Prologue day before invasion
Her eyes open she’s in the hive in a chamber by herself her sleep cycle ended it’s 8:00am she flies out to do her daily chore which is fill in for sick changlings she likes everything she excels at nothing today is digging a new chamber.
She shoves her hoofs in the wall of rocks and starts to dig she notices the lack of other diggers then she realizes her heads been buzzing the queen summoned them and she’s late. Her eyes widen in panic and she flies fast to the meeting chamber unaware he digging spot struck water and is leaking.
She arrives the queen says “Finally she’s here what took you so long?” she just sits down and bows lower then all the other changlings pleading on the inside “Your so wise not to talk” then Chrysalis speaks to everyling “now the reason I called all of you here is to prepare for the invasion”
All the changlings gasp except Chrysalis and the late changling the late changling says “Guys it’s not the hive”
Everyling sighs with relief the queen smiles “And how are you so sure Metamorphous?”
She smiles “We’re not fleeing and I know from most guards nopony or creature has been within 100 meters of the hive and lived” she’s still bowing.
Chrysalis smiles and flies nearer “Well looks like your still worth keeping around even when you blunder” Metamorphous emits a surge of fear Chrysalis’s patience are running thin, Chrysalis says “Ahh the fear and respect I love it if only more had it” she glares at some changlings who are rudely whispering.
They are whispering about what punishment they think she’s gonna get “It’s feeding the nymphs”
“No way its fighting off those diamond dogs or rouge changlings in the hive”
“No it’s .... She’s looking act natural”
Chrysalis shakes her head then looks back “I’ll talk to you later Metamorphous” she flies back to the center “We’re taking over Canterlot tomorrow I’ll leave very early at 4:30am to replace Cadence I can’t be bothered saying her full name its something like sucknoria lenza Cadence blah now continue with your jobs”
Everyling nods Metamorphous says quietly “I hope we succeed or I won’t be able to live with myself”
Changlings at the back row are screaming Chrysalis sees the commotion and yells “What is it you fools!”
A nervous changling says “It’s water coming from the new chamber it’s flooding the hive”
Chrysalis snarls “Fix it or block off the new chamber” 5 changlings including Metamorphous fly in and block the water Chrysalis walks in as their moving the water with magic “WHAT HAPPENED!” she said with a dangerous tone.
The changling in charge said “Someling dug in the no digging zone it must be one off the filling changlings that I haven’t warned yet”
All eyes turn to Metamorphous she nervously chuckles “Um ... I didn’t know” Chrysalis glares “I’m sorry my queen I’ll do anything to make up for it” shes got her muzzle into the ground near Chrysalis’s feet she would kiss them but fears angering her more.
Chrysalis growls then stops “Your punishment is fixing this leftover mess without help until your done instead of an 8 hour cycle”
Her head moves up ”Thanks your gracious” her minds screaming no not the 8 hour cycles I need my sleep :( invasion she goes to work bailing the water and making sure the rocks were solid and not gonna slip and flood the chamber again.
Another changling comes in after 1 cycle so the time is 4:00pm  “Hey Metamorphous can I help”
she looks at him then at the amount of work left she says “No Cocoon I can do this myself” she goes straight to bailing more water.
He smiles “And miss the invasion?” she drops the water suddenly as it was above his head due to her shock “I should have said that at a better time”
She looks at him and says “I don’t want to miss the invasion but the queen said fix it on my own also you have a job to be doing”
He shakes his head “Nah I finished my job I have a free cycle I’m gonna help so you can go help invade” she smiles happily they both go to bailing the water.
After half a cycle it’s done the time is 8:00pm she says “Thanks Cocoon now I can get some rest see you tomorrow”
He smiles “Yeah I guess but I’m not gonna invade” she frowns “I’m no warrior I’m more of a fungus farmer” she smiles and flies to her chamber he flies to his thinking that went well.
She arrives at her chamber to find it unusually crowded the crowd sees her and runs leaving slime and broken rocks she yells at the fleeing changlings “HEY GET BACK ... Here!” the last word is quieter because they’re out of range she looks at the mess and frowns.
She spits on the green goo to disintegrate it and she makes green goo out of the holes in her legs to contain all the rocks into a ball. she puts the ball at the back of her chamber, she mumbles “Immature workmates” as she lies down the time is 10:00pm that prank had wasted 2 hours of her sleep.
She closes her eyes and starts to drift off to sleep, she has a nightmare the invasion fails and Chrysalis blames her for being weak and banishes her, after that she also gets killed by a changling and timberwolf.
Her eyes snap awake she looks around and sighs in relief just a nightmare she guesses the time is 11:50pm very close to the end of this cycle she falls back asleep thinking the invasion will not fail I’ll do anything I can to seal victory.
As shes falling asleep she feels a mysterious tingle she quickly thinks it must be excitement for the Canterlot invasion. In her mind she’s thinking tomorrow will be perfect the day I dreamed since I was small, the day I impress the queen and show I’m very tall, tomorrow will be perfect the day I’m in charge, we will attack Canterlot which is bigger then a barge, tommorow will be zzz.
