The End: Together At Last

The gentle knocking on the door at twelve o'clock in the morning startled everyone. Applebloom, being the light sleeper she was, was the first up to see who was at the door. She opened the door and became face to face with Principal Celestia.

"Shhhh..." Celestia cautioned the stunned Applebloom. "There is no need to acknowledge that I am here. I am only dropping off your older sister."

Celestia stepped to the side to reveal Applejack. A huge grin broke out on Applebloom's face, and she rushed forward to embrace her sister. Applejack lowered herself to one knee and caught her sister in her arms.

"Oh, Applejack!" Applebloom said into her elder sister's shirt. "We were so worried about you!"

"I'm fine, Applebloom." Applejack replied as she held her tightly against her chest. "Principal Celestia really helped me out of a pickle."

Applebloom slide out of her elder sister's embrace. When Applejack rose to her full night, she turned around to thank Celestia again for her help, but the principal was gone. She was already entering her car and closing the door. She have a friendly wave before pulling onto the dirt path that lead up to the main road. Applejack then turned back to face her little sister.

"Where's Sunset?" Applejack asked hurriedly. "Is she alright? Is the baby here?"

Applebloom beamed from ear to ear as she pointed out into the pasture. Applejack followed her sister's finger until her gaze rested upon the stables. It was hard to see, but Applejack could make out a faint glow eminating from the windows of the structure.

"I'll tell Granny Smith and Twilight you're back." Applebloom said as she retreated back inside the house. "You go see her..."

With those last words hanging in the air, Applebloom closed the door, locking Applejack outside. Applejack's heart was racing. She quickly turned tail and began sprinting towards the stable. She crawled through the fence and into the pasture. The landscape was pitch black under the cover of the night. Applejack fell flat on her face as her foot got caught in a snake hole, but she quickly got back up and resumed sprinting towards her target. At last, Applejack reached the door. She carefully cracked it open and slid inside. Applejack let out a sharp exhale. She light she had seen was coming from the center of the room. Chief was laying down with all four legs neatly tucked under his body. Sunset Shimmer was slumped against his side, cradled by the stallion's neck. Then, there was the glow coming from within Sunset's arms.

"Is... that her?" Applejack asked quietly as she stepped into the light.

"Applejack!" Sunset gasped. "You... You're here!"

The glow eminating from the baby began to brighten. Applejack nodded as she walked closer.

"Yeah... I'm here... I got into a bit of trouble at Canterlot..."

"Twilight told me." Sunset said as she began wiping away the tears on her cheeks. "Oh, Applejack... I'm so glad you're here... Want to say hello?"

Applejack lowered herself to her knees next to Sunset. The glowing baby in her arms giggled at the sight of the cowgirl leaning over her.

"Hey there, sweet thing..." Applejack said, choking up a little. "She's... beautiful... What's her name?"

"Sunshine Harvest..." Sunset said before pulling Applejack into a quick kiss. "Our daughter..."

Sunset, with her hand still around the back of Applejack's head, pulled her girlfriend into another kiss, a much longer, much deeper, and much wetter kiss.

"Mmmm... Sunny..." Applejack moaned as she fell on her rear.

Sunset was silent. There wasn't many words to be said when there were lips that needed to be touched and tongues that needed to be sucked. The sloppy kiss continued, and their embrace deepened. Chief nickered happily at the two girls making out. When Sunset finally broke the kiss, Applejack wore a huge grin, one that stretched from ear to ear.

"Ya' know, this means ya' can't keep livin' in that apartment no more..." Applejack said softly.

It took a moment for Sunset to understand her words.

"You... want me to stay here?" She asked Applejack.

The cowgirl nodded her head quickly.

"Of course!" Applejack said happily. "Now that you're a mother, you'll need folks to help ya' take care of the baby. Plus, Chief will want to see her as often as he can, I imagine."

Chief let out a soft whinny, confirming what Applejack had just said. Sunset was blushing.

"I... I don't know what to say..."

Applejack cupped Sunset's cheeks in her hands and pulled her in close.

"Ya' don't have to say anythin'..." Applejack said softly. "Just give me a kiss to say 'yes'..."

Sunset didn't give it a second though. She wrapped her free arm around Applejack and pulled her into a sweet, tender kiss. Applejack moaned as the soft skin of Sunset's lips gently grazed against her own. When the kiss broke, Sunset was grinning wildly.

"Of course, I'll live with you..." She said, breathing heavily.

Chief whinnied loudly as he bumped his head against Sunset's.

"Yes... You two, my big stud..." She said before kissing the horse's snout sloppily.

"Maybe we could get Princess Twilight to visit and help with her magic powers." Applejack suggested as she rubbed a finger against Sunshine's horn.

Sunshine giggled as her horn began to glow brighter again.

"That's a great idea, Applejack." Sunset said as she offered the infant to her.

Applejack hesitated at first, but she managed to take the baby in her arms. Applejack stuck her tongue out at the giggling baby, extracting more laughter from her.

"Sunshine... Harvest..." Applejack said with a heaving sigh. "Ya' did a great job, Sunset. She's a beautiful baby."

Sunset Shimmer smiled as she looked back and forth between Chief and Applejack. Her smile widened as the happy feelings sunk into her skin. Everything felt right with the world, and she was as happy as she could be.

"No... We did a great job." Sunset said as she rubbed Chief's mane and help Applejack's hand. "But you are right about her being a beautiful baby. There's no doubt about that."

Sunshine then cooed happily, right before she fell asleep in Applejack's arms.
