Just. Apologize Soarin...
I can just remember that day... the day we went separate ways, the day she told me that she was moving... the day when she told me... she loved me...
I could remember all of it... thanks to Fleet's rambling...
Flashback
"Soarin!"
"Hm?"
"Dashie wants to talk to you!" giggled Fleetfoot, Spitfire rolling her eyes beside her.
"YOU know why." mumbled Spitfire, shooting Fleetfoot a glare.
"Oh... uh... right... anyway umm... C'mon Soar!"
"What?" asked Soarin, incredibly confused.
"Just follow her..."
"DASH!"
"AH! Oh hey Fleets, Spi- ..."
"Err... Fleets... I need to talk to you." mumbled Rainbow quietly, doing a signal to Spitfire.
Catching her movement, Spitfire winked back, "Soar, could you come with me? I need to err... get to my locker and get my goggles for training... yeah!"
Soarin rolled his eyes, seeing all of their signals but replied, "Yeah... whatever... you baby..."
"You... shut up..." growled Spitfire.
"Oh gosh... let's get out of here before she explodes!" giggled Fleetfoot, Rainbow rolling her eyes.
"Sooo? Yes?"
"WHY did you bring him?! I haven't had time to think it through!"
"Well... this is the last time your going to see him..." mumbled Fleetfoot, a little taken aback.
"I... I really don't want to move away from Cloudsdale but my parents won't allow it..."
"Hey... I'm sure you'll make friends in Ponyville! Anyway Fluttershy's going with you too!" argued Fleetfoot
"I-I dunno... I'd probably just want to stay in Cloudsdale and visit Fluttershy." sighed Rainbow.
"Well... we'll totally visit!"
"Yeah but most of the time you guys are in school and every weekend Soarin is busy."
"I... I still bet he'd do what he can to see you..."
"Do... do you know if he even likes me? Whats the point of telling me I love him when he might not even LIKE me?!"
"Dash... I'm like uhh seventy percent sure he likes you!"
"Really...? N-no... more like one percent..."
"Are you crying?" asked Fleetfoot with a bit of surprise.
"NO!"
"Dash..."
"I'm not! See?" growled Rainbow looking at her with a solid expression, as if she was trying to hold back tears.
"Dash you... you NEED to tell him. Today."
Rainbow looked at Fleetfoot, Fleetfoot confidently standing before her in a FIRM voice. She was never serious. Unless needed. She was being serious right now?
"I... ok. I will. I'll do it today, mum, dad, YOU CAN'T STAHP MEH!"
Fleetfoot looked at her with her sudden change in mood and rolled her eyes, Rainbow was back to being her normal teenage self.
"Enough with the swag, even though it really isn't, your parents are expecting you soon so w-"
"What? How do you know when my parents are expecting me?" asked Rainbow, looking back at her.
"Cause you don't shut up." she replied back, smirking.
"Shut up Fleets..."
"EEEEEEXACTLY!"
"... are you okay?" asked Soarin quietly, coming into their room they shared.
"... I'm... fine... So-"
"Really?" asked Soarin, looking strongly into her eyes.
Rainbow opened her mouth to reply but couldn't get anything out and she nodded slowly.
"I'm fine, really Soarin I... just... need to tell you something..."
"Oh, yeah? Go ahead."
Soarin smiled at her as she looked at him, sighing, she replied, "I'm... leaving..."
"..."
"Soarin?"
"You... what?"
Rainbow winced as she heard his defeated voice and she started to make her way towards the door, hoping to get away.
"Dash..." sighed Soarin, hooking her hoof and pulling her back, making her look deeply into his eyes. Not replying back, Rainbow averted her eyes before looking back at him, she slammed her eyes shut and she slammed her lips into his.

Soarin's eyes instantly widened at her movement, pulling back.
"EEEEP! Omigosh... I... I'm so... sorry... please forgive me!" shouted Rainbow, running out, tears streaming down her eyes.
"Was that tears?" mumbled Soarin, still surprised, "I... if you can hear me... I love you..."
"Stupid... stupid... stupid..." sighed Rainbow, wiping her tears and looking outside to see her father walking towards the school.
"No... NO! I need to say goodbye to him before... it's... too late... I'm not going to see him for a while even if he does visit... oh... whats the point... he probably already hates me..."
"Rainbow? What are you doing here?" asked her father, Rainbow Blaze.
"N-nothing I... need to get my bags!" shouted Rainbow frantically, making an excuse to go see Soarin again.
"Well ok, make it quick, trains departing soon!"
"I thought we're above Ponyville..."
"Above Manehatten" noted Blaze.
"Right... I'll be by in a sec."
"SOARIN?!" shouted Rainbow, looking around her room to see that he was no longer inside and that it was completely empty, save for her bags... and a note.
Rainbow walked towards the note on his bed and slowly read it,
Dear Rainbow Dash,
I understand that you may like me... though we cannot carry on. Things won't go well if we make a relationship and you leaving to Ponyville, I'm sorry. I hope we can still be friends and move on, I swear as long as I will fly, I will come to visit one day. I promise.
Love, Soarin.
Rainbow looked over the note over and over again, trying to comprehend what the note was trying to say. Did he just ditch her or something? She turned over the note to see:
Ps. I'm moving in with one of my childhood friends, Fire Streak.
"I think he seriously ditched me..." sighed Rainbow, looking at the note and putting it in her bag, taking one last look at her room before picking up her luggage and walking out to the main lobby, not bothering to lock the door.
"You ready Rainbow?" asked Blaze.
"Sure... I guess... lets go." replied Rainbow quickly, trying to avoid any questions.
"Uh okay..."
"Dude, what if this isn't really a prank and shes really leaving?" scoffed Fire as Soarin relayed the whole story to him.
"Cuh! I know her! She'd at least tell me a few days before so we could hang out! Plus wouldn't she of told your brother?"
"Well yeah, she used to hang out with Lightning but... you know they drifted apart when Fluttershy and Hoops came into the picture."
"Oh..." mumbled Soarin.
"Yeah, anyway didn't you say she KISSED you?"
"SOARIN! Why is your room open AND left empty?" asked Lightning quickly, skidding into the room.
"What?"
"Told you so, so she is moving... ughr didn't even have time to say goodbye..." sighed Fire.
"Wait..."
"Dash... left?" squeaked Lightning, his eyes widening.
"How did you get so close as friends to her anyway?! You always hung out with me!" pointed out Fire, Soarin sensing out a argument rising.
"Pu-lease! You always hung out with your marefriend." smirked Lightning, referring to Misty.
"Err... s-shes not my marefriend... ANSWER MY QUESTION!"
"Cause she used to have a crush on me and then we had a date, thought it was stupid, laughed it off and now we're best friends. Done."
"What? You had a date with her when you were 8?" smirked Fire.
"Idiot... it wasn't exactly a date... a foals date..."
Flashback over
Did she really leave me without saying bye? Ugh here I am, 6 years later, wondering about my old friend whilst I'm about to judge a competition. For young flyers. Great, I'm probably like younger than most of them! Jeeze even I could bang them out any-day!
Wait.
No.
That...
That isn't her... it can't be...
"Come on Soarin! Be on alert! Especially... with that... err... unicorn? What kind of wings are THEY?!"
"U-uh... sure... yeah..." I mumble, completely oblivious to what Spitfire had just said.
How could Spitfire and Misty not recognise her? She stands out so clearly... wait... she'd probably... hate me... to death... I never visited... I never cared... I never knew...
"AAHHHHHH!!"
"The mare? Ughr I saw this coming, C'MON GUYS!" Spitfire suddenly commanded, shooting down.
I sigh, concerned about this mare although Rainbow on the back of my mind.
I recovered from the fall, all I can remember is getting kicked in the face and a rainbow blurr... oh...
-3rd person-
Rainbow looked to the ground, looking back at the wonderbolts who had just congratulated her... Soarin. He... he was in the wonderbolts now? To her, it was obvious that Spitfire was in, though... Soarin promised her... he said... said... to think she believed he really hurt himself badly, so bad that he died...
"Rainbow...?"
"Hm? Oh hey Flutters..."
"Is... is..."
"Yeah. That's Soarin." mumbled Rainbow flatly.
"O-oh Rainbow! I-I'm so sorry..."
"You don't need to apologise Shy, it's HIS fault... he LIED to me. I can't... I can't..." cried Rainbow, looking to a side.
Fluttershy frowned, seeing her distressed, especially in a place like Cloudsdale, so open, Dash only ever shed a few tears when they were alone and when her parents died.
"Shhh, it's alright Dashie..." whispered Fluttershy, gently draping a wing over her.
"I-I just want to... to..."
"No pony's around... let it out..." mumbled Fluttershy gently, hugging her.
Soarin stared at the two, about to go get Rainbow to go talk to her when he stumbled across the two. He really let her down...
"I shouldn't even be able to be friends with her... I don't deserve it." mumbled Soarin, staring at the two friends intently, not taking his gaze off them.
Fluttershy suddenly flinched and looked behind her, her pegasi senses saying somepony was spying on them, instantly spotting Soarin and remaining silent.
Soarin's eyes widened as the two looked at each other and Fluttershy looked away nervously, going back to Rainbow.
"Oh dear..." sighed Fluttershy under her breathe.
"W-what?"
"E-err... n-nothing..."
"Umm okay..." sighed Dash, looking to a side and looking up to the sky.
Soarin looked at her for another few moments before making his way over to Spitfire as she raised an eyebrow at him.
"Soar? Where have you been?"
"Nowhere ma'am!"
"Soarin... we've been over this..."
"Sorry I'm used to my moth- y-you know..."
"Oh... right" mumbled Spitfire, feeling ashamed, deciding not to push him.
"Spitfire... did you... did you recognise anypony in there from... flight school...?"
"Flight school?!" scoffed Spitfire, rolling her eyes, "There are EXACTLY two ONLY ponies I miss from flight school that are Fluttershy and Rai- sorry..."
"N-no! It's uhm fine..."
