Chapter 1: Leaving the World I Know

Marble walked into the Dining room for dinner after a long hard day in the mines. Limestone walking along with her, " Phew! Another day of breaking up rocks on the farm. Wonder whats for dinner!," Limestone inquired.

They both sat down at the table, Maud and Pa came in to sit down as well. Mother sat down the food, serving everypony before her self, and then sitting down.

Everypony sat in silence as they ate, eventually Pa spoke up, " I know this isn't the best of times to talk about this. But, Marble Pie..." Marble looked up at her Father curiously, her mane falling over one eye.

He sighed softly and glanced to his wife before back to his daughter ." The family thinks you should move to Canterlot-" Marble's eyes widen and she blinks, He quickly tries to finish his sentence," before you say anything, we all agreed to send you there...cause...well...you need to open up more. And staying at the farm isn't really helping you be social, you know us well, but its time you learn to meet new ponies and actually hold a conversation rather than just saying " Mmmmhmmm"."

Marble looked around the room, the family nodding in agreement, even Boulder was nodding, due to Maud waving him up and down slowly. She stuttered for a moment, " ...But...I d-don't want...t-to...leave..." She dropped her head down to look at the table, ears falling flat to her head.

Oh dear Celestia, Canterlot? Of all places, why there, with all those ponies. Why not Ponyville, Pinkie Pie would be there!A pony I would know amongst all those other ponies!

"I sent a letter to your Sister, her friends and her will take you to Canterlot and help you find a suitable house and show you around," Father said with a slight sad tone. She nodded, knowing she wouldn't be able to say no to her father.

" Uh...come on Marble...Uhm...I'll help you pack?" Limestone offered, worried for her sister. They were close, Marble was always opening up to Limestone. She nodded and got up from the table. Heading up stairs with her sister.

" So...Canterlot, I hear its beautiful...and that it has a beautiful view of Equastria," Limestone said, trying to make conversation as she helped her sister pack. " Pinkie will be here tomorrow to take you to the train. I'll...miss you a lot...." Marble said nothing, feeling slightly sad for having to leave, and slightly betrayed that her best friend agreed to make her leave home.

Limestone could sense the sorrow from her sister, she sighed and looked down. " I'm sorry Marble. I don't want you to leave at all. But, you need to open up more. And not just to me, and if sending you away will be able to help with that, then I guess that is what needs to be done." She looked back at Marble, getting no response.

They stayed in silence as they packed, Marble not even looking at her sister. She was to busy thinking of everything, feeling distressed, angry, sad and betrayed.

What if no pony likes me there? Or...what if I don't make any friends, and they just sent me there for nothing? Anything could happen...I don't want to go...It's not fair at all...And I can't believe Limestone agreed to make me leave. And, why are they making me go alone...

Marble looked at her sister, " Can't you come with me...I...d-dont want to be alone...Or atleast Maud could come too. Maybe Pinkie could" Limestone looked up at Marble.

" I have to stay and help Ma and Pa with the farm, Maud is going to school, and Pinkie is a Element of Harmony...It would be inconvenient if she left Ponyville to stay in Canterlot with you. Besides, you need to do this on your own Marble..we all can't be here for you forever..." Limestone said as she hugged her sister. " Let's just go to sleep, maybe the rest will help your nerves."

Marble didn't say anything, she gently hugged her sister in return, before climbing into bed.Limestone turned out the light, then she too got into bed. After awhile laying in there in the dark, she heard her sister snoring softly. She sighed, having trouble sleeping due to the thoughts swirling around in her head about tomorrow.

Maybe it won't be so bad? Maybe, I'll be fine. I mean what is the worst that could happen? Besides...there is no use in just laying here thinking about it...it won't change anything.

Marble closed her eyes, and started to cry softly. Scared of moving away from her family, to someplace she doesn't know. She eventually stopped crying, and sniffled softly. She was worn out from working the farm, packing, and crying that she gently dozed off.

Marble woke up the next morning, the light of the sun fluttering into the room from the cracks of the curtains. She didn't even remember the fact that she was moving today, just thinking it was another day on the farm.

Well, time to get up and get ready. Its gonna be another long day on the farm.

She got up and went to the bathroom, toke a quick bath and dried off. She dried her mane and tail before brushing them out, holding her mane up as she brushed her teeth. She rinsed her mouth out and let her mane fall back down, it fell to cover one eye. She looked at the mirror, and smiled,  then memories of yesterday popped into her mind again. And her smile faded, she had completely forget that she was moving.

Oh dear Celestia. I don't want to go
