Why would we want to go to your dumb party?

"Ugh! Why are we even here?!" Adagio Dazzle said with her trademark grunt and groan of angst as music blared on all sides around her and The Dazzlings. It had been a few days since The Battle of the Bands that had left them with almost no powers, shells of their former selves. Well almost anyway, why? because of that guy who found them after said competition and was actually willing to help them get said powers back. the way he picked them up in his car and went on about saying how he actually kind of enjoyed the whole ordeal of being mind jacked by them. At first they thought it was just some sick joke to further drive home the fact that they where screwed badly with no gems and no powers, but when when their gems, even though shattered slowly glowing (blue not red) even though it was a very faint glow, they couldn't help but wonder if there was a chance that not all was lost in their lives.

However that hadn't stopped the other students from giving them stink eye looks and glares the next day when they went back to class, and then their was getting called to see Principal Celestia and vice principal Luna for their actions. When they took their seats at the desk with both of them looking at them quite angry at the whole, having our minds altered by you girls, Sonata turned bright red, Aria only scowled trying to face off them, Adagio put on her best, "I'm sorry...daddy, your little princess would never do it again," face. As the sister school authorities gave them almost no leeway.

So it was now Friday night, The Dazzlings where  on quote unquote "DOUBLE SECRET PROBATION!" As per Celestia and Luna's agreement to allow them back to school with as minimal collateral damage as possible, they had to clean the amphitheater as per said sentencing, and the majority of the students didn't take too kindly to them over the course of the week. It wasn't just glares and dirty looks either, In classes it was an eraser or worse, a painful "paper bullet" to the back of their necks. "I thought we were seniors you jerks!" Was what Sonata said after the third one felt like it would take her ear off. Then their was the sod who stuck a sprite can upside down in Aria's backpack, resulting in her homework getting ruined, and finally the assorted bits various snack Adagio had to go picking out of her untamed mane after they tried to have lunch in peace in the cafeteria.

So you're probably wondering why they had been invited to a party the weekend after to celebrate the victory by the girls they hated right? Well...That's because there was one (besides that boy) at Canterlot High who didn't see them as social pariahs in spite of their actions, Sunset Shimmer. When she saw those girls, getting harassed, and bullied by everyone because of how they acted, it made her emphatic understanding of their plight more than strong. She herself had gotten the forgiveness by the others she so desperately wanted more than anything, but in her joy to see that she had gotten what she wanted, she almost completely missed the fact that The Dazzlings didn't get that same chance she did.

When she had lost after an attempted debacle for egotistic goals, the Equestrian Twilight still believed in her. She didn't send her back through the portal, back to Princess Celestia "to be punished," but rather let her stay here and take the role she wanted backed in Equestria. Was there...anyone to do that or something like that for the Dazzlings here? (That she knew of) No, they had fled under a cloud of anger and hatred that day and it followed them around all week. Not one friendly face to look upon them and say, It's okay. It was earlier that Friday when The Dazzlings where leaving class that Sunset approached them, she heard Aria grunt as she pulled a piece of gum from her pig tail, thankfully having worked it loose.

"I swear if these stupid pranks haven't stopped by Monday, them I'm going to bring a can of gas and a matchbook to school Tuesday!" She said not caring if anyone heard it.

"Hey if you're going to start fires, can you wait till after lunch on Tuesday? You know that's my favorite day, even with all the abuse the others have been dishing out on us." Sonata said in her usual ditz self, not seemingly aware Aria's remark alone could have gotten her expelled or even arrested.

"Oh give it a rest both of YOU!" Adagio said to them both as they walked home. "The week was bad enough but at least we have the weekend to look forward to." they both softened up a bit when they were reminded the week was out and they wouldn't have to worry about much of anything for a while.

"At least John's at home with after school snacks ready, that boy can really make sweets." Sonata said cheerfully as she took a bottle of fruit punch from her bag and took a swig.

"Must run in the family, with a name like Sweetstuff," Adagio said before she caught a glimpse of red and orange hair in her sight be "Hey! What ARE DOING HERE!?" She pointed towards the trees planted along the sidewalk, Sunset stepped out from behind the trees and walked up to them smiling casually, but also nervously. "Come to add more salt to our wounds have you Sunset?" Aria said cracking her knuckles intimidatingly at her.

"What?! NO!...I I just...Listen...Girls...I know things haven't been looking so good this past week." Sunset said as she nervously rubbed behind her head. "Trust in me when I say that I know what you're all going through, because the same thing happened to me last year...or so." Sunset said as looked as The Dazzlings folded their arms across their chests and looked at her with sneers at her approach. Save for Adagio who only smirked and only said.

"Oh is that so? Ms. I won't be afraid anymore?" She said as she circled around Sunset in a way eerily similar to how she had tried to convince Sunset that she would never be accepted by anyone to get her stressed in the days leading up to the battle. "You...have...no idea what this week has been like...have you noticed anything...familiar about us?" She said taking her now blue Siren pendant from inside her shirt. Making Sunset's eyes go wide with fear.

"How'd did you?!" She said in a hushed whisper.

"Relax Ms. I'm a fire bird, while we found to get them mended and our voices back." Aria made this clear by letting out a harmonious high note, as did Sonata. "We have yet to see any extent of our powers returning...yet."

"And even then, I think given how we got them back, Is keeping us from using them in any sort of malevoleint way that could hurt somebody." Sonata said to the surprise of the other two, since exposition on their natures as sirens was usually Adagio's job. "What? I'm not always a one dimensional dumb ditz joke you know? I'm like Betty Cooper without as much sacchirne but still a little sweet on the outside." She said smiling and giggling at her joke.

"Anyway...." Sunset continued. "I just thought...maybe you girls and my friends...and a lot of the students too, could maybe begin again this weekend...tonight in fact." She said with a hopeful, 'please say yes,' look on her face.

"Go on," Adagio said as she gave an equal, 'I'm listening but don't even bother cause you can piss off when you're done,' look.

"The girls and I are holding a party tonight, Sugar Cube Corner while the Cakes are visiting relatives in Buffalo. very casual though...yes it is kinda to celebrate the whole...look just you guys in for it?" She said with the haste of tearing a bandage off to make the pain pass as quickly as possible. Adagio only scoffed softly before giving her answer.

"We'll think on it.'' Again with as much care for her proposition as one could muster if they'd be pathetically asked for money in the middle of a banking district at lunch time.

"Okay...but just remember, tonight after eight, Sugar Cube Corner, see ya!" And she took off down the block to the bus stop.

"So are we going?" Sonata asked as they continued on their way.

"Hell NO! You think I want to be anywhere near those Grade A cunts after what they did to us?" Adagio angrily replied.

"Do you have to be so crass and swear? I thought we were trying to make things right and better around here." Sonata asked confusingly.

"Oh grow up will you Sonata? What makes you think things will be different for us just because we show up at their dumb party?" Aria said backing her friend up.

"And who are you to tell me not to swear? You think our lives are some fucking kids show for fucks sake?" Adagio said deliberatly using more F bombs to spite her.

"No...It's just...I don't think the situation called for you to cuss like that is all, but I'm not a damn prude if that's what you're saying."

"ENOUGH!...All OF YOU!" Adagio shouted noticed the looks bystanders where giving them as their swears got more audiable. "Fine...we'll got to Sunest's little party...but I won't like it."

"Least there'll be free booze to bum off people, might make this angst drown in the punch that actually spiked remember Sonata."

"What do you know about good fruit punch?...Also how was I supposed to know you wanted it spiked?" Sonata said in her own defense.

"You two have never been to a party hosted by Pinkie Pie have you? I swear that Moron thinks we're all still five years old."

"Not that our ages are as definable as Archie character one's anyway." Sonata replied with a chuckle.

"Shut up Sonata." They both snarked at her in response.
