//-------------------------------------------------------// A Picnic Date -by UTF- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 A dragon waited peacefully by the trees, waiting for her boyfriend. They had arranged a picnic a few days prior. "Hey, Dashie!" The dragon heard someone shout. She obviously knew who that was; there was no other else besides her boyfriend, and sometimes Pinkie, that would call her that. Rainbow Dash turned her head around to see the pony that was her boyfriend. "Hey, Spike!" Spike quickly galloped towards his girlfriend. "Hope I'm not late." Rainbow Dash smiled at him. "Not at all. Come on, have a sit!" Spike quickly sat down. "So, how's your day, Spike?" Rainbow Dash asked as she handed a sandwich to Spike. Spike took the sandwich and took a large bite. "It's alright. Though, I really wished I had hands like you. It's really hard to do anything with these hoofs." "I guess I could understand that. Could you imagine if I was a pegasus?" She giggled. Spike smirked at her. "I see you finally listened to me and don't refer 'pegasus' just as 'pony' anymore. "Yeah, yeah. But that's only because you're the only one that is almost as awesome as me." She took a bite out of her own sandwich. "Y'know, if you told me I was going to date a pony a few years ago, I'd probably say you're crazy." Spike looked at her. "Oh? Why?" "Haven't you heard the stories? Ponies are supposed to be evil and stuff with their powers. Pegasi are said to be able to completely dominate the skies and able to fly speeds up to incredible speeds, but still not as fast as me. Earth ponies are said to be stronger than any foes we have faced! Lastly, unicorns are said to have magic so great, it could destroy entire mountains!" Spike gave Rainbow Dash a weird look. "I'm surprised you actually know all that, with the way how you call Twilight an egghead." "Hey, I can pay attention if I want to!" "I know." Spike took another bite. Hey, Dashie, do you think I'm evil since I'm a pony?" "No, of course not! I can tell you right now that those stories are definitely wrong because you're the best boyfriend I ever had!" "Aren't I the only boyfriend you ever got?" Rainbow glared at him. "Shut up." Spike laughed nervously, hoping it would ease the situation. "So, anyway, is that the reason why I can beat you at arm wrestle? Because I'm a earth pony?" That seemed to have did the trick. Although now that Spike thought about it, it could very well have backfired, with Rainbow's competitive nature. "I'm not sure. You'll have to ask Twilight." There was a few moments of silence as the two finished their sandwiches. "Here." Spike handed Rainbow a cup of cider, which Rainbow gladly accepted. Rainbow Dash quickly gulped the cider down. "Y'know, I can never know how you can drink it so fast and not get drunk." Rainbow smirked. "Oh, it's just that I'm awesome like that." The two giggled. "Hey, Spike, you never actually told me how you moved on from Rarity. I still remember the pony that was totally head over hooves for her." Spike seemed to flinch at the mention of Rarity. "Can we not talk about her? It brings back bad memories." "Oh, now that you said that, you must tell me." She smirked. "Urg, fine but can I tell you over the trip back to the library?" "Alright but you better not run. You know this dragon can catch you anytime, especially now that I'm not a baby dragon anymore. Besides, I could catch you even as a baby dragon." Spike smiled and saluted. "Yes, madam!" "Then come on, let's pack this up and start heading to the library." The packing was done in a few minutes, as they didn't bring too much things along. Rather than starting to head back immediately, the two had a passionate kiss first. The two can't even describe how good of a kisser the other was. The kiss was eventually separated, only a string of saliva connected the two. Using a cloth that seemed to be taken from nowhere, Rainbow quickly wiped it off. Rainbow Dash walked towards Dragonville, where the library was located, for a few steps before she realized that Spike wasn't following her. "Come on, Spike, we don't have all day!" Spike quickly caught up to Rainbow Dash, as much as he didn't want to. "So, go on. Tell your story. I'm a better listener than most dragons think." Spike sighed. "Well, it started like this." Spike stared at the mirror. "Come on, Spike, be a brave pony and ask Rarity out. Yes, you can do this!" With that, Spike trotted out of the library. "Good luck!" He heard Twilight shout. Soon, Spike reached Carousel Boutique, where Rarity resided. Spike raised a hoof to knock but he quickly withdraw it. He started to sweat and thought about if he should turn tail and run. He decided against that idea and raised his hoof again when the door opened, revealing Rarity, who was dressed up like a model. "Oh, hello, Spike. Is there something you need?" The dragon greeted. "Um, h-hi, R-Rarity." "Could you make this quick? I need to be at a place within 30 minutes." "Um, I, um... was wondering where you're going! Yeah, that's it!" Spike gave her a sheepish smile. Rarity smiled at him. "Oh, I got a date with the most dashing dragon you will ever see! Aren't you happy for me? The other girls don't even know yet!" Her smile seemed to grow. Spike's heart practically stopped. "Yea-yeah. I'm very happy for you." He pretended to smile. "Well, if there's nothing else, I must get going. Ta ta!" With that, Rarity flapped her dragon wings and flew away, leaving behind a heartbroken pony. "Ouch, that must have hurt." Rainbow commented. "And it did. But not anymore. It have been a long time and I've moved on since then. I even gotten myself the best girlfriend one can ever get!" Rainbow Dash blushed. "And I've gotten myself the best boyfriend one can ever get." Spike turned his head to look forward. "Hey, look, there's the library." Rainbow looked forward as well. "Oh, hey. You're right. Wow, that story must have taken longer than I thought. So, see you tomorrow?" Spike looked a bit disappointed. "Yeah, see ya." Rainbow looked at him with concern. "Is there something wrong?" "Nothing. It's just, I don't really want to you to leave yet. I know it's late but y'know..." Rainbow Dash smirked. "Is that all? Come on, I'm sure Twilight won't mind me staying for a night. Or a few." Spike looked at Rainbow with a big smile. "Right. Let's go in, I'll show you the guest room." "Oh, are you sure you only want me to sleep in the guest room? And not yours?"
