A/N: My first public foray into the land of MLP fanfic. This is also my first Major undertaking as an author, for I intend this to be a fairly long story (At least ten chapters of at least 1,500 words a piece.) At the moment, my plan is to have each chapter written from another character's point-of-view, but that may change in time if I feel that it isn't working out as I envisioned it. This, of course, is merely the prologue for the main story. The next chapter will be longer, and written in the present-tense, instead of this chapter's past-tense style.
This report covers the time my Friends, the two Princesses of Equestria, and I spent while under the influence of an as-of-then unseen effect of the Elements of Harmony. This report concerns matters considered private to all involved, and I would not be entrusting it to you remarkable stallions and mares of the College of Ancient Magic of Equestria if it were not for Princess Celestia's personal assurance that none of you would reveal our secrets. Princess Luna wished for me to add that anyone who betrayed her trust would surely find themselves imprisoned on the nearest celestial body.
In any case, the accounts contained within were extracted directly from the minds of all involved, so the information is completely infallible.
It all started on an ordinary day. My friends and I were meeting for the weekly party (more like a friendly get-together, but Pinkie always insists that they're parties) at the Library, also known as my home. Spike was currently ogling Rarity from the relative safety of he stares, Pinkie was attempting to find anything sweet in my cupboards, (with Spike around? Yeah, right) Rainbow was late, as usual, Fluttershy had just walked in, and Applejack was arguing with Rarity about whether or not Sweetie Belle or Applebloom were the leader of the Cutie Mark Crusaders. (Ugh, the things they argue about sometimes. It's obviously Scootaloo.)
Anyway, the argument only escalated when Rainbow showed up, as she started yelling about some mare who had come onto her, of all people (She's so far in the glass closet, it's dragging the rest of us in with her. Not that there's anything wrong with that.) Then Rarity and Applejack chose that moment to try to tell her this (showing my friend's remarkable ability to be complete idiots), which naturally pissed Dash off. This triggered Fluttershy's tendency to defend her friends to the death, causing her to jump in on Dash's side. This was all completely moronic, but when I tried to explain that to them, they all started in on me! The argument just went on and on until Pinkie started crying, which had the effect of making us all start blaming each other for making her cry. This went on and on until everypony just went home. Naturally, something didn't fell right about going to bed angry at everypony, but I figured I could make up with them tomorrow. It wasn't like anything could go wrong overnight, I remember thinking.
Oh, if I only knew how wrong I was.
Little did I know, the Princesses were embroiled in an argument as well, miles away from Ponyville, over when they should alert the Element-Bearers about how the Elements were behaving. The Elements didn't usually glow for no reason, after all. But, as Princess Celestia reasoned, surely it could wait until morning. It's not like anything could happen overnight, afterall.
