Applejack was looking for help. Big Mac had, once again, broken his back. Worst part, it was not only Applebuck season, it was planting season. It would have bad enough if her brother had broken his back earlier in the season. At least then, there was no need to worry about planting and sowing. But, now there was planting, sowing, bucking, watering and another million chores to do.
All of Applejack's friends were busy so that ruled them out. The rest of the Apple family had their own plantations worry about. Almost everypony in Ponyville had their own job to do. They couldn't give it up for the sake of the Apples.
Sighing defeatedly, Applejack bucked at an apple tree. Even if she couldn't get the sowing done, she might as well make a profit.
"Hey Applejack!"said a voice, breaking into her thoughts.
Applejack looked up to see Caramel standing a few yards in front of her. Subconsciously, she hoped he was not here to ask for the job but she made sure not to point that out.
"Hey, Caramel! What brings you here this fine day?"she asked.
"Well, I couldn't help but hear that y'all are looking for some help. I need a job, so, I was wondering maybe....,"he trailed off.
"Uh.. Maybe you could ask someone else for a job,"Applejack suggested, trying not to sound as if she was turning him down.
"Oh.."
"Listen, I know that some of my friends are busy. Maybe they'll give you a job. If I come with you then they won't object to you asking."
"I guess so."
Applejack and Caramel went down the path towards Ponyville. Their first stop was Fluttershy's, which was the nearest.
"Howdy, Fluttershy. Caramel 'ere needed a job so I said I'd help him with the job huntin',"Applejack said when she saw the timid pegasus.
"Thats very nice of you, Applejack, but I'm afraid I don't have any work for Caramel to do. Not to mention, I'm late for my weekly spa appointment with Rarity,"Fluttershy answered,"Sorry," she added bashfully
"No problemo, 'Shy"
"Bye"
Next, Applejack and Caramel went to Sugarcube Corner.
"Hey, Mrs. Cake, do you have any positions open for Caramel?"she enquired with the shop co-owner
"Not right now, dearie. Thanks to Pinkie, everything is under control,"she answered
