Arc I "The Pale Mask": It's a few years after the mane six befriended Starlight Glimmer (The CMC are of legal age now), and things are running relatively smoothly in the town known as ponyville. But after a party to welcome the season of Nightmare Night, the castle becomes the target of strange activity. Minor annoyances prelude greater events, and soon Twilight and Spike each take action to handle the situation in their own way. All the while, questions hang in the air. What lingers amongst the shelves? What watches from the corners? What stands just behind you only to disappear when you turn to look? What hides in the closet, ready to bite into it's next victim? What is underneath the bed, ready to rip into you with it's sharp claws? What is outside, ready to open the window and pounce at it's prey? What is in the vents, ready to drag the unfortunate soul that crosses? What does it want, and why does it want to be alone?

If anyone asks, yes, this is my tribute to Pen Stroke's Haunting Nightmare, but with some new twists as you will see.
