The Grand Galloping Gala. Crystal was very excited. She was talking with Vanilla Mocha about it. "Don't worry, Crystal. I'm sure Galaxy will ask you." She said, smiling. Crystal smiled as they walked the bridge towards the park. Her eyes gazed at one pony in particular teaching the Cutie Mark Crusaders how to play baseball. Mocha noticed and smirked. "You want your coltfriend to ask you, don't you Crys?" She asked. "Yes." Crystal sighed. "I've know him since we were little, and he's such a sweetheart! I mean he doesn't care what others think, he doesn't judge people based on who or what they like, and he loves ponies for who they are." She said. Mocha put a hoof around her. "I'm sure he'll go with you to the Gala." She smiled. They watched me play baseball. One of the younger ponies hit a home run. "Whoa!" I exclaimed. "Nice one, Sweetie Belle!" I laughed. Sweetie Belle laughed as she ran all the bases. Rainbow Dash had also asked me to teach Scootaloo how to fly. Crystal giggled as she and Mocha watched me play with the girls. I glanced over. "Hey Mocha. Hey Crystal!" I called. They walked over. "Hey girls." I smiled. Crystal blushed a light red when she saw me. "Hey, Galaxy." Crystal smiled. Mocha looked at her watch. "Hey guys, I gotta go, catch ya later." She said as she trotted off towards the Ponyville Library. Crystal and I just stood there. "So....." I said, not knowing what to do. "So....." Crystal replied. "Hey Crys, the Grand Galloping Gala is tonight." I said. Crystal sighed and turned away. "And, I happen to have an extra ticket." I pulled out the ticket. Crystal gasped. "I was wondering if you would maybe like to go to the Gala with me?" I asked. "Oh, Galaxy." Crystal looked at me and smiled. "I'd love to." She hugged me. I hugged her back. "I'll come pick you up later tonight, OK?" I asked. Crystal nodded and smiled. Rarity came by to pick up the girls. "Hey Rare, I got something to ask ya." I said to her. She smiled with determination. "Now, let me see what I have for a dashing stallion such as you." Rarity smiled a few hours later. I was at Castle Boutique, finding an outfit. "Hmm, stetson?" She asked. "No no no." I shook my head. "I need something....good, something.....decent." I then saw a black fedora with a dark blue blue collared shirt and dark blue blazer with a red bow-tie. "Now that could work." I said as I grabbed the outfit and went into the changing room. The fedora covered most of my mane and my bangs came down from it. The shirt and coat fit snug on me. I fastened the bow-tie and walked out. Rarity gasped. "Yes yes, oh yes, darling!" Rarity laughed in determination. "That will definitely look great for the Gala tonight!" She smiled. "Thanks Rare, how much do I owe ya for it?" I asked, taking out my wallet. Rarity laughed. "Oh keep it darling. It suits you." She told him. "No charge at all, cause that's what friends are for." She smiled. I gave her a small smile. "Thanks, Rarity." I said, hugging her. I checked my watch. "Ah, I should be going. Promised Crystal I'd pick her up for the Gala." I told Rarity. Rarity laughed in delight. "Ooh! Somepony's got a date!" She giggled. I chuckled. "My marefriend, Crystal. She was real excited when I asked her." I told her. Rarity smiled. "Best of luck to you, darling." She said, kissing my cheek gently. I chuckled nervously and smiled. "Thanks, Rare." I said. "Allons-Y!" I shouted in determination as I trotted to Crystal's place. I knocked on the door, and out came Crystal in a bright purple dress and white shoes. "Wow. You look amazing." I said. Crystal blushed. "Shall I escort you to the Gala?" I smiled. "You may, Galaxy." Crystal giggled as we got on the train for Canterlot. Once we arrived, the place was packed. Quillton Brooks, my best pal, was with Sunset Shimmer telling her how me and him travel through time and space and sometimes save a planet or two. Sunset giggled. "Hello, everypony!" Twilight said as she walked up on the stage. "I'm so glad everypony could come here to take part in Celestia's annual New Year's Grand Galloping Gala!" She smiled as music started playing. Even Discord was here. "Oh ho ho! Galaxy Nebula, what a surprise you're here." He laughed. I chuckled. "Good to see you too, Discord." I said to him. I looked around. "Hey Discord, where's your date to the Gala?" I asked. "Oh, sadly Fluttershy couldn't make it. She had a fever and I didn't want her to get any more sick, so I told her to just stay at home and rest." Discord said. Me and Crystal smiled. "You're a good friend, Discord." Crystal told him. Discord smiled. "Hang on, Discord, why didn't you stay home with Fluttershy to make sure she was feeling OK?" I asked suspiciously. Discord sighed. "Tree Hugger came over to watch her and told me go to to the Gala. I looked at Fluttershy, she nodded and told me to go have fun. I'm going to make sure she's feeling better when I get back." Discord said. That's when his favorite song came on. His ears perked up. "Oh ho, this is my favorite!" He laughed as he begun dancing with Twilight. Twilight let out a yelp of surprise. "Oh don't be like that, Twilight, tonight's supposed to be fun!" Discord told her. "Oh fine, but only one dance, Discord." Twilight sighed and smiled as she danced with her friend. I looked at my marefriend. "Thank you for inviting me, Galaxy." She smiled. "I don't know what I would do tonight if I hadn't gone." She told me. We walked out to the balcony. I held out a hoof. She looked at my hoof, and smiled. She took my hoof and we slowly began dancing a slow dance. The big clock donged midnight. It was now New Year's day. "New Year's." I told her. She nodded. "Crystal, I love you, so so much." I smiled. "I love you too, Galaxy." She smiled, blushing as our lips connected for the New Year's kiss. Mocha glanced out the window and smiled. "Only them." She said to herself. She then sipped her cider and just smiled at me and Crystal dancing the night away at the New Year's Gala. That's when a huge crashing noise startled everypony, including me and Crystal. We rushed in. "What the hell was that?" I asked Mocha. She shrugged. Then, we saw what made that noise. One of the glass windows had shattered and fell to the ground. That's when we saw Discord outside, holding what looked like a baseball bat. He was playing baseball with the younger fillies. He'd swung the ball so hard it shattered the window. "Oops." He said, speechless on what just happened. Celestia was also a bit drunk too, and every time she tried standing up, she just fell back down, laughing. Quillton and Sunset had walked up. "Talk about an interesting night." I told my best buddy.
