chapter 1 - into the everfree
an hour past before twilight was able to group with her friend the only problem was only Applejack and Fluttershy where the only two who showed up .Spike! twilight yelled where is everyone Spike looked at the floor in embarrassment well pinkie was helping Mrs cake with the twins , rarity threw a slipper at me and went back to sleep and im not sure if you know this Twilight but rainbow dash lives in a house made of clouds that just a little out of my reach . everyone was stunned by spikes angry outburst Spike quickly apologized twilight realized he was tired and sent him home to rest then began the walk into the ever free forest . sometime pass before anyone says a word the one to break the silence would be Applejack so um twi exactly what was it you saw Twilight responds with a sigh it was a light in the forest coming for near the castle and Applejack interrupted abruptly . say no more i got it Twilight looked stunned . umm okay then! oh don't be so surprised Twi- we've been thru a lot since y'all came to town aint that right Fluttershy oh yes many scary things and we've gotten thru them one way or another , she recalled all the times she and her friends dealt with danger and for one reason or another they came out triumphant . Applejack chuckled exactly so if I gotta lose a little sleep so we can get rid of something bad before it happens then by all means lets get it done. Twilight looked at her friends she felt confident that what they were doing was a right call if only she knew the truth oh what this night would bring . The three friends walk for several miles nearing the old castle upon seeing the bridge they they heard howling coming from the forest west of them , Timber wolves! Fluttershy cried out Twilight gave a shhh they might not have noticed us they could just be... the howling grew louder the clouds swept past the moon the light going dim the road leading back to town Fluttershy gave a light eaaaak ! when Applejack gave a yell, come on yall best cross now we'll stand a better chance ... but it was to late the wolf pack already within a click of the friends Twilight thought of a spell to protect her friends but everything she thought of would take some time and there was no time not at the distance the wolves were she looked at her friends Fluttershy stood shaken but she wouldn't leave her friends to fight alone , Applejack tightened her hat on her head ready for a good fight and Twilight's horn glowed they were in one way or another ready for what was to come, or rather they would have been the wolves passed the group by whimpering and barking as they ran what in tarnation was that all about! Applejack remarked Im not sure but im glad we don't have to deal with them right Fluttershy . Twilight turned her head to find Fluttershy standing stiff as a statue in the canterlot garden , Applejack tried to wake her from her stiffen state Twilight walked near the road where the timber wolves had just came from as she approached she heard a splash she jumped back toward her friends did you hear that hear what Twi- ... another splash louder than the first interrupted the conversation Twilight slowly moved toward the location of the splash Applejack called out to tell twilight to stop but its probably what we're here for I know twi- but whatever it is just scared the daylight out of a pack of Timber wolves and Fluttershy can barley move maybe be we should head back and wait for the others but what about ending this before it starts Fluttershy regained her composure to some degree shes right Applejack she moved closer to her friends but your also right so maybe we should take a peek to see what we're up against Applejack gave a sigh alright then but first sign of trouble and we head Fluttershy and Twilight both nodded in agreement all right come on y'all lets get to it. they walked for several yards nearing a large pond the group approached slowly Twilight whispered to her friends this must be the place I dont see no-thin here twi- what do you think! Fluttershy moved closer to the pond as Applejack and Twilight tried to solve the mystery of what made the splash but as it so happens it was dear Fluttershy who solved this mystery as Fluttershy approached the pond and looked into its watery depths she saw a figure below the water she gasped and jumped back Twilight and Applejack rushed to her side what is it sugar-cube I...I saw something in the pond Applejack and twilight looked into the pond and saw nothing they both turned and looked at Fluttershy there's nothing there yeah maybe you saw ... it was at that moment the friends heard a bubbling sound from the far side of the pond and from the watery depths a creature emerged and form its mouth it let out a howl unlike any found in the everfree the friends could only stand in terror at the creature wondering what it is and why its was here
Dear twilight sparkle its been a week since the earthquakes have been frequently happening im writing to you as a way to assess any damage to near by towns and settlements. I'm sure these earthquakes will stop soon but you and your friends should still be careful i sense their is more to these quakes than what we are currently seeing please you and your friends be safe sincerely Princess Celestia.
Twilight puts down the letter on the nightstand next to her bed taking in what shes just read it sounds like she knows something to me Twilight ,Spike said twilight responds oh Spike shes just worried for us spike sighs alright so can we go back to sleep its late twilight begins to yawn sure spike lets ... the castle begins to shake spike spring from his beds and hide under a table in the room Twilight jumped out of bed to join him but stopped to look out her balcony to look at the ever free forest far inside the forest twilight saw a dim light near the ruins of Celestia and Luna's old castle . Spike called out for twilight what are you doing Twi- what are you doing duck and cover! he yelled Twilight responded I don't think these are quakes Spike I think its something else . moments later the shaking stopped spike crawled out from under the table and rushed to twilight's side twilight looks at spike and tell him , spike we need to gather everyone right now! Spike look at twilight but its the middle of the night twilight looked back where she saw the source of the light her eyes determined I know spike but ... im not going to let ponyville fall victim to another catastrophic event cause i didn't act in time. she walked out of her bedroom and down the hall spike fallowing behind before exiting the castle she told spike were going to stop this before it begins .
