Blood littered across the streets of the large town, the stench of iron filled everyone's noses, unable to avoid the smell. The earth shook as their enemies invaded wall Rose, one by one they watched as their friends were eaten, screaming in terror as death came upon them in mere seconds. Fear pumped through their veins, knowing they must continue the fight but also losing the will to do so with every death followed.

None of them there were experienced soldiers, only a couple out of the few here had actually seen a Titan. They had never encountered one, escaped one, or even killed one. They were fresh from training and were being brought down as if those years of hard work was nothing.

It hit everyone hard thinking about how difficult it was to train as soldiers, most hadn't even signed up for this and yet were forced to go anyways. There were too many of them, and they had little gas as it is, and all believed they had very little time left to live. None of them wanted to die this way, not being remembered and never knowing what it's like to experience a real life.

But here they were, struggling to survive as they encountered Titans of many kinds. They faced fifteen meters, five meters, abnormals, it was more than they could ever possibly handle, especially with them all in groups of three or five. Some couldn't take it anymore and began to retreat in complete shock and fear, but any attempt was futile as the Titans were everywhere now.

This was pure hell, all anyone could do was pray or cry out in anguish. More were dying by the minute and there was nothing they could do to save them without being devoured themselves. Why was it like this? Why do these creatures eat them? What on earth could their purpose be?

Jeans brow was soaked in the sweat dripping from his skin, his heart beat hard against his bones, the sound echoing in his head. His fingers moved shakily as he changed the digits of his 3DMG, letting out a curse as a Titan tried to grab onto him. As he passed by, he clenched his eyes shut as he heard one of the people behind him calling for help but unable to find himself turning around to help them.

Jean was unsure of who was still alive, they had scattered when the son of a bitch went wild after the Titan that ate Thomas and everyone lost contact with each other. All he knew at the moment was that Marco, Annie, Bertholdt, Reiner, and some other man he couldn't recall his name for he never tried to know him. All he did know was that he was a dear friend of Bertholdt and Reiner's, the four had always been together as a group, never separating unless necessary.

Annie didn't seem to pay much heed to him though, she even said her disliking for him even though he was her friend. Annie believed him to be annoying, a pervert, and a complete idiot. Bertholdt and Reiner seemed to see him as a brother and enjoyed being around him twenty four seven.

Now was not the time to think about them though, he had to focus on staying alive or else he'll become food in the next second.

"Jean! There are three coming straight for us!" Called Marco, alerting Jean who caught sight of the Titans he was talking about.

A growl escaped Jeans throat before he grit his teeth and shouted behind him.

"Let's try and avoid them! If you can find a way to kill the damned beasts!" Jean commanded, the others responding with a salute. Jean peeked behind him to watch as they followed him, unknowing if this was the right choice for survival.

Two of them were ten meters and one was a three meter, all of their heads turned to look at them as they approached. Jean threw his feet in the air as he triggered his 3DMG, sending him in between the fingers of the ten meter in front of him. He then spun around, his blades held to his sides as the metal cut off the large fingers.

Jean then had to dodge the three meter as it jumped up for him, almost snapping at his leg to which he thankfully pulled up and flew high above before it could even get close. After he avoided those two, he glanced back to thankfully see that all of those who were following him still alive and right behind him. When Jean looked back he gasped as he saw one of their friends by the name Mina on the ground, a Titan had just tugged on the wires of her maneuver gear and she went plummeting down with a Yelp.

"That's Mina!" The friend of Reiner rasped, Jean quickly pushing himself to go faster in order to save her. He wasn't much of a friend to her either, but he did know her somewhat and she was still a comrad.

"I'll grab Mina! You two try to get at the Titans neck!" Reiner commanded, the others nodding to him as he set fourth to it. The Titan wasn't as large as the others, it was in between either a ten or twelve meter, it's eyes were extremely large to the point of bulging out from their sockets.

Reiner came to it and quickly disposed it of its fingers, Mina crying out as she began to fall but was quickly caught again by Jean. Reiner had been about to kill the Titan, when another was behind and jumped after him, causing him to flail and fall onto a roof. The others called out to him but he seemed to be fine as he got back up, only seeming to have a small injury and blood staining one side of his face.

"I'm alright! Keep going!" Reiner called back, getting back to following them just behind.

"Help!" Voices came from below, the soldiers halting from the voice. When they were called out to fight the Titans back so the people had time to get out, apparently some were too late and were stuck with Titans surrounding.

They hadn't come across any yet, most likely all were dead for no one without 3DMG or a horse could outrun a Titan. This was the first survivor they heard, and they could tell it was not one of their comrades as the voice was too mature to be one. Jean couldn't see the person yet, but he had to act, despite the fear and racing of his heart he had to do this.

Jean followed as the others turned around to head towards the sound, back over where they saved Mina.

"Somebody please help!" The voice called again, Jean feeling some sort of dread as the sound came as strangely familiar to him.

There was that Titan again, it's fingers still healing and the other that had snapped at Reiner was right next to it, standing at the same height. That's when everything froze, Jeans blood ran as cold as ice, his heart skipping a beat and the breath robbed from him. From the distance they were at, they could finally make out who was calling out for help.

Jean couldn't believe this was happening, of all people to not get transferred out of wall rose in time it had to be her.

"Mom!" Jean called out in alarm, pushing his digits faster and zooming past the others, they reaching out and calling for him to wait.

Jeans mother was now strangling in the hold of the two titans, the large eyed one holding her chest while the other had her waist. They seemed to be tugging on her, his mother screaming out in horror and pain at being stretched so. Jean didn't care what happened to him at the moment, he was completely lost of any thought as he pushed himself to go faster and faster, completely discarding the fact that they were already running out of gas rather quickly.

"Mom!" Jean gasped in complete panic as the Titans heads leaned forward, jaws stained in blood that dripped down on their chests opening wide.

"J-j-Jean!? Jean please! Help me!" She cried out helplessly, unwanted tears of fear falling from her eyes. He had never seen her look so afraid before, and the sounds of pain seemed to thrash at Jeans heart.

He was almost there, just a bit closer and he would be able to snatch her up from those lumps of filth. He didn't realize it till he felt the world twirling around him, suddenly yelling out as he began to fall, his hands pulling on the triggers of his gear but nothing happened.

"Come on, come on! Not now!" Jean growled, his tanks completely out of gas from his sudden sprint through the air. Soon he came in contact with the hard plates of a roof, groaning in pain as his side throbbed. He quickly threw his pain to the side and looked up to see his mom cry out, immediately he crawled forward, hand reaching out.

"Okaasan!!" Jean cried out, unable to do anything as all he could do now was watch as in an instant, both Titans chomped down onto her. The sickening sound of bones cracking filled his ears, blood raining from the body that was being ripped in half, swallowed and to rot in the their stomachs.

Jean couldn't say anything, only stare in complete shock and disbelief. This had to all be a dream, it had to be. He had assured himself that she would be fine, that the witch would be okay and he would have to continue to hear her embarrassing comments about him. This couldn't be right, how could she be dead, why was she here?

It was hard to accept what he just saw, he couldn't move as his body was completely stiff and his brain was processing the reality of the situation. One tear fell from his eye and his fingers clenched in his palm, his head lowering as he moved to a sitting position, looking down in his lap. Something was telling him to move, to get away and find a safe place to hide from the Titans in front of him.

But he couldn't, not after what he just saw. The Titan that bit off the top side of his mother gulped audibly, it's head slowly turning to look at him, it's filthy face now covered with splats of his now dead mothers blood.

What was this? Why did this have to happen? Jean thought in his head, his arms shaking as he glanced at the blood that fell on his hand. Both Titans began to approach him, needing to only take three steps and their faces were right there, completely emotionless and blank, despite the smile one held on it they were completely cold.

Within the few seconds, suddenly memories came falling back to him. It wasn't good times with his mother, but it was of him and all the times he had slammed the door on her, calling her names and kicking her out of his life. It was hard to believe, but it was true. She was gone permanently.

"Please be careful Jean boy." A flashback of when he had been about to leave to fight back the Titans as the walls had been brought down. "I love you...." She had whispered with tears glistening in her orbs.

He hadn't said anything back, just groaning and walking off. He had seen the worry and pain in her eyes as he left her. Not one hug, not one goodbye he just left without another thought about her.

Jean had never blinked an eye or given it a small thought when it came to his mother or how rudely he treated her. He had been tired of being treated like a helpless little boy that was crazy for his moms food. But in this sudden moment of watching her die, seeing the life disappear in a flash, regret and pain hit him hard.

  "Okaasan........"

"Jean run!" The others called to him, one he could see from the corner of his eye running towards him.

Instead of listening to the voices he looked into those of the one who just ate his mother, those bulging eyes set directly one him, mouth opening. His insides began to twist, feeling ready to vomit as he could see saliva and blood still in the Titans mouth, his eyes catching sight of his mother's head, caught in two of the molars.

There was no life in her eyes, he couldn't even recognize her. Jean couldn't seem to register the Titans presence anymore as he starred at her bodyless form. Once again she was there, smiling at him and waving as he left for training, but that all disappeared and now all that was left of her was bits and pieces.

The Titan was ready to chomp down on him, he could feel death approaching his door. Stuck in a comatose of shock, he couldn't move and some part didn't want to. The other half wanted him to fight and kill this damned beast that killed his one and only parent, to spill it's filth and rip it open into shreds.

It happened in a big flash, he had snapped out of it as he was suddenly hit with a force, falling to the side and grunting at the contact. Jean blinked several times before glancing down to see the man who was a great friend of Reiner and Bertoldt standing in his place, screaming out as the jaws that had been about to devour him had now snapped onto him, a leg and arm flying.

"Logan!" Reiner called out in despair, stopping right in front of the Titan and bringing out his swords.

Reiner had been about to slice at the Titan, but it suddenly took two quick steps back, seeming to sway back and fourth.

"No....." Bertholdt rasped, just landing next to Reiner.

"He's dead....." Reiner replied quietly in horror. He had been like family to him, and to see that happen hurt deeply for the two, even Annie was heart broken at the scene, although she hid it.

Jean quickly stood up, clutching to his side and hissing from the pain. He walked over to the edge and glanced at Reiner and Bertholdt. Did that really happen again?

"I'm sorry....." Jean whispered, reaching a shaky hand to wipe at the sweat on his forehead.

Reiner grit his teeth and took in a deep breath before turning and walking away.

"There's nothing we can do about it now. Come! We need to get away from here! More Titans are approaching." Reiner suddenly commanded, the pain of loss still in his eyes but the strong man held it back in order to focus.

"What about Jean? His gear is out of gass?" Annie asked blankly, briefly glancing at him.

"Have Bert carry him. Are you okay with that?" Reiner asked the taller man who nodded before going to get Jean.

Suddenly, the Titan fell to the ground, making the others look down with confusion with what just happened.

"Why did it collapse?" Marco questioned, coming to get a closer look.

"It doesn't matter!" Reiner interrupted, "we need to go now!"

"Come on Jean, hurry up and get on my back!" Berthing quickly ordered the man who was starting down at the now softly steaming form.

Did the Titan that just consumed both his mother and a comrad die? Did someone kill it? That was impossible for no one was around but them and none of them currently there had gone to kill it, not even him. The other smiling Titan that had been with the one now collapsed, suddenly turned its attention from them, looking down at the fallen Titan and making a strange gargling sound.

"Guys come on!" Reiner called out in frustration, tugging on the shirt of Marco who was squinting his eyes at something.

"Hold on Reiner!" Marco called back, his arm reaching out and pointing towards the neck of the downed Titan. "What is that?"

Reiner made an exchanged glance with Annie and Bertholdt, both having a similar expression to the one he had.

"Is that a....." Marco began, the others eyes widening as the form of a human emerged from the neck of the Titan, the other beginning to kneel down, making more strange alien sounds to what could sound eager or rushed. "Human?...." Marco exclaimed, not believing what was in front of him.

"I don't know what it is." Annie suddenly said, gaining the others attention. "But whatever it is it's obviously not anything good."

"But why is a human coming from a Titan? And alive?" Jean questioned back.

"It could be a trick Jean. Reiner is right we need to go." Annie said with sternness in her voice, her hand pointing beyond them. "More Titans are coming for us, and in big numbers, if we don't get going now we'll be surrounded and all die here and now."

"What if it's not?" Marco asked, not getting and answer back.

"You can't be sure of that, we still know nothing of Titans." Reiner said back.

"Well we have to do something." Marco mumbled, suddenly hitting the trigger of his maneuver gear and heading towards the Titan going towards to what it looked like eat whatever had come out of the others neck.

"Marco wait on a second!" Bertholdt tried to convince but Marco already had his blades drawn and at the ready as he flew around to the Titans back and came crashing down with his swords, letting out a grunt as he made contact. His swords cut a large piece of the flesh, the Titan throwing an arm back before very soon collapsing.

Jean didn't know what was going on or why, but he found himself starring down at the form that emerged from the Titan, unable to make out everything as smoke blurred their vision of it. They saw Marco go down to the ground, the sound of his maneuver gear coming to a halt as he ran up the assumed dead Titan body.

After a few seconds of silence Marco called up to them, Reiner being the one to come down and help. The others just watched as Reiner and Marco seemed to struggle with the the figure. Soon afterwards they heard the sound of gear before four hooks dug into the wall of the house they stood upon then Reiner and Marco came up.

Everyone came close as Reiner was holding the figure in his arms, Marco's jacket gone and around the chest of the person. Everyone didn't know what they were seeing, and were deeply confused at what just happened, wishing they knew what the hell was going on.

From the Titan that had fallen, an unconscious young woman was now in Reiners arms, completely bare with no clothing and had just emerged from said Titan.

"Is that....a real human?" Asked Marco, both him and Jean examining the woman, the only thing covering her was the jacket Marco had given up, placed on her chest and the sleeve covering the spot between her legs that were crossed somewhat.

Her head was fallen back, her hair a long dark brunette color and from what they could see she had messy bangs along her forehead, stuck to her face from sweat. She was completely limp, unconscious as Reiner adjusted her in his arms.

"Now that we have....her....lets get going, we've waisted enough time as it is." Reiner commanded, going over to Annie and handling the girl over. Despite being short, Annie was strong and had very little struggle when holding her.

"With Jean out of gass and the extra weight from this person it's gonna be harder to get to the regiment facility along with killing the Titans around it. So no more dilly dally." With that Reiner flew off, Bertholdt grabbing Jean as the others began to follow.

  "Fuck...."
