The day was warmer than a winter day was supposed to be, but he had already given up hours ago about asking the pegasi why, according to the Equestria Daily paper, everywhere else was snowing except for Ponyville, and so the least a stallion could do was enjoy Celestia's warm sunlight before it gets covered in clouds again. "What can I get you?" asked a tan mare, who had a ginger mane that the brown stallion envied. "Ah, yes, that. Um, ahem," he cleared his throat before he continued, "Let's see... red roses... blue violets... green... whatever that is... hmm… daisies? Yes, a few daisies, please." he replied with an awkward smile. She tried her best to ignore it as she got him his daisies in trade for two bits. Before he left, he tilted his head in curiosity. "Is that a red stocking cap?" he asked. "Um, yeah, I guess." "Hasn't Hearth's Warming past almost a week ago?" "Well, sure..." He shrugged, then turned to leave before he stopped himself and remembered his task, "I'm the Doctor, by the way. What's your name?" "Rose..." "Nice to meet you, Rose! Do you want to, um... be my friend?" the Doctor asked with a nervous, awkwardly made smile. "No, I don't even know you. I mean, seriously, doctor who?" "Dr. Time Turner. Do you want to be my friend now?" "Still no." "Oh, um... okay then..." Dr. Time Turner shrunk, and instantly wished he could just shrink until he was small enough to disappear; he couldn't, quite sadly, for he still hadn't found the formula for how to do that yet. So he resolved to just turning around and leave at last. "Happy New Year’s..." ---[({x})]--- "I'm home, family!" Time Turner announced when he entered his home. There was no response, but yet the lacking of it didn't seem to surprise him. He never heard any pony say anything back whenever he said that... He sighed, and dropped the useless daisies onto the couch. Everything was set for guests, and had stayed that way for a whole five years. He headed straight to the real use of his home; the basement. His basement was a large laboratory wonderland filled with bottles of different chemicals, test tubes, steam-power machines, a small wooden airship, clocks, and all kinds of things random, sciencey, and wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey. He went straight to a grey robotic block with a head in the shape of a dog’s, attached to a stool near his chalk board and desk filled with papers and blueprints, with the floor around it filled with crumbled paper that leaked from an overly filled trash can. He flipped a reused switch on the stool, and the dog's head rose up. "Good morning, master. Happy Hearths Warming." "It's 1800, and Hearths Warming was a week ago! I have got to fix your calendar software one of these days. Luckily, I created you, so I don't need any of those incredibly complicated instruction manuals that's bigger than my lab!" he laughed at his joke, and soon it awkwardly died down. "K9...? What I just said is funny!" "Oh, of course, master. Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha." "I'll add your joke detector to the list," Time Turner noted. "So, anyway, I tried my latest solution to making friends, and not even that worked!" "What went wrong, master?" "Well, what I had brilliantly came up with this time was 'approaching ÷ |(supporting their business + friendliness x quirkiness)| + introduction = 63% chance of getting a friend'!" he explained as he showed his chalkboard filled with childish drawings of himself doing each of those things with math symbols. "Brilliant, master; very brilliant." "I know, right? But you know what happened when I executed this?" "What?" "It failed! Apparently, I should have used 'friendliness²', or perhaps divide 'subtlety' to 'approaching'. What do you think, K9?" "All your plans are brilliant, master." "Gah! This is useless! I should have installed an independent mind for you!" "But I am a robot, master. Wait, what you said is a joke. Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha." Time Turner face hoofed. "Why do I even bother...? Am I ever going to make friends? Why is this so complicated?! I'm just going to be lonely for the rest of my life, am I?" "You have me, master." "Yes, K9, but you can't even tell when I tell a joke! I need real friends, K9, not a robot that can't even be offended by this statement!" "Why should I be offended, master? I am indeed a robot." "Exactly!" He dropped his head on his desk, and sighed. "I think I give up, K9. All I've been doing all day was failing and altering my formula. I'm tired, I think I'll head to bed now." "But you said it's '1800', master. Isn't that too early to retire?" "Well, I can always read another chapter of The Time Machine to pass the time till 2000. Still early, yes, but as a great stallion once said, 'early to bed, early to rise'. Goodnight, K9." "Goodnight, master." With a flip of a switch, K9's head dropped down once again as it awaited yet again for another conversation. Time Turner sighed sadly as he slowly made his way to his chambers. He stripped from his outfit and slipped on blue and white striped pajamas, with a bed stocking cap to match, before he laid on his back on his bed of blue, white, and black bedspreads and pillows, and retrieved his book from his dark wooden bedside-desk. He tried his best to read, but found himself struggling to despite his strong interest in it. And thus, he resolved to putting the book away and allow himself to settle his thoughts. For longer than he expected, he found himself lost in a deep train of thought. He thought about a whole series of things- about how the day went, how awkward he felt around ponies, the amount of time he dedicated to his research and experiments, and the part he wanted to end but yet it only kept going and getting worse; how lonely he felt. When he hit that part of his train of thought, he suddenly noticed how wet eyes were, and that he was curled up with one of the pillows wrapped in his hooves. He at first wanted to stop when he noticed, but yet he couldn't help but find it comforting, so instead he swore to bring that habit to his grave. The next day, after a struggle to get himself out of bed- he eat his Trottish muffins with milk, showered, then combed and hair sprayed his mane before he put on a black, long bow tie. Then he checked on his flameless fireworks to see if they ignited yet to end his, basically, routine of all the normal things a pony did everyday before he finally checked his calendar, and saw that it was December 31st. He had a yearly tradition of wearing a big, blue top hat on the 31st of December, and that he did. With everything ready, he was prepared to set off to the laboratory to experiment for the rest of the day. “Now, what was it I was trying to do weeks ago?” Time Turner said to himself as he pondered. “Ah, yes, prove that oil can be radioactive! Let’s get started!” Time Turner moved about in a blast of speed; he opened drawers, dug into bags, and threw everything about in search of the things he needed for today’s experiment. After yet another mess for him to clean at the end of the day, just as he always did every day of work, he gathered… almost all of the needed ingredients. “Let’s see- sugar, spice, vanilla, a radioactive frog, the radioactive frog’s DNA sample, and… wait, where’s the oil? Did I run out again already? Of course I did! Off to the shop I go…” he paused for a long moment, before he swallowed something big from his throat. “Oh dear… off to go in public again, then…” 15 Minutes Later “... it’s fine, it’s fine... okay, Turner, you got this! This won’t be so hard, you can do this. Just make no eye contact, and you’ll be fine. Just get the oil, pay for it, and go. Okay, am I ready…? Yes, yes I am! Allons-y!” After Time Tuner finished mentally preparing himself by using the breathing exercise he read about in a reader's disgust, as he had done before he faced the ginger one, he got on a warm, wool trench coat before he exited the warmth and comfort of his lab and into the cold, outside world of Ponyville. Time Turner kept his eyes low on the ground with a careful watch over his hooves, which successfully kept him from getting eye-contact with other ponies. Nopony noticed him, thus there was no risk of anypony talking to him nor any kind of encounter what so ever. So far, so good... except for when a pony bumped into him, which caused risk of her talking now that she noticed him. “Oops, silly me. I should've watched where I was going!” said a purple unicorn mare. Time Turner instantly started to panic. “Hey, are you alright?” “E-e-excuse me!” Time Turner stuttered as he trotted off in a hurry. The mare teleported right in front of him to stop him, startling him, making him shrink in fear. “Hel-lo there, is there something wrong? You look troubled and upset, and I want to help! You don't have to be ashamed if you have a friendship problem!” Time Turner's mind went into a swirl of chaos from two sides of his mind- one telling him to just move along, get the oil, and run back to his safe lab; the other advised to take the chance to ask for a friend, and assured him that she seemed to be of no harm. Whenever his mind was unsure, it always resulted to math, but the equations that drew in his head were far too massive, even for a mind as brilliant as his. So it lead to the third and most kept away solution that he only used for emergencies such as this; his instinct. The second half of his mind defeated the first with a huge uppercut, fueled by his desperation. “Well… yes, actually. I do, kind of, sort of, the tiniest bit, probably round 13% slightly do have… a problem.” Time Turner bit his lip and he shrunk further than he already had as his whole mind screamed ‘WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!’, but he began to relax the moment the mare he feared started to smile warmly at him, but only by the slightest bit. “Why didn’t you say so? I’ll be more than happy to help! I’m Twilight Sparkle.” Twilight Sparkle offered a hoof, of which made Time Turner raise an eyebrow. “Wait… isn’t that a gesture that only friends do?” “Well, yeah. What about it?” Time Turner hesitated with the next part of his question. She seemed to be welcoming- she offered a hoof, she introduced herself… but didn’t they just meet? According to the other-ponies’ philosophy, that was a no-no. He felt scared to once again ask the question, and feared that he would be turned down once more. “A-are… are we friends?” In the midst of his calculations, he suddenly found himself asking without an official decision, and he was left with no choice but to brace himself for the worse. “Yes, yes we are.” Time Turner smiled with rejoice, shock, and relief. “R-really…?” “Yeah, I don’t see why not.” “But, we just meet…” “That’s the thing about friendship, friend; it always start that way, and we know each other more as we progress and further bond.” The Doctor’s eyes opened in shock, eyes larger than saucers, and swiftly his friendship-theory became officially complete, and what little of what he knew of companionship became clear as diamond. Twilight strived to keep her smile to conceal her awkwardness she felt with a strange stallion staring at her bug-eyed. “Hellooo?” she waved a hoof in front of him. Suddenly he shook his head as if to shake off his train of thought. "Are you a unicorn, or a pegasus?" "Excuse me?" "I thought you were a unicorn, but for some reason, you have wings. Did you surgically have that done? Were you originally an earthpony that didn't like being one or something and you couldn't make up your mind?" Twilight turned to her wings, which ruffled at it's mentioned. "Oh, no, none of the above. I'm the Princess of Friendship now!" "Friendship? Hah, who knew. So... you're an alicorn, then?" "Yes." A dead end was hit, so thus that left the two to simply stand there, suffering in awkward silence, until the Princess of Friendship summoned her voice to end it all. "Sooo... what's your name?" "Dr. Time Turner." “‘Doctor’? What do you have a doctorate in?” Twilight asked with curiosity, her real smile back and her mind filled with relief. Time Turner beamed at the question that he thought he would have never been asked. “In science, my dear Twilight! There are some things that magic can’t explain, where science and mathematics are the real magic!” he explained with childish joy. Suddenly, he turned, and his voice lowered dramatically. “I’ve been studying science my whole life. Ever since a particularly dramatic experience as a foal, I’ve been looking for ways to make sense of the world around me.” then his voice slightly rose with pure passion. “Science provides explanations for things we never thought possible!” Time Turner took a moment to relish his pride in his love of science, and then he remembered that he was talking to somepony. “I did it again, didn’t I?” Turner asked with a sheepish smile as he turned around. “No, it’s alright. I like science, too; I read about it all the time. Have you ever read ‘Antigravity: The Scientific Possibility’?” “Ah, yes I quite have, and I couldn't put it down!” Twilight paused for a moment with a confused expression before, suddenly, she laughed. Time Turner beamed; she could tell when he tells a joke, and he finally knew for sure that he was actually funny! It felt so good to make another pony laugh, that he too found himself laughing along with her as well. Time Turner started to think that perhaps the oil he needed could wait. After the laughter died down, he felt all of worry and doubt fall off his chest. “Twilight, about my problem, I... I want a friend.” Twilight swiftly turned from amused to concerned, which worried Time Turner ever so. “Well, you already have one," she said as she gestured to herself, but before Time Turner could argue, she changed the subject. "What are you doing on New Year’s Eve? Do you attend the Ponyville ball-drop?” “Well, no, not really... my only tradition is just to wear this top-hat, I never attend any social gatherings because, well... ponies... kind of scare me.” his head dropped in shame. “Well, you can join me and my friends if you like.” Twilight offered. “Will... will they like me?” “Sure!” Time Turner stepped back in hesitation. “Well... alright then.” “See you tonight, then?” “Um... I... kind of don’t want to leave you right now... if that is quite alright with you, that is.” And just as Time Turner was afraid of, Twilight gave him the same unsure-look that everypony he had ever asked to be his friend gave him. “Well, I suppose you can come with me as I gather my friends; I was thinking about gathering them early to have more time to prepare anyway, perhaps this would be your chance to meet them.” Time Turner couldn’t believe his luck. “I would love to!” With everything settled, they were off on their way to the first of her friends to summon. Out of all the houses he expected, he never thought that their first destination would have been the boutique that stood out from the other places around it. It was as one would expect of such an elegant thing, with the two-story building structured in a work of art with sky blue and pink. When they entered, the bell rang, and there came a white unicorn mare with a purple, elegantly made mane. “Welcome to Carousel Boutique; where everything is petite, unique, and magnifique. How can I-- oh, Twilight, darling, what a nice surprise! Are we gathering early?” Time Turner looked with surprise at her accent; never did he think he would encounter a pony with one similar to his. The difference was that the white unicorn sounded more posh than he, and despite how strong it was, he thought it sounded more influenced than natural. “Yes, Rarity, I figured--” before Twilight could finish her explanation, Rarity gasped. “Oh my stars! Twilight, never have I thought that you could find yourself a stallion!” she exclaimed with excitement. “No, Rarity, it’s not that, we just meet!” Twilight explained. “Hmm... of course, Twilight, one must play it slow in order for it to work.” “Rarity! It’s not that at all!” “Say all you want, dear, it’s only a matter of time...” Twilight puffed and rolled her eyes, and found it best to change the subject. “Anyway, Rarity, this is...” Twilight looked at him with a sheepish look; he did only tell his name once. “Dr. Time Turner.” “Oh, a doctor, hah?” Rarity asked with a flutter of her eyes. “Oh, how I can imagine how great you are at nursing my dear friend Twilight, here. Oh, just imagine the cry of every mare for a doctor to tend for her lonely, aching heart, only to discover that it was he who needed the nursing all along!” Rarity suggested as she waved a hood up dramatically and leaned as if she was about to fall, and needed somepony to catch her. The Doctor felt uncomfortable. “Um, no, actually, I’m not a doctor of medical science, just... science.” Time Turner replied with a nervous scratch on the back of his neck. “Oh, then you would definitely know how to start a bit of chemistry, do you?” Before Time Turner could answer her question without knowing what she was implying, Twilight went to action. “Heeey, how about we’ll get started with the preparations for the New Year’s celebration, hah?” Rarity didn’t even try to hide her disappointment. 'Fight it if she wants', Rarity thought, for she knew that it was bound to happen; she had sensed it since she saw the two of them, and was further convinced with how those two both loved science. Yep, it was definitely going to happen. *** Time Turner shook hooves with an orange mare with a stetson so hard that his hooves continued to shake after she let go. “Nice t’ meetcha, doc.” His hoof continued to shake for another moment before Twilight stopped it with her magic. “Um... yes, quite so.” Time Turner replied with an exhausted smile; never had he thought a hoof shake could be so extreme. Then an apple fell on his head. *** “Oh, hey Time Turner!” “So you meet him, already?” “Well, duh, I know everypony in Ponyville!” “Oh, right...” *** “What?!” Rainbow Dash spat. “I'm just saying; on average, 70% of pegasi only walk 25% of the day, and 15% when if not counting the clouds. So of course pegasi are not as good at walking as unicorns and especially earth ponies, because you winged-ponies barely ever walk!” Time Turner explained to her. “That’s not science, that’s racist! I’ll be walkin’ alright; on your face!” Rainbow Dash replied with a threatening stare. “Time Turner! Rainbow Dash!” Twilight scolded. Ignoring Twilight, which may be his last mistake, Time Turner replied, “Now, I’m not saying you're weak! You just have 75% less walking experience than us... hmm, now that I think about it, did I forget to mention that a pegasus mare would have 3% softer hooves...?” *** Twilight carefully knocked on the door of a small cottage, with animals that walked, hopped, crawled, slithered, and flew all around it. The door opened by just a creak. “Um, who’s there...?” The voice that answered the door was quiet, soft, and the sweetest voice Time Turner had ever heard. The door opened just wide enough for him to see two big, shy blue eyes. “Twilight? Oh, come in!” The door opened, and the timid little voice belonged to a yellow pegasus with a long, bright pink mane. “Fluttershy, this is--” before Twilight could finish, Fluttershy gasped and ran towards her companion. “Oh, you poor thing! How did you get a black eye?! Don’t worry Twilight, I’m sure I can help a pony just as well as animals.” Fluttershy grabbed him by the hoof. “Don’t you worry, I’ll find a nice ice-bag to help you feel better.” “No, I’m quite fine, actually!” Time Turner replied in panic, his heart(s) raced due with his hoof wrapped with another. “Fluttershy, we’re not here for his black eye!” Twilight insisted. Fluttershy ignored them for a moment before she retrieved a red bag with a white lid sealed tight to contain it’s cold contents. “Why wouldn’t you?! His eye is so swollen!” Fluttershy exclaimed with the loudest voice she could muster. “You should have been more careful, Mister!” Fluttershy scolded as if she was his mother. Time Turner sighed of relief with the ice-bag on his black eye, despite the stabbing cold. “There, better?” Fluttershy asked. “Quite, thank you.” Time Turner replied. “My pleasure; I can’t just ignore a pony when they are hurt.” “Dr. Time Turner. You must be Fluttershy, then?” he introduced himself with an offered hoof for the first time since he meet the first of Twilight’s five friends. Fluttershy managed to keep her balance with pressing the ice bag with one hoof and shaking his hoof with the other. “Yes, I am. Nice to meet you, Mr. Time Turner.” she replied with a sweet smile that no pony could possibly frown at. Twilight smiled at how comfortable Time Turner had become over the meetings with each pony. She would have wanted to see how the two would have mingled, but there more important plans to execute. “Hel-lo there, Fluttershy, are you ready for this New Year’s celebration?” she asked. “Oh, right, I forgot about that. I’m sorry, Doctor, but do you mind if you hold the ice bag yourself for a bit?” Time Turner couldn’t help but like being as close as he was to her, but he knew better. “Sure, I wouldn’t.” he lied. “Now, don’t let go of your bag for another hour, okay? Don’t you worry, I’ll be right back.” Fluttershy assured to him like he was a shivering, scared little bunny before she turned to Twilight. “Why are we preparing so soon, Twilight?” she asked. “Well, I figured we could use a little more time to settle and get together before the event.” Twilight explained. After a small moment or two preparations, the three of them made their way to the crystal castle where all the others awaited. The castle was huge, filled with, well, crystals; everything was made of it! The stairs, the walls, the floor, the bookshelves, (but sadly not the books) and all sorts of other things, and there were blue and dark purple, which oddly resembled a tree. “Hel-lo, everypony, are we all set for the New Year’s Eve celebration?” Twilight asked. It was darker and far closer to the celebration than she had expected it to be by the time she assembled her friends, but things did drag on longer with a new comrade in tow with an incredibly large mouth. "Where's Spike?" asked Rainbow Dash. "Oh, he refused to go this year, a baby dragon can't go without his sleep, I guess... even if Rarity was going... so, is everypony ready?" “Yup, got my nice, sparklin’ apple cider t’ save f’r midnight! We Apples sure do like t’ save our special cider f’r the New Year’s, ya know.” “Oh! Oh! You got something special to use on midnight, too?! No way, I got something to use on midnight! I got my party cannon for that part! Annnd what’s more important than silly hats and noise makers~?!” “Eh, I figured you guys got it all covered, but I can’t just go over empty hoofed; so I swooped by the store in lightening speed and got some cool flags to wave in case anypony wants to do that. Yeah, I know, I’m awesome.” “Oh, well, I didn’t bring anything much, really… I just figured a picnic set Mr. Bear and I put together was enough…” “Good, good…” Twilight said aloud as she checked off every item in her list. She herself helped mostly with packing early, but one must always double and triple check if you really want to be prepared if you were Twilight Sparkle. “Where did Rarity go all the sudden, did she bring anything?” asked Applejack. “I’m here~!!!” Rarity yelled in sing-song as she marched her way into the castle to make a re-entrance, this time with the dress that she prepared for the occasion that she decided to keep hidden until the right moment. “That’s nice, Rarity; the yellow looks so bright” Fluttershy commented as sweetly as sugar. “Yellow? Fluttershy, are you blind?! It’s blue and black, you feather brain!” Rainbow Dash spat. “Really…? It looks yellow and white to me…” Fluttershy replied with a confused look. “I can see that white alright, but I think it’s more blue.” Applejack commented. “Wait a second, why can’t you guys see it’s clearly blue and bla--” Rainbow Dash stopped when she saw who stood beside Twilight, quieter than she remembered him. “Hey! Twilight, I told you not to bring this racist butt-head over here! He’s gonna ruin the mood tonight with some fancy egghead thing!” Rarity saw who she was gesturing to, but couldn’t quite get what the fuss was about. “Why, what are you talking about, Rainbow Dash? He’s rather fine if I dare do say so myself…” “Rarity!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed with her hooves thrown in the air. “Stop doing… that. Twilight, I told you not to bring him here!” “Why, what’s the problem here, sugar cube? I say he’s just as meek as a leaf in the wind in an Autumn afternoon. How could he possibly argue with anypony if he’ll just nod t’ anythin’ you’ll say?” Applejack intervened, “Now let’s just take a moment t’--” “Sweet Celestia’s mercy! Time Turner, whatever happened to your eye?” Rarity exclaimed. “He asked for it, that’s what!” Rainbow Dash explained with full context. “Rainbow! I know what he said wasn’t right, but that doesn't justify what you did!” Twilight scolded. And then came an explosion of argument. “But what he-- well in Time-- said was racist-- Turner’s defense he-- and deserves a-- didn’t know any-- buck in the face-- better and you-- and have his-- were just as-- teeth pull off-- mindless as he-- and have all-- was and so-- his blood juiced-- perhaps maybe you--” “WILL YOU TWO STOP ARGUING OVER ME?!” Time Turner suddenly spat in anger. “I’m sorry, alright? I shouldn’t have just randomly spat unnecessary facts that would only be used just to offend! I’m not use to having somepony who could be offended!I hadn’t even had any friends before I meet you all!” Pinkie gasped. “But… didn’t you have friends before you moved here from Trottingham?” “No, quite sadly not. The only reason I moved to Ponyville was because of this particular basement and it’s storage space that I found in the paper that I used for study and experiments, and that’s all I did since.” Time Turner spilled with a full wrath of emotions, not even thinking of a single word he said. "But... I'm your friend, right? Have I always been your friend since we first meet?" Pinkie asked. "Well, yes, but your everypony's friend. I figured you were to busy with constantly setting up parties..." "Well, all you had to do was ask! I'm always available, no matter what! Just call, okay?" "Well, it's too late now... the point is, I never got to socialize with anypony, so I'm sorry for being as socially retarded as I was with you, Rainbow Dash. “Oh, um...” Rainbow Dash replied with a nervous scratch on the back of her neck. “Look, Doc., I… shouldn’t of hit ya like that, ya know. Especially hard enough to get ya a black eye ‘n’ all…” Rainbow Dash apologized the best she could, a pony as prideful as she was would find it rather challenging to swallow it. She flew down to him, back on the ground, and gave him an assuring smile and an offered hoof. “So, um… we’re cool?” “Yes, we’re… cool.” he said with a little hesitation on the new word. But once when he said it, it felt good.‘Cool’; he’d never thought he’d like such a word. Pinkie grabbed a tissue from thin air just because she could, and wept a flow of tears that would overflow the castle if it weren't so big and my writing wasn’t that cartoonish. She ran over to Time Turner in a tight hug, then pulled Rainbow Dash in, then Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Twilight, Pinkie Pie, then Applejack, and it was all so cute that it managed to mess up my list somehow. “Th-thank you… everypony… I feel whole now…” Time Turner finally said as he embraced the group hug he would of been too shy to join if he had a choice. The embrace lasted awhile, until Pinkie had enough, for everything must end eventually. “So, we’re ready to par-tay?!” Pinkie asked excitedly with a mood swing quicker than you could possibly blink. The seven of them cheered, and off they went to the Ponyville stage where the celebration begin. There were ponies everywhere, all in many colours, shapes, and sizes, and a good majority of them seemed to like rather a clone or recolour of one of the other ponies, but Time Turner knew that it must of just been him. Excitement was everywhere, all ponies with noise makers and silly hats, flags, masks, and snacks to help them last until dawn. There was chatter everywhere, and it was hard to talk with one another with all the noise all about. Nothing seemed to be able to silence all the excited ponies until a certain respected tan mare with a grey mane (or so you would think) walked up to the stage to clear her throat. Dead silence raised before she spoke. “Greetings, everypony! Today is the last day of 1,004, and soon comes the first of 1,005. Many things have happened in Ponyville, because what other town had ever had an explosion of snow so big before? Yes, this year is indeed a fascinating one. We had disaster after disaster, and what came with them was history made. Ever since I have been elected mayor for Ponyville, never in all my years have I ever seen such strange events happen in only 365 days. So, without further ado, let us celebrate the end of this fascinating year as we shall begin another, and possibly more, extraordinary year.” The ponies cheered, and soon the performances began. There were all sorts singers and performers, such as Octavia and Vinyl Scratch who performed a duet, Applejack’s fiddle-playing cousin who started a square dance, (even if most of the ponies didn’t even know how to square dance) the ponytones had their fun, and even Rara returned to dubbed another one of her songs into a beautiful cover with the piano. The ponies were all alive and energized, all dancing and utterly nuts. Soon, it all lead to the very finally at the strike of 2459- Applejack passed out all the sparkling cider to everypony except Pinkie, who brought her own juice box and assumed it was the same thing; Pinkie prepared her cannon for the exact moment, and everypony was all ready to begin the countdown as a big ball slowly made it’s way down to the ground as the last ten seconds of that every year began to tick. “10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!” everypony cheered; the ball had finally landed, Pinkie shot her cannon, and it was thus January 1st, 1,006. The Doctor never felt so happy on New Year’s day, and never did he see it coming when Rarity suddenly kissed him. He spun around to see her with a shocked look, with a hoof on his cheek from where she laid her lips. She gave him that certain look, and said, “Just this one, Doctor. Just. This. One! Only for tradiction, all right?” Time Turner’s jaw dropped, and couldn’t even find the words to say. And the next thing he knew, he was suddenly jumped by a crazed pink pony. “HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!” Pinkie yelled and blew hard on a noise maker with a long, leaning, silly looking top hat. Time Turner jumped back from surprise, and accidentally bumped into a grey pegasus with a blond mane. “Oh, s-sorry there.” he apologized. “Oh, it’s alright, do you wanna be my friend?” she suddenly asked with a shy smile. The Doctor knew of her position, and immediately he accepted. “Yes, you can be my friend. I’m Dr. Time Turner, what’s yours?” Since that day, Dr. Time Turner made a New Year’s revolution to spend more time outside, socializing with other ponies, than inside, in his lab experimenting.
