Spike woke up and yawned. He would have to start another normal and boring day. He climbed out of bed and picked up the latest book in the Dragon Kingdom series. He blindly waddled down the castle stairs and read the book with a bowl of gems in his lap. (That castle bit was kind of new though)

He sat the book down and began to stuff his cheeks with gems. Small gem shards fell to the floor as he did so. He licked his lips delightfully.

Princess Twilight Sparkle trotted into the room and saw the mess that littered her once clean floor. She stared in a captivated horror. Her eyes glared at Spike with pure hatred.

"Why did you make such a mess!" She asked in a confused and stern way, "you'd better clean this up before my friends get here." She walked away angrily.

Spike, ignored her and left the room also. He opened the front doors to the castle and took a whiff of the fresh air. He stepped out onto the dirt road and walked away. His left claw in midair making a fist with a certain finger poking out.

His journey to particularly nowhere ended when he saw Rarity trotting happily towards him. He put is claw down before she saw him. He then began to wave vigorously and smiled.

"Good morning Spikie dear!" The white unicorn said with a smile, "I'm so glad I caught up with you today."

"Why?" Was his only word to her. The mare's beauty made it hard to speak. She seemed so happy yet as though she had something on her mind.

"Well I won't be able to make it to Twilight's today, I need to go the Canterlot to help Sassy Saddles with the flood of ponies wanting cloths." The mare's eyes gave off a sad glow.

"I'll try and get word to Twilight." That was a lie of course, he wasn't going back there, for ANYTHING.

Rarity smiled and planted a kiss on his forehead. She walked away after telling him thank you and inviting him to dinner at the carousel boutique on Monday. He did a weird little strut as he continued walking.

He looked at the sky and saw Rainbow Dash flying over head. She zoomed past him without even taking notice of anything. She wanted really cool like she made herself to be. (Why did I just write that?)

He then got an amazing idea! He ran to the train station and got a ticket to Canterlot...wait Rarity would be there...Well if he could avoid her he'd be fine. So he went to Canterlot!

And that's where it happened, that's where he became a hero!

Canterlot was a quite little town. Most ponies were very important and proper like Rarity. They all had a lot of money, not as much as the princesses but they had some nice stacks of cash just the same.

It was the princesses Spike wanted to see. He wanted to ask Celestia to grant him the most amazing thing in the world! Popularity, it was always believed that a popular pony was gifted by the gods and was there for loved by all. And he wanted some of that, and of course that's why he as shocked by Celestia's reply.

"What do you mean no?" He asked in astonishment.

"If I do it for you'd I'd have to do it for everypony." The tall white alicorn said trying to smiled elegantly. But Spike knew what she really wanted.

"I'll love you!" He said as he grabbed her hoof and began kissing it.

"Unhoof me you mortal dragon!" She screamed as she took her hoof away from his dragon germs. (Do dragons have germs?)

"You don't want love?" Asked the puny dragon to the tall immortal alicorn.

"Uhg." Celestia rolled her eyes, "I'll make you popular if you get me some cake from the castle pantry."

Spike jumped for joy and ran down the hall into...a maze of more halls...

After a while he found the cake in the pantry! It was an amazingly beautiful cake. It was tall and white and unlike the princess, delicious looking. He was tempted to eat it but stop in mid bite when he saw two masked ponies!

He ducked under the table and watched in horror as the two masked unicorns used magic to levitate the cake towards them! Spike jumped from under the table and onto the back of one of the thieves. He (the thief) bucked him off and they prepared to leave with the cake. Spike grabbed a sack of flower, ran in front of them and tossed it at the duo.

It hit the two in the faces and the flower rendered them blind for the brief moment. So he used the empty sack and put it over their heads. He then found a rope conveniently placed in the room to tie them up. He then took the cake and the thieves to Celestia.

"Thank you so much Spike!" The princess took the cake. The guards then came and got the thieves, after a bit, Rarity ran into the room and kissed Spike hard on the lips several times.

"Your a hero Spikie!" She picked him up and insisted on snuggling him.

"No problem Rarity." He smiled.

They next day, Spike was awarded with military honors that Shinning Armour could only dream of!

Author's Note

This DEFINITELY took longer then I expected. Who knew 30minutes could turn into 12 hours in a flash?

I guess that's my fault...for instance:

1. My favorite story had a BUNCH of new chapters I hadn't read yet.
   
2. Lost my muse for a bit there and gained writer's block.
   
3. Chatting with my best friends.
   
4. DINNER (I started writing this at 4:45 and dinner is about 5:30!)

I fill like Spongebob when he had to write that essay.
