//-------------------------------------------------------// The Story of Fluttershy and the Seven Ponies -by Roisin the Irish pony- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Mirror, mirror on the wall //-------------------------------------------------------// Mirror, mirror on the wall Once upon a time, a unicorn called Starlight Glimmer. She ruled a rural village in the land of Equestria. In this village, eveypony had the same cutie mark, because it was thought that individuality was evil. However, for reasons unknown, Starlight Glimmer kept her own cutie mark. At first impressions, she seemed to be openly friendly and welcoming, although strict, punishing those who wouldn't conform to her philosophy. She was really paranoid, short tempered, callous and fanatical. She was also very vain and loved being told that she was beautiful. She had a 'magic mirror' in the form of her 'friend' Double Diamond. He would answer all her questions about her beauty behind a theatre curtain, because Starlight wanted it to feel authentic. She would comb her Mane and then ask, "Magic mirror on the wall, who's the fairest one of alll?" And every time, Double Diamond would reply, "You, oh, Starlight Glimmer, are the fairest one of all." He really did mean it. He did have a crush on her. Well, so long as he said those words to her everyday, Starlight Glimmer would be happy. However, soon, Starlight got some competition. A new pony named Fluttershy, a sweet, shy and kind Pegasus, moved in with her best friends. She was very beautiful, but didn't know it, and didn't care about looking beautiful to please herself or others. Starlight Glimmer grew intensely jealous of her and that didn't improve her temper. It got even worse when one day, she stood in front of her 'mirror' and said, "Magic mirror, on the wall, who's the fairest one of all?" Double Diamond trembled. He had to tell the truth but Starlight would take out her great anger on him. He sighed. "Alas, fair queen, for it is not you who is the fairest one of all, it is a young pony, living in this town." "Oh really?" Drawled Starlight sarcastically, "Pray, do tell, I am simply dying to know;" "Coat the dear colour of a buttercup, Mane as Pink as a rose and eyes as blue as the sea." Starlight Glimmer gasped in horror. "Fluttershy!" She exclaimed, sweeping out the room.
