I looked around at the monitors inside the head of my massive machine. The statistics showed the mark and type of the machine I was controlling this minute. Mark I, Type Beta. My hooves plunged inside the pedals to speed ahead. The digital screens showed no activity, even on my radar, but knowing the griffins... "Agh!" I yelled. I jerked back only to spot another "machine." This one was for sure a hostile. The piercing red eyes, talons, the intricate layers of steel. "Oh shit," I muttered. "That... Can't be...." I sighed. "The Griffin War-Hero: Gilda." I reached for my rifle, spraying bullets in every direction. Gilda jumped, slid, and ducked, desperate to dodge every bullet. I groaned, "I'm not up to this crap." My muzzle twitched as I continued to spray bullets, stopping only to reload, stuffing a new clip in replacement to the old one. She dashed towards me, full-speed with her knife, continuing to dodge until the weapon penetrated the frontal plating of my Beta. I screamed as warning messages popped up around the glowing blue monitors. A brisk slice cut all of the wires inside, leaving a disembodied torso and head left. By now, the legs had already fallen to the ground on it's side. My mane was curled back by the helmet, but the shaking caused it to fall forward. Luckily, the remains of my Beta didn't explode. Yet. I slammed the button with my right fore-hoof, the chamber I was in flying out of the remains. I had bailed out. Gilda, my killer was already gone. I couldn't concentrate, mainly due to the fact that I had just lost. I bucked the rusty chamber as hard as I could, aiming to make it go flying. I wasn't surprised to see it didn't budge. "Damn piece of junk!" I yelled. My mane and tail was all messed up. I'll worry about it later. But how the hell was I supposed to get out of the city. I then reached into my vest, pulling out a radio. "I can call in help...." I mumbled. I held the radio up to my muzzle. "This is Beta 2-2, I am down, and requiring evac." A large beam of light pulled me up, as I plunged into Starship Excalibur. "I tell you, the Beta is and absolute piece of shit, give me a Charlie or something!" I argued, the squad-master frowning, then seeming to remember something. He started to speak, "Are you willing to test out a special prototype? You have plenty of experience. Correct?" I laughed, "I sure as hell do! As long as it is better than the Beta, I will be willing to test anything!" He chuckled, pressing a button on the control panel in front of him. "I present to you the Zeta!" Said the squad-master, gleefully. "The strongest, fastest, and most strongest machine Equestria has ever created!" I giggled. "Oh, is that so?" I kept laughing, barely being able to breath, "Well then, I can take out Gilda with it, right?" The squad-master then smiled even larger, "Ab-so-lute-ly!" I frowned, "It is a prototype, of course it can't yet, fucking liar. I'm not that stupid..." The squad-master laughed, "Nothing slips past you Misty!" And that's pretty much how I got to where I am today. Just my Zeta and me, along with fucking depression and system malfunctions.
