Chapter 1: The Winter Evening
It was a nice evening of the beginning of winter: the first of December, to be exact.
I am Mihail Belov, I am twenty one, and I'm currently living in the woods in a nice house that I've built myself. I have everything: a profitable job, internet, good computer. Well, there was no reason for me to come out of my house on this particular day.
Well, I am nothing special. My heigh is about one meter eighty centimeters, I have short brown hair and dark-green eyes. I also have a short beard that I am so proud of.
I was playing good ol' Left 4 Dead 2 with my friends, when I heard something from outside.
"Hey guys, there's something going on outside the house. I better check it out." I told them, then stood up from a comfortable gaming chair. I walked to the window and opened the curtain. It was dark outside, though it was becoming brighter and brighter.
I had to turn away from the window because of the light. A few seconds later I heard a loud explosion.
Quickly putting on my clothes and boots, I go outside to check things out. It could be that a helicopter or a plane crashed!
I see something burning in the distance. I dash through the forest and see its source.
Holy crazed god of immortal worms' civilization! It's...
Wait, no. I rub my eyes and look at her. I rub them again. And again. She's still here.
Well, it seems what I see is real. It's Queen Chrysalis herself!
After bringing her home and cleaning her scratches, I tell the guys that I won't be playing with them tonight. After that, I put Chrysalis on a spare bed that I have in my bedroom. Uh, should've washed her before doing this, she's covered in dirt and tree sap.
Well, why did I decide to get her to my home?
You see, I've been watching the show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic for quite some time, and I certainly know who Chrysalis is and what she's done. I'm unsure if the comics series are, huh, canon in this case, though. So, the reason I picked her up is that I believe that no one deserves to die in the woods, especially someone that never actually killed anyone. Well, I hope so. Oh, and brony community would kill me if I left her there, that's for sure.
Surprisingly, she has a layer of short, black fur, which covers her black carapace. That green plating on her back looks more like that thing that covers a bug's wings. Chrysalis is just like from the show, though I can see her texture and feel it. Her legs are different as well, I can certainly see hooves and legs as separate things, not just as one. She doesn't have holes in her hooves, though.
Her muzzle remained the same, eyes just as big as in the show. So, her muzzle is unlike a real horse's one. Her crown-antenna thingy is atop her head, though I could take it off. It just sticks to her head if placed upon it.
Her overall frame is smaller than any horse's, I think her horn's end will be just slightly above the top if my head if she stands up on her fours.
Just, I'm wondering... What will she do when she wakes up?
Her wounds healed completely an hour after I took her to my home, but she's still unconscious.
To be honest, I don't know what's wrong. I don't know changelings' physiology nor am I familiar with equine one. I don't think I can carry her to a veterinarian. If she wakes up there, she would mess everything up. Instead, I decided to call my friend. He's a vet, and sure can keep secrets. He works with horses lots of times at the stable, so I think he knows a lot about a horse's physiology. I hope that changelings at least share similarities with horses.
"Hello?" my friend's voice sounded from my phone.
"Hey, Alex, I need you to come over to my house. I have an injured horse here, and I don't know what's wrong. It's been unconscious since I found it." I reply to him. "Though... There is something about this one that you've never seen in your life."
"Uh... Where did you get a horse?"
"Kinda long story. Just come over to my house and see the horse."
Ten minutes later I was outside my house meeting my friend. We shake hands and proceed inside the house.
"Look," I stop him in the hall. "There is something really weird you'll see."
"Did you paint a horse like Twilight Sparkle and now can't remove the paint?" he jokes.
"No, of course not!" I laugh. My friend knows I'm a brony, so he likes messing with me about it. In a friendly manner, not like those haters do. "But, well... You see."
We proceed to my bedroom. I open the door and see how my friend's eyes widened.
"What the hell is that?!"
I simply show him a picture of Queen Chrysalis that I found on the internet using my PC.
"Uh... How?" he stares at me. I tell him the story how I've found her. "Uh, Mih, that's some cra~azy shit right here. I know and see you're telling the truth, but... I think you understand."
"Yeah, I know it's crazy, but it's real. And you shouldn't tell it anyone."
"I kinda figured it out." he chuckled. "Like anyone's going to believe me."
"That's right." me and him shared a laugh.
After about five minutes, Alex came to a conclusion.
"Well, I see that nothing is wrong with her." Alex scratched his chin. "Do you have any more information about here, even from the show for girls?"
"Well, it is said that she's born from a carnivorous tree that grew in a magical pond and fed on insects and bones. That can be proved wrong, though... Not really much here. Well, creatures like her feed on all kind emotions, especially love."
"You know it sounds cheesy, yes?" he deadpanned.
"I'm serious, man!"
"I know, but it's... Well, weird." Alex shakes his head. "Well, if you somehow manage to give her emotions or love, she's likely to wake up. I don't want to know how it's done, so I'm leaving." He picks up his bag and walks to the front door. "Oh, and try not to get, you know, romantically involved with her. That teeth will likely bite your you-know-what off."
"Oh, come on man, I thought jokes about horse-fucking will no longer come from you!"
"You never know what your brony-friend is up to." he wiggles his eyebrows. I punch him in the shoulder.
"Hey!"
"Nah, just kidding. But if you do such thing, the internet will fucking blow up if it finds out about it." we share a laugh.
"Yep, I think it will destroy every single mlp-related website." I chuckle.
After Alex left, I've been sitting on the edge of the guest bed, thinking of a way to transfer my emotions to Chrysalis. I only saw her draining it from Shining Armor using her changeling magic, so I really have no idea.
I touch her horn, and nothing happens. I take a firm grip on it, yet nothing happens. I try to rub it, but nothing happens. I even kiss it, and nothing happens. Ugh! Do I need to do like in one of those Disney movies?
Well, it's not that I'm against it... but imagine her surprise when she wakes up and sees me kissing her. I would surely loose my eye or both, and be made like swiss cheese. So, I don't want to do this.
But I don't want to leave her to die either... Uh, I don't have a choice.
I slowly get closer to her muzzle with my lips. Damn... It's strange to do this. I stop mere inches from her.
Well, I just hope she won't kill me. Here I go...
I kiss her on the lips. That's... surprisingly not as weird as I thought it would be. And I feel strange... Like something is being sucked out of me. Shiver runs down my spine as I keep holding our lips together.
When I pull myself back, I see her mouth opened, cloud of pink slowly enters it... Wow, that must be what emotions of care and worry look like.
Well, I hope she wakes up soon and doesn't kill me right away.
