A story written as a promise to a friend. It's about an earth-pony mare named Sunnyside who who is visited by her daughter 10 years after their adventures together. During the visit Sunshine is tasked with convincing her mother to undergo a surgery that will preserve her essence and allow her to continue her work for years to come. However Sunnyside is skeptical of the surgery and prompts her daughter to read her mother's series of diaries during her visit to better understand her position on the topic.
