You Don't Need to be in Bed To Dream

Chaos

Previous Chapter

It's been so long since I've slept. I can't think straight and I can't even walk. I haven't left my small safe haven for about two to three weeks, I honestly lost count after about 5 days. I've been living off of berries and other plants. I don't know how many plants I've eaten that are considered a poison to ponies. I really don't even care at this point, I just want the pain to stop. I don't want to hurt anymore Innocent ponies anymore.

I caught myself off guard as I was dosing off. I have tried my best to stay awake for as long as possible but I just can't do it. I know it's bad for my mental health but it's for the sake of all of the ponies in Ponyville. I ended up drifting off to sleep in about three hours. I found myself talking to a gunsmith. "I didn't know who he was or how he got there because we don't even have a gunsmith in Ponyville, the only one I know that exists is in Canterl-" I cut my thought short as I realized that I, no; something wanted to kill an important pony.

Everything around me spun around my body in a blurry haze. I suddenly appeared in Princess Celestia's castle. By then I knew what was going on. I was going to kill the Princess in her sleep. All the Royal Guards including Shining Armor had been slaughtered around me. Blood was splattered along the walls from the bullets swiftly passing through the center of their heads. Some of the guards were completely encased in blood and bullet wounds from my high caliber rifle.

It was surprising how the Princess didn't hear the screams of terror and loud explosions of FMJ rounds constantly breaking the sound barrier. I carried on in killing the Princess. I slowly walked up to her with the gun in my hoof. I put the barrel straight to her head and pulled the trigger until I heard three shots leave the chamber. Blood and fragments of her skull were speckled everywhere. It was a horrific sight but for some reason it was satisfying.

I woke up with blood all over my hoofs and face. I screamed in mentally horrified pain. I walked back to Ponyville to turn myself in to Princess Twilight but I couldn't find her. In fact everything was on fire but I hadn't noticed it until I stopped to see if I could find Twilight. Ponyville had gone into complete chaos overnight without Discord seeing as there was no ruler to keep things in order. I ran back to the now only safe haven for anypony in Ponyville which was my cave. I still had the gun with me so I picked it up and returned to Ponyville.

It was terrifying to see the most friendly place in Equestria turn into a complete war zone. Everypony was trying to kill each other. I didn't know what to do. "Should join in on the fun or stay out and keep myself alive?" I tried to get the voice of the demonic entity out of my. It won't stop talking. Why won't it shut up. I need this to stop now I just can't take it anymore. "If you want me to shut up then give me what I deserve." the demon in my head said as I had the gun up to my head. "How can I trust you! Look what you've done! Look at all of the death you are causing. You made me slaughter the Princess for Celestia's sake! Just shut up and get out of my head!" I screamed with tears running down my face.

I was still trying to repel the demon while my hoof was shaking as the gun was now pushed so hard against my skull I began to get a massive headache. I finally made up my mind. I couldn't let this demon live on in my mind; I couldn't let him take over. "I'm sorry every pony... I'm truly sorry. Please forgive me one day." I said with a small voice of pain and sorrow. Those were my last words before I pulled the trigger in order to kill the demon that haunted my soul.

"Hey Ms. Cheerilee, are you felling alright?" asked Apple Bloom in a concerned voice. Ms. Cheerilee turned around with a psychotic smile with a knife in her hoof. "Oh, I'm fine darling." she said as she cut Apple Blooms throat. Cheerilee woke up in a cold sweat with blood on her hoofs but the blood wasn't hers. She trotted down the stairs after she had washed her hoofs. She turned on her TV to try and get her mind off of the nightmare she had. It just so happened to be on the news channel. It said that a foal had been murdered at 2:00 AM while her Cultural Studies class was in session. They described the murderer to have a light purple coat and a multi-color mane with two different shades of purple.
