"Our world is ending, as you all very well know" A gruff minute voice reminded the other people that occupied the room.
They all watched him tentatively, their watchful faces hoping for anything interesting to abound.
"And with program Cast-out's rogue and hostile behavior, our sources have been greatly limited." this earned anxious whispers and glances from the crowd of about a dozen scientists.
"We've managed to detour their scouts- they think our station is currently being held in a secluded section of Utah. Even though that's quit the ways away from New York, I highly doubt that it'll take more than a few months for them to sniff us out. Although, by then it may be too late..."
More anxious, louder whispers encompassed the room.
The scientist held up his hand for silence. The attention quickly settled back on him, as he continued. He scratched his dusty chocolate hair before continuing.
"Scientists in our other department have been working on project Terramorph. We've gathered you all here because it's in it's final stages, and... It needs test subjects." he awaited the complaints, which rose and fell with every second. After they settled, he cleared his throat and turned on a tablet that projected a few images onto the screen behind him.
It showed what looked like blue prints, small diagrams and chemical names, along with phases of a certain change in bone, a larger and more focused diagram being the femur.
"This is what we've been working on. We have the chemical compositions laid out, the skeleton planned and phased, and even the change in radiation planned." he explained, trying to highten the interest and compel them to volunteer.
A hand rose into the air.
"Yes?" the scientist perked up.
"Doctor Adam, if I may ask, what are you working on exactly?" the man asked, his hand lowering immediately.
"Oh! Great question indeed! I'll explain that in a second!" Adam replied enthusiastically.
Flipping to another image, which represented a few bar graphs and a pony skeleton, he pointed to the skull of the diagram.
"We've been working on this project for ten years now, and, finally, we've come to the final stage. It's quite complex, and may seem rather... Childish, but we've figured out how to survive the incoming apocalypse. We in our current weak forms cannot survive the harsh and increased rays of radiation, it's just too hazardous. But, if we could change our forms, we could change our amount of radiation that we could intake. Just like most animals, you know?
We'd gotten used to technology, and with all of this and our polluting the earth, we just didn't have enough time to evolve. But through natural selection, the animals we live around have evolved. They've had the time to do so, since they hadn't gotten so used to using other items for their own survival. Any questions?" he asked.
Most of the faces in the room were alert, although a few were just plain lost. No one raised their hand.
"Uh... Then, as I was saying, we could, change, our anatomy to fit the current state of Earth. Those who went through this process would survive humanity's extinction, but the ones who don't...
Ah, as I was saying, the anatomy we'd come up with is more or less that of a pony.. I know it sounds odd, but..." Doctor Adam flipped to another image, which had a full in depth image of a pony's skeleton, although the features were quite deformed.
"This, is what we've made" he highlighted a few major bones and deformities.
The anxious and cautious whispers filled the room, although Adam didn't interfere, allowing it to eventually settle down.
"Most of you probably think this is insane, and, in truth, it probably is. But with an anatomy of this shape, and the right components and chemicals wired into the pony, they would have an average 86% chance of survival. That's much more than our current two percent chance, mind you. Now, with the anatomy-" he began to explain the figure on the screen.
Towards the back of the room, Star watched attentively as he pointed to a enlarge skull, which had a squared off snout and large ears. It had a horn coming out of it, and lots of labels surrounding the horn.
A unicorn?
No, there were wings, too. So... A Pegasus?
No, it couldn't be a Pegasus.
How about... Unisis? She shook her head, straining to focus on Doctor Adam again. Strands of dirty blonde hair dropped into her face- which she blew away. They fell back onto her face.
The femur, or back hind leg bone had a curve at the end of the thigh, which then slowly curved and widened until it got to the hooves. The same was with the front of hooves, although just without the extra bone in the thigh and leg bones. The back had a dip in it, probably suitable for carrying items.
The eye sockets though...
They were enlarged and covered almost what seemed to be half of the entirety of the skull.
"Now, the tail would come out at about here, and the main would have a central line that it always grew out of at about here," Adam pointed down the back of the sideways diagram of the pony.
"Are there any questions before I continue?" Adam asked.
Star thought for a moment, before deciding against raising her hand. A female beside her raised her's.
"Yes?".
"Why, of all creatures, a pony? Why not a dog, they've apparently adapted" she asked.
"Well, because even though they DO have a high chance of survival, these pony creatures have a much greater advantage, with the new advantages. And it happens to be much easier to create something with your required components than to edit something and be forced to deal with too many cons concerning it's current disadvantages and... Oh, I'm rambling, any more questions?".
After none were raised, we flipped to another image. It was, of course, another diagram, although it explained the three classes of ponies this time.
Star perked up. Now, even though this seemed to be a childish and impossible design for humanity's salvation, an explanation on how magical unicorns could go frolicking around seemed rather interesting.
"Now, we've classified three different kinds of ponies so far. There are... Other creatures, too, but that's saved for other members of the facility. The three classes are as follows- Earth Pony, Unicorn, and Pegasus, which are adapt to different advantages. Why would we want this, you ask? For variation, of course! Through Natural selection, we may be able to, in the future of these creatures, create better, stronger ponies if we have three different breeds throughout the world."
Exited whispers filled the room in an instant, although Star remained silent.
Variation? Would these 'ponies' really even be focused on something like that, rather than survival?
"Now, the Earth pony, as you can see, has no odd parts to it, besides the mutated skeleton. They do, although, have stronger muscles, can reach higher speeds, and are very well adapt to the weather changes, although we've had some trouble with storm adaptions...
The unicorns, in all, should be built in with a magnetic field that allows them to alter the earth through waves, basically telepathy. The Pegasus, on the other hand, can't... Well, they can't fly yet. Actually, the same goes for Unicorns. Through a few generations, added the right chemicals work to keep the horn on the pony, and the ability to fly for the Pegasi. Saying that, however, we don't know how this world will end. Being the population is about a record 175 now, and at least one dies each day, I'd have no idea how we humans are going to go extinct. But we do know there's radiation and other hazardous chemicals building up in the stratosphere, and oddly, the mesosphere."
Star faltered a moment, before flipping her hand into the air.
"what is it?" Adam asked.
"Seeing that Unicorns would be built in with these magnetic fields, for one, why wouldn't we be able to use them immediately, or more of, after we've been transformed?" she asked, confused.
"Well, you see, we can only strengthen these magnetic fields so much, and, with the added chemicals that would work to keep the horn from leaving due to natural selection, it just wouldn't yet be possible to makeshift a working magical unicorn at our level of technology."
Star lowered her hand afterwards. Our level of technology? Heck, we could create a solar panel out of paper! We had figured out teleportation, too. How could they NOT already have found out a way for the magnetic field to work?!
She shook her head.
The whole thing seemed off anyways. Ponies? Transformation? She highly doubted anyone would volunteer such a thing.
"Now, with that said, we still need test subjects. People that volunteer to live, pretty much. Who's in?" Adam asked enthusiastically. After no one raised their hand, he let out an annoyed grunt.
"Alright then. Allow me to explain how this would work. If you don't volunteer, you die in about, say, three months. If you volunteer, you might live."
"Might?" came the voice of the girl beside Star.
"Oh, uh, yes... Might. But you'd have a better chance of survival if you went through this, and all..."
"So what you're saying is, we could die just going through the transformation process?"
"... Well... yes" Adam admitted uncomfortably. He fiddled around with his hands. "But still, here's how the process works!" he flipped through a few images, some showing other skeletons, although they seemed to be different and of other animals. Were they planning on turning animals into ponies too? That'd be weird.
"First, you'll be put into a 'cell'. A cell is a circular jar, which, in it's current state, holds the capacity of one human. In there, you would go through the transformation process, which would take about ten to twenty minut-"
"How though?!" A male voice came from the room, "Wouldn't that be... Extremely painful?"
Adam sighed.
"Ah, yes, it would. But considering that, well, we don't have much time to prepare we-"
"So let me get this straight," another women growled, "our bodies would undergo extreme shifts and chemical changes! That could kill us in an instant!".
Doctor Adam cleared his throat, getting annoyed by the interruptions, and held up his hand to silence the room.
"I very well know that. And I was just about to get into the precautions, mind you. As I was saying...." Adam awaited for any interruptions, and when getting none, continued on with his explanation.
Star watched studiously as he pointed out the flaws of their program, and how they'd added in the best numbing spray they could to the machine.
Once he had finished explaining the hazards, she raised her hand.
"In this experiment, we wouldn't have to... Remove our clothing, would we?" she asked shyly, as the room began to look towards her.
"Oh Cel- heavens, no! And we'd advise you do no such thing! See, by the time you'd transform, the clothing would be toppling off of you anyways... Never mind that, now. This is getting awkward. Are there any questions? No? Good" he continued before someone could contradict his words.
"We need volunteers, is anyone up to the challenge? You'll be saving the world as we know it, and prevailing to prevent our culture's extinction! And you'll live."
Star, along with about a dozen other people raised their hands- including the girl beside Star.
I want to help.
"Hmm... That's... Seventeen! Ah, wonderful. We thank you for risking your life and blood for-"
A hand went down.
"... For, your people. Your kind. Uh, as I was saying, we'll get into the transformations tomorrow, and I have quite the discussion to have with you all! See, we'll need to get a few chemicals infused into your body and- oh."
Two hands left their place in the air.
"..." Adam sighed. "As I was saying, I need the rest of the room, those who do not want to LIVE, to leave please."
Most of the room shuffled out the door. Star shuddered. Were they gonna die? Were WE gonna die?
Adam smiled warmly at the fourteen people in front of him.
"Wonderful! I was beginning to think I'd been telling them too much information" he began to pace down the rows of chairs, passing out a tablet to each person.
"These will give you all the information you need, so please, study profusely tonight. Also, if by tomorrow you want to step down from this privilege, then, you are free to do so. Also, there are marks that you can choose from, which will go on the each side of your flank. It may sound weird, but the tablet explains it all. Consider it a little free gift of choice." Adam smiled.
"Now, if you please, we must get ready for tomorrow, and it just so happens to be quite past noon."
The remaining scientists walked out of the room.
Star rushed herself out of the room, sliding past the others as she shuffled to her way to her dorm. There was food in the cafeteria, but her stomach felt empty. She had just agreed to this- like it was nothing.
She could still back out.
And she knew it.
But something grabbed at her to continue, as if she was in shock, but still had the intention of surviving.
True, if it meant even a slight chance of surviving, then she would take it.
As Star made her way to her room, she passed two of the scientists who had volunteered.
She ignored them as they spoke in low voices, trying not to catch anyone's attention.
Star turned the corner of the corridor, right outside her room. She stopped, struggling to hear what they were saying.
"We're not really gonna let them do freaking surgery to our whole freaking body, are we?!" one of them whispered in a loud growl.
"Sadly, yes" the other one replied. Star recognized the voice of the girl who had sat beside her. She turned to see Doctor Adam making his way to the two. He smiled at them as he approached.
"Ah, miss Abeline. So nice to see you" he shook hands with the girl. So her name was Abeline?
She returned the gesture with a big smile. He glanced around the corridor, in which Star ducked behind the wall beside her, before pulling her off to the side.
Star couldn't hear what he mumbled to her, but it appeared to be something of an urgency, as she nodded briskly, and asked her friend to leave.
They continued to talk for a while.
Star was about to give up trying to listen, but they both walked off and turned down one of the hallways.
Annoyed with the itch to know what they were talking about, Star left her hiding place and turned towards her dorm. It was a bland room, large and open and white, only containing a single bed, a desk, a small white couch, and a wide screen TV. Star had brought her old Xbox-one, (since that had been the last one they'd made before this whole epidemic) and a few other gaming systems.
She cluttered the room with books, particularly every warriors series book she could get her hands on, and plenty of drawing papers she'd thrown around after ruining.
Star entered her room and flopped down on her couch.
She sighed.
Tomorrow would be a big day. She pulled out the slim, jet-black tablet she'd been handed out earlier. Reaching around the sides until she found the power button, it's screen blinked on in a bright flash.
It loaded for maybe a minute, before showing her a menu screen.
And about a million folders to read.
Star tapped a random folder. The screen zoomed in and took up the whole screen.
The folder opened, and revealed the skeleton of the pony. It showed the three types from earlier, and the bone matter, along with other chemicals and components she didn't realize.
She scammed the contents, returning to the menu. Tapping on the 'marks' folder, it brought up a screen full of little tattoos.
She assumed it was the tattoo's Doctor Adam had mentioned earlier.
They were all lined up in order of type, ranging from weather to magic. There was a lighting bolt, a magic wand, even a bird to choose from.
She found a few that caught her attention, like a blue crescent moon, and a cat head.
Star sighed as she returned to the menu screen.
She had a lot of studying to do. And so little time. What was going to happen tomorrow?
Would it hurt? Would everything go well? What would happen afterwards?
But, one question rang in her head harder than the rest...
Would she live to see another day?

I hope you guys like it, but I know I didn't give NEARLY enough emotion or suspension and stuff when Star decided to volunteer. :I
I hope the next chapter is better, though. I got more creative at the end, having my normal computer back and all, but... Meh.
I LOVE transformation, so things should get real juicy next chapter
Cracker?
Star grumbled in annoyance at her grinding alarm clock.
She turned over to turn the ringing monster off, only to succeed to in falling on her face.
She'd stayed up past midnight last night trying to study the whole tablet, which eventually seemed impossible when she realized she still had a good dozen or so more folders to go through. Those things were packed full of information.
And she still hadn't chosen a mark yet.
'Ugh, stupid freaking schedule' she growled at herself as she pushed her arm up onto her desk, hitting the alarm clock.
She needed to pick one before she got there, but it was already nine o' clock, and she needed to be there by ten.
Star pulled herself onto her feet.
She had decided to sleep in her clothes, too tired to take them off, much less put different ones on. And, still tired, she decided against changing them, rather heading over to a small coffee machine that laid near her door. She slapped a mug under the container, and shuffled away to the couch to put her shoes on.
What mark would she choose... Star thought and thought about it. She knew she didn't want a star. No. She'd had way too much teasing about that name already, not to mention the infamous song 'Twinkle little star' sung to her a ridiculous amount of times.
No, instead she was thinking about an animal or something mystical.
Like a wolf, or magic, or something of the sort.
She mulled over which one to pick while she got ready, ate, and prepared a small messenger bag with her favorite books, and a sketchpad.
She threw on a coat- when she turned, she did NOT want to be naked, and shuffled out the door.
It was about nine thirty when she got there, noting she was one of the first few in the room, so she picked a seat near the back of the room in a corner to sit an read at.
Although when she pulled out a random book from her bag, she just couldn't bring herself to read it. She couldn't stop dreading the next hour.
She managed to get a paragraph out of the book, remaining in her over-active imagination for the rest of the thirty minutes.
The volunteers slowly came in one by one. Three were missing, including Abeline. Star sighed. She probably got talked out of it by Doctor Adam.
Was it going to be THAT bad?
Once the clock hit ten, Adam arose from his seat behind a cluttered white desk. He smiled widely at all of the volunteers as he steadily made his way over to them.
"Ah, it's time then! Are you all ready?" he asked enthusiastically. A union of muttered comments arose in reply.
"Good, good. Then let's begin!" he led all of them into another room, which had turned from a modern white to a mass array of gray and black. Machines lined the walls, and tall intimidating statues with dozens of screens on them sat in the corns of the large room.
They led around the machines, walking along one of the walls. There were few other people there, mostly testing the machines to make sure they were ready for usage.
"Is this the... Machine thing?" Star asked.
"Well, it is part of it. But no, the actual machine itself is a more compact room... You'll see it when it's your turn" Adam smiled.
He led the group into a another room, which was the normal mordernized white, and had a large screen at the front. It showed empty vital signs and other boxes full of information. We all chose our own spots to wait at, Star picking a spot in a corner far away from the door.
Doctor Adam went his own way, pulling out a radio.
"Is everything ready?" he spoke into it. "Good. I want to make this quick, we should hurry and- I know, but still. I think, uh," he cast a glance around the room, before whispering something inaudible into the radio.
"Understand? Good. I'll send a volunteer your way right now".
He turned to the rest of the group.
"Hello there! Any of you brave, courageous volunteers want to go first?" after no hands went up, Adam stepped up to a male that looked to be in his twenties. He was shaking uncontrollably.
"You there! You can be the first one to go! Good luck!" Adam ushered him out the metallic door, where a security guard awaited. The door closed behind the man, leaving everyone blinking at Doctor Adam.
"Anyone want to volunteer to go after him?" he asked brightly.
Star pushed herself further into the corner of the wall.
"No? Uh, how about you, miss?" Star jerked up, but sighed in relief as she saw him walk over to a short petite woman in her thirties.
He shook hands with her, in which she quickly withdrew her hand, looking offended.
Adam was about to continue his conversation, but perked up.
"Oh! I forgot something!" he flicked on his radio and spoke into it.
"Which mark does our volunteer want? No, I never asked him. A pink mustache? We have one of those?! Alright, alright, I'll put it into the data" he stuffed the radio in his coat pocket.
"Please excuse me for a moment" he smiled and walked over to the large screen, flicking his fingers over the keyboard for about a minute. A vital sign appeared, and an image of a bright pink mustache floated near the name "Mark".
Star sighed.
She didn't know which mark she wanted, and she'd left her tablet back at her dorm.
Eventually, after about ten minutes or so, Adam reported a delightful sentence of success as he whipped around to the next person- the woman he'd upbruptly introduced himself from earlier.
"Hi there! Which mark were you wanting to get?" he asked eagerly.
"Uh.. T-The cupcake one..." she stammered.
"Wonderful!" he began to reach for her hand.
She tried to shy away into the crowd, but he gripped her hand and ushered her towards the door. Another security guard awaited to court her to her destination, and Adam quickly pushed her out of the room before she could recoil. Her long blue dyed hair was the last anyone saw of her before the door slammed shut.
"Well, that about settles that. Who's next?" he asked brightly.
Someone actually raised their hand, in which Adam practically tripped running over to him.
"Hi there, what's your name?" he asked as he shook the other guy's hand furiously.
"Eh... Felix" the other guy pulled his hand back after it began to hurt, waving it around to get the feeling back into it.
"Wonderful! Thank you so much for actually volunteering for this!" Doctor Adam's smile was almost insane.
"Uh-huh. You're so welcome..." he sent a glare to someone who was near him, who smirked at him in return.
"Why do I have to make dares..."
"Well, in about seven minutes, sir, you'll be ready to go!" Adam said quickly before dashing to the screen, inserting more data.
He turned to Felix one more time.
"You look familiar... Meh. Which mark were you interested in?".
"The, uh- the one with the fist" Felix replied absently.
"Ah, wonderful! That reminds me of something on the internet.. I could've swore... Ah, never mind that" Adam spoke aloud to himself.
A while past, and more and more people left- most having not volunteered.
There was one person named Jack, who'd chosen an eye ball mark (reasons unknown) and there was a girl who picked out a golden bunny head mark next to a cute red fox with an eye patch.
Eventually there were only three people left in the room, the fourth one being a guy and having chosen a pixelated diamond sword for a cutie mark.
Doctor Adam scanned the vital signs with sheer joy. There had only been one malfunction throughout the whole time, including an almost fatal attack on one of the volunteers.
Adam looked at the three people thoroughly, before giving Star a nod.
She almost fainted.
Was she going next? She hadn't even chosen a mark! What was going to happen to her?! Would she make it?
Of course she would, she assured herself.
All these questions didn't help her any, but they flooded her mind anyways.
When Doctor Adam gave a thumbs up and reported that the procedure had gone well, he immediately walked over to Star and pulled her onto her feet.
"Well, today's your lucky day! We might as well go on with the info I need, which mark would you like?" he awaited for her to answer. Star shyly pulled my hand back and sort of whimpered.
"I don't e-exactly know...? I was thinking about a wolf, but-"
"Ah, wonderful! The wolf it is!" he dashed away to program something into the screen. Beside her name appeared the silhouette of a wolf's head and neck, with a white eye.
"O-Okay then..." Star whimpered.
She was ushered towards the door by Doctor Adam, who was apparently oblivious to her shivering body and clenched teeth.
She was about to turn on him and run back into the room, but he had already gotten her outside the room. She spared a glance back at the white room before the door slammed in front of her, leaving her alone in the dark metal warehouse.
Well, she wasn't necessarily alone, as there was the same security guard waiting to escort her to her destination.
"Eh... Is there any turning back and, oh I don't know, evading having to become a whole different creature with the possible fatal chance of dying?" she squeaked.
The security guard sighed.
"No. You've studied this whole process, you know everything about the experiment, it would be too dangerous to let anyone go free". he stated solemnly.
"With the amount of success we've had, the rest of the faculty will probably be going through this too, so don't feel alone, aight? You're not the only one about to lose your fingers and feet." when he saw that Star was only shaking worse he sighed.
"Just, follow me."
She followed him wordlessly, struggling to not run off. If she did, they'd probably kill her, or only force her back into it. There was no use in trying.
As they finally came across a large cylinder large enough to fit several people, the guard nodded to her and turned back to leave.
She was met with a old stubby scientist who vigorously shook her hand and led her into the cylinder.
He said nothing as he turned to another scientist, lean and tall, who simply told her to move into the machine.
He walked over to his laptop, so did the stubby one, and they talked for a small while before nodding to Star. The lean tall one walked over to her, asked for her belongings, and shut the door with a soft "click". He locked it for good measure.
Star was about to break into tears. This would probably be painful. Thousands of chemicals being sucked out of your body, as well as forced into your brain wasn't exactly a pain-free method in science biology.
Star clutched her dusty black coat, reaching to put the hood over her head. She felt safer having the coat cover almost her whole body, it's black felt draping down past her knees.
She tried to find solace in it's warmth, but that feeling of security was quickly over washed with worry as she heard the machine click on.
It began to whir.
A few spray chemicals began to wash over the air. They smelled particularly clean and fresh, like hand sanitizer.
A voice echoed over in the microphone.
"This is just a sanitizing spray, to make sure there aren't any harmful chemicals that can get in the way. The next chemical should start the-"
"Please don't tell me what's happening. Please don't talk" Star interrupted him.
Nothing came out of the microphone afterwards, although Star could see the short stubby man shrug.
Star's bright brown eyes scanned the machine for more chemicals. After about ten seconds, more set in, although they didn't have a smell, but they did burn slightly as they touched her skin. Even with her hood on, it found a way to circulate over her head and body. She began to feel slightly numb. A sedative?
She tried to pull the hood over her head more to stop it from numbing.
Eventually another chemical added to the mix. It smelled like oil, with a distinctive hint of bleach...
The moment the spray chemical touched her skin it began to sizzle and burn. Star quickly tried to get the chemicals off of her, but to no avail.
Her skin began to turn red as more of the chemical fell down onto her skin.
"H-Hey! What the heck is this!?" she screamed.
But there was no answer. They must've turned the mic off, she guessed with an uncomfortable grunt. The chemicals burned, like putting hand sanitizer on a wound.
She gripped both arms, trying to lower the pain.
Soon too other chemicals seemed to burst into the container.
And that was when it started. They covered her body, soaking into her skin. She could hear the sound of bones popping as they did this. A biochemical germ?
There was a sudden snap in her wrist, which was followed by several other cracks that resonated in her fingers. She raised her right hand to see what was going on.
Her index finger was bent backwards, and her others seemed suddenly smaller than they were supposed to be. Pain flooded Star's body as she gripped her wrist and let out an agonizing howl.
She could feel every bone in her body began to re-shape itself- some dissolving, leaving others to re-arrange themselves, poking her flesh from the inside with harsh, terrifying stabs.
Another chemical took it's place, showering down on her like water. It smelled like bleach, and it actually began to hurt to breathe.
She could feel her hand begin to swell, numbing a little. Her fingers still snapped this way and that, as if they couldn't decide which way to go.
Her back curved backwards, and she could feel her skin break as something begin to nudge it's way out of her forehead, blood seeping out onto her face and clouding her vision. Tears were already streaming down her face.
The pain was unbearable.
She could feel her ears move upward along the side of her head. They grew until they poked the hood, nudging it backwards.
Soon her head was left bare of the hood itself, which had fell back at the pressure of her ears. She could see fur beginning to grow on her arms and hands, which were now burning beyond compare.
"Please stop!" she screamed.
The sensational burning reached her legs as she could feel her knee snap. It felt broken, but she could feel the stabbing pain of it moving up her leg.
Star suddenly saw her nose bend and grow, swelling and reaching outwards. She tried to grip her face, but her nubby hands only hit it, feeling soft thing fur growing their instead of skin. She could see the color through the blood, it was a dark crimson purple, and the locks of hair in her face seemed to become a light gray.
Her nose grew, stretching with her mouth until it became a snout fit for a pony.
She whimpered through it, tears changing their tracks to roll over her fur covered muzzle. She felt her skin break yet again as fur burst out of her vestigial tail bone, spurting what she figured was a light gray blood stained tail.
Her hands were now hardening into curved hooves, which had a flat bottom.
Her legs had bent into an unnatural position that about made Star faint just looking at them. Her feet had actually already rounded themselves and became hooves like her hands, although they hadn't finished their process. She could feel her eyes getting larger, blood rushing into them from her forehead.
She lifted one of her hooves to feel a spine growing from the top of her head.
Even through the burning and aching of her body, Star's vision began to get blurry.
She tried to speak, which came out as a raspy whimper.
"H-help me..."
She could feel water begin to spray onto her from above. It washed away the blood that had covered her coat and body. Her coat actually was much bigger now, she noted.
The burning was subsiding slowly, but so was her consciousness.
She heard an explosion of sound in her right ear, and saw a bright white and red light in that direction. Something else happened, people screamed, and someone ran after the cylinder Star stood in.
"Help..." she murmured, before falling down and losing conscious.

Well one of those references (possibly several) are gonna be one of the main characters in da story.
I LOVE WRITING THIS CHAPTER!!!! I love writing transformation scenes, and to actually finish one... Ah, it's relieving. 8D
Imma get started on the next one now, too. (unless this had to be published afterwards) :P
