The Real Hearth's Warming Eve
The Real Story of Hearth’s Warming Eve.
Told by: Country Swing
Twilight took off her costume for the play. Her ragged clothes that once were on her were off at last. She smiled, then hung it onto the nearest pony model. She frowned and fixed it, it was a tiny bit off-center. Then she saw her friends, Rarity was chatting away.
“And then! That old mare was swept off of her feet!” She said, then laughed joining the laughter among the other four.
“Hey, Twilight? We are gonna go get somethin’ to eat at that gingerbread and pie store... Wanna come along?” Her friend Applejack said. Twilight shrugged, she wasn’t really in the mood for eating. Or, anything really. She just wanted to get home, snuggle up, and read a book like every night.
“No thanks girls, I’m not very hungry... I’ll just...Get to the train...” She said, looking out the door. She headed towards the door, but Rarity stopped her.
“Darling! Don’t be silly! The train doesn’t get here until sundown. We still have a long time here in canterlot... Perhaps we could swing by your old library or something?” She said. Twilight just pushed past the unicorn.
“No thanks.” She said, and exited the room, leaving her friends. She really did want to see her old library, but, she wanted to go home more than anything. Maybe she’d have time to think about her letter to Princess Celestia. She gave her this night off, but that didn’t mean she got two nights off! She smiled to herself. Tonight was a night to herself. She looked at the town, memories flooded in her mind... She quickly shook them out though, she didn’t have much fun here. She looked around, then found a nice place to stay... It was her favorite Cocoa shop, ‘Cocoa butter’s Cocoa shop’. She stopped into the store, her face lit up. She smiled happily, as she remembered the amazing smell of Chocolate chips and whipped cream. She ordered a small hot chocolate, with some peppermint on the top. She smiled at the aroma around her. She looked out the window and saw her friends. They were laughing, talking and having a good time. Twilight wished she could get out there and play with them. She sighed, then she looked to the top of the castle. Princess Celestia put up the ‘Flame of Friendship’ heart on the top of the castle.
‘Long live the flame!’ She heard in the distance. She then she turned her head, to two ponies. She remembered them, Lyra and Bon-Bon.
“Did you see that, that Princess Luna actually said that that ACTUALLY happened?” She said.
“NO WAY Bon-Bon! I heard from a Pony that it was actually FAKE!” Lyra said.
“You’re totally wrong! It’s true!” Bon-Bon said.
“Fake!” Lyra shouted.
“TRUE!” Bon-Bon shouted back.
Twilight had enough.
“Actually! It was both! Sure it skipped some parts, but it was MOSTLY true!” She said. The two ponies just looked at her and continued talking, ignoring her completely. She turned away. Of course SHE knew the story. Of love, hate, and war. But do you?
Well, of course not.
You believe the play, but the true story is about to unfold.
So sit back, we are about to embark on a story of Hate and Love. Of Trust and backstabbers. Of courage and of the weak.
This is the true story of Equestria on Hearth’s Warming Eve.
