"S.B!" Sprinkle yelled from across the rotunda. The little blue pony trotted over to me faster than a dragon when a gem is involved. It was a bleak winter day in Canterlot, the kind with no snow only cold wind.
"Are you deaf? I shouted your name like twenty times." I could tell she wasn't in the mood for any of my melancholy winter thoughts.
"Look," I defended, "It isn't my fault the ponies around here make too much noise." Sprinkle scanned the bare rotunda. I had picked the wrong excuse that was obvious. Suddenly to my extreme relief a purple unicorn came trotting through muttering something about a test she had failed. An adorable little purple and green dragon trailed behind her saying he was sorry for saving the crystal empire. Wow the ponies around here really were odd.
"Where have you been? You were supposed to help me deal with the preparations for my trip to ponyville to help with winter wrap up." A miffed Sprinkle asked.
" I was just thinking." I responded carelessly. Sprinkle's eyes softened. She glanced down at my flank. I guess it's easy to tell that the picture of a knife on my flank with a less than stellar reputation would cause a lot of ridicule. It's not that bad. I was just in a mood that nopony could pull me out of.
"Look Sugar... "
"NO!" I interrupted, " no half-hearted attempts to make me feel better." At this point I was really mad but instead of stopping my rant I stupidly decided to continue the madness, " It's all anyone ever talks about, 'Oh Sugar Belle don't let those bullies get to you. They are only trying to make themselves feel better' well I don't care what you or anyone else says I don't care what anyone else says about it. I'm good with knives and that's that. Hear that Equestria? I don't care what anyone else says about my cutie mark, I know how to chop!" A few ponies stopped to stare at me. "Cool" a pink pony with a poofy mane shouted back before abruptly bouncing away.
I sighed and trotted off. I was heading home and no one could stop me. I am sick and tired of annoying ponies thinking they are so funny just because making fun of a pony who got her cutie mark a lot later than everypony else is for some reason cool.
Sometimes I wonder why I am upset. I have a room in the Canterlot castle. unfortunately that's all going away now because I'm leaving. I'm trotting off to a new town and not looking back. But where? Doge Junction? No, to country for my taste. I guess that means ponyville's out too. I could move to the crystal empire but I think that they might discriminate against regular ponies. There's always Manehattan. I hear It's lovely there in the winter. It's settled.
Now to pack my belongings. Oh wait I have nothing but bits. Oh well I guess I'll pack my bits.
It's off to Manehattan.
