Beginning of the Nightmare
Another night, another nightmare, another hunter. This cycle was unstoppable. Gehrman, the first hunter was here as keeper of hunter's dream and figure of the Great One. He guide every hunter who ever show up in this ,,Terrible dream''.From the first day of his ,,duty'' here has passed so long time. Days become, months, months become a years and now no one remember when it all mess starts.
Gehrman still remember his past before this plague, but he doesn't know when he end up here. For him it was torture, endless suffering, serving the Great One who lead this nightmare. Always when this ends, he kill the hunter as a sign of mercy, he let them live in normal world, he let them be happy as he never going to be.
But now there was something different. New Hunter arrive in the Hunter's dream, Gehrman knew that he's going to do more than anyone before him. He was right, after only few hours he find a way to Rom, Gehrman every time think that the Master Willem is still sitting on his chair like he always do in the past, watching the moon from the balcony.
*Flashback*
''Master Willem, you still here? Maybe you should sleep for a while.'' Gehrman cannot believe how long Willem can watch the moon. Of course it was beautiful, but watching this that long.
Master Willem was now very old. That was hard to him to even move now without his staff. And sitting and glancing at the moon not helping him, but it always give him a peace in the soul.
''Maybe sometimes you could do the same, with company it could be even better.'' Willem's voice was very peaceful, he always felt that he has some connection with this moon, maybe one day he finally reached what is it.
''If I have a chair like yours maybe I could do it.'' Gehrman always wanted to sit in a chair like this, feel that he's someone important.
''Maybe one day you could built better chair. You know, I think this moon is something very special, I'm lead this school to finally discover what makes it so special, this could be miracle, maybe something is hidden behind this light, maybe even a knowledge about Great Ones.'' Master Willem was very excited.
''Maybe it can answer why Laurence must doing that loud snores.'' Gehrman never likes Laurence snores, they don't let him sleep for a long time.
''But, seriously. You really think so that there can be something? Because the Great Ones are just a myth, legend, but if we really can found something about Great Ones this could be a danger.''
Gehrman after this words come closer to the Master Willem. Now he was next to him. Master Willem looked at Gerhman now
''Gehrman I know this can be danger, but this is why we are here, we protect the people, we help them and cure them. If this is danger we can destroy it.'' Master Willem's words were very certain. He again starts watching the moon
'' My friend, what do you think, what this moon in this moment can say to us?'' Willem was curious of what he can say. Gehrman starts looking at moon and think about the answer.
''Maybe this. ,,Willem, can you stop looking at me and finally go to sleep? Maybe tomorrow I give you the answer".'' Gehrman's joke make a smile on Willem's face. He finally get up from his chair.
''Maybe you right moon, well thank you for this talk Gehrman, you're a good friend, maybe one day we both going to discover something spectacular. Goodnight.'' Master Willem slowly enter into the school.
''Oh and Gehrman, if you want you can sit on my chair, maybe you can sleep better here.'' Willem said that before he closed the door.
Gehrman sit on the chair, and feel like he's going to sit here forever. It was very comfortable, view of the moon helped him to fell asleep.
*end of flashback*
Every memory about his friends Laurence and Willem make him cry, every tear was another day of his misery. He now think about chair of Master Willem. Well he built his own chair and he's going to sit here until he die. What a irony. The red moon on the sky remind him about everything he lost. There is no one who can save him.
''No one.''
Gehrman fell asleep again. This is going to be another bad dream. The doll took him in his chair to the garden. When Hunter came back he hear Gehrman' s voice from there.
"Oh, Laurence... Master Willem... Somebody help me... Unshackle me please, anybody... I've had enough of this dream... The night blocks all sight... Oh, somebody, please... "
The rest of what he heard was crying. Hunter feel bad, his friend, teacher is closed in this dream and not have any chance to come back to his life. He must find someway to set him free. Not for honor or price, but for him.
*meanwhile in Equestria*
''Luna! You still there?'' Voice of Celestia was heard from the door.
''Yes I'm here Tia. You can come in.'' When Celestia came into her room Luna feel that there is something wrong. ''What happen Tia?''
''I just feel bad for what happen on that wedding, it was first time when I was beat.'' Her voice was very sad. ''I feel like I'm failed Cadence.''
Luna came closer to her and look in her eyes.
''Tia don't say that you did a good job, Chrysalis just had much more power cause she absorb power of love from Shining armor. Without that she couldn't beat you, I assure y...'' Before Luna end she felt something bad, that was like someone destroy the balance between night and day like she did few months ago.
''Lulu is something wrong? Lulu?''
An answer from her never came. Celestia for some reason look at moon. Maybe it was hallucination, but for second moon was red. Something was wrong. Really wrong. For the rest of night she talk with Luna about what happen.
*meanwhile in Hunter's dream
After another hours, new Hunter defeat many beasts, and Amygdala. That was spectacular, Gehrman did not know someone can be that strong, he was that powerful like Gehrman, maybe even more. He after this beat Ebrietas and Micolash. Gehrman know Micolash well he was one of the most wise students in Byrgenwerth. But something has change. He fall into insane after he spoke with the Great One.
''Eileen, Gascoine, now Micolash. How many peoples is going to suffer because of those Great Ones?''
After this he find a way to get into Cainhurst. Gehrman cannot believe in what the Laurence did. He create this horrible queen. How many things he's going to lost tonight. Most heavy scene was when this hunter find a way into the hunter's nightmare. Gehrman knew what was there. Again the tears starts coming from his eyes.
''All this time, oh , I'm sorry, please, forgive me I'm sorry.'' Every time when he think about this day, when he met her, what happen because of this day.
*flashback*
''Welcome. You're Gehrman yes?'' That was her, she was very beautiful. After all of this he can't imagine something more delightful than anything on this world.
''I'm not worth to look at you.'' Gehrman kneel before her and bow his head, she just giggle and grab his arm, to help him stand on his legs.
''You contact with me and I answer, I want to speak to you, you're quite interesting young man.'' Her voice was delicate like the feathers of the swan.
''Maybe you can show me what is here, I want to see this world from other perspective. You can help me?'' She ask him with his hand between her hands. That was one of the most happy days in his life. ''And you can meet me with you friends Willem and Laurence. They could be very happy if they see me.''
''Of course I can, The Great One.'' on this words she giggle again
''You can call me Kos.''
''Thank you, Kos.''
*flashback end*
Gehrman still remember Kos, her beauty, her kindness. He still remember they travels, how they laugh on Willem and Laurence's reactions on her, how they fell in love with each other.
''Oh Kos, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. I wish I could see you again.''
Meanwhile
After few weeks Twilight became a Princess, Spike defeat king Sombra and Discord finally meet true face of friendship thanks to Fluttershy. But Luna still remember what happen on that night, maybe now everything was better, but she felt that something is going to happend. Something bad.
This was like the very powerful hit. Luna still wander about what's that means. This was like someone's watching her. She was very scared. Another Great gall was in prepare, Twilight one day is going to built her own castle and Luna needs to take care of these. This is going to be a hard month. But the moon was very scary for her.
Why, she control the moon, then why fear show up every time when she look at it?
''Something is really wrong. Only my sister can help me.''
She knew that only Celestia can help her, balance was weak for some reason.
Luna go to her sister's chamber. Celestia was still sleeping, but it looks like she have some kind of nightmare.
''No I'm not, I wont let you hurt them LEAVE THEM ALONE!'' Her scream was very noisy Luna decide to look there.
*Celestia's dream*
Luna there was in Canterlot, everyone was in some kind of cocoons. And Celestia have a fight with Chrysalis.
Now this was clear, she feel guilty about what happen on the wedding. Maybe Luna should help her with that.
''Wait something is wrong in here.'' Luna felt again that strange feeling, when Celestia and Chrysalis hit each other with their horns all world has change, they were on some kind of lake. And above everything was.... Red Moon.
''What is happening?''
Luna was really terrified. Celestia looks very scared too. Chrysalis has change! From her back has grown the giant tentacles and her eyes turn into red. Then Chrysalis looked at Luna.
''Luna?''
Celestia looked at her with surprise on her face. This was wrong, no one could see her without if she is not wish that. Then Chrysalis spoke with voice of terrible monster, that wasn't her.
''Oh my dear Luna, Fear the Old Blood!'' Last thing Luna saw there was that creepy smile on Chrysalis face.
''AHHH!'' Scream of Luna and Celestia when they wake up from this nightmare was heard in all castle.
''What is happening!''
One of the guards came there to help. Faces of princesses was full of tears. ''Please leave us! PLEASE!''
Meanwhile
Now everything was clear. Hunter told him about what happen to Laurence. His best friend turn into a monster. Gehrman never felt that kind of sadness after death of Kos. Hunter then told him about that Orphan but Gehrman knew what happend. His child was free and return to the ocean, to his mother. Gehrman wish to see his born even if it was that gross like hunter told him.
Everything that happen because of Maria's jealous. She was his first student, he knew that she was adore in him, but he chose Kos, so she go there with little group of mad scholars from Byrgenwerth and do a terrible experiments on his child. In the same time he was trapped in this Dream. Laurence and Ludwig tried to stop them and promise Gehrman that they came back and rescue him. They failed. Then Maria realize what she do. She even drop her Rakuyo into the well. Hunter give him this back as the sign of her sorry for that. Now Gehrman can sleep well.
After another hour Hunter finally kill, Mergo's wet nurse. From what he heard, that wife of Gascoine Viola could be her. But it doesn't matter now, he end this, now Gehrman can rescue him from this Nightmare. Return his life and give him peace. He wait for him under the great tree. When he get there he tell him that he can free him. He except approve, but he said:
''NO!''
"Hm hm hm ha ha ha... Dear oh dear, what was it? The Hunt? The Blood? Or the horrible Dream? It always comes down to the hunters' helper to clean up after these sort of messes."
Gehrman slowly stand up on his leg and peg leg, and take his blade from his belt. Then he very fast merge this wooden thing on his back. Then it became a burial blade, this is the most powerfull weapon that any hunter ever create.
''Tonight Gehrman joins the Hunt.''
He attack him very fast, hunter was hurt in many places, but one blood vial cure him. Gehrman jumped and attack again, but hunter elude it very fast. Then hunter use his whirligig saw to hit Gehrman. This was good attack, but it wasn't enough to defeat the first hunter. They keep fighting until Gehrman feels that he can be defeated. He has no other option. He use his gun to stop the hunter. This give him a time to ,,make contact'' with the moon. Moon give him very big power. His body was glow with moonlight. Then he turn to the hunter.
''I'm sorry, my friend. You give me no choice.'' Gehrman knew that hunter's not going to survive that.
But then hunter took some strange sword. It turn into moonlight sword of Ludwig. Gehrman doesn't care skills prove who is stronger not weapon. Gehrman attack him with five fast attacks and quickly jumped from him. Hunter use his cannon to hit him, but he elude it. Then hunter use his magic sword and hurt him very much with magic of this. Then Gehrman shot him and run to him to do the final strike, but hunter in the last moment quickly get behind him and stab him with his blade. When hunter took his blade from his body, he fell on the ground.
''Huh, well, it's the end. My friend why you do such a stupid thing? Why?''
Gehrman feel the hands of death around him but hunter give him the half of his blood vial and help him get up.
''Beacause, you've been traped here for too long, you're my friend.''
Words of the hunter was honest, he really want sacrifice himself for him.''I end this nightmare once and for all.''
Gehrman watch when he took three things from his bag. This was...
''No, no, If you do that, you're going to...''
''I know''
Hunter after those words eat two of three umbilical cord, before he eat the last one he said:
''If i wont do that then who? Listen, this world and you teach me that everyone need's a friend, friends are reason to fight, they are strength that we use in this hunt. You were my strength, my reason to fight, my target, rescue you. So now believe in me and let me face with effects of this quests.''
Gehrman don't know what to say, all this time, all this years. He's going to be free and his last friend sacrifice his lie to let him be free. Gehrman touch an arm of the hunter:
''I believe in you, thank you my friend. Urghh!'' Gehrman fell on ground again, he's going to wake up. Last thing he saw was the hunter consuming the last umbilical cord, then the moon presence the source of this nightmare show up on the sky. Before he die, hunter give him his blade.
''Hunter should die with his weapon, farewell.'' After that Gehrman gone and hunter prepare his moonlight blade for this Great One.
Gehrman opened his eyes. He was in Yharnam. Real Yharnam. Finaly, his dream come true, this is waking world. But sun still was nowhere on the sky, why?
''Daddy, daddy!''
Voice of young boy was heard behind him. Maybe some child miss his parents. When he turn around there was, shore?
''What is this? No, no, I'm still dreaming, I should wake up?''
He grab his head and fall on his knees. ''I should...''
before he end someone grab his arm. He stand again to watch who is this. That was...Laurence. And master Willem. He can't believe his own eyes.
''Willem, Laurence? Is that you?''
When they bow their heads as the answer Gehrman hug both of them very hard. When he stopped Laurence said to him:
''I'm happy to see you too and not only me.'' After those words Gehrman turn around. Kos was there, Kos in her beautiful human form came from the sea. He hug and kiss her. This was miracle, his friends, wife they came back.
''Daddy, daddy.''
Gehrman heard this voice again, behind Kos was child. When he saw that boy, he realize who is this.
''Is this my son?'' Smile of Kos and his friends told him everything.
''My son, my son.''
When he kneel to better see his face, he think about how he look's like Gehrman when he was young, black hairs, Yharnam's signs on face. But before he could ask about his name something has change. All world change into black. His son looks like he's afraid then he heard screams of his friends, their bodies was on fire. He tried to do something, but it was like he's stuck to the ground.
''Gehrman,GHERMAN!''
They just gone in the bright light. When he turn around, his son cry beside the Kos's body.
''Daddy, why?'' behind his son, giant tentacles show up from the water.
''NOOO!''
Gehrman tried to catch his son, but this tentacles were too fast for him. They hit him very hard. He fell on the ground and those things catch the little boy and take him under water. Gehrman was angry. He never felt like this before. From one nightmare to another. He come closer to Kos's body. She was still alive, for now. Gehrman try to help her in someway, but it was pointless. Kos looked on Gehrman.
''Gehrman, please. I promise we've meet again one day, but please, don't lose your hope. Our son must have a brave father.''
Gehrman take her arm ''Gehrman I love you, I always do, please don't lose your hope. I'll always be on your side. Always.''
She closed her eyes and her hand fall on earth. She was dead.
''Kos, please, no, not again.''
He hug her dead body, he feel when his tears fall on her.
''Kos, don't leave me again. My son, I don't even know his name, I have no chance to ask you about it , no chance to say goodbye, no chance to feel happines once more. Please, don't leave me.'' He was just broken, he lost everything.
''I love you''
His eyes was like two wateralls. Then her body has gone. He felt like his rage is growing up in him. Whoever did this must die for that.
''I'll kill this creature who take you away from me'' Gehrman stand on his legs and watch the sun rise ''My hunt begin here and now.''
Gehrman must be strong. For her. For his friends. For his son. Son who's name is still secret for him. Whatever happens, he'll reach his target like the last hunter. Then he has gone too.
In Equestria
Celestia wake up again to do her duty, make a sun show up again, for many days she has a bad dreams, but tonight they are wont show up. Luna was in her room to keep her safe when she sleep.
''Tia, those nightmares show up again?'' Luna really cared about her sister, those nightmares in time were showing in her head too. Celestia smiled to her.
''No they not, maybe it's finally over.''
Celestia was so happy at last she can raise the sun with smile again. ''Come on, lulu we have day to start.''
On this words Luna feel very good her sister came back. Both alicorns go to the balcony, Luna get moon down, and Celestia raise her sun again. New day has become.
''Well sister, I must go to the library, maybe those dreams did not show up tonight, but I must find out, what are they means.''
Celestia was still scared. Those dreams were worse than every battle they took. Luna just bow her head in agreed and watched how her sister leaves.
In the castle library
Celestia still look for a book that can explain her what is happening. She looks for many days, but still there was no word about those kind of dreams, old blood, or the red moon. That was horrible, all this work and no progress.
''Oh Faust, I wish that I could knew something more about those nightmares. Maybe I should just give up.''
She feel like on her is thousand tons of stones. She never give up like this. Because she doesn't knew something. What a shame.
Then some strange noise came from the other side of library, something like all book shelf fell on the ground. She get there to see what was that. There was...there was, something odd. It looks like it can stands on two legs, well one leg, his left leg was wooden. That has five fingers, and very strange cloth, it looks like one of Rarity suits. And face of this thing have no scales or fur, maybe beside his gray hairs and beard. Teeth of these creature were strange too some of them was sharp and other were normal. But most scary was his blade on his belt. It was big. And for sure it can hurt her very much.
This creature looks like it's sleeping. She decide to get out from there and call guards. But when she was leaving, some books fall on the ground. Then this thing get up. It was big, very big. It was bigger even than her. It turn around to her, when this thing look at her, she tried to make a talk:
''Ehh, hmm, w..well hello, umm, mr. uuhhh, you understand me right, you have any name?'' Celestia tries very hard to hide her fear but it was pointless.
''Umm, yes I understand, not everything, but I'm Gehrman, it's pleasure to meet you.''
When he show her his hand she wasn't scared anymore. She shake his hand with her hoof.
''It's nice to meet you to Gehrman, I'm princess Celestia.''
