It's another great day in Ponyville as everyone is outside taking advantage of the perfect weather this Monday, not a cloud in the sky to block the rays of the sun,except for one cloud floating through the sky with a certain rainbow maned mare resting upon it. Rainbow Dash had finished her job to clear the sky two hours ago and is now using the good weather for a good nap.
"Hey Rainbow Dash!" That is until someone called up for her, giving an annoyed groan Rainbow Dash looked down to see who was interrupting her precious nap, she saw an orange earth pony mare with a stetson hat and emerald eyes.
"Hey Applejack what's up,besides me of course." Applejack rolled her eyes at the multi colored mare's response with a smile.
"Ah was wondering if ya like to come with me to get some lunch, my treat." Rainbow Dash couldn't help but smile down on her ground bound friend, she kicks the cloud she was sleeping on as she flew down to join her country friend, the smile never leaving her face as she did.
"Sure I could go for a good hayburger,let's go!" Rainbow Dash said excitedly as she hovered ahead of Applejack as the two walked towards the cafe. After a ten minute walk or fly to the cafe they were imedieatly escorted to a table,it had been a slow day at the cafe which is fine for the two mares as they ordered their drinks and food.
"So Aj, between the crusaders who do you think will be a couple soon?" Rainbow Dash asked as they wait for their drinks and food.
"Beg ya pardon?"
"Scootaloo has a crush on somepony and I think it might be Applebloom or Sweetie Belle, what do you think?" Rainbow Dash said as she stares straight into the emerald green eyes that is Applejack, waiting to hear her friend's reply.
"Well that's kinda a tough one to ask,how do you even know she has a crush at all let along with her crusader friends." Asked Applejack with a puzzled expression.
"Because I'm her mom and I know if my daughter is crushing on some pony,and she looks the happiest when she's with Applebloom and Sweetie Belle." Rainbow Dash said in a slight whisper as if to not blurt a out a big secret.
"That's right ah forgot, you adopted Scootaloo when you where in Cloudsdale , and you were only twelve right?" Rainbow Dash nodded to her friend, the two didn't say anything more when the waiter brought them their food, Rainbow Dash got a hayburger and fries while Applejack got the seizure salad, and leave for other customes.
"Ah still can't believe ya trust me with that, not even Fluttershy knows about that." Applejack continued once no one else was close by to hear. Rainbow Dash had a slight blush on her cyan cheeks.
"Well just remember that was a sign of how much I cherish our friendship." Rainbow Dash said before taking a bite of her food,missing the small blush on Applejack's face. The two ate their food in silence until Applejack spoke.
"So who would you date if you were in Scoots spot?"
"What do you mean?" Rainbow Dash asked with her head tilted.
"OK think of it like this,you me and Rares spend as much time together as the crusaders do,who would ya choose me or Rarity?" This made Rainbow Dash blush as she was having difficulty looking at the mare in front of her as she stumbles with her words.
"W-well I'm not sure how to awnser that honestly." Applejack rolled her eyes to her friend's reply with a small smirk.
"Oh come now Dash ya don't have to worry about hurting my feelings,its Rarity isn't it? She was always the prettier than me."
"That's not true!" Rainbow Dash half-shouted, " I think your way more pretty than anyone I know because you work hard, always help others and you care so much about your family." Rainbow said with full seriousness in her voice and and eyes. Hearing her long time friend say such things about her brought a happy smile to Applejack's face.
"Do ya really mean that Rainbow Dash?" Rainbow nodded her head vigorously.
"Every word of it." She said despite the intense blush to her face and the nervous feeling inside of her. The two mares didn't say anything else and ate their lunch in silence as one of the two begun to have a feeling she didn't have before until now. When the two ponies finished eating Applejack kept her word and paid for both of them, they are now walking to Sweet Apple Acres.
"This was nice, it's been a while since we last hung out with out the others." Rainbow Dash said as she stops to strech her wings before hovering off the ground with Applejack stopping with her.
"Ya it has,well I have chores to do,maybe we can do this again latter?" Applejack asked with a tiny blush on her face for reasons she can't understand.
"Definitely,see ya latter." Rainbow Dash said before flying off to her cloud home with a rainbow trail following behind.
Why do ah feel so weird all of a sudden,is it because of Dash? Applejack ponders as she trots towards her home.
Maybe ah should talk to Twillight about it tommorow . she thought as she keeps on trotting.
"So I'll see you guys tommorow right?" Scootaloo asked looking at her two best friends.
"Wouldn't miss for anything!" Applebloom exclaimed in her southern accent similar to her older sibling,which to Scootaloo sounded kinda cute
"Same here!" Sweetie Belle added in making her voice crack slightly, also which Scootaloo found cute.
"Alright well get our cutie marks tomorrow for sure!" Scootaloo shouted with her friends doing the same, Scootaloo waved goodbye as she heads home on her scooter. Once she reached the cloud mansion she got off her scooter and climbed the cloud made stairs until she reached to the front door. As soon as she entered the house she closed the door and walked through the living room.
Once she was near the kitchen she saw a black pony like creature. It had a black chittin like skin and insect like wings,on its for head sat a crooked horn that looked sharp enough to be a dagger which was lit in a green aura, it also had a familiar rainbow mane.
"Hey mom!" Scootaloo greeted as she gave her adoptive mother an affectionate hug, Rainbow Dash returned the hug as looks at her daughter with red eyes and cat pupils.
"Hey squirt how was your day?" Rainbow inquired,her voice sounding a little distorted.
"Good,but we still didn't get our cutie marks though." Scootaloo said, disappointment laced in her voice, she felt her mother nuzzle the top of her head lovely.
"It'll come when you least expect it, dinner will be ready soon so go ahead and wash up." Rainbow said making Scootaloo look frightened like she heard a really scary story,when Rainbow took notice of this she just rolled her eyes.
"It's been ordered." Scootaloo wiped her forehead in relief.
"Whew, I thought you meant you cooked,that scared me half to death." She said jokingly.
"Oh now you asked for it come here!" Raibow pounced towards the younger fily only for her to cover and ran off, Rainbow gave chase with both of them giggling.
This is the life and secret that both ponies kept between themselves, a pony being raised by a changeling. But for how long can these two hold this secret before it comes out to their friends, and what will they do if it does?

Finally back on the story making business woohoo! And to celebrate I give you this new story of mine.
The pairing is probably obvious but I hope to improve the romance part of it,also I'm not very good with the Apple family accent so bare with me on that.

Pain. That is all she could feel as she laid there on the floor while two older pegasus ponies laughed, one was an orange stallion with a red wine and tail while the other was a yellow mare with a purple mane and tail.
"Did you really think we couldn't find you, Scootaloo?" The mare size with an evil smile on her face as she looks down upon the bruised and weaken filly. The stallion gave another dark laugh as he kicked Scootaloo causing her to help in pain.
"Your not real,your not real." Scootaloo said to herself weakly, the older ponies laughed louder than before.
"Of course we're real, we are your parents!" The stallion exclaimed as he stepped on her back hard making Scootaloo since in pain.
"And as such it is our job to punish you for being so weak." The mother said as she grabbed one of Scootaloo's wings in her mouth, she then pulled hard causing Scootaloo great pain that she could only do one thing.
Rainbow Dash was jolted awake by the sound of screaming, with her maternal instincts taking over she raced down to her child's room, in her changeling form and horn ablaze as she entered the room looking everywhere for her daughter's assulter. all she saw was posters of Wonderbolts, a dresser and a desk.
"Scoots what's wrong are you hurt?" She asked as she ran her eyes over the sobbing filly for injuries.
"I h-had that dream again." Scootaloo choked out through her sobbing, she then felt the cool armor like skin of her mother as she wrapped her hooves around her small boddy,she returned the hug almost instantly as she cried.
"It's okay sweetheart I'm here,I won't let anyone hurt you like they did ever again." Rainbow Dash said in a soothingly as she rubs the younger filly's back to help ease her worries. She looked outside and noticed it was still a bit early before the sun rose.
"Hey you know since it's the weekend and the weather is clear skies,we could spend the day together, how does that sound?" Rainbow Dash said with a smile on her face. Scootaloo sniffed once and smiled at the idea of hanging out with her loving mother.
"Sound like fun,but can we stay like this a little longer?" Rainbow Dash nuzzled the younger pegasus's head affectionately with a warm smile on her face.
"Sure thing squirt." Rainbow Dash said as she curled herself around Scootaloo's body to get more comfortable as the two ponies lay in utter bliss.
Its a good day for the apple cart, a bunch of a apples were sold and because it's the weekend little Applebloom got to help Applejack by using her puppy eyes to bring customers in much to Applejack's amusement. They were about ready to take the cart back when a rush of wind blew over Applejack's head.
"Whew! that was some breeze right there." Applejack reached a hoof to adjust her hat out of habbit,but she only grabbed air.
"Hey Applebloom do ya see where ma hat went?" Before Applebloom could answer the sound of wings flapping caught their attention, they looked up and saw Ponyville's weather manager and scooter enthusiast.
"Hey Aj,whats up?" Rainbow Dash asked as she land in front of the apple siblings, Scootaloo jumped off her back to greet her fellow crusader.
"Hey Applebloom!" Scootaloo said excitedly as the two crusaders hoofed bumped.
"Heya Scoots, I was just helping ma sis with the apple cart today." Applebloom said proudly as she puffs out her chest.
"That she did,anyway what have you two been up to,buying new hats or something ?" In deed Rainbow Dash was wearing a some what new hat today,a brown stetson hat laid on the top of her head, new because she never wore it before.
"What do yall's think, I look pretty darn good with it right?" Rainbow Dash asked in a mocked southern accent, the four ponies laugh as Applejack took her hat back.
"But seriously we've just been hanging out today, right squirt?" Rainbow Dash asked as she looks towards the younger pegasus.
"Yep,just us two spending a day between sisters." Applejack flashed Rainbow Dash a knowing smile.
"Well me and AB are heading home,you two wanna join us for dinner?" Applejack offered , this made the more colorful mare excited with a battery mouth.
"You bet! Apple family food is always the best right Scoots."
"Heh,wouldn't pass it for anything in the world,as long as you don't try and help." Scootaloo said with a teasing smile on her face.
"I'm not that bad!" Rainbow Dash replied as she began to hover off the ground.
"You sat the kitchen, which was made of clouds, on fire when you tried to cook spaghetti!" Scootaloo said as she re-called the event like it was yesterday. Rainbow Dash only stuck her tounge out as a reply which made everyone laugh as they began the walk to the apple orchards.
Dinner was lively at the farm tonight with Rainbow Dash's stories and jokes to Scootaloo teasing her or Applebloom but different times they each screwed up something in the most hilarious ways. Now the two crusaders are playing tag in the dark while their respective guardians watched from the porch.
"Something wrong Rainbow?" Applejack asked worriedly while the pegasus next to her tilts her head curiously.
"What do you mean?" She asked
"Don't play dumb I know when something is bothering ya sugercube so spill." Applejack demanded softly,Rainbow Dash sighed seeing no way around it knowing full well how stuborn her friend can be.
"When I told you about how I adopted Scoots there was something I didn't mention, Scootaloo's birth parents were abusive and would hurt her every chance they got." Rainbow Dash was having a hard time keeping her anger in control,she felt Applejack place her hoof comfortingly on her shoulder and giving an encouraging smile,that smile made Rainbow Dash feel better as she told the rest of the story.
"They did it because of her undeveloped wings, a birth defect,and I couldn't go to the police because abusing foal pegausi that can't fly is considered legal,so I brought it to my self save her while they were a sleep. You already know the rest from there." Applejack had a deep look into her gaze as she processed what she heard with a frown on her face.
"So if ah'm hearing this right then your not Scootaloo's legal guardian since you basically kidnap her,right?" She said as she stares at her companion who had a frustrated look on her face.
"Yeah pretty much,and since I technically kidnapped her then I'd be in serious trouble if they found us." She said watching as Scootaloo chased Applebloom into the barn. Before Applejack could reply Rainbow Dash quickly stood up with a serious expression on her face looking toawdss the barn.
"Applebloom and Scootaloo are in trouble."
What are ya talking about Dash,if they were in trouble they would have yelled or something." Applejack said trying to calm her friend's random worries.
"They can't if the changeling is forcing them to be quiet." This made Applejack stand up in surprise of Rainbow Dash's statement.
"What do ya mean by tha-"
"We dont have time we need to save them!" Rainbow Dash interrupted as she began to fly towards the barn,Applejack quickly followed behind in case there really was trouble and paranoia. When they entered the barn they saw the two crusaders being suspended mid-air in a orange colored aura,the source of said aura belonged to a changeling drone with a dark orange shell on its back and orange eyes with white dots as pupils.
"Let them go you creep!" Rainbow Dash demanded as she glared at the changeling.
"Damn,so much for using these two as desguises oh well." The changeling said in a mare's voice. Applejack would have yelled something thing to her if not for Rainbow Dash shoving her to the side,but she became grateful for it when she saw two more changelings crash down on the spots they were standing seconds ago. This made the changeling holding the two fillies frown in annoyance and confusion, annoyed because now eliminating the two element bearers will take longer than planned,and confusion of the rainbow maned pegasus, 'those two drones were the stealthiest of the hive and there's no way the two brats could warn them with there mouths forced shut,so how the hell did that pegasus know of their presence?'.
"Nice try but you need to do better than that to beat me." Rainbow Dash said as stood back up with a cocky smirk on her face.
"Don't get so cocky,we still out number you and we have these two as hostages." The drone said indicating to the younger fillies with her head.
"Yeah your right,i better fix that." Rainbow Dash said, there was a pop like sound next to the drone's head when she turned towards the sound she became baffled of what she is seeing; or rather what she doesn't see as the two fillies had dissapeared,when she turned looking for where they had gone she spotted them next to the rainbow maned pegasus. That was when she saw it, a horn was perched on top of her head. 'that wasn't there before!' she thought as she stares at the pegasus in slight fear, the two other drones picked up on this and became cautious.
"Rainbow Dash since when did became an alic-." Applebloom was saying before she suddenly fell a sleep,s he was then gently carried over to her big sister who was also asleep by a blue aura.
"Sorry guys but I can't let you get involve here." Rainbow Dash said softly as she made a blue magic dome around the two sleeping ponies. Once she made sure they were safe she did the same to her daughter.
"Go get them mom!" Scootaloo cheered inside the dome, Rainbow Dash gave her a warm smile before she looked back to the three changelings,any warm and care she had in her eyes was replaced with cold and killimg intent,and it was directed to the three changelings.
"I don't care why your here or who sent you but I'm gonna make you regret touching my daughter." Rainbow Dash said coldly,when she took one step it triggered a reflex from one of the drones to attack, it went for a punch to her face but Rainbow reacted too quick for it and pushed herself up to a bipedal positsion allowing the punch to past, but before it stopped completley Rainbow grabed the extended hoof and spung around using great strengh to sping the changling as well,once she was ready she threw it toawrds the other changeling that hadn't moved at all and knocked both of them out in seconds.
There is no way she can be normal,was the intel bad? The female changeling thougt as she observed the 'fight',unfourtantly while she pondered on the idea she was off guard for a purple magic blast, her muscles locked in place and stiff making movement impossible, a paralysis spell she deduced and a strong one too.
"You know, its kinda rude to let your mind wonder in front of an enemy." Rainbow siad in a tone that fits a lecturing teacher as she walks on all fours closer to the frozen changeling.
"I know I saw your aura was blue, so why did it change color?" the changling said, her mouth was not as paralyze as the rest of her body so talking was still easy despite her current situation.
"Sorry but that information is classified." Rainbow said in a mock military tone, she then grew a serious expression as her horn lit up with magic,this time it was green.
"Besides I wan't awnsers for what your queen had planned if she intended to take my daughter and her friend." Rainbow said as she touched her horn to the imobile changeling's head, a few minutes passed before Rainbow removed her horn from the changeling, her expression was that of an angry being with her teeth clenched into a snarl and her eyes held an intense fire of hatered behind her crimson red eyes, in that moment she gave an intense dark aura.
This is hatred Im sensing,no not just sense I can actually see it. the changeling was frightened more than ever before, in this moment she is not seeing a pony, but a demon.
"Listen carefully because i'm only saying this once,stay away from Ponyville and my daughter or else i will destroy your entire hive. Make sure Queen Exelles gets this message." When she finished with the short messeage she teleported the three invaders away,onece that was done the sheild around Scootaloo and the apple siblings vanished.
"Mom?" Scootaloo could tell that her mother was troubled, despite her age Scootaloo was more observent and knew that her mother's trouble had to do somthing with what she saw in the invaader's mind.Rainbow grabed her daughter into a tight embrace like she would desapear if she let go.
"Its okay squirt just a little shaken up is all,darn memmory spell always make things too real."That was only half of the truth, when reading another beings memmories the caster feels verything the other being felt and has to be strong minded to remmeber that it was just a memmory and not real.However that was not the case this time, invader was not in any danger so Rainbow didn't feel any of their pain,it was the order thy were given that disturbed her.
"What did you see, did it have anything to do with me and Applebloom?" It never ceases to amaze Rainbow of her daughter's intellegence,makes her proud as a mother.
"Don't worry about it kiddo,as long as I'm around then they won't even come near you." Rainbow promised as she ruffled the younger pony's mane elicting a giggle from her. Scootaloo wasn't afraid of what the changelling's wanted from her because no matter what she can always count on her mother to save her.
She can always count on her Mother.

I know the fight scene wasn't all that good and a bit rushed but to be honest I was never good at making up the fighting scenes but I swear next time will be better than this one so please be patient with it.
