Fluttershy ambled down the dirt path behind the cottage to her shack; it was barely visible, covered by the fog and thick green shrubbery of the woods most ponies wouldn’t dare to stumble into. She walked; only hearing her clefts hit the soft ground and a mind that couldn’t be silenced. This is where the dirt path ends. The pale yellow pony stepped off the walkway and into the grass; the brisk morning dew wet her hooves, sending a shiver down her spine. She could see the old shed. It was the former owners of her cottage that made it. When she first moved in, there was a bunch of dusty hoses and gardening tools inside, nopony wanted the property because of how close it is to the Everfree Forest. So it had been derelict for at least 8 years. The outer walls of the shed were veined with green streaks of moss, intertwining with the moist, rotting, wooden panels. She could smell decay, the rot emit a potent musty odor, that made her slightly dizzy, she’s generally used to the feeling by now, though.
“--cough, cough—“
She quickly turned around only to see the curly haired, pink pony known as Pinkie Pie. Her bright blue eyes were as big as ever, and looked straight through Fluttershy. Suddenly she felt abashed and hid behind her mane.
“H-hello Pinkie.. What are you doing all the way down here, near the Everfree nonetheless??”
Pinkie cocked her head in confusion, her fluffy ears and mane giving way to the sudden motion.
“To find you of course!” Pinkie giggled. She spun around and started bouncing back from where (Fluttershy assumed) she had came. “Are you coming?” She yelled from a distance, crows got spooked behind Fluttershy and flew away in a disgruntled mess of caws and ebony feathers.
Fluttershy nodded and smiled politely, even though she had no idea what her friend was planning, then followed after the aloof pink pony.
Not a minute later she heard wings flapping. Fluttershy looked over her shoulder to see the flock of birds settled on the ground once again, all seemingly leering at her expectantly.
“I’ll feed you when I get back,” she whispers, “I promise.”
