Rainbow Dash's Point of view

I awoke to the door opening and closing. I cracked an eye open to see who it was, mainly expecting it to be Mikey. Not only was it Mikey, but all of my friends.

"Morning, Rainbow." Said Twilight as she looked at the filly I gave birth to.

"Hi, little one! Do you have a name?" Asked a very enthusiastic Pinkie Pie. Of course, Pinkie scared the poor filly. She began to cry, and I pulled her closer, calming her down.

"Careful, Pinkie, you scared her. Though, we still need to come up with a name for her." I said.

"Oh, sorry, Dashie." Apologized Pinkie Pie. Mikey walked up to me and kissed me on the lips. When he broke the short kiss I decided to ask him something.

"Mikey, What should we name her?" He puzzled the question for a moment. The filly looked at him.

"D-dadda." Was her first word. Mikey smiled. My friends let out an 'Awwwww'.

"Yes. I am your father." He said. "Can you say 'Momma'?" Gesturing towards me. The filly looked at me.

"M-m-ma-ma." She tried to say momma, but couldn't quite say it. She reached out a hoof and poked my nose. I was sure I was smiling. Mikey ruffled her mane gently.

"How about 'Blue Angle'? Is that a good name for her?" Mikey asked.

"It's lovely. What does it mean on Earth?" I asked.

"The Blue Angles are Earth's equivalent of the Wonderbolts." He answered smoothly.

"Oh, by the way Mike, I have a letter from Princess Celestia for you." Said Twilight, handing Mikey a letter. Mikey opened the letter, and read it.

"Oh, no..." Mikey said, a worried look adorned his face.

"What is wrong, Mikey?" I asked, still cradling Blue Angle.

"I- I'm being deployed again..." My heart sank when he said that.

"Surely that can't be. How long until you have to leave?" I asked, beginning to tear up.

"In twelve hours." He said, grimly. "I love you, Dashie."

"Just- Just promise you'll come back, and write letters. You won't just be promising me, but also Blue Angel here." I said, letting a tear roll down my face. "I love you, Mikey."

We spent the next few hours with each other. Then Mikey had to go.

Mike Smith's Point of view

A week later.

I began writing my first letter to Dashie.
Dear Dashie,

We are about to go into a battlefield. We will be assaulting a small, insurgent occupied island. Our intel has gathered what to expect. Machine guns, Snipers, Artillery. I will, if I get out of this alive, be sent home instantly. I look forward to seeing you again.
Love, Mikey.

I then gave the letter to the mailmare, who took it straight to Ponyvile.

Five hours later

"CLEAR THE CRAFT, THIRTY SECONDS!" yelled the driver. I looked at the scared ponies surrounding me. I turned and looked at the ponies under my command.

"Alright. Move fast, try to cross the beach. All who gets out alive goes home to their families."

"FIVE SECONDS!"

"Get ready."

"GO! GO! GO!" The ramp lowered, and bullets rained on us. I rushed out of the craft and slid behind cover. Few were that lucky. Most of the ponies died before even leaving the landing craft. I ran from cover to cover. But eventually, ran out of cover, to which I was running in a zig-zag pattern.

Then there was a severe pain in my gut.

"MEDIC!"

Rainbow Dash's Point of view

Five days latter

I was reading Mikey's letter. Then there was a knock at the door.

"I coming!" I called out, trotting towards the door. I opened the door to see it was Mikey.

"Hello, Dashie." He said, with a smirk.

"MIKEY!" I said, clinging on to his chest. "I am so glad you are home."

"Even if it will just be for the week?" Mikey asked. "Now, Where is our little Blue Angle?"

"She is taking a nap." I said, not willing to answer the first question.

"Ah. I see." Mikey sounded like he under stood.

"So...How did you get up here alone?" I asked.

"Fluttershy." He replied.

"Okay." I then kissed him on the lips, and we both entered the house. We went to the couch and cuddled there for a few hours.
