Before the rule of Discord Equestria had been divided into two regions. The first ruled by the Alicorn royal family and the second ruled by the Draconequus. Each side wanting to own all of Equestria, it got to the point of war and blood was shed across the land. Both sides were at war before the birth of Celestia and Luna but their story begins with their father. A Alicorn stallion who wasn't even a part of the Alicorn royal blood line, instead he came from humble beginnings. His father was a black smith named Farrier and his mother a teacher of magic named Kismet. The stallion was born a single foal with no younger or older siblings. Born a small foal but with such a big destiny.
Our story begins the fateful night that the stallion was born.
The rain was relentless as thunder lit up the sky. Many were safely tucked away in their homes out of the storm but not Farrier. He was still had at work making yet another set of armor for the Alicorn gaurd. His black coat shined with the swet of his labor as he gave the mighty hamer another swing, using his magic that glowed a color of light blue. With a heavy sigh he looked at the results of his past few weeks. Finally the last piece of the armor was finished and now he only needed to creat the sword. For an Alicorn a weapon had to be specially designed for the owner. Not all would weald a sword instead some hade axes, staffs, or even on rare occasions double swords. The weapon had to be specially made for the magic the alicorn possesed. Some need a weapon with grace and others needed one of pure power. Throwing another piece of wood on the fire he gave a few flaps of his wings to get it to grow.
The sound of hoofs on the wet earth got his attention as he turned to see a light green mare with brown hair pulled up into a bun,it was Leya. Leya was the local midmare who had been staying at his home with his expecting wife. "Farrier come quick the foal is coming!"
Dropping the wood into the fire he gallaped through the rian to his home. It was a small cottage that he had built when he had married his wife Kismet. The style was simple with four rooms, a kitchen, two bedrooms, and lastly a living room.Pushing open the large door he quickly went to their room were she was waiting. "Kismet are you alright?" He sked with worry across his face.
"I'm as good as a mare can be in labor." Kismet replied with a gentle smile. It quickly faded as another contraction approached.
Leya had returned again pushing past the stallion. "Sir you must leave."
"I am not leaving." He said as he stomped his front hoof. A scraem left Kismets mouth as another painful contraction hit.
Pacing in the front room in front of the fire Farrier couldn't help but feel uneasy. The screams of pain had quited hours ago but still Leya had not returned with news. Finally he sat on his haunches by the fir letting it warm his fur. Facing the door that lead to their room. Leya had exited the room a few times to gather fresh towels and water but no words were exchanged. In all honesty Frarrier hade grown more nurvous since his wife had stopped screaming. He wondered if the screams had silenved becauase she had passed. No, he thought shaking his head, if that had accured Leya would have told you ammediantly.Closign his eyes the warmth of the fire lulled him to sleep.
A creekign noise had woken Frarrier making him blink in a daze. He hand't realised he had fallen asleep but now his senses were allert. Leya exited the room her once neat bun now complety goce. Her straight mane cascading down her neck.
Jumping to his feet he gave a worried expression to the small earth pony. "Is she alright?"
A smile cover Leyas face as she nodded. "Congratulations on being a new dad Frarrier. Kismet is resting but she wishes to see you. NOw don't keep her up too long she needs to sleep."
As The mare left his home he took in a deep breath. Walking into the room he couldn't help but small as he saw the bundle in his wifes arms. Her light blue coat glowed in a way only a new mother could. Her light blue silver eyes shined along with her black mane. "COme and see our little stallion." She said with a broad smile. Walking forward Frarrier was causious scared that he would disdurb what little peace there was. In his wifes arms was a tinny dark blue foal with a black mane that had blue highlights. "He is perfect." Frarrier commented as he sat beside Kismet.
"What should we name him?" he asked in wonder as he watched the foal stir. It blinked open its eyes that were the same as its mothers.
"I was thinkign we could name him Orpheus." Kismet commented making Frarrier look in suprise. "You realise what Orpheus means my dear?"
"I am well aware many think it mean darkness, but it can mean so much more! It could mean beautiful song o-"
Farrier interruped with a grim look on his face. "It could mean fatherless."
KIsmet looked to her husband studying his expression. "My love a name doesn't define any pony the pony defines the name. Orpheus might have been a name based on the actions of other ponys but our son wont be like those before him. He can change what his name means just like he can change history itself."
Farrier gave a gentle chuckle at his wifes words. "You think he can change history itself?"
"I beleive he is going to change all of Equestria."
