One Chance for Thunderlane
The Date
Previous Chapter''It's not fair!"
Rumble was sitting in the large living room of Blossomforth's house, playing with some old toys that Thunderlane gave him. But still bored out of his mind.
"What's not fair?" Blossomforth stepped into the room.
"Thunderlane get's to go to the gala!"
Blossomforth looked puzzled for a moment.
"What do you mean?"
"He found a ticket to the Grand Galloping Gala yesterday! Didn't he tell you?"
Blossomforth had a huge grin on her face.
"Um, Rumble? Can you watch yourself until I come back?"
"Sure, I can completely obliterate your house..."
"What?"
"Hmm?"
But she left anyways, to try to find some Pegasus pony. Guess who?
Thunderlane sat himself down with Cloudchaser in the floating cloud, to make the date go on, he had to act like a gentlecolt to win her heart, and also with the Gala ticket. He just had to wait for the right time. But now to start a conversation until the waiter comes. He set down his saddle bag.
"So, how was your day so far?"
"Fine, just a normal day with Cloudkicker."
Thunderlane gulped. Your date plus your ex equals trouble, hopefully she won't take it the wrong way. She's not that kind of pony. At least that what he thought.
"What's happening with you?"
"Not much, I found something yesterday."
Cloudkicker attention turned and her mind went towards yesterday, the way she was acting toward the ticket of the the gala. Her face turned red, she actually yelled out her feeling toward him in front of a crowed, and she didn't even realize it. The waiter finally came to the table. It was the stallion from today that Thunderlane had talked to, he looked from him to Cloudchaser and instantly had a smile.
"May I take your order?"
Cloudchaser spoke first.
"I'll have a sun flower seed sandwich with a cloud milkshake please."
"Um... same..."
He wrote down the orders they wanted and left. But still she felt embarrassed of how she acted, But the Gala was the most enthusiastic and most greatest time of the year! Only one night once a year, and it wasn't like she was the only one who wanted to go. But disappointment came when she knew that he ate the ticket, she didn't know why, but she thought if she went on the date with Thunderlane it would be all better, like it was all a misunderstanding. A sick feeling came to her stomach.
A feeling of both betrayal and lies, but she didn't want Thunderlane to know. She wanted him to be happy just on this one date. But she bothered to ask one question...
"Hey Thunderlane, what would you do if you were at the Gala?"
He looked at her for a moment, trying to think of some words to say.
"Um, I would...uh...OH GOOD! The foods here!"
The waiter came back with a large plate plate of their orders. He placed them on the table and left. Thunderlane was lucky enough, it wasn't time to give her the ticket.
Blossomforth was flying frantic, trying to find Thunderlane were ever he may be. Then out of nowhere came a flash of blue and she blacked out, she opened her eyes to know she crashed into Flitter.
"WHOA! What's the rush?"
"You don't know? Wow you really need to get out more..."
"What is it?!"
"Thunderlane has a ticket to the Grand Galloping Gala!"
"What, really?! Wait, Isn't he going out with my sister?"
"YES! And that's why I need to find him! Wanna come?"
"I don't know... don't think it's fair to steal something from some pony's hooves."
"Oh come on! Didn't you say you always wanted to meet princess Luna?"
"Fine! I'm in..."
"Great! Now I can finally meet the Wonderbolts!"
"But I thought you said the ticket was for me!"
"What?"
"*sigh* Typical Blossomforth..."
***
"Okay, date's going good so far."
Thunderlane was sitting by himself right now. Cloudkicker was just in the bathroom.(Don't worry, he won't get dumped...).
They've just about finished their food, and was time to go. But once she comes back, he's gonna give her the ticket. He can see her walking from the back of the Restaurant. She sat herself down, and asked the same question from earlier today.
"So, what would you do at the Gala?"
"I was about to ask you the same thing."
He reached into his saddle bag, and took out the golden ticket, Then put it on the table in front of him for Cloudchaser to see. She stared at the object for a while and said.
"But I thought... I thought you-"
"I didn't really do it. I was saving it for you."
"Thank you but... I don't want it anymore."
She said what now?
"To be honest... I always liked you... but I could never tell you."
"Really?"
"At first, I thought I only went out with you for the ticket. I guess I was just being selfish. But now, I found out that... I really do like you..."
Thunderlane thought for a second, he flash backed to when he and Cloudchaser were just filly's, playing in the clouds. They were practically siblings. They hung around each other almost everyday. He fell in love with her naturally. For years he has been trying to impress her, but she never noticed him. She took the ticket with her mouth.
"That's why I'm doing this."
She tore the ticket in half. It was ironic, the ticket seemed like the key to happiness when it only bought trouble.
"You really like me?" he said.
"Not like, its more of a love...thing... and... is it okay if we go on another date soon?"
"Um... sure."
*Best, date, ever!* he thought. Thunderlane lay a few bits on the table and left with Cloudchaser out the door. But met up with both Blossomforth and Flitter, both panting from exhaustion. Blossomforth spoke up.
"Do you still have the ticket!"
"Are you still watching Rumble?"
