Chapter of Evil Two: The Servant of Evil, Twilight
Previous ChapterThe Apple pony was begging for her cousin to be freed from all charges. My princess, Sparkler, wasn't hearing any of it. I stood loyally by her side. It was his fault for stealing the apple, and she claims that the princess rich enough to support this suffering country. If the Unicorn country's suffering, it's the fault of the citizens. They have no right to blame my princess.
"Princess, I don't care if you execute me for sayin' this, but you're nothing more than a heartless bi-" I cut her off before that rotten apple could finish her sentence. I fired a magic bolt at her, and knocked the wind out of her. I ran up, pointing my horn at her throat.
"Don't you dare talk to the princess like that again. I suggest you leave, before I make you pray for death. I'm in a good mood today, so just get your ugly face out of my sight!" I growled at her.
"Thank you, Twilight." The princess said. I looked back to her and gave a small smile. The pony who's name I think was Applejack, was escorted out by the palace guards.
I woke up to the sound of screaming. I knew it was Sparkler. I ran to her room as fast as I could go. "Princess. Wake up." I shook her gently. She woke up, crying. She saw me and jumped up and wrapped her hooves around me. It broke me to see her cry. All I could do was just hug her back. "Did you have a bad dream again, Princess?" It took her a while to compose herself before she could look at me.
"I wish I could remember these dreams. They seem so horrible." From what I remember, she's been having these dreams for years. I don't know how she could put up with this for so long. Maybe I could take her mind off of it, if only for a little while. I had an idea.
"Princess, why not join me on a trip to the Blue Pegasus country tomorrow? I hear the Princess of the Blue Pegasi will be there." I said, hoping she would say yes.
"Princess Firefly?" She seemed to have a little happiness in her voice. I couldn't help but smile. Her happiness was all I would ever need.
"Get some sleep, princess. We have a big day tomorrow.
"Princess Sparkler, are you sure you'll be okay by yourself?" I was worried. I had to do some shopping, but the princess wanted to go off and look for Princess Firefly. I don't like the idea of her walking around in public. The people don't have a high opinion of her for some reason.
"I'll be fine, Twilight. Besides, you do so much for me already, I don't want to burden you any further." She smiled. I smiled back. She was such a kind and loving filly.
"Princess, at least let me help you blend in." I cast a simple spell on her. She would be disguised as a regular pegasus to everyone, except those that she wanted to see her. "I should take no more than two hours at most, Princess. I'll try to get it done as fast as possible."
As I walked off, I didn't see where I was going, because I was still worried about the princess, and crashed into somepony. "I'm so sorry. I wasn't looking Where I...was...going..." I was stunned. There before me, was the most beautiful mare I've ever seen. She had a butter coloured coat, and pink mane. Her cutie mark was five flowers.
"Oh... umm. I'm sorry." She said in the most lovely voice ever.
"Uhh. N-no it's my f-fault." I couldn't help but stammer like an idiot. "M-my name is Twilight. What's your name? She gently kicked the ground with her hoof, and looked away.
"My name is posmmm..." She trailed off into mumbling.
"I'm sorry what?"
"My name is pmmm..."
"Didn't quite catch that"
She looked away and let out the most adorable squeak ever.
"Well, maybe you'll tell me some other time." I gave her a soft smile. "Maybe we'll see each other again." With that I walked off, but I couldn't get her out of my head. I was beginning to forget all my worries about the princess. I got the shopping done early, and decided to walk around town for a while, hoping to find that cute pony. I did, but she was walking with Princess Firefly, and they looked to be having a good time. I didn't want to interrupt, so I just walked past them, giving a smile to her. Firefly didn't seem to notice. What I saw after a walking for a while broke my heart. Princess Sparkler was on the ground crying.
"PRINCESS! WHAT'S WRONG!?" I ran up to her, worried that someone may have hurt her.
"That bitch, Posey, is what happened." She cried. I was slightly shocked. She never used language like this. She always claimed it was unladylike.
"Princess?"
"Firefly insulted me, and told me I'd never be as good as that tramp she walked off with." So, that pony's name was Posey, and she was going out with Firefly. I didn't know what to do here. I put my hooves around her, but she pushed me away. "Take me home, Twilight. I don't wanna be anywhere near here." Her voice had no emotion behind it.
I was worried. The princess had spent days in her room. She wouldn't even come out to eat. I was at her door, ready to knock, when it opened. Out came Sparkler, but she had a look of anger in her eyes. She only said one thing to me, before walking off.
"We're going to war with the Green Earth Country."
We walked into the chamber of our finest soldier, miss Ditzy Doo.A strange pony. But reliable.
"Hello, Princess." she said not looking up from whatever she was reading.
"Ditzy. I would like for you to look at me, when I'm talking to you." the princess said. Ditzy was one of the few who had the princess' respect, but not all of it. Ditzy just rolled one of her eyes up to look at us. I had to shudder at this. It seemed so unnatural.
"Ditzy, I want for you to make sure that you make sure there are no survivors in this war. Do you understand?"
"Yes princess."
"However I want you to leave the pony known as Posey alive. I want Twilight to be the one to kill her. Is that understood?"
I felt something in me break. I was going to be the one to kill Posey? I don't think I could go through with it.
"P-princess. May I take my leave?" I asked her.
"Of course." She told me. "I'm sure you have plenty to do to be prepared for all this." She smiled.
I walked out of the room, and walked down the hall. Everyone was so busy, that they didn't see that I couldn't stop crying. I wonder though. Why was I crying?
Fire. That's all that surrounded us, as ponies fought. She was right there in front of me, crying her eyes out. I don't think I could bring myself to do it. She was so innocent. She saw me and jumped for me, wrapping her hooves around my body.
"Twilight!!" She was crying. "You're here to help, right?" She looked up, and I saw the most amazing eyes ever. Without hesitation, I lowered her head, and skewered her with my horn. I didn't bother to open my eyes, until I took it out, and turned away from her.
"Dessert is ready, Princess." I told her as I hoofed her her favorite snack, Brioche . As she took a bite, I couldn't help but notice her smile. So innocent. I made me smile to see her happy.
Suddenly a rock flew towards us, breaking the window. I looked outside and saw that the entire city was there. With torches and pitchforks. Revolution. I knew it would come, but I tried to deny it. saw in the front leading them were the Apple pony, and Princess Firefly.
"Princess Sparkler!" I heard the apple pony yell out to us. "You've taken your tyranny too far. We won't stand for this. Your reign as a ruler ends today!"
"Celestia dammit." I cursed.
"Twilight. They're gonna ruin my castle! Can't you stop them?" the Princess asked me.
"Princess. There's nothing I can do. My magic is strong, but it won't stop them." I saw her crying.
"Then what are we gonna do?"
I thought this through. "You're going to run. I'll stay behind and let them take me instead. "
"No! You didn't do anything wrong! Please don't do this!"
I put a hoof over her mouth. "You are the princess. I am your servant. We are sisters who destiny has played a cruel jest on. Even if the whole world goes against you, I'll become the only evil that is on your side."
She was shocked at my words. " Princess. I'm going to cast one spell. Once I use it, it will drain me. I'll never be able to cast another spell again. I want you to use this to escape. Please."
Her tears wouldn't stop. My horn glowed as I was beginning to cast the spell. She tried to stop me, but I held my hoof out to stop her.
When the spell ended, looked exactly like the princess, and she looked like me. "Princess. Go. They're after you. The servants are either running away, or turning against us. They'll think you're me, and let you go. Please."
"But Twilight."
"GO!" I yelled. at her. it hurt to do so, but I need her to live. She didn't say anything. She just turned and ran out the door, crying.
Now I wait.
After an hour, the door was broken down. I saw both Applejack, and Firefly. Applejack ran up, most likely in anger, and bucked me in the head.
"You're such a disrespectful mare." I smiled.
"What you've done is disrespectful." Firefly said. "I will never forgive you for what you did to Posey." Neither could I. "The countries have already decided your punishment. At 3 PM tomorrow, you will be sent to the guillotine."
I didn't care. As long as Sparkler lived.
Left alone in a cell. Nothing to do, no one to see. I kept thinking about how it all happened so quickly. Sparkler was innocent. If anyone was guilty, it was the entire country.
2:44 PM
Ponies from all over came to witness the execution. I didn't care. All my attention was focused on was Sparkler.
"PEOPLE OF YELLOW!" Firefly called out in front of them. "FOR TOO LONG HAVE YOU ALL SUFFERED UNDER THE RULE OF PRINCESS SPARKLER! NOW WATCH AS YOU ALL REGAIN YOUR FREEDOM THIS DAY!!"
I walked up to the guillotine. I took my time. I wanted to keep my eyes on Sparkler as long as I could.
I put my head in the hole and Firefly walked up to me. "I hope you rot in Tartarus."
I had my eyes on the clock, not even paying attention to what she said. The clock struck 3.
"Oh, It's tea time."
And the blade came down.
Sparkler couldn't believe it. Twilight was gone. She couldn't hold back her tears. She saw Applejack and Firefly approaching. She didn't care anymore if they saw through her disguise and killed her, or let her live.
"Hey, You were her servant, right?" Firefly asked. Sparkler nodded, holding back her tears. " Posey told me about you. She said you were a nice pony. I'm sorry you were forced to serve that tyrant." Sparkler nodded again, letting the words sink in. She realized that she had been wrong the entire time. It was all her fault.
"The princess had one request. That we let you go. If she cared that much for one pony, she couldn't be all that bad, and I think it'd be best we respect her dying wishes, even if I don't like it." Applejack said. Her face scrunching up a bit. She was still a little miffed about being blasted and threatened by the servant. Her expression softened, and handed Sparkler a bottle with a note inside. "She wanted us to give this to you. Said you'd know what to do with it.
"I'm outta here. I have to get back home." Firefly said. She flew off, leaving Applejack and Sparkler. Applejack and Sparkler looked at each other, not sure of what to say next.
"I best be going too." Applejack said. However, as she passed, she whispered into Sparkler's ear "Hopefully, you learned your lesson, Princess." Sparkler froze, as Applejack trotted off. She was confused about how she knew, and why she let her go. She looked at the bottle in her hoof. She opened it, and dropped the note out. Unrolling it, she read what it said.
