My name is Glittershell, though that's not the name I was born with, it's the name I chose. I chose it because the name I was born with does not suit me, not the real me anyways. Most of the ponies around me call me Snails, but that's not who I am, that's just who they see. It's all a disguise, a mask that I wear. My friends, the Cutie Mark Crusaders, they're the only ones who know the real me, they're the only ones who have seen behind the mask. Ms. Rarity and Ms. Cheerilee know too. They've all been so supportive, and I am thankful for that. I don't think I could have handled it if they had chosen to reject me, once they learned who I really am.
It's a beautiful Saturday afternoon and the Cutie Mark Crusaders have called a meeting, so I'm heading over to the clubhouse. I didn't think we would have these meetings anymore, now that they have their cutie marks. I'm not sure what they are planning to do now. Maybe we could all just hang out now that they don't have to crusade for their cutiemarks anymore.
"Hey Glittershell," came a voice from right beside me. I jumped in surprise before seeing that it was just Sweetie Belle.
"Oh, hey Sweetie Belle. You scared me," I responded.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. You look like you were deep in thought, is something bothering you?" she asked.
"No, I was just wondering what this meeting was about. I assumed because everyone has their cutie marks that we wouldn't get to have these meetings anymore." I left out the fact that I had cried the night they got their cutie marks because I was certain they would move on without me. Even though the CMC know that I'm not really Snails, they don't know just how fragile I am. I always try to keep my strength up in front of them, I don't want to worry them. Yet somehow, Sweetie always seems to know, like she's reading between my words and hearing the things I don't say.
"We would never forget our friends Glitter," she said, wrapping a hoof around me in a hug. "Besides, we decided that even though we all have our cutie marks now, we always had fun trying to find them. Just because the search is over, doesn't mean we can't continue to have fun."
We continued talking as we walked to the clubhouse at Sweet Apple Acres. Scootaloo and Applebloom were already there and waiting for us
