The alarm buzzed, like it did three months ago. Hoops eyes opened slightly, trying to snooze the alarm. He hit the button, but it did not stop. Then he remembered cutting the snooze wire last night, predicting his moves for the first day of school. Hoops got out of bed, rubbed his eyes, then fell onto the floor. He realized his legs had not been used this early for three months. It was 6:10 A.M, and he usually wakes up at 2:30 PM. His eyes wanted to go back to sleep, but he had to keep them alert, because he had to go down the stairs. Hoops walked over to the stairs, he wobbled a bit, then started walking down. He tripped over his own Hoof and fell down the stairs. He hit the cold, hard floor face first. His face was totally enraged at this point. This was going to be the worst day ever.
After eating his plain, bland cereal, Hoops held the stair rail and walked up the stairs. He almost fell again, but managed to make it to the top. His aching legs twitching a bit. He tried to use his wings to get off his legs, but realized he had got them plucked yesterday, and they were unflyable. He fell to the ground after trying to use his wings, clenching his teeth in agony. His bare wings throbbing where the feathers used to be. After a couple minutes, he sat up, still in pain, and continued to get ready for school. Hoops walked over to the bathroom, to figure out his sister was already in there taking a shower. Could this day get any worse?
About 20-25 minutes before the bus came, his sister finally came out. Hoops frantically tried to take a quick shower, but then realized that his sister used all the hot water. But he needed a shower, so he took one in the cold water. It was the worst thing ever. Then he got out and dried off. He brushed his teeth and grabbed a couple mints. Right as he opened the door a paint can poured over his head. His sister started falling over laughing. Hoops didn’t say anything but slam his door in anger, making a painting fall over and smash. His face then turned to a scared took as he hid the broken painting that cost 10,000 bits. He took another shower, then ran out the bathroom door. He didn't bother drying off. He grabbed his backpack and ran outside, realizing he had just missed the bus on it’s last stop.
“Shit” Hoops mumbled in anger as he started running to his school. The water on his fur starting to make him cold. Then, the clouds started rumbling, as rain poured down on Hoops. He tripped on a rock as the rain fell on top of him. Making him smelly and cold. He sat like this for minutes, before getting up, and continuing to run to his school. About, five minutes later the school came into view. Hoops ran inside and sighed a bit. He walked over to his locker, and putting his stuff away. He grabbed his computer and his binder. Then Mr. Crab came over to Hoops. Mr. Crab was the worst teacher in the whole school, he hated Hoops, almost like he was out to get him every day. He said nothing, but look through his notes behind Hoops. Then, he shoved Hoops into his locker, scabbing at his fur, making some blood drip. He put tape over Hoops mouth and shut the door. The locker was so cramped Hoops couldn’t move. He was stuck.
Two hours later, the period ended. Hoops waited, and waited, and waited for someone to notice him. Then, his locker swung open, it was Mr. Crab. He ripped the tape off of Hoops mouth and ripped him out, tearing at his clot skin, causing it to bleed again
“Are you going to turn in your summer essay late again?!” Mr. Crab screamed at Hoops
“N-No M-Mr. Crab.” Hoops stuttered in fear
“Good, NOW GO!” Mr Crab screamed as Hoops grabbed his stuff and trotted away as his blood dripped down the hall. He looked back to see Mr. Crab going through his locker, but Hoops didn't want to mess with him at this point. All that was in there was his wonderbolt posters, and backpack. Hoops hurried into class and sat in his normal desk, right next to the window where the storm was raging on. Hoops always sat here because he sat right next to his crush, Rainbow Dash. Hoops sighed knowing they would never be together. But he liked the thought. Everything was thought to be normal, until, the teacher came in with a filly. The whole class sat in silence

“H-Hi I a-am Winter I-Ice” The blue and white filly stuttered. The whole class said nothing until Burning Blaze started bursting out in laughter. Soon the whole class followed along but Hoops, Rainbow and Lightning Blade. Hoops was just looking at her. Something was, off. He sensed a displacement, some sort of magic inside of her. Something that could not be explained. Then Hoops looked at Rainbow Dash, she was looking at Lightning Blade. Hoops thought she was thinking the same thing, but he could not be sure. Then the filly started tearing up. She was booted off the front area to get into a desk, and the only desk left, was the one behind Hoops. He was sweating thinking she may kill him in any second. He had only ever sensed this magical, “Thing” when he was a colt. A changeling disguised as his dad lived with him for his whole life. Hoops always knew something was up. But couldn't be sure until Hoops got enough information he was a Changeling. Like when his sister turned into a pegasus from a unicorn with a spell to live on clouds. She has the changeling gene. He still loved his dad though. He had trusted this instinct ever since.
The class was, different. Hoops kept his eye out, as to Rainbow. But they never attacked. Never showed any kind of anger to anypony. Though, Hoops also felt kinda bad for her. She was bullied, and not treated well. Then, after doing a bonding activity, they had Homework they could start in class. Hoops put on his playlist, and the first song was Pinkie's brew. It was a great remix by Vinyl Scratch. But while Hoops was listening to his song quietly, when Winter Ice tapped him on the shoulder. Hoops hesitated to turn around, but felt bad for the bullied filly, so he did so anyway.
“I love that song, she is a great remixer” Winter commented.
“W-what?” Hoops stuttered
“Pinkie's brew, it is a great song.” Winter replied. Hoops was confused to how she knew he was listening to that.
“H-How did you know I was listening to that?” Hoops questioned
“I don’t know. I just sensed it.” Winter commented shrugging slightly. At this point, he knew he was right. Something was up. No one could take a guess that good and be right, and have no reason.
“You sure that's all, that's not some weird powers?” Hoops asked in a detective tone.
“No, I don’t think so. Why?” Winter Ice asked.
“No reason… No reason at all” Hoops spinned around, his eyes squinted.
After class Hoops met up with Rainbow Dash. She seemed troubled, and eyeing Lightning Blade. They didn’t say anything. It was an awkward silence until Hoops decided to break it.
“The new filly is re-” Hoops stopped as Winter Ice caught up to them.
“Hello!” Winter Ice said, assuming they were friends. No pony answered at first. Then Rainbow decided to break the silence this time.
“H-Hey W-winter I-Ice.” Rainbow stuttered nervously.
“Howdy! So lunch is next? I love food! I don't get much at home because my parents do not feed me much, so when I do- Your name is Hoops right?” She stopped and pointed at Hoops.
“Y-Yeah, why?” Hoops questioned, was she out to find his dad and return him to there changeling empire?!
“This may sound weird but, I feel like you're holding some sort of, magic” This sentence Winter Ice said made Hoops heart drop, then she pointed to Rainbow “Your Rainbow Dash?”
“Y-Yeah? W-What about me?” Rainbow stuttered nervously
“The same thing, I just feel it in my soul” Winter Ice commented to the two taller ponies.
“I-If you could excuse me, I need to chat with Rainbow” Hoops commented, pulling Rainbow aside.
“Did you see Lightning Blade? He looked, magical” Rainbow whispered.
“Why is this happening, I could feel that feeling in Winter Ice! Something is going wrong, and not your typical Pinkie Pie wrong.” Hoops commented, “But I think I figured out what Winter Ice is, and don’t say a pony.”
“W-what is she?” Rainbow asked a bit fearful.
“She is either, a changeling, or an elemental spirit!” Hoops pulled out a chart from his cutiemark pocket.
“Thats crazy! Your crazy! Lets just, go to lunch.” Rainbow dash shook her head in disbelief.
“Alright, let's go.” Hoops sighed as they walked back to WInter Ice, right after that, Burning Blaze came up to Winter Ice.
“So you have to have two idiot guards to guard you now? What a wimp. Mom's not going to approve of these, FRIENDS.” Burning Blaze mocked Winter Ice, then came over to Hoops, “I see you have gotten your feathers plucked, wimp, I see you are covered in water and wow, your mane is ugly” Then he went over to Rainbow Dash “Braces, eww, looks lik-” Hoops broke loose his hoof, he smacked Burning Blaze in the face.
“I am not friends with Winter Ice!” Hoops screamed “And I am not a guard!” Hoops stormed down the hallway, he threw his stuff in his locker and then kicked it closed as hard as he could, making a huge dent where he did the blow. This caused Winter Ice to cry, as Burning Blaze laughed evilly. Rainbow noticed this and started walking to the lunch room
“He doesn't mean it, he is just, having a bad day.” Rainbow assured Winter Ice, who was still crying. “Let's get some food. Its Hay Burgers!”
“Y-y-yay” Winter Stuttered, clearing her tears. When they got to Cafeteria, Hoops had already sat down is his usual area, the one he sat in last school year. He was eating, a scowl on his face, usually, he waits for Rainbow before eating, but not today. Rainbow waited in line, and waited, and waited. Then, she finally got her food, as well as Winter Ice. They walked over to Hoops table, he took a look at them and muttered, “Sorry”
“It’s fine. I am guessing you have a short temper?” Winter questioned.
“That, and I have been hav-” Hoops stopped as Burning Blaze sat at there table. Shit was about to go down. At first nopony said anything. It was quiet, until Burning Blazes friends sat down with him.
“Whats up with you, why you such a shit face, midget” Rainbow broke the silence, and Burning Blaze looked enraged.
“At least I have the decency to brush my teeth, braces” Burning Blaze insulted Rainbow, even though, it was not that good of an insult. Then, out of nowhere, Hoops started punching him in the head, he had snuck up behind him. He punched and he punched, until Burning blaze was knocked up, his head swollen and a bit of blood coming out.
“Who is the wimp now.” Hoops commented, as Blazes friends ran away. Hoops moved Burning Blaze to the nurse’s office. The nurse was not there, so nopony knew what Hoops had did. The day ended quickly after that, the last class was Geometry, and the class just did a rice activity. Hoops trotted home, his wet matted mane in knots, Hoops did his homework, then watched TV with his changeling dad. Right then, It happened, everything everypony who knew Hoops dad was a changeling, Hoops turned into his true changeling form.
