Long ago in a distant world, there was a unicorn named Twilight Sparkle, she was born in the city known only as Canterlot, she had a normal family there, including a brother named Shining Armor, who was the captain of the royal guard. Life was fine and dandy for Twilight, until the age of three when canterlot was under attack by flying ponies who appeared to be metalic, they had weapons popping out of them that fired what looked like lines of colorful lights that melted anything it touched like nothing, nopony stood a chance against them, Twilight had lost her family to these ruthless ponies of metal, and it all seemed hopeless until a brown spiky-haired earth pony with an hourglass cutie mark and bowtie shut down the one cornering Twilight.

"There is nothing you can do here, my little pony. Take my hoof, I will lead you to safety," the pony said with accent, Twilight came with him because there really was nothing she could do otherwise. They wound up in a big blue box which was bigger on the inside, the pony pulled a lever and the next thing Twilight knew, they were in an even bigger city than Canterlot, everything metallic and shiny, the civilians rode what looked like floating chariots with nopony pulling them, "Welcome to the future!" the pony said, "you might not undertand what's going on, so i'll leave you with King Godric, call me Doctor Hooves, what's your name young one?"

Twilight was still sad over the death of her loved ones, so it took a moment before she rubbed her eyes saying: "Twilight Sparkle, my name is Twilight Sparkle,"

"Well it's nice to meet you Twilight," said the good doctor.

When they got to King Godric, he got off his throne saying: "Doctor Hooves! it's so nice to see you today! and you brought a foal with you! what's your name little one?"

"T-Twilight Sparkle" she replied,

"I brought her from a century back, as Andromedians went back to that point to destroy her home city," said the doctor,

the king sighed, he then said: "it seems that they have learned how to go through time, this is terrible, she cannot live without knowing how to protect herself. I shall educate and train her, so that she can fight next time she sees the Andromedians!"

"Understood," the doctor replied.

Over 20 years, King Godric cared for Twilight as his own, even training her in the art of futuristic combat. And at the age of 18, she advanced out of her studies and training, ready to live life to the fullest. Overall she lived a normal, happy life. She even ended up getting married and having a colt. But the colt only had a month of knowing the father before died to an incurable disease. Nonetheless, even with a dead husband, Twilight was overall happy with just a foal to love. And when she eventually turned 23, Twilight would soon find herself experiencing the time of her life; the worst time to be more specific, simply because: the Andromedians would soon have started to invade Equestria!
