Sunset shimmer returns to Equestria

It was free period. The Library was rather quiet at this time which was rather strange seeing that exams start next week and then summer vacation starts.  Sunset Shimmer sighed as she checked her journal from a response from princess Twilight. Still nothing. Sunset Shimmer groaned what could that mare be doing ? This isn't a time for her to be ignoring Sunset Shimmer.

Sunset Shimmer found herself thinking a lot about how she misses Equestria, and she's been thinking about returning home. Sunset has been thinking maybe taking a few weeks off from her summer break to go back and see if she does want to go home. If she does she will be upsetting her friends which she doesn't want to do. Sunset Shimmer sighed she just didn't know what to do.

"what should I do?  I have friends here but I'm not from here I still feel like all the unbalancing magic is all my fault . " A hand was suddenly place on the girl's shoulder.

Sunset glanced back, and saw her friend Twilight Sparkle. Sunset smiled as she saw her Twilight would tell her what she should do right? Even though her counterpart looked a lot like the princess herself,  Twilight has been progressing really fast on Certain situations like this.

Twilight Sparkle sat across from Sunset Shimmer at a table near the window  close to the back so the two could talk privately.  Twilight took off her glasses , and cleaned them then put them back on. It was rather quiet for awhile until Twilight broke the silence.

" Ahem,  what was it you wanted to talk about?" She asked while she blushed a little.

Sunset Shimmer sighed, and took a deep breath as she looked at Twilight with a serious look on her face.

"Didn't you also have something you wanted to ask me?" Sunset said. It was then Twilight turned her head away in embarrassment. Twilight gulped. How was she suppose to tell her in a place like this? Although she couldn't keep it in that much longer.

"You first." Twilight said. Sunset shook her head  as a few braids brushed across her eyes , and she blew them out of her face.

“No , you were the one that wanted to meet up here , you should be the one to talk first.”

Sunset said, but Twilight blushed and shook her head. " What about on a count of three we both tell each other what's been on our minds?"  Sunset Shimmer suggested. Twilight just nodded.

"Okay , One...  two... three."

" I have a crush on you."

" I want to go home."

The two girls started at each other both in shock.

"What?" They both said in unison.

The room was silent a cough was heard in the background, and a guy whistled at what he overheard.

"Okay I have been feeling home sick I want to go home Twilight . I miss princess Celestia. She was like a mother to me when I was just a filly.  when I was consumed by darkness I left, and betrayed  her. I feel like I have unfinished business that needs to be taken care of , but um what was it that you said?" Sunset said.

Twilight reached down to her bag and grabbed a what looked like a blue envelope.

" Well, I ... I think you should r... read this when you go home it'll give you time to think."

Twilight said as she stood up  while she placed the letter on the table, and grabbed her bag then stood up, and  watched Sunset open the envelope.

" Don't tell me now, wait until you get back. If you do come back.” Twilight said as she began to cry, and ran out of the library.

"Twilight wait!" Sunset said. What was on her mind?

        Twilight ran through the hallways.  She didn’t glance back to see if Sunset was following her or not but at this point she didn’t care. She told her and now Sunset is heading back home, and she may never see her crush or friend ever again. Twilight found herself outside and stood at the same spot where she was reformed. The words still lingered in the back of her mind.

Take my hand Twilight, let me show you there’s another way.

Twilight never  thought she would make friends that easily. Twilight was always alone and only worried about her education.  She eventually turned her application down to a famous browsing academy, and transferred to CHS so she can learn about friendship instead which changed her life. Sunset Shimmer has changed her for the better. She fell in love with her a few months latter, and now Sunset wants to go back to Equestria. What should I do now?” I already told her and now fate is drifting us apart.”

Twilight said as she fell to the ground near the portal.  Footsteps were heard from behind. Twilight turned around as she saw her.

“ Twilight fate isn’t drifting us apart.  It’s only fear.” Twilight stood up and spun around as she was  pulled in by the taller girl who  kissed her passionately.

“I… I thought you were heading back?” Twilight said with tears in her eyes. Sunset placed her hand on Twilight's cheek, and brushed her stray tears away.

“ I do miss Equestria but , I think I may stick around for awhile although I will go back for a few weeks during summer break.”  Sunset Shimmer said.  Twilight frowned but her mind began to relax as her fears  drifted away and the two embraced  each other.

“ I’ll wait for you when you return.” Twilight said. Sunset smiled.

“I know you will I promise I won’t be gone for long. It’ll only be a few weeks. I promise.”

Sunset said.

The two held each other’s hands. Twilight was wondering  how she  responded so quickly ways she feeling the same way to? Twilight kept that question in the back of her mind as the two just sat down on on the front steps of the school looking at the horse statue where Sunset Shimmer will be departing soon.
