives and a 20- gauge shotshell.
Rainbow POV
"Please all non-winged ponies step through this and you'll have eternal cloud walking ability," I said this and then the unicorns and earthponies lined up.
After a bit I saw Prism in a corner looking at a wall. I walked over and asked,
"You alright?" She turned to face me. I saw glowing white eyes,
"The prophecy is being fulfilled. The prophecy is being fulfilled." She said this so bluntly that it scared me. I got up and backed away. She got up with me and followed, still saying that dratted sentence over and over again.
The others must've noticed because they held Prism back. Yet even the combined strength of all the ponies in the room, she still walked effortlessly.
She stopped and shook her head. The sudden act caused every pony to fling back. Prism turned into Twilight and caught them in her telekinesis. She turned to face me, her eyes back to their normal green.
"Mama, what happened?" I stood there in shock, not knowing what to say, so I told her the truth,
"You hold the prophecy power. It will happen again. You scared me though." She sat and asked,
"What did I do?" I was hesitant but said,
"You had glowing white eyes. You followed me when I got up and backed away from you. And," I choked and she looked at me in fear,
"What did I do?" I choked out the last sentence,
"You were chanting quietly that the prophecy was being fulfilled." At this I saw her eyes start to water. I had told her of the power and that dreams were the link. I explained to her that the only dreams they had were prophecies. She stared at me with glossy eyes,
"That means that your going to die?" She cried. I stared in shock. Not knowing that that was what she had really dreamed of.
"After y-you lef-ft my-y Ro-oom I h-had dre-eamed th-that yo-u w-were goi-ing to-o d-die-e!" She was wailing! I hugged her tightly and said,
"Don't worry. It won't happen. I'll never leave my family." She cried into my coat. I looked up at Midnight who appeared to be crying as well. He looked at me. I mouthed,
'Don't worry. I'll be fine' but I knew that her dream was real. It was going to happen.
Chapter 15: fights an fear
Prism POV
I was walking out of the hidden weaponary when I heard a mysterious sound coming from my room. Curious I took out my katanas and slowly strolled over to my door. Carefully I pressed my ear to the door. Any normal pony would've heard muffled whining, but my daddy and I have inhanced hearing, caused by our changeling abilities. I was hearing a slightly muffled groaning sound. I sighed. BIG mistake. The groaning got closer to the door. Eventually I felt the prickly splinters of wood flying at me. I stared in shock. A zombie stood right in front of me. It lunged.
"AAAHHHHH!!!" I sliced its head off in fear. Mama and the others came running toward me. I turned and saw something behind them. A small silhouette of a deformed pony.
My hair turned blood red as it lunged at my mom in attempt to bite her. It didn't work. I was angry enough to catapult myself toward the zombie. I landed on it and started frantically stabbing it's bloody and deformed head.
I finally stopped and turned. The shock and fear in my mother's eyes was enough to break my heart. I put my katanas back in their leather sheaths. I sat on the floor with saddness and muttered a tiny,
"Sorry Mama." I was expecting a scolding about letting the adults deal with it, but it never came. Instead of a scolding my mother hugged the life out of me while muttering a faint 'thank you'. I smiled and hugged her back. I saw the other ponies approaching us and I said,
"Well, I guess I did okay." My Daddy hugged both of us and exclaimed,
"Okay?! No that was brilliant! Even my inhanced hearing, sight and smell didn't even pick up the presence of those deformed, brainless brats!" I rolled my eyes at his over excitement and name calling. I shot back saying,
"Didn't Mama tell you how mean name calling is?" That got him. His ears flattened, tail tucked between his legs and pupils small. I smirked and looked at mom, she was smirking evilly. I knew that smirk, Mama was about to lecture Daddy.
"She's right honey. Do you know how many ponies have committed suicide from name calling. That can also fall under the bullying category." I snickered as Daddy broke,
"Please spare me your useless words!" Mama snickered and stopped.
Rainbow POV
I don't know the last time I did that. It was hilarious. Midnight was rolling on the ground, trying to get my words out of his head. He finally gave up and stood. Before I could lecture him further, he stuck his head in the clouds like an ostrich. I saw him shiver. I was curious but didn't bug him.
Midnight POV
I stuck my head in the cloud floor to get the knowledge out of my head. It wasn't a huge mistake, but I kinda saw the zombies that were crowding the town. I shivered in slight fear. I knew nothing about what was happening except for the fact that the apocalypse had started. I quickly yanked my head from the cloud floor. I hadn't even noticed that I was sweating. Rainbow trotted up to me and told me that it was shocking to everypony. I felt better, though I still had the sneaking suspicion that this wasn't Twilight's fault.

Chapter 8:Friendship shines through hardships
Prism walked over to the playground with Cumulus and felt the fur on her neck tingle. She looked behind her and saw Winter coming up to her.
"Hey Cue, can you go on by yourself, I need to talk with somepony." Cumulus nodded and left.
"So."
"So."
"Well, I wanted to talk to you. I kinda don't know if we should secretly be friends anymore. I was just surprised at the time and I thought it over a couple hours ago. I never thought that you'd actually accept my friendship."
"So you dont care if ponies see us together in public?" Winter nodded and smiled.
"Come on then you big doof. My sister is expecting me back." They approached Cumulus.
"Hey Prism, is this a flower or a weed." Prism rolled her eyes, Cumulus loved collecting flowers during the spring time.
"It's a flower Cumulus." Cumulus growled and nearly pounced at Winter had Prism not blocked her.
"You dirty little brute, stay away from my little sister!" Prism pinned Cumulus down,
"Cumulus! Listen, it's okay he's my friend. Now stop acting like a maniac and lower your voice." Cumulus relaxed and nodded. She still sent glares at Winter though.
Smiling, Prism and Winter played with Cumulus, although her mood ruined most of the fun. When the bell rang the three children raced inside. Cumulus didn't like the fact that Winter sat next to Prism. Miss Cheerilee continued telling them about the life cycle of butterflies.
After an hour or two the bell rang, but it wasn't even 2:00. Miss Cheerilee told every pony to evacuate. Flames spread across the room. The children grabbed their saddle bags and raced out the door. Cumulus got stuck in the middle of the flames. Prism saw this and went through the flames burning herself, she freed Cumulus and went on their way.
Cumulus escaped but didn't realize that her sister wasn't out yet, she just raced out of the schoolhouse yard towards the class and Miss Cheerilee.
Inside the schoolhouse Prism was choking on the smoke trying to get out, but the flames surrounded her. She changed into her mother and flew up. She flew up as fast as she could breaking threw the wall, only to run into the bell. She turned back into herself and fell back towards the flames. Some pony grabbed her and she went out like a light.
Prism woke up to an unbearable pain in her head. Looking up she saw the concerned faces of her friends and family. Prism saw one face in particular, it was Winter's face. He smiled with relief and worry.
"Oh your awake," said Twilight. Prism nodded only to become dizzy.
"I was so worried when your friend," Cumulus growled as she heard her mother say friend,"here come up to me with you on his back," Rainbow finished and cautiously looked at Cumulus who was still glaring at the colt.
"I suppose that you want to hear the story," Winter said, Prism nodded," well here it goes,
Winter caught Prism as she fell. He glanced around the room. Winter slowly and carefully went through the hole that Prism made and avoided the bell. He got out into open air and tore through the air. Spotting a Rainbow mane he flew as fast as he could over to it.
"Mrs.Dash!" he yelled catching her attention," Prism blacked out in the fire at school! She needs help!" Rainbow nodded and grabbed Prism. Zipping through the air as fast as they could they burst through the doors of the hospital. Before either of them were able to yell Prism was put on a stretcher and taken to a room. The doctor came back an hour or two later,
"Is she alright?!" Winter said shooting out of his seat.
"Yes, she only suffered a minor concussion and a few first and second degree burns. She will make a full recovery if she wakes up remembering what happened before she was knocked out." Rainbow's smile faltered when he said that if she remembered. Seeing her face Winter answered,
"After she saved Cumulus she was trapped in a ring of fire that Cumulus didn't notice. She started to suffocate and changed into you and flew as fast as she knew and broke a hole in the ceiling. After breaking the hole she hit the school bell and was knocked out." When he finished Rainbow was in tears,
"Thank you for helping her! Oh! I almost forgot to ask, what is your name?"
"My name is Winter Wind, and I'm just as glad that I happened to hear her hacks." Rainbow mumbled,
"Sounds like Midnight when I met him."
"What was that Mrs.Dash?"
"N-nothing." Shrugging the awkwardness off he asked the doctor if he could see Prism.
Prism was glad that she was told what happened, but she never thought that Winter would save her life. She smiled and hugged him as he walked up. Blushing he hugged her back. Rainbow cleared her throat and the children pulled apart. Rainbow raised an eyebrow and let the topic go,
"Wow already back in the hospital. Well at least you didn't break my record of 325 visits to a hospital in a year." Prism rolled her eyes and continued to talk with them.
That night while every pony except him and the Dash's were there he snuck out while they were asleep. Winter wandered out of the hospital and onto the Ponyville roads. Wandering at night time was dangerous even by Ponyville standards, but it was for Prism. He looked at a tall fancy house that stood in front of him. He flew to the roof and went through the secret entrance to his room. Landing on the polished tile floor he walked over to the space under the bed.
