This year went by a little bit fast...
With one more quiet look outside you could see the dry snow, settling on the street outside, only to whisk away in an instant, the cold wind like a giant saw spinning and slicing through coats of those who even dared to be out in it's fury. Icy roads and wind that can make any grown man cry....just what you wanted on this Christmas Eve. At least you got all your gifts right on time...only probably because everyone else is locked up inside they're house at the fireplace, with a thick blanket whimpering about the bitter weather.
As you know from previous years, this day is the longest of the year, and hopefully getting some of these wrapped will pass some time. You even remember while being up at the store to see the "believe meter" raising higher than ever, but watching the disapproving walk by. There used to be a spirit in the air when you were younger, an excitement that made your heart flutter and twirl in excitement, and now its kinda....well....gone....
About a week ago, you saw one empty letter left on the table in the store of the believe meter, and there on that thick chair you sat, and quietly began to write, with the tiny pencil, clearly meant for the little ones, your Christmas list, and thanking Santa for all he done....
But now here you are at home, cold, feeling sick of all the negativity flowing around you all the time. This weather and nothing to stay warm in or nothing to do, but wait, and be low on money, and be low on time.........and be low of Christmas spirit. But there was that tiny, TINY spark that was still there, that lets you remember, and brightens your heart when you see the excitement of a kid on Christmas day..... that spark maybe even brightened up the fact of the horrible weather outside... It just seemed Christmas just seemed down-in-thew-dumps the more you thought about it. it stinks being the only one to write letters or the only one to play and like holiday music, or the only one to keep the spirit up without the use of any alcohol or things. Back in the 90's, it used to not be that way... and people were not always asking for the latest video game system, or violent shoot-em-ups. The thought of how much things have changed almost brought a tear to your eye.
Your mind seemed to blank out for a moment there.... The sound of you locking your front door was deafening, and jolted you out of your trance of thinking for a moment. Your family on one side, and you on the other. They were heading out to the local fair, but to you, it just seemed less fun each time you went, and eventually it became to stressful to go. Maybe you can have a nice dinner for them ready when they get home....if you finished all the stupid chores they threw on you first....maybe you should have gone with them, just so you could avoid that. The chilling frost on the windows told you otherwise, however, and soon you feel like you made the right decision.
You thought it was going to be just a normal night too. It was probably going to be a ton of chores, and a night of trying to find some half-decent clop pics of Vinyl Scratch....futa preferably of course. You laughed at yourself thinking on it, and shook your head. To think just a few years ago, you had no idea who she was, and now she has become an ultimate hero to you, and follows you in your head every time you practice making music, bad or good. You just practiced anyway, doing it for the rush of it...just like her, and of course, ending off on imagining how she would award you for practicing so much and diligently.

A soft shift came from under the tree and your eyes naturally darted over to it. Some of the ornaments lightly swayed, but nothing looked different. Mabey it was your dog? But he was in the other room, rather than nibbling at the twigs. There was what seemed to be a little bit of a knocking sound, now, from one of the larger boxes. Perhaps another dog? no......That would be to cruel to leave him in the box until Christmas.... Something however, DEFINITELY moved, this time enough for you to naturally draw your hands to your side, reaching for your mace, but only to find that you left it in your room, not necessarily expecting a grinch or something to be shifting and hiding in a box on the INSIDE of the house. Taking a step closer, there was a pause, before the entire box flipped over, and out rolled a giant puff of fur, of cyan and white. You try to not show how shaky you were, and in half amazement and fear, blink to see if the present was just a figment of your wild imagination, but it wasn't. Regardless of the facts, however, you could hardly believe it.
"So....um....you gonna stare at me forever or what?" She mumbled low, knowing that it hit you like the Friendship Express at full throttle, adding in almost a inaudible whine of desperation.
Upon the first syllables your heart skips a few beats. Bewildered, but true, this was definitely the voice of your favorite DJ, the soft-fured, cute-tailed wild pony herself....Vinyl Scratch. Only after realizing it, you had to take a few breaths to make sure that you weren't gonna pass out. Probably to late anyway for that. You didn't seem drugged or anything, and yet here was this adorable 4 foot pony sitting in front of you with a knowing yet nervous look on her face. Apparently she done this before, as she didn't seem afraid of you for whatever reason...
"H....hello." you manage, barely letting that out.
You couldn't even think straight. Were you dreaming? Seeing things? High? Drunk?
You manage to let out a tiny squeak as you stepped forward, shaking harder than you have in a while, expecting to go right through her, or be seeing things all together if you touched her fur gently. You give one more pet on her head slowly, just as if to be sure, and Vinyl stopped and folded her ears down. You knew this was a reaction from ponies when they usually feel sad or worried. Perhaps she sensed how shake you were and worried for you....bringing you both seemingly closer together.
And one heck of a way to give a holiday welcome! Wait until your friends here that while your family was out that you got a visit from Vinyl Scratch, your absolute favorite DJ! Right in your living room! Upon a split second of thinking however, reason kicked in, but you knew maybe you can tell them you got a "talking Vinyl Scratch doll" but if they asked to see it, your cover would probably be blown. Your family wouldn't even know what that is.
She looked at you skeptically, almost as if she was looking right past you and shrugged. "We can't actually have you LEGALLY tell anyone about me stopping by here though. Christmas police and all that jazz. Just keep it on the down-low if you know what I mean..."
WAIT. Wait wait wait wait wait wait. JUST keep it on the down-low??? And how in the world were you supposed to do that, with a 4 1/2 foot tall unicorn who apparently sailed in from a magical dimension with the help of Santa Clause and the so-called Christmas Police?!?

It went through your mind for a half second on how kinky she happened to make that sound, but you felt it was your best interest to obey her wish if you were willing to remember this. Besides, there was no doubt that she probably could arrange that from her showing she was even there in the first place. Didn't want to test that...

She is a guest after all. Who knows how long it took her to get here. She might be thirsty, and how dare you not offer her a drink. But, what would magical ponies drink anyway. With a goofy smile, you nod furiously and walk to your room, not really taking your eyes off of her, afraid that she might disappear as soon as you turn around.
You didn't have to really tell Vinyl Scratch what everything was, due to the fact that a lot of the household supplies were also in they're world, but smaller. I guess the show "My LITTLE pony" was actually a little accurate. She wasn't to big or to small though, standing slightly higher than your waist,
but you could still see her amazement when she stared at the giant fridge that stood before her in the kitchen.
You open it carefully, trying not to show your shaky hand, but you assume that she knew that already.
Taking a look in her eyes, she didn't seem frightened, but in fact, quite relaxed, her same playfulness and straightforwardness from in the show, showing right on her very face.
"C-can I get you anything to drink?"
She chuckled to herself. "Nah. I wont need that. I actually think your the one who's gonna need the drink from how much your sweating out bud. Your um......let's see.... "Her horn lit up with a mild blue color, and materialized some papers out of thin air. They actually looked a bit familiar, and when she held them out, your eyes grew wide.

"Sorry bud, but that is official documentation and that belongs to the top officials over at the North Pole." Vinyl shook her head sorrowfully and gently tugged it from your hands, leaving you almost wanting to tear up from all this emotion. All this time, for all these years that you been writing to Santa....all the times the bullies told you that he wasn't real, yet you were always somehow awarded for believing....And the one lucky night where you found a snowy boot print, only to find your photo you took of it was gone by morning.....All of it wasn't in vain.
Vinyl looked at you, slightly worried as you took it all in, and pulled you closer to her and gives you a gentle hug. For all those "believe meters you see, they raise it up to try to raise hopes, to try to get what little magic there is left going. Its a lie. The boxes are empty. Santa even enlisted regular people to keep watch on those who actually write letters out, and have them report.....elves if you may, but not really. Those people, ESPECIALLY the slightly older ones, like you, are rewarded for they're help, for keeping up the spirit. Santa came across your letter 2 nights ago, and had to call me in, and asked me to make your dreams come true." Even through the sensitive conversation, you can almost see a blush over her, probably from worry. Part of you wanted to leave her be, and the other part would want to just grab her and hug her tight to never let go.
You stand there dumbfounded for a moment before managing to give a little nod. "Thanks for coming by here Vinyl. Just getting to talk to you really um..you know....was good enough.”
“No it's not silly, we both know this.”
Your breath caught nervously.
“And don't lie. This isn't the season for that, nor is any season. It clearly says on your letter you wanted a warm Vinyl doll to hug as you fell asleep. You could understand it was a long trip for you, and Santa must be working hard to make sure all the gifts were going out by tomorrow. Careful to lift with your legs and not your back, you soon pick her up enough so where she can gently rest over your shoulder.

You had to admit the fact that you were actually holding her, really brought you to reality that she was actually there. Not even your craziest of dreams were this vivid. Poor Vinyl almost shivered, her fur slightly cold and damp from probably the cold air of the north pole, or some sort of weird teleport thing. I mean, you assumed that too, was very possible since Vinyl was in your arms, something that your other Brony friends said could never happen, but no way your letting your memories be erased on this one.
Vinyl whined a little bit, not realizing how warm you actually were. She knew that you were sweating from when you saw her, but she didn't really comprehend that you were so kind to.
