Fallout Equestria: Night Born Orphans
Chapter 1 part 1: The Orphaned Prodigy
Load Full StoryChapter 1 part 1: orphaned genius
“Barren. One word to describe the world. One of many, the others including words like dangerous, bloody, dark, smelly, lonely...so lonely.” A young unicorn filly said to herself. After a quick sniffle the young filly pushed her glasses back up to her red colored eyes and started walking through the wasteland once again the legs of her blue stable uniform getting dirtier and dirtier.
“Come on Deva you know better then to think about those things, It’ll just bring back bad memories and you have to stay focused, It’s too dangerous to be distracted out here.” Looking up from the dead grass beneath her a quiet buzzing caught her ear.
Looking to her left she found herself face to face with a bloated green sprite that stared into her eyes as she stared back. With a disfigured moan the creature opened its mouth drooling as it slowly moved forward toward Deva. Deva let out a bloodcurdling scream at a high enough pitch to stun the sprite as she dashed behind the nearest boulder. Still shaking Deva peeked out from behind the rock to see the dazed sprite float away.
“Stupid Bloat Sprites, always sneaking up on ponies.” Readjusting her glasses Deva let out a sad sigh.
“What was I thinking, I’m not cut out for the wasteland, I should just go home.” Memories of her home of stable 66 quickly flooded back to her mind. Memories of the death that was brought to her home by the very ponies who she searched for now.
“No, I can’t go back. There’s nothing there for me.” She stopped scrunching her brow in thought. “I’ll make them pay for what they did.”
Deva treked across the barren ground following the raiders trail. They were relatively easy to follow seeing as how the path was littered with trampled soil, destroyed robots, bullet casings, cigarette butts, blood spots, and the occasional dead wanderer. Plus they always set up a big fire when they stopped during the night. Although today Deva hadn’t seen much of a trail like she normally did and she was starting to worry that she had lost them. Deva continued to walk until the faint sound of drum and tuba music hit her ear. As she got closer to the sound suddenly the sound of gunshots filled the air followed soon by a small explosion. Then she heard them.
“Stupid fucking Sprite bots, they're so annoying playing that music all the fucking time.” She heard one voice yell from around a corner. Running up to the rock wall that separated her from the voice, Deva peeked around the corner. Two raiders were further up a hill on an old road at the mouth of a cave.
The first stood over the smoldering remains of a robot which he was poking with the barrel of his rifle when the other walked up behind him at and smacked him upside the head.
“Ouch what was the for?” The second raider, this one bigger wielding a large pistol, hit the first raider again.
“You’re making noise and wasting ammo you idiot, the boss said to keep watch and not draw attention to the stable entrance.”
“Well what am I supposed to do?, there's nothing to do besides stare at the stable door.”
“There's another stable?” Deva thought to herself, smiling. ”I could get in there and lock myself in, lure them in within minutes of a self destructing generator.” Deva tried to her suppress giggles. ”i can retire early on all the bounties, let alone selling any salvage.” Deva looked at the raiders her joy disappearing replaced with rage. “I'll send those bastards we're they belong, in tart-”
Deva’s thoughts were silenced as she heard loud and heavy clunks in rhythm of hoof beats and lots of them. She poked her head out and paled at the sight of at least ten raiders in crudely welded together mockeries of steel ranger armor with rebar spiked shoulders and chest pieces.
“Boss!” The druggy of the two guards shouted to the closest power raider one with a crude spiral horn sheath made from rebar on the helmet and a crudely painted green dragon across its chest and shoulders.
“You mook!” He smacked his subordinate hard enough to knock what little teeth he had left.
“I could hear you shooting like a dumbass a mile away!” He levitated his helmet revealing his lime coated head with a black mane half of it shaved off the other half straight cut locks going down to his neck.
“The higher ups don't like wasted supplies!” His left hoof sparked with electricity before smashing his tesla hoof onto the druggies head turning into red paste. Deva immediately head behind the tree trying to keep quiet as possible.
”What kind of raiders are these, higher ups and power armor frames!?” Deva’s face paled so much her the white freckles on her cheeks disappeared.
”Gotta find the vault!”. She tried to sneak away but her hoof got caught on one of the tree's roots.
“Eep!” Deva squeaked out rolling down the hill and road her little body not being able to stop itself only curling into a ball shape out fear until rolling into a cave at the end of the hill.
“Ow” Deva moaned her uncurling herself her stable uniform and navy coat now mostly brown pushing her red classes now with the left lense cracked. ”Oh luna dammit.”
She shook her short flat cut bangs and haphazardly tied locks free of dirt cursing her clumsiness. But a smile returned when she saw the gear shaped door.
”All according to plan.” Deva’s chest swilled with pride finding the stable door before the raider’s fully gathered. ”I'll show those raiders, with my intellect taking over stable 111.1 should be a breeze.”
Diva’s celebration stopped as she did a double take at the stable number. In silver paint it said 111.1 at least she assured the last number was a one it was curved a bit with a triangular shaped tips almost like a crescent moon. And the stable door looked a lot smaller than her old stables. And the base was more set up like a drop off for shipping carriages then to receive a rush of ponies.
“Well this is new.” Deva Approached the door controls before hooking her pipbuck into it But nothing happened besides Access denied being plastered over her screen. Diva shook her head and giggled.
”i didn't earn this mark for nothing.” Deva looked back to her mark of a skeleton key made red digital code smiling. Her horn ignited red lifted the panel up the decayed screws coming off easily and exposing the the wiring beneath.
“Alright boys get your asses over here, and blow this stubborn door off already!”
“Eep!” Squeaking in fear her horn glowed again plugging additional wires from her pipbuck into the door controls and loaded several bits of code from her pipbuck. After a few seconds the door slowly pulled inward leaving only a crack of an entrance. Deva sweating ran and squeezed through small opening before it closed itself.
With the light from the cave gone Deva realized how dark the stable was. She clicked on her pipbuck lamp and used it to light her way to nearby terminal. Deva hooked herself up to it the terminal and after a few moments of hacking she had access to its systems.
“Alright let’s see here, maintenance logs, worker memos. Ah ha, lights.” Diva quickly activated the lights throughout the stable. However Deva noticed a slight difference between the lighting of her own stable and this one. While the lights in her stable were bright and decently resembled sunlight, these ones were a bit dimmer with a more blue color. Almost like moonlight.
“Okay, weird. Let’s see anything here I can use?” Deva asked herself as she looked back to the terminal. “Oh a map, that should help.” Diva went to access the stable map but instead a notice appeared on the screen reading File Corrupted
“Great. Well I guess I should get moving. Won’t be long before those savages come down here, and I need to be ready.”
Deva walked up to the door leading out of the entry way and began walking down the hallway. As she walked down the hall she looked at the numerous posters hanging from the wall that depicted either war-time propaganda or Princess Luna. However despite the imagery of the princess of the night Diva saw nothing with Princess Celestia on. Diva just continued to walk in the low light feeling creeped by the eyes of the night princess and the words scribed on the walls.
“Viva noctis”
“Hail to the true Queen”
“Celestia abandoned us to die, but Luna stayed with us through tartarus!”
“Just what is this?” Diva walked a bit faster avoiding the images of Luna on the wall. She saw an elevator and ran towards it.
”Better than nothing, can take somewhere without these Luna wallpaper at least.” She pressed the button and the door opened.
“Dear Celestia.” Deva’s eyes widened at the sight of four skeletons packed into the elevators fully decomposed to the bone covered in black and silver stable uniforms. Deva stopped her investigative mind over the uniform color and instead choked back a gulp as she levitated off one of their pipbuck and plugged a few wires into it.
“Sorry.” She apologized the skeletons foreleg coming with the pipbuck off the former ponies. As she downloaded a map grumbling it was partially corrupted. She stepped in avoiding to step on the remains while gazing over the faded to pink barely visible blood stains.
“Woah” She looked at the floor selection and saw five. ”Okay that's weird, probably just storage though.”
Ignoring the faint sounds of explosions she bit her lip and looked at the map curiosity spreading through her mind like a cancer. She sighed and looked for Overmare office on her map. Seeing it was on the second floor in what had to be one of the largest vaults she's ever seen and hit the elevator button for it.
The elevator rose for a few moments before stopping. The elevator doors opened and Deva stepped out onto walkway that overlooked the a large common room below. The filly walked forward looking into the various open rooms and through a few windows along her way. Most of the rooms were living quarters, some having more skeletons inside. Deva also recognized one of the rooms as a science lab as she passed by. After a bit more walking Deva came to a door at the end of the walkway. The door was larger than the others but opened as Deva approached. Inside was a spacious office and in the middle sat a desk with a terminal and a triangular stand the read Overstallion.
“Wait what?” Deva stared at the tag for a few moments confused. “But aren’t stables supposed to be run by an Overmare? This place is seriously weird.” Deva walked around to the back side of the desk where she saw a safe built into the side of the desk and that the terminal was still intact. However another skeleton saw propped up against the terminal. Wincing she used her magic to nudge him away.
“Sorry.” the skeleton fell over knocking a loose a holotape from its uniform along with several other poking from his uniform. Deva picked it up and looked at closely.
”Damn you curiosity.” she plugged it into her custom slightly larger pipbuck before turning her attention to the monitor.
Over Stallion Pipsqueak day 1 log 1 Deva listened intently to the rough trottingham voice and giggled about his name before returning to the monitor to decrypt its security.
I was told it be best to keep log so I'll do it worked for Din- The stallion stopped short the faint sound of sniffing was heard before he continued. our plan was successful, ninety five percent of the selected soldiers teleported in
As soon as he said that Deva found a control for a teleport room but she frowned when it said inoperable.
No one was harmed then a few spilled lunches and fried manes, unfortunately not every soldier made it my nerds theorized the megaspell radiation interfered with the teleport beacons we snuck into the soldier's person and for the other losses it was obvious with the empty and broken power armor, but most unfortunately of all.... Deva stopped her typing hearing the grown stallion choke on his words. ...The beacon we snuck onto Princess Luna malfunctioned we don't know why all we know is she didn't teleport over and....is most likely dead
Deva just continued to decrypt a full map despite the faint recorded choked back crying.
But i won't let her down, she'd want me to fight on not the like her damn coward of a sister, that's why i didn't let the angry roars of a soldier named Crescent w. Blade rank lieutenant The Stallion sighed before releasing a reluctant laugh. Sorry log protocol and all, anyway this stallion is 10 years my senior and a medal of honor receiver, too bad he's a crazier than a Timber Wolf with rabies if it were up to me i would granted the wish he was screaming at me, to die on frontlines Deva gasped at the map she saw the stable was at least the size of a hoofball stadium with eight floors and weirdly a hollow center. But the higher ups deemed him genetically important just because he's damn vesper
“Wait, what’s a vesper?” Deva’s shocked turned to curiosity at the over stallion's words. Deva stopped the holotape and collected the others deciding to play it later on her pipbuck with her investigation. She also made a checklist on her pipbuck.
Areas to scavenge/To-do list
Surgery room for medical supplies
Power armor station for fusion cores
Armory for weapons and ammo
Generators set to self-destruct
“Always good to be organized.” Deva went to duck her note in but saw how dirty it was and grimaced at it before sighing.
“Daddy would be so disappointed.” She looked to the map and saw a locker room next door to office.
five minutes later
Deva quickly walked out of the nearby locker room now wearing the same black and silver stable uniform as the skeletons along with new large saddlebags she luckily found and her face cleaner after a quick wipe with a wet towel.
“Wish i had time for shower, goddesses i miss showers.” Deva grumbled her mind flashed to Raiders blasting the stable door with Celestia knows what. She hoped her curiosity was worth more than a shower. She walked toward the office and with practiced ease she magically pressed the play button on her pipbuck that she took off and left at the computer to decrypt it.
Wish his commanding officer but now Captain Red Y. Wind the sniper elite was cursing both me and Crescent with that horrid sounding curb stone equish, she was also deemed important because of her hyper fertility or some other crud Deva heard him sigh again as she walked back into his former office. But as much as i think there psychos and wish they weren't my problem, i can see why there children i saw these scary battle hardened warrior's weep tears and pray for the friends and family when the bombs hit and when they heard about our Queens fate they insisted on paying respect and holding a funeral, i guess when you're already pretty bad the apocalypse can only bring out the good, i hope them and the others can follow through the plan for our Queen were all gonna need it even if it's without her we'll carry on her will for equestria and the pony race, we are the children and we will survive Viva noctus.
“Who were these weirdos?” Deva jumped back into terminal chair and slipping the still plugged in pipbuck on her leg.
A quiet click indicated that the her pipbuck had decrypted the terminal security. Deva fully downloaded the stable map to her pipbuck before looking at the other functions on the terminal. The terminal had access to a lot of functions of the status of the stable residence to maintenance reports and control over the security systems.
“Bingo.” Deva said as she accessed the security systems and started to bring them online. Unfortunately they had been shut down for so long they needed time to fully come online. As she waited she started looking through the list of residence. As she looked through the list one name caught her eye. LT Crescent W. Blade. The stallion that Pipsqueak spoke of in his holo-tape.
“Damn it, one day this curiosity is going to get me killed.” Deva said to herself as she opened up the information on Crescent.
Name: Crescent Wilson Blade
Age: 47
Race: Vesper unicorn
Fertility: High
“I guess that all that mattered to them.” Diva scratched her head before hopping away and heading to the elevator. She scrolled down and saw another familiar name.
Name: Red Yoko Wind
Age: 44
Race: unicorn
Fertility: Very high
S.T note: able to breed vespers match accordingly
O.S note: fucking horrible ear grating excuse for trottingham accent!
She plugged in the second holotape hoping her questions to be answered.
Over Stallion Pipsqueak log two, i don't like this but it's for the best i just gotta remember that, They want us to pair up the stallions and mares without spouses to keep population up especially for that crazy horned thestral, they even want me to pop a kid out eventually, I'll do it but I'm not gonna follow their psychoanalysis shit I'm just gonna pick one of the mares and put a baby in her, I'm not gonna force love like they are, the soldiers i talked about last time have been paired up have had already twelve noise complaints, it's been a luna damn day! Deva fidgeted at his shout before continuing on to the medical room right across from the locker room with a door having a red cross with crescent moon in it on the door.
Even if they are children they're still stable tech, the sick bastards seriously they want these two psychotic warrior's to have a foal and sharing a small space no way in tartarus they'll have a kid let alone would i let that kid be the champion
“The champion? The champion of what?” Deva asked herself as she managed to get the door to the medical bay open.
Well unfortunately that’s not up to me. But when someone files a noise complaint and we go down to find that they killed each other, someone is getting my hoof across their face, but I suppose in the end it doesn’t really matter, we’ll just have to wait and see how things play out, I just pray to Luna that whatever is planned for those two actually works out, this is Over Stallion Pipsqueak, we are the children and we will survive, Viva noctus.
The tape clicked indicating its end. Deva popped it out as she walked into the medical bay and started gathering some supplies. She found some bandages, painkillers, antibiotics, stimpaks everything she would need to make sure she
wouldn't bleed to death or die from an infection. She looked around and saw an x-ray on the table. She saw it was a unicorn foal skeleton with strange three small rods growing from its spine and it wasn't the only one under it was many more scans of foals with growths on their spine.
“What the hell.” Deva gagged at it and tossed the scan away. Deciding she had all she needed from here and that she didn't look at those anymore. She decided to move on to her next stop, the power armor station and the armory. Deva pulled up her map to get her bearings before deciding to listen to Pipsqueaks next holotape.
I don’t believe it, surprisingly enough Lieutenant Blade and Captain Wind haven't killed each other, considering how much they disliked each other before they were shoved into a room together I can say I didn’t see this coming, In fact from what I’ve seen and heard they are actually warming up to each other, In fact they spend a lot of time together and I heard that some have seen Captain Wind kiss Blade on the cheek, To be completely honest seeing them act so calm and kind to each other makes them all the scarier to me, Who knows, maybe that kid we’ve been looking for will actually come into conception, to be honest though i hope the kid's mine speaking of which i made a deal with a stable tech mare, she understood....my issues she was a friend of one of Dinkys students...she knew it was just quota filling, just wish it didn't feel like pity quota filling, says she'd be okay if i name it, it's gonna suck when i have to explain the plan to them i know the staple techies are excited especially Liberty the mare whose pitying me Deva started to feel uncomfortable about this stable.
”Maybe i should have washed this uniform first.” Deva tried her best to stop her thoughts as she quickly trotted into the and pressed the third floor button.
But that's for the future when the next generation is underway, on much less awkward and weird news
“Oh thank Celestia.”
Construction has begun, Liberty is leading those robots who stole my accent, as the plan said the frame itself would take at least a century to complete its why the cryo pod is there- Deva paused the tape and with wide eyes she looked at her map.
“Wow there is one!” Deva saw it was on the 4th floor labeled Nyx training and recreational.
”That means there might be somepony alive.” Deva banged her head against the wall frustrated. ”Its on the other side of this elevator shaft, it will take so long, everything important is on floor three if i waste time the raiders might leave the blast zone!”
Deva pulled her face from the wall she needed answers to make decision for all she knew the cryo was empty. She pressed play wishing the door would open already.
-But the cockpit a year the, armor five years at most they've already completed the little training simulator things i admit they're cute anyway Liberty- Deva groaned and took out the holotape deciding to skip ahead she plugged one in labeled 5 as the door opened.
“Holy shit!” the partially melted remains of a black and purple steel ranger armor was right at the foot of the door. It made Deva jump back in fear before she blushed embarrassed.
“Fuck this weird stable.” Deva grumbled getting pass the melted slag of armor She stepped into large circular room with a pillar in the center it had large open space with tall ceilings littered with low lighting. She looked around no one had to be a detective to guess what happened with the scattered skeletons and tattered power armor remains. A view were still intact and still hooked up to stages. the power armor looked weird to say the least all of them were missing the trademark fin with a more roundish helmet. Some of them had sharp horn sheath spikes with the armor painted pure black with purple or blue accents along with strangely enough a single visor across the helmet with an extended rectangular gas filter. But all of them had mismatching shoulders the left being a rectangular shield and the right being a round shoulder armor pad with three small spikes.
“Even the power armor is freaking weird.” She started to levitate spark cores from the power armor one by one she levitated them each to her new saddle bags. Deva trotted at brisk pace collecting and pressing play for the holotape.
Over Stallion Pipsqueak log five, for the sake of cataloging I'm transferring the recording of today's meeting to my logs. a small dial tone sounded before Pipsqueaks voice cut back in. Hello everypony I'm glad you all came we have some news-
Get on with it, i ain't got all day i need to nap for two boy! a rough cockney accented voice shouted it made Deva jump and raise a brow at the weird pronunciation. ”Is that even equish?”
Please Red Wind this will involve the future of your and every ponies foals future. Silence came from the recording as Deva came across several surgery tables each with restraints and barrels worth of small tubes about as the same size of a foal's crayon.
Go on boy I'll listen The course mare said reluctantly.
I am going to reveal the real intentions of this stable.
Oh please, when did you start giving a shit about us pipsqueak?”
I don’t know if we're just saying my name or insulting me.”
Not my fault your name in an insult runt, what I want to know is what the hell you want with the foals anyway, what is so damned important that you shoves us together in small rooms with the sole intention of having foals fucked out of us?
Look I know you’re looking for answers but I can’t relinquish that information to you yet.
Suddenly the sounds of movement and what sounded like someone getting punched was heard causing Deva to jump again.
You expect me to take that you little shit! If I’m going to have a foal because of you fuckers I want to know what the fuck you want him for!
Someone restrain her now! Pip called out before Deva heard more struggling and yelling from Red Wind for a few seconds before she started to calm down.
I got her, just calm down Windy i wanna hear these plans a deeply and smooth voice with a bit gravel to it said the obvious voice of a veteran soldier.
Thank you lieutenant, now that she’s calm please both of you just listen I'm not even sure how onboard I am. a brief moment of hoofsteps followed along with the sound of door before Pip started talking again.
i know Red wind may be one of the more violent ones but I know for sure she isn’t the only one who wants answers, If i don't say something soon we'll only just riot on ourselves from mistrust, but despite that we have to keep moving forward, we’ve come too far to let it all fall apart now, we are here to ensure the future of equestria through one of your foals and the countless generations coming from us, all with the help of this Deva gasped along with the recorded ponies she had pulled back a curtain and saw wall covered in x-rays and photographs of a young foals some barely a year old their spines showing from their backs being opened between the shoulder blades a needle puncturing the small metal tubes into it and as the skin reformed around the tubes. Deva gagged and resisted the urge to vomit at the sight of the foal mutilation.
The Psycho-stem a new technology developed for us in secret by our fellow children in stable tech, these are special connection rods able to connect ourselves to any compatible machine in fact we've already upgraded the power armors to have the system, along with other upgrades glad too see the unicorns horns have grown back nicely. Deva heard a view murmured thanks about healing jelly or something she didn't catch it all as she dry heaved walking past the photographed gore.
Well when future generations wear your improved armor they won't have chizzle their horns like that short sighted stubborn Applejack wanted, because unicorn, earth pony, pegasus, thestral and vesper we are all children and that's all that matters not our race Pride filled his voice as Deva crawled away from the surgery area dry heaving.
So what's the system do? Crescent asked.
Very simple, it will allow the nerve system to send signals to the machine as it would naturally to your body like say the power armor it would-
Increase the suits and hydraulic reaction time immensely, same as the system me and Windy used The warrior voiced stallion said getting excited followed by an almost evil sounding giggle from Red wind that made Deva shiver.
Yes lieutenant Blade but the psycho-stem increases armor control and performance roughly twice more then your system thanks to the data from your squads system, but..without the lose of...extremities Pipsqueak sounded just as unconscious around these two as Deva her skin crawling again as Red wind giggled excitedly.-
Oi well then I'd say getting my back opened is worth those advantages Deva walked toward the elevator ignoring the shivers brought by the cockney mare's voice along with Pipsqueaks gulp.
But there's a problem with the Psycho-stem, none of us can use it Confused murmurs played over her pipbuck as Deva got in the elevator she just wanted to get out of the mad stable setting the generators to blow before the raider’s got bored. The psycho-stem must be applied to a immature body so the rods can assimilate to the spine and grow with it.
What are you saying? a random mare asked.
We must install the psycho-stem into a still growing, specifically the first generation with....the newer...riskier prototypes the recording erupted into shouts of anger until.
Enough! A mare's voice Liberty Deva had to guess from Pipsqueak barely audible mumblings. We already have an earlier version ready for use with a lower fail rate.
Then why take the risks! The mare from earlier shouted only to be scoffed at by liberty.
For several reasons the single stem system is only good for power armor and we need to save those for later generations, and your foals will need the newer triple stem for this everypony gasped in shock from something unseen by Deva.
What is that?
We've named it the Gigantic, Unrestricted, Neural-link, Drive, Avenging, Mega spell module, but this one specifically is given the codename Nyx Liberty said boastfully.
Why such long name for a machine model Pipsqueak said with a groan.
Ssshh it was an agreed name, but the machine is too complex for a single stem, i know it's a big risk and i won't lie some of your foals might end up dead on that table but i ask you for the Queen and future of the children we need this necessary risk. The recording remained silent until booming laughing of a mare was heard. echoed making Deva jump.
Your a damn fool liberty! Red wind said laughing giddily. What in the tartarus makes you lot think anything coming from loins would be weak enough to die on that table! The tape clicked and stopped playing.
“What kind of pony let's someone do that to their foal.” Deva gagged again until she decided to skip a view more tapes.
Overstallion Pipsqueak log eight, it's been awhile i was never good at keeping logs especially with all the work that's been going on but there is somepony willing to do it happily
Hi future Overmare and champion Lil Patriot log one! a high pitched filly voice said excitedly.
You sure you got this honey?
It's okay daddy, I'll handle all the cataloging, up until i go into cryo that is
“Cryo? Why would they put the children into cryo?” Deva asked as she stepped out of the elevator and started walking toward the armory.
I know kiddo, your mother and I are very proud of you, but are sure you’re up for this, running a stable is a lot of work.
I’m sure daddy, I mean you and mommy are like the smartest ponies ever I can handle this no problem at all.
Well then go ahead, take a crack at it. Deva could heard the subtle rustle of sheets of paper before Patriot spoke.
Ok so for starters, the scientists have made many improvements to the psycho-stem since it was first announced, while some still fight the idea of implementing the stem into new borns many have embraced it’s uses, many compatible children including myself, have already begun training in the simulators, despite the rapid success of the newer models of the psycho-stems we have decided it would be best to wait to integrate them in mass quantities seeing as how we don’t know how long it will be before each stable finishes their own machines, there is no point in using stems on foals that are going to die before the machines are finished for that reason we are training pilots with the new stems in smaller groups, If a possibly viable pilot is found they are put into cryo until they are needed.
I'd barely understood that, but good job The filly giggled at him.
Good thing i got mommies smarts.
“So wait, does that mean there's someone alive down there on ice?.” Deva stopped the tape and jump forward a couple more.
Overstallion Pipsqueak log eleven. Today were the final sim sparring match between the top pilots, most finished quickly but there was an incident, Lil Patriot was in a match against Muramasa when her sim malfunctioned and exploded.
Deva stopped walking and put her hoof over her mouth to listen for a moment.
Luckily she wasn’t severely hurt, however the explosion sent some shrapnel into her left eye, because of the loss of her eye she won’t is not aible to be the champion pilot like she had hoped, she was devastated and angry at the what happened, she was convinced the Muramasa sabotaged the sim but I know that isn’t true, Muramasa may be violent and strived to prove he’s the best, just look at his parents it’s no surprise, but I know the colt and he’s not malicious, besides Liberty examined the sim herself and it wasn’t tampered with, the spell core overheated from extended use without time to cool down and it exploded, I kept telling Patriot that she shouldn’t spend so much time in the sim, I told her that it’s not only bad for the sim but being hooked up for so long could have unforeseen effects on her body and mind, she’ll still take over as Overmare but that also means Muramasa is the best pilot we have, she’s going to be real pissed when I tell her about that, she’s hated Muramasa since she met him. The sound of a door opening and hoof stomps made Pipsqueak gulp.
I can still pilot the machine Lil Patriot sounded a bit older and unstable. All i have to do is..is fix my..my..myself
Patriot what are you saying?
Simple I'll build myself a new eye and i get my depth perception back! Her giddy laugh made Deva’s skin crawl.
Patriot you know technology like that takes forever to complete, and you could just make your condition worse and Muramasa is being put in the pod as we spea-
THEN WHEN I FINISH MY EYE I'LL RIP HIM OUT MYSELF
Patriot what’s gotten into you, I know you’re upset but you’re not thinking this through, Muramasa didn’t do anything your mother examined the sim herself, the battery overheated from overuse.
You’re taking his side! You're my own father how could you do that!
I'm not taking his side, Patriot you’ve convinced yourself of something that isn’t true, what happened to my sweet little girl?
We're the one's in charge, you were Queen Luna’s first friend after her return, my mother designed the damn Nyx, IT'S MY BIRTHRIGHT TO PILOT IT! Struggling was heard as Pipsqueak sighed.
Restrain and sedate her, I'll talk to her once she's calm
No it's my birthright dammit, it's my fucking birthright, I'll fucking kill Muramasa for this! Deva shut off the holotape she just wanted to check the cryo lab and get out. The door opened and she stepped out onto the floor and looked up to the even taller ceiling with the walls lined with dimly glowing rooms. Deva just started to run not caring for the scenery even as it became littered with more skeletons some broken in two or three pieces.
“*Gasp*~I'm out~*gasp*~shape!~” Deva gasped for air already out of endurance.
“Excuse me mum, you need assistance?” Deva jumped at sound of the slightly damaged Mister handy talking two of its three legs lose and sparking as it moved in front of her. “Which generation are you again mam, my memory isn't the best since Miss Patriots attack.”
Deva was too out of breath to give a damn about the mystery. She just smiled thankful the thing wasn't blasting at her.
“Never mind that.” Her horn glowed red as she levitated herself atop the the robots head. “Take me to the cryo pod!”
“Is it finally time mum?” The robot asked excitedly.
“Um...yeah, and we got hostiles trying to blast the door down!” Deva said, a plan coming to her mind.
“Zebra commies or Celestia's pets?!” Another Robot asked, flying from the wall.
“Um, Yeah!” Deva answered quickly, theorizing that they weren't blasting her because of the uniform she wore.
“Should’ve known, code red!” both robots eyes flashed red briefly before a siren resounded through the building.
“Begin the deactivation of cryo pod for the champion!”
