Sour n Sunny Go To The Supermarket

It was Friday afternoon at Crystal Prep Academy and school was almost over. The Shadowbolts Were discussing an upcoming winter storm coming to Canterlot this evening.

"I heard a foot of snow dude!" Lemon Zest told her friends.

"There might be more." Sugarcoat added.

"I'll just get the sled out! We can go up that one hill." Indigo was suggesting.

"Yeah man! I'm all in for that!" Lemon high-fived Indigo.

"I know I'll be making my homemade hot cocoa. You're all welcome to try it." Sunny smiled.

"I heard you burnt out Cinch's fireplace. That was awesome." Lemon laughed.

"Yeah. Pretty good shot if I say so myself. But about this winter storm, we just had one like a week ago!" Sour Sweet said.

"I'm sure I'll have to hit the store after school and pick up a few things." Sunny thought.

"Yeah same. I wanna get that new CD by Blue Day!" Lemon announced.

Sour Sweet saw someone coming their way and poked Sunny. She pointed towards Principal Cinch.

"Great we're busted!" Sour Sweet quietly said.

"Sunny Flare." Cinch said.

"Yes Aunt Cinch?" Sunny asked in the most bored tone.

"I need to go to school board meeting after the bell. Will be kind to go the supermarket and get a few things for me." She handed her a list and some money.

"Yes ma'am." Sunny frowned a bit.

"Thank you and be sure you're caught up in your work." Cinch reminded and hurried away.

"I feel bad for you." Sugarcoat said to Sunny.

“It is what it is, still pretty mad at her.” Sunny sighed.

“Want me to come with you? I gotta get a few things for my sis.” Sour asked.

“That would be nice. I’m sure it’ll be crowded.” Sunny rolled her eyes.

”Oh not at the supermarket! If you're five and you don't know what you are doing!" Sour remarked.

"Still be careful. I'm gonna hit the gym." Indigo showed the peace sign and went to work out.

The bell rang as Lemon Zest walked out to her usual heavy metal, "ART OF WAR!!" She rocked out unaware of others around her. Sugarcoat walked out behind her. Then Sour and Sunny.

Sunny looked at the list again, "It's not that bad of a list. Only a few things. Pumpkin Spice Coffee Mix, Low Fat Yogurt, Skim Milk."

"How many kinds of milks are there now?" Sour asked.

"A lot." Sunny chuckled.

"Low Fat, Skim, 1%, 2%, acidophilus milk, even lactose intolerant milk!" Sour Sweet facepalmed.

"How do you know that? Was it agriculture class freshman year?" Sunny asked.

"Unfortunately." Sour Sweet rolled her eyes.

"Come on. Let's go to the store. It's getting colder by the minute. Like the cold halls that this school is full of. Wishing to fix it like a-" Sunny was cut off.

"Umm. Is this a thing you do all the time?" Sour asked.

"Ehh. I can't help it." Sunny felt embarrassed.

They finally reached the supermarket after walking a few blocks. They walked in, Walmart looked like the usual day. Wasn't packed.

"At least it isn't the day after Thanksgiving." Sunny chuckled.

"Oh yes the time when we get to go shopping and act like wild animals!" Sour Sweet said.

"We don't have to worry about that dearie." Sunny calmed her and got a cart.

They went over to the coffee section to find pumpkin spice coffee mix.

"Pumpkin Spice...here it is." Sunny took one a thing of it and put it in her cart.

Sour Sweet looked at an air freshener that was pumpkin spice flavored.

"Pumpkin Spice air freshener? That's like living inside a pumpkin pie! Might as well live in a too sweet, I'm gonna choke on this pumpkin pie."

"Yeah. Not sure how to think of those. They're nice. But. Yeah." Sunny wasn't quite sure what to say.

"Even with pumpkin spice coffee. You might as well take the pumpkin pie, squeeze it, broil it and chug it down."

"They've been selling this kind if stuff since September 2nd dearie." Sunny added.

"Yeah. It's December now." Sour crossed their arms and continued going.

They went to the dairy section and looked for low fat yogurt.

"What kind does she want? I know my sister love these. Might as well get some for her." Sour picked out a couple.

"Strawberry and banana." Sunny found a couple strawberry ones.

"Meh. I prefer key lime. So does my sister. She LOVES key lime." Sour emphasized on loves.

"I can't find the banana.." Sunny sighed.

"I always thought it would be tough to find." Sour said.

"It always is." Sunny groaned.

"Because it's Cinch!" Sour grunted.

"No worries. I'll give her your suggestion." Sunny took a couple key lime yogurts.

"Any blueberry ones left?" A certain blunt voice approached them.

"Sugarcoat?" Sour looked at her.

"Hi."

"How are you?" Sunny asked.

"Good."

"Here." Sunny handed her a couple blueberry yogurts.

"Oh. Thanks. How's the search going?" Sugarcoat asked.

"Meh. It's ok. I just need one more thing left."

"Actually. Two." Sour moved Sunny's finger.

"Huh?" She looked at the list, "Oh dear...."

"Lemme guess, something personal to Cinch that I should hear about?" Sugarcoat asked.

"Yeah.." Sunny groaned.

"Ok. Well. Text me when you get home. I better get going." Sugarcoat checked her purse.

"Alright. Take care dearie." Sunny said.

"Bye~" Sour waved.

"See ya." Sugarcoat walked off.

"What is this personal thing if I may ask?" Sour asked.

"Umm. I-Its ointment..." Sunny sighed.

"For what?"

Sunny whispered  in her ear, "Let's just say someone put a snapping turtle in her seat last week..."

"Oh my goodness!!" Sour Sweet gasped and covered her mouth.

"Yeah. Let's get the milk and go to the pharmacy section...." Sunny wasn't excited at all anymore. She just wanted to go home.

They got the Skim milk and went to the pharmacy on the other side of the store. Sunny was waiting anxiously, hoping no one would see her. Her and Sour were in line for a bit but they managed to get to the front in no time. It seemed everything was going to be fine until....

"Hello ma'am how can I help you?" A nice lady behind the counter asked.

"Hi. I'm picking up something for my aunt. Last name Cinch?"

She looked into a list, "Ahh that ointment. One second please." She went to the back. Sunny was relaxed until she heard a certain rocker girl's laughter.

"Sunny? You're picking up what now?" Lemon snorted.

Sunny groaned, "Lemon...it's for my aunt."

"I feel bad for ya man!" Lemon Zest's voice was risen due to her loud music into her headphone.

"Lemon could you-"

"We are OBJECTI-FI-ED!!" She rocked out to her music

"Lemon could you tone it down a bit?" Sunny asked closely.

"Oh about the ointment??" Lemon said to where a couple people gave some stares.

Sour Sweet gently lifted her headphone from her ear, "Lemon Zest, could you be a dear and TONE IT DOWN!"

"Whoa whoa whoa, sorry man. Got carried away there." Lemon turned her volume down.

"Well I'm just saying you embarrassed Sunny." Sour pointed out to Sunny's red face.

"Here's the ointment ma'am. There's instructions in the bag. Figure I don't embarrass you." The lady gave it to her.

"Thanks. Have a good one."

"You too!" She waved as she went back to Sour and Lemon.

"Sorry about that man." Lemon apologized.

"It's fine Lemon Zest." Sunny smiled a little.

"You sure? I was worried the whole store heard me." Lemon said.

"I don't know this is a pretty big store." Sour said.

"Yeah. Trust me. I bet someone's sister has some interesting secrets about her." Sunny smirked to Sour.

"W-what?" Sour jumped.

"Ooooooh~" Lemon chuckled.

"You know. Mr-" Sour covered her mouth, knowing Sunny was going to talk about her teddy bear.

"Nothing! Nothing at all!" Sour awkwardly laughed.

Sour chuckled, "Hey I'll spare you dearie."

"Thanks." Sour put her arm around her.

"Dudes let's get out before the snow hits!" Lemon chuckled.

"I agree. To the checkout lines!" Sour hopped in the cart.

"I loved this as a kid!" Sunny pushed her to the checkout lines. Lemon raced them without any harm as they ran into Sugarcoat and Indigo.

Sugarcoat raised an eyebrow, but then smiled a bit, "Oh you guys."

"If there's one thing we can take out of this, it's that it's ok to have these secrets. Especially if you have close friends to share it with." Sunny hugged them.

"Awwww!" They all hugged.

"Especially never grow old!" Indigo added and they laughed.

Later, Sunny walked into Cinch's place with the things she needed.

"I'm back from Walmart Aunt Cinch!" She called out.

Cinch came out from her bedroom/office. She went up to her and took the bag.

"Exactly as I requested. Did they run out of banana flavored yogurt?" She saw the key lime.

"Sadly. Sour Sweet suggested key lime. Sunny flinched feeling like she threw her friend underneath a bus.

"Haven't had this in a while....This'll do." Cinch approved, "Thank you Sunny."

Cinch then did something even Sunny wouldn't expect. She hugged her. Sunny was shocked.

However, Cinch adjusted her glasses and said, "Get home soon. It's beginning to snow. Be careful."

Sunny smiled, "Yes ma'am."

She then left to meet up with Sour Sweet in at her place, where they had a Slumber Party with the other girls to enjoy a wonderful snowy night.
