Chapter 5: Gathering

Previous Chapter

Later, as the first hints of sun, and therefore the end of Night Day, Luna had finished going around to the other ponies houses, reading the notes, etc. She was a bit surprised when she heard that the fillies' mother, Diamond Tiara, who had also bullied three of her favorite subjects, wanted to go on the quest. She sighed, and returned to Ponyville.

When Luna arrived, the first ones to spot her, towards the very last hour or two of night, were the fillies, Goldheart and Silver Balloon. Luna descended, and told all the ponies to come to Midnight Blue's house. She said you couldn't miss it, because it was the only house in Ponyville that wasn't pink and yellow. When all of the ponies got there, she spoke:

"All of you. You are destined to save Equestria from my sister, the evil Supernova Star. It will not be easy, but I know you seven can do it. Midnight, you may be reclusive, but your knowledge will serve the group well," Luna said.

"Thank you, Princess."

"Goldheart, Silver Balloon. You may just be fillies, and fillies who don't have their cutie marks at that, but your good cheer may motivate the group in times of sadness. You two are loyal, and full of laughter, so I know you won't let the group down. Also, due to your size, you will be able to squeeze into small spaces that others cannot," Luna told the fillies.

"Thanks!" Goldheart said.

"Yeah! I can't wait for this to happen!" Silver Balloon added.

"Misted Breeze, though you may be blind and blunt, your strength and connection to the earth will serve us well. You are a bubbling cauldron of earth pony magic, and I know you can help the group when we need force," Luna continued.

"Yes, that is true. Thank you."

"Morning Streak. You are continually nice, always willing to help out. Out of all the ponies you may be the most kind one I have met in a long time, ever since my sister before she went corrupt, when she was Celestia. However, your kindness and generosity may be a fault, and you must keep true to the task at hand," Luna said.

"Thanks, Princess! I'll try my hardest to help the group in any way I can!"

"Doctor Healthy Star. Your medical knowledge will be extremely useful, and your caring attitude towards your patients, and everypony else, will be appreciated. Your magic skill and precision will also be useful, since I imagine surgery has hardened your accuracy, will, and guts. However, you may encounter worse things than you have ever found in your hospital, and I need you to be brave," Luna told her.

"I-I know, Princess. I'll do what I can."

"Finally, Diamond Tiara. You are a businessmare at heart and by trade. Your skills may not be useful, but your persuasive skill and ability as a mother may be able to help. You aren't one of the Elements, but you are still a welcome addition to our team. Are you sure you want to go through with this?" Luna inquired.

"Yes, your Highness. I want to do everything I can. I see the light that shines in my and my little fillies, and I know we can all be up to the task."

"Very well. Is everypony ready? If so, let's be off," Luna completed.

"Hold it right there, sister."

Everyone gasped at who it was: Supernova. Her flaming hair (literally) and ultra bright white coat shone in the light. Which was not good.

"Everypony RUN!" Midnight shouted.

The group ran away, leaving Luna behind to deal with her sister. The group hid in the Everfree Forest, and after a while, the ponies saw a blast of light, and then a scream, and then a strange picture in the moon, raised for the last time for another 364 days.
