Caramel has always avoided drawing attention to himself. All he wants is to live his life with as little drama as possible, but that's easier said than done when you live in constant fear of others finding out your deepest secret, something that no pony must never know.

Ponies think they know Caramel, the resident shoemaker and part-time farm hoof, but that's just the mask he wears to hide his real self, because if the mask ever shatters to reveal the truth, society will immediately turn against him and treat him like a monster.

But after falling in love with a pony society dictates he should never fall in romantically in love with, maintaining the mask becomes an even more difficult endeavor.
