//-------------------------------------------------------// Civil War Equestria -by Godziilapony- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Leaders //-------------------------------------------------------// Leaders Cadance It has begun, the bloodshed has started. The change is harsh but necessary, Blueblood is a fool. The ruler of Equestria has always been an alicorn and such I am and the most powerful one there ever has been. The only claim Blueblood has to the throne is that he is older than me, but not much older. The only basis he has for being ruler is foolish tradition. He cannot raise the sun or moon, he cannot protect the land from invaders. Equestria needs a protector, not an aristocrat. I have turned away armies with the swish of my tail. He has only managed to turn away women. While he spent his days chasing women and attending parties, I was training to protect Equestria. Some say this war is destruction, all I can say is that I am saving Equestria from disaster under Blueblood’s rule. So I shall fight, until all of my troops are dead and my body is layed in the ground. I shall end these foolish traditions. For Equestria! Blueblood So, the war has started. Death, shall come. What a shame, but it must happen. These pointless traditions must be removed. Why should an alicorn rule Equestria? Any type of  pony could do it just as well. Equestria needs a leader, not a warrior. Why should we drive off the Changelings and Diamond Dogs, they would be valuable allies. Cadance spent all her time learning to battle, she never learned the art of politics. So, as I look out on the battle, I know I am protecting Equestria from further war under Cadance and burying pointless tradition. I shall bring in an age of diplomacy or I will die trying. For Equestria! //-------------------------------------------------------// Death //-------------------------------------------------------// Death Death is everywhere. See my best friend lying dead next to my wife’s body. I don’t know where my son is. Everywhere I look I see death. A pegasus body falls from the sky, landing on what was once my wife. Yet, I don’t care. I am not scared, like the many who are hiding. Neither am I sorrowful like those who weep. Nor am I enraged like those with blood stained hooves or horns. No, I do not care. Why should I care? All I have ever loved is gone. When I joined Cadance’s army I heard words about change and preventing destruction under Blueblood from happening. I see a change, but not a good one. I see destruction, but not the prevention of it. But, I still don’t care, I don’t care about anything anymore. I want to feel death’s warm embrace. So, as I walk to the middle of the field to face certain death, I am content. No one will care that I have died. Wait! The sounds of destruction have stopped, the battle is over. Yet, it does not matter, another will soon begin. Alas, my religion prevents me from the destruction of my own body at my hooves. But next battle, I will perish and it will be the last thing I do. //-------------------------------------------------------// Innocence Lost //-------------------------------------------------------// Innocence Lost Mommy... Daddy... Why aren’t they moving. Why is no pony moving? Miss Lily, Mommy, Daddy. None of them are moving. “Ugh” What’s that, somepony made a sound. Yeah! Maybe everyone will wake up now. The pony that made the sound has a big cut on his chest, the pony that came in here must have given him that. “Little filly, are you okay?” the man asks me. I tell him “I’m okay, but when will mommy and daddy wake up?” “They won’t” he says.”your mom and dad are dead and so is everypony else.”  I don’t understand, the only thing I’ve seen die is my goldfish and that wasn’t anypony’s fault, but this man killed them, I never thought mommy and daddy would die like my fish or that ponies made other ponies die. I’m so confused. Then suddenly, the other pony went”Ugh” and stopped moving. I knew he died too. Have other ponies died before? //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue War... Equestria has never seen the like. Until today. Blood, on every field from Canterlot to Trottingham.  Equestria will never be the same. It started with a will. Not just any will though, the will of Princess Luna. It stated where all her belongings would go. Except, her most valuable possession, the throne of Equestria. Now that she was dead there had to be a ruler, but who? The obvious answer was one of the princes or princesses. The eldest one was thereby the choice but there was one issue, he wasn’t an alicorn. He wasn’t even a powerful unicorn. He was Blueblood. However, others argued he was inadequate saying that the obvious choice was the most powerful alicorn ever, Cadance. The argument raged on people choosing sides. Large demonstrations. There was talk of an election, but both sides thought the other would cheat, the anger grew. Then,l one pony fired a shot and it began, violent riots and skirmishes at first until an official civil war began. Now we stand here today, weapons raised against one another. Nothing is sure from now on other than that nothing can ever be the same. Its amazing really, 600 years of technology since Cadance was married and all of it is being used to fight. Airplanes designed to carry earth ponies and unicorns to Cloudsdale and Las Pegasus are now being used to destroy those same cities. The technology behind magic driven carts and plows, originally for farming use is now being used in tanks to burn towns and farms. I wonder what the inventor of these technologies would think, Twilight Sparkle would never have killed a pony. Though, I doubt she will ever know. Some think that if the Elements of Harmony were still alive this wouldn’t have happened, but I doubt that. The battle for the throne has turned even the kindest of ponies into monsters. This war will change everyone and everything. By the end will we even be ponies anymore. But, I will not live to see that, for these are the last thoughts of a dying soldier.
