Lord Tirek, King Sombra, and Nightmare Moon have defeated and slain Princess Celestia and her husband Discord. After their defeat, the three tyrants have taken over Equestria and completely destroyed the Elements of Harmony under their hooves. With their ascension, all hope the oppressed populace ever had has been crushed utterly, and misery plagues the world like a storm for the next one-thousand years.

Solaris Star, a joyful, carefree spirit and rediscovered daughter of the alicorn and the draconequus, may be that hope the land needs. After finding out who she is, the young half-pony sets out to travel across the oppressed kingdoms with her stepsister Twilight Sparkle in order to find out how to repair what has been broken, one step at a time.
