Of course, you can never touch the merchandise in the store. There had been a miniature available for inspection, standing a full foot tall; yet I had picked the regular Rarity. Standing a full four feet in height is no small toy for a little girl, not when you can see every detail; the moving eyes, real mane and tail with individual and stylish hairs, the hard and spiralled horn, long black eyelashes and eyebrows, even the mouth and orifices looks as if she would be real.
Once I had brought her home, I could feel the warm, lifelike but somewhat rubbery hide in place of the coat of fur you had half by half expected. She even has the three gem diamonds for her mark. On closer inspection; she would even look at me and focus her bright blue eyes on me, when I am speaking to her.
As I pulled her out of the large crate, she started to smile at me. She is giving me the impression that she is appreciating that I released her from the cramped space of the crate, but more to the point that she is enjoying my attention as well. Of course, it is natural for Rarity to enjoy the attention; this is the personality that goes with her.
“Thanks for letting me out of that horrible crate; it is awfully cramped in there, you know!” she prompted.
“You are welcome, my dear Rarity; I figured it would be, but they are not caring too much about your comfort, sadly!” I responded.
I stared at her for a very long moment, this isn’t the voice you expected to hear from a mere toy or a robot; what I hear is Rarity, it is clearly the voice of a Lady.
“They have no respect for a Lady, these days!” I then added.
“Thank you. No, I guess they do not, from the way they have been handling me; these ruffians!” she responded.
“Is there anything I could do for you, Rarity; in order to make your arrival just a little bit more comfortable?” I inquired.
“A cup of tea would be great. Then I would need a mirror so I can see myself. Maybe you happen to have a decent brush laying around?” she responded.
“Would Lady Earl Swirl be to your likings?” I inquired; as I was looking through the blends available, in the cabinet.
“Lady Earl Swirl sounds delightful, thank you!” she responded.
“Then I guess that is what we will have!” I put forth; as I placed the two cups on the table, one on each side.
“Would you take sugar, or would you prefer your tea with anything else?” I added politely.
“No, thank you, my dear; just plain tea, thank you!” she responded.
“As you please, my Lady. Plain tea it is, just hope it will be to your satisfaction; my dear Rarity!” I responded.
Just keeping my eyes off of my stunning, white Unicorn companion is all the challenge I need; as I try my best, in order to prepare the tea for the both of us.
At first, I was half by half expecting her to pick up her cup in the Earth Pony manner. To my surprise, I realized just how wrong I had been in my expectations; even knowing her to be a Unicorn with more than reasonable control of both her limbs and magic, but there isn’t supposed to be magic floating around where I live. At least, that had been my understanding of the matter; as rudimentary and miss-guided as my understanding may have been.
Little by little, I start to see my Rarity in a new and very different light. If it is no my attention and how I am treating her; yet, she isn’t a mere doll or robot for me to play with as I please. Good thing I had chosen Rarity, a personality I had felt closed to from the get-go. She is in the form of the original Pony, not the secondarily released girl. She is a companion and a friend, first and foremost; even if I guess I could have great help from her, in the areas of her expertise; clothes and fashion mainly, even if I guess I could ask her about a great many things on style and taste in general.
Of course her skin is feeling more like rubber, than skin or fur on delivery; considering how she had fared, and how she was feeling as she had spent her time in the cramped trap, referred to as a crate. They had seen her as a mere doll or merchandise, and nothing more; they would be comfortable in storing her like that until the sun grew cold with no problems whatsoever. I couldn’t have seen her stay in there for a moment longer than I had.
Just seeing Rarity; my friend, Rarity lifting up her cup and drink her tea brought warmth to my heart.
The tip of her horn had started to glow and gather power in a sphere of blue light; then the light had lanced out and hit the cup, lifting it up to her muzzle where she was sitting comfortably. I could see her breath over the surface of the green to yellowish brown liquid that is the brew called tea. Just as she had blown off the hot steam, she slowly and steadily take her first sip.
“How is your tea?” I inquired, breathlessly in anticipation as I am looking warmly at Rarity.
“I can’t complain; the temperature was just right, and I do enjoy the Lady Earl Swirl blend!” she responded with a nod.
“I may have to take you to the local Tea House, just to show you what is available locally!” I added.
“That is something I will appreciate!” she mused, as she was slowly sipping on the tea.
Of course, there may be problems presenting themselves, when I am taking her out and showing her the town. She is a Pony, and an Equine; even when she is speaking as eloquently as the finest of Ladies you ever saw.
To her credit; there should be no hygiene or allergy issues bound to her person, the way I know is unavoidable with any regular Horse you see in the pastures or in the boxes.
