It was a cold autumn night and Lyra was walking through the park, it was the shortest route back to her house from her friend Bon Bon’s house. She often spent time in the park as it provided peace and quiet for her studies, a picnic with her friends or an environment where she could play her lyre. Right now the park was empty except a couple of drunks and a homeless person sleeping on a bench. She always thought the park was a bit scary at this time of the day because you never knew who could be waiting around the corner and sure enough there was a man wearing a hoodie was leaning on a street lamp, suddenly he pulled a knife out of his pocket and blocked her way and said to her, “Okay now, give me all your cash, your phone and your watch and nobody has to get hurt.”

Lyra jumped back at the sudden threat and started turned to run away but her attacker was quicker than her and stabbed her in the back, “AAAAAHH!” she screamed in pain as the knife pierced her back. She immediately fell to the road, twitching in pain. Her attacker got scared as this was not planed and ran away faster than the school’s gym teacher. Nobody sane or sober was nearby to hear her screams.

Various thoughts were running through her head as the inevitable end to her life was nearing, she thought of all the moments she spent with her family in her younger years and of all the times she laughed with her best friend, Bon Bon. She really liked her and after years of friendship developed a crush on her. She wanted to confess her feelings to her but never found the courage to do it in fear that she would be rejected and their friendship would be ruined forever. However she wasn’t the only student she liked.

Some time ago she developed a second crush on another of her fellow students, it was the moment she knew she had to make a choice between the two as she believed her crushes would not agree to a group relationship.

So there she was, just bleeding helplessly on the ground, her eyes slowly closing when someone approached her, it was a dark, cloaked figure. The mysterious figure kneeled and quickly examined her and spoke, “Hmm, yes you will do just fine my dear.”

Instead of doing anything to help Lyra, the figure just stood up and did absolutely nothing as if it was waiting for her to die. She just watched the figure and managed to determine that it was a he, but that wasn’t that important things to deal with at the moment, after all she was busy bleeding out at the moment. With the last drops of life in her body she just wandered what would happen to her after this.

Now she was dead or at least that’s what the situation looked like but the man had a different idea for her in mind. He kneeled again to Lyra, but this time he got closer to her neck and then quickly bit into it and Lyra’s body twitched a bit at that. Soon after that some blood started leaking from the bite. The man separated from the mint girl’s neck and turned to walk away, as he was doing that the two bite marks and the stab wound closed and it looked as if nothing happened to her body that night.

Lyra’s eyes shot open, now blood red and she jumped up and shook her head in confusion and slight pain. She didn’t remember almost anything and decided to go to the place she remembered was her home but as she took her first step her eyes returned to the usual golden colour and she fainted, falling again to the ground.

Some time later

A woman was walking through the park when she stumbled on Lyra’s unconscious body and immediately ran to her to check her pulse, she determined that the teenage girl was alive. The woman took out her phone and called the local hospital.

A man responded, “Hello this is Canterlot hospital how can I help you?”

The woman responded quickly and obviously stressed, scared and tired, “I am in the Canterlot Park, there is an unconscious girl here, she is barely breathing and needs help.

“Well alright could you tell us where she is located?” asked the man.

“Yes, we are near the north exit” she responded.

A couple of minutes later an ambulance siren and a police siren could be heard. Two men in hospital uniforms came to Lyra, picked her body up and carried her back to the ambulance and the woman who found her walked back with them. When she arrived a police officer was waiting for her, obviously intending to ask a few questions. He walked up to the woman and said, “Hello mam’ I need to ask you a couple of questions if you are up for it.”

“I-I am, thank you for asking, w-what do you want to know officer?”

“Excellent, if you want you can take a seat in the car.”

The woman sat on the driver’s seat and took a breath to gather her thoughts, the policeman asked her, “So tell me everything you know about tonight’s events.”

“Well I was going back home from a party a friend of mine hosted for her anniversary, I was walking through the park and was nearing the north exit when I stumbled upon an unconscious girl laying on the ground under a street lamp. I ran to check her pulse and she was alive but she was barely breathing, naturally I was scared for her and called the hospital and shortly after the ambulance van and you police car showed up and I was here,” explained the woman.

“Thank you mam’ for your cooperation, we will take you home if you want.” Offered the officer.

“Thank you very much officer that would be very helpful.” Replied the woman standing up and moving to the back of the car. The police officer got in the driver’s seat and started up the car, driving the woman home.
