The Perfect Life
Ding! I woke to the sound of a text arriving on my phone. I slowly turned, dragging it of my bedside table. I sighed, it was probably spam. I turned it on anyway, and was delighted to see it was from James, my boyfriend. Hey, babe. it said, u wanna go out tonight? I smiled. I don't even think he needed to ask, I would never say no to him. Sure I typed back. When and where? I pressed the send button, and loud ding signified that the reply had come. Pick u up at 7? I sent a reply almost immediately. See you then! xox
I stared at the ceiling, inspecting the small bumps and dents in the white paint, seeing what pictures I could find. Ok, I might seem like a bit of a weirdo staring at walls, but I had literally nothing else to do. Some people would say I was living the perfect life. Big house, pretty, popular, great boyfriend. And, don't get me wrong, I loved my life! Only, sometimes it could be a bit well, boring! Most people would do anything to have my life, I mean, it seemed so perfect! It's just, nothing ever happened! All I wanted is a bit of adventure, is that so much to ask?
The sound of another text arriving woke me from my trance. I sighed, that always seemed to happen at the wrong moment. Reluctantly, I turned over in bed reaching for my phone. Hey Lizzie, wanna meet in town? I heard there's a sale at New Look, and I need to get my hands on those red shoes I saw last week! I laughed, even when she didn't even know something was wrong, my best friend Beth always knew what to do!
I was bored. It felt like I had been waiting for Beth for house, even though it had only been a couple of minutes. I looked around the shops once again. Eventually, I saw a figure with bouncing blonde hair walking towards me. No, wait, was she skipping? I sighed and gave a small chuckle, of course she was, she skipped everywhere. I wished I could be happy all the time like her.
"Hey girl!" Said Beth, sounding as bubbly as ever.
"Hey!" I replied, glad I could finally have a bit of fun.
"Come on!" Beth said, suddenly grabbing my hand. "It's shoe time!" I laughed as I let her drag me towards New Look, which was covered in big 'sale' and '50% of' signs.
As we ran into the shop, Beth steered be towards the shoe section. She grabbed a pair of red heels. She waved them in front of my face, almost poking me in the eye with the pointed heel at the end. "What'd ya think?" She said, grinning. "Are they nice or what?"
"They're great!" I replied "You're sure to get that boy you're after now! He won't be able to take his eyes off you!"
"You think so?" She blushed
"Off course! How could he not? They really suit you!" I said, encorougingly.
"And only..." She checked the label "£15.99!"
After a couple more hours of shopping, our hands were completing full of bags from various shops. We were totally shopped out, and needed somewhere to sit down and have something to eat.
"Come on, let's go to Starbucks." I said, pointing to the Starbucks sign in the distance.
"Kk! I'm like, totally craving some Starbucks coffee! Ooh! And cake!" Said Beth, rubbing her tummy. "If I don't have cake now, I might like, die or something!"
"Well, we wouldn't want that, would we?" I said. "Come on then, let's go." We began to walk towards Starbucks. I could feel my fingers turning red from having so many bags hanging from them. I took a glance at Beth's fingers, and noticed that hers were the same. If you'd have asked me to name all the things I'd got today, I wouldn't be able to tell you. That's how much stuff I had bought! It's a good thing both me and Beth's parents were well-off, or we'd have defiantly spent all our money in just a few shopping trips.
When we finally arrived at Starbucks we chose the closest table and sat strait down. The waiter recognised us immediately. "The usual?" She said, smiling.
"Yep!" Said Beth, cheerful at the thought of coffee and cake.
"Ok, thanks. I'll be right back with your order!" Said the waitress. She was young and pretty, about 16, the same age as me and Beth, perhaps a bit older. Beth and I were regular customers, so we had made good friends with her.
After about five minuets, she returned, with two cups of coffee, a chocolate cake and a coffee cake in her hands. She put the coffee cake in front of me, as well as one of the cups of coffee. "So, you girls been shopping?" She said as I poured milk into my coffee.
"Yeah." I replied "Beth wanted some shoes from New Look while they were on sale."
"By the lookes of things, you bought more than a pair of shoes!" She laughed.
"Yeah...well" I blushed."You know how it goes." She laughed.
"Yeah, course I know. It only happens like, every weekend!"
"Does not!" I said, playfully.
I suddenly realised Beth was being unusually quiet, until I realised she had her mouth stuffed with cake. A few more minuets of laughing and talking went by, and I realised that I had finished my coffee. "We should probably get going." I said, dragging Beth to her feet.
"I'd better get back to the kitchen before my boss realises what I've been doing!" She laughed
"Ok! See you soon!" I shouted as we left the door.
"See you!" She said after us.
When I got home, I lay on my bed, wondering what to do. I checked my phone to see the time, and was surprised to see that it was 6 o'clock. We were out a lot longer than I'd thought!
It was time to get ready to go out with James!
I wandered into my walk-in-wardrobe and began to pick out an outfit to wear. I suddenly heard a thump from inside my room. At first I ignored it, thinking it was just a figment of my imagination, but as I started to hear whispering voices, I began to worry more and more. Eventually, I plucked up enough courage to see what it was. I slowly walked into my room, and when I saw what was infront of me, I couldn't believe my eyes!
Prologue: Simply Breathtaking
Prologue: Simply Breathtaking
Twilight looked down. Breathtaking. Simply breathtaking. By the lookes on her friends faces, who stood with her, surrounding the jem, they were having the exact same thoughts as Twilight. The jem seemed to reflect beams of light across the room, which was strange, since there was no sunlight. There were no words worthy enough to describe it. It was truly the most beautiful thing the six friends had ever seen.
It was totally unique. One of a kind. Most ponies had never even heard of it before, let alone take in its breathtaking beauty with their own eyes. Yet, here they were, stood around it, about to perform one of the oldest spells in pony history. This spell went back even past star swirl the bearded!
"Are you ready girls?"
"Yeah! LETS DO THIS!"
"This is gonna be so awesome!"
"Simply fabulous, darlings!"
"Um...yay."
"Let's go y'all!"
The ponies gathered closer around the jem, so close they were almost blinded. Twilight's horn began to glow, until it turned so bright the six ponies were no longer visible. Twilight thought she heard a something, she hesitated for a split second. It had sounded like a laughter, but not the joyful kind. It was so distant, but still enough to send shivers up her spine. She brushed it off. There was no going back now, she had to finish this.
Something wasn't right. Twilight had no idea what, but she definitely felt uneasy. You could argue it was just nerves, after all, it was one of the most powerful spells she had ever done. But no, this was different, stronger, deeper. Before she could give it any more thought, she felt herself falling...falling...
