"Thanks for inviting on your late night fly Rainbow Dash" Scootaloo said, beaming. Scootaloo was now fourteen, and with the help of Rainbow Dash, finally learned to fly. Rainbow Dash smiled at the Orange coated filly, and rubbed her mane playfully.
"No problem squirt, I get bored doing this on my own sometimes, and your the best company I have up here" Rainbow explained. Scootaloo smiled back. They had been flying for about an hour now, and we're now heading back home.
"I've never even been flying out here in the night before, and now I have, I have to say that the stars are beautiful" Scootaloo said, looking up at the stars. Rainbow Dash nodded and looked up. Just then, a dozen or so shooting stars floated across the sky, Shining brightly across the night sky .
"Look Scoots, make a wish" Rainbow Dash said. Scootaloo smiled and closed her eyes. Rainbow dash brought her head down, only to see a cliff side that they were head straight towards!
"SCOOTALOO!!!" Rainbow dash Yelled, flinging her-self in front of the young filly. Scootaloo gasped and opened her eyes, only to see Rainbow Dash's wing's colliding with the cliff, snapping both of them. Rainbow Dash grunted, and she fell.
"RAINBOW NO!" Scootaloo screamed, speeding towards the falling pony. Rainbow Dash only fell faster as Scootaloo tried to grab her. No matter how fast she flew, she was always inches away from Rainbow Dash, unable to grab her. The ground was nearing. No Scootaloo thought. Not like this, I can't lose her like this. Just as Scootaloo managed to grab the cyan pony's hoof, she collided with the ground with a thud.
"RAINBOW DASH!!!!"
Scootaloo nudged the almost lifeless pony. She was alive, but barely. Tears formed in Scootaloo's eyes, as Rainbow Dash proudly smiled at her.
"Rainbow Dash, please be okay. This is all my fault. I should have watched where I was going, I should have-" Scootaloo started, only to be paused by RainbowDash who slowly put her hoof to the fillies mouth, giving her a weak smile.
"It's okay squirt....... You still caught me" Rainbow Dash sweetly whispered. Scootaloo's tears fell onto the rainbow maned pony's coat, as Rainbow Dash's eyes slowly closed.
"No, Rainbow stay with me! I love you" Scootaloo sobbed. Scootaloo heard one final whisper from RainbowDash.
"I love you too" The cyan pony's body went limps. Scootaloo loudly sobbed, holding the lifeless pony in her hooves. This must have caught the attention of other pony's, because a group of them, including the remaining mane six, Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle came racing out at the sound of Scootaloo's sobs. None of them had to say anything to know what happened. Pinkies hair instantly deflated, and she burst into tears, hugging the now crying Twilight. Fluttershy broke down, falling to the ground and sobbing. AppleJack held her younger sister closely, as they both cried. Rarity burst into tears, Spike putting a reassuring claw on his shoulder and Sweetie Belle embracing her sister, while they too cried.
Nopony was more emotional than Scootaloo though. She had the lost the pony she thought of as her sister, her best friend, her inspiration. Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle had to literally drag her away, as other pony's took her away.
"NO I CANT LEAVE HER. LET ME GO WITH HER" Scootaloo screamed, struggling from her friends grasp. The now mane five tried to calm her down, with no luck. Eventually, Twilight had to cast a sleeping spell on her.
A few months past, and within those months, Scootaloo had not smiled. It was hard having to go to Rainbow Dash's funeral, and give a speech. She could barely speak. While her friends and family comforted her, she was still unhappy, depressed even. She couldn't accept that Rainbow Dash was gone. Until one night.
The dream was the same; Scootaloo would be standing on top the the cliff that caused Rainbow Dash's demise. Scootaloo just stood there, preparing to jump, to hopefully join her friend, even if it was just a dream. But this time it was different. She was about to jump.
"Don't do it scoots"
The young filly quickly stopped, and turned around. Standing there, was the glowing spirit of Rainbow Dash. Scootaloo couldn't say anything. She just ran up to her and hugged her, laughing and crying. Rainbow Dash held her close.
"You don't need to think it was your fault kid"
"But it was my fault, I should have just looked where I was going" Scootaloo countered, her head dropping. Rainbow Dash lifted it again.
"I should have made sure that nothing was in front of us, like a responsible adult would do"
"But why did you throw yourself in front of me?" Rainbow Dash sighed.
"Because you're still so young, and have so much more to live for. You only recently got your cutiemark, and you need to live your dreams. I had already lived a good life. I got great friends, and I was able to hang out with the greatest little filly ever" Scootaloo laughed a bit. "Now, when you wake up, I want to to get out there, and show me that you WILL make your dreams come true. I love ya kid. Now make me proud"
Scootaloo then woke up. Something inside her changed that morning. She leaped out of bed, and raced to the CMC's meeting place. Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle were already there, they usually arrived early. When they saw Scootaloo running towards them, they thought something was wrong. But when She just hugged them both, they knew what was wrong. They embraced their friend, saying it would be okay.
Throughout the years, Scootaloo had slowly accepted what had happened those years ago. She watched her friends gain their accomplishments, and set out to gain her's. She ended up stumbling upon the Wonderbolts, who were looking for new recruits. She easily got in. Though her life was successful, she forgot the night at the cliff, and she never, EVER forgot about Rainbow Dash
